Which privilege required for last_ddl_time and last_analyzed?
Dear all,
assume a user A, who wants to be able to find the last_ddl_time and last_analyzed time on B's table T, (i.e. B.T).
Since this is metadata about B.T, what privilege needs to be granted to A to allow this action?

so we currently have three domain controllers set up, two of them on 2012r2 and one of them on 2008r2. prior to any of these domain controllers being added to the domain there was only one, running on 2003r2. the 2003r2 server was up and running when the
first 2012r2 was added and that's when running 'dcdiag /e /c /v' would yield an issue with "_ldap._tcp.9a5f3c17-e7ac-48f7-ab42-bf1ea621a6f5.domains._msdcs.cmedia.local" in the DNS portion of the diagnostics, specifically:

after adding the second 2012r2 to the domain, this issue is still there... adding the 2008r2 server to the domain and running BPA it gives the following:

Issue:
The "DcByGuid" DNS service (SRV) resource record that advertises this server as an available domain controller in the domain and ensures correct replication is not registered. All domain controllers (but not RODCs) in the domain must register this record.
Impact:
Other member computers and domain controllers in the domain or forest will not be able to locate this domain controller. This domain controller will not be able to provide a full suite of services.
Resolution:
Ensure that "DcByGuid" is not configured in the "DnsAvoidRegisteredRecords" list, either through Group Policy or through the registry. Restart the Netlogon service. Verify that the DNS service (SRV) resource record "_ldap._tcp.9a5f3c17-e7ac-48f7-ab42-bf1ea621a6f5.domains._msdcs.cmedia.local", pointing to the local domain controller "CM-DC4-NY01.cmedia.local", is registered in DNS.

I've tried scanning and then re-scanning every single entry in DNS Manager and do not see any reference to this specific GUID mentioned, nor do I see any other domain controllers referenced that should not be in there. The two 2012r2 and the 2008r2 domain
controllers are the only ones listed in DNS Manager... the 2003r2 mentioned earlier failed and was removed.Just to chime in, I noticed that you said you have one 2008 R2 DC, and two 2012 DCs.
I also noticed in the ipconfig /all that all DCs are pointint to themselves for DNS. We usually like to see them point to a partner, then itslelf as the second entry, w hether loopback or by its own IP.
Based on that, what I suggest to level the playing field by choosing the WIndows 2008 R2 DC as the first DNS on all DCs and only administer DNS using that DC. The reason I chose that is because of the least common denominator is what we rather use so we
don't invoke any new features in the newer 2012 DNS console that 2008 R2 may not understand. After that's done, on each DC run (and you can use a PowerShell window to run this):
Rename the system32\config\netlogon.dns and netlogon.dnb files by suffixing ".old" to the file.
ipconfig /registerdns
net stop netlogon
net start netlogon
Then re-run the dcdiag /e /c /v.

I thought the DNS entries were supposed to be the other way around? point to themselves first and a partner as secondary? regardless, as requested, I've changed it to what you've prescribed where they point to the 2008r2 server as the primary with themselves
as the secondary. I've also followed the steps to what seems like refreshing the DNS? on each of the DCs. Here's the output from dcdiag /e /c /v

What are the minimum privileges required for the source data server user in order to to successfully implement CDC
Currently I'm getting an "Insufficient privileges" error when trying to start a CDC journal on a model. The error is happening on the step that creates a trigger on the table in the source schema.
Here's the situation:
The data server uses the user "ODI_TEMP" for its connection. ODI_TEMP has been granted select privileges on the desired tables in the source schema. When starting the CDC journal on the model for the source schema, ODI tries to create a trigger on the source tables. This fails since the ODI_TEMP user can't create triggers on anything outside of it's own schema. For obvious fundamental security reasons, we cannot give the ODI_TEMP user the CREATE ANY TRIGGER system privilege on the data source.
Journalizing is set up using JKM Oracle Consistent. ODI is 11g, DB is 11g.Hi,
You can go for this
Grant CREATE ANY TRIGGER system privilege to ODI_TMP
Start the Journal , it will create triggers in ODI_TMP schema for the tables present in your source schema.
Now revoke CREATE ANY TRIGGER system privilege from ODI_TMP.
It will continue to work .. only when you are restarting the journal (due to adding or removing some tables in CDC) , you will be requiring CREATE ANY TRIGGER privilege.

I'm a ABAPer (Developer too), i will join into a SAP development and maintenance project that use the SAP XI. In order to prepare for this project, now i should determine and study the "Specific Skills/Tasks required" for a ABAPer (Developer too) in development and maintenance project with SAP XI technology platform. I see in our forum with thread:
Roles for XI Programmer
that: A developer will take care of "Mapping Task" with "ABAP Mapping" or "JAVA Mapping".

Hi have a macbook white and i bring this to school and i want to know which is better to use ms word or pages for notes and school work
If you have used Windows for years and Microsoft Office, then Word will work much better because you will learn to use it quicker than Pages. However, Pages is much cheaper than Microsoft Word, and if you don't mind learning a new interface, then Pages should be enough.
I use Pages for school projects, and there's one thing that makes a difference: create equations. Pages requires a third-party application like MathType and Word has got a built-in editor, so you should consider this -

Privileges required for database backup with RMAN
Hello,
We have 10g R2 on Solaris box. We use RMAN for backup and use the SYS account on the database to connect and take the backup.
Are there specific privileges that are required to take the database backup , so that I do not use the SYS account or the syspassword in the RMAN script.
I want to create an account and give only the privileges required to take the database backup and recover .
ThanksI think RMAN needs the SYSDBA privilege, so you won't gain much by switching from SYS to another user.
You don't need to store sys/password in a script. You can just :-
rman target / catalog xxx/yyy@catalog -

For 810 i think the procedure would be the same but themseeburger mapping program that validates the ANSX 810 would be different.As far as 997is concerned 997 is a functional acknowledgement.Its a genric format that is used to send acknowledgement for any EDI transaction set that has been sent.
3. Can anybody provide me Mapping Logic (at field level) done in XI/PI for 850, 810 , Dispatch Advice (IDOC type DESADV) .
The logic will be based on the trading partner guidelines which will contain the description of all the semantic and syntactiic description about the segments ,its feilds.we need to consider the guidelines and target side specifications too while mapping.

Firewall magic required for AppStore and MobileMe push data?
I have a LAN with all publicly routed addresses. The iPhone gets one of them, fixed IP and all.
I can browse the web, get and send regular mail both on iPhone and computers.
I can access the iTunes music and app store from the computer.
What I can't get to work is:
a) iTunes Appstore from the iPhone when connected to the LAN, even though it works over EDGE
b) any sort of push data sync of contacts, calendars and bookmarks through MobileMe (if it works over EDGE I don't know, because the data is likely too much to ever successfully finish the initial sync, given there are thousands of bookmarks, addresses and calendar entries).
Regular sync through iTunes used to work, so there's enough space on the iPhone.
So either there is an issue with connections timing out or with ports that need to be opened. It is somewhat disturbing though that this might need more open ports than regular use of iTunes, web and e-mail.MobileMe does not constantly push data. Data is pushed when there is data to push. You can turn push access off for received messages which will require having the account automatically or manually checked for new messages (fetch) but the same amount of data will be downloaded either way when new messages are received at the incoming mail server.
