Which product? Photoshop or Elements?

I saw there's a lot of products. I'm certainly unsure which product to use for my business. I am doing Marketing for my company and we use alot of editing. I'm not sure which product to use as they have a lot of function eg. photoshop element, photoshop etc. and what function do they carried. Please advice.

Exactly what type of image editing do you need to do for your company?
Photoshop Elements has matured into a very capable app over the last few years -- for image editing. Photoshop is like a "Swiss Army knife" of image & graphics editing. It does a lot more than just image editing -- text, 3D, vector graphics, video. As such the learning curve for PS is greater than PE.
If all you need to do for your company is to edit images, then PE may suffice. If you want to do complex image editing, such as using Blend If... adjustments, then PS will be necessary. Not sure if PE can edit 16-but images.
As an option, a couple of third party add-on plug-ins can extend the functionality of PE if ever needed.

  • Which ADOBE Photoshop Elements? 4.0 V 5.0? 7 ?

i'm confused. Wanted 2 buy Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0. with Bridge.
Most Mac mag roundups of best products are stillgiving Elements 4.0 5 stars, reviewing as brilliant, unbeatable 4 price, & even better than some more expensive kits.
    (Mac Format Sep 07 still *** 4 A 4.0.)
But Adobe have now brought out versions 5.0, 6.0 & I think 7.0. You'd think that mags wld've tested new versions you'd expect wld have more capabilities, & rec on Buyers Guide. (& I don't mean Adobe Flash CS3 Prof @ £575 etc)
Maybe Elements 4.0 with Bridge really is the best...?
Anyone any knowledge on this? Be grateful 4 help.
    Thanks.

As far as I can see 4.0 is for the Mac. 5.0 is for Windows. Check at the Adobe web site.

I bought photo shop elements 10 a couple of weeks ago and loaded it on to my computer which is Power Mac G5 running on OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. When I loaded the software on to the hard drive there seemed to be no problem. The file appeared as adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and included the sun flower icon.
    Point 1:
When I open the file I have four additional icons (deploy - packages - payloads - Install) the install folder is red and has a no entry motif in white when you click this icon the massage comes up 'You can't open the application "Install" because its not supported on this architecture.
    Point 2:
When I click on the sun flower icon Photoshop Elements 10 its takes me straight to Photoshop Elements 2 an old version that was transfered when I had to change the computer. If I click on the elements 2 icon it launches for a couple of seconds and an error message then comes on "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a programe error. Photoshop will now exit.
I would be most grateful for your assistance. Mac user North Yorkshire England

  • Trying to get a redownload of Photoshop Premiere Elements 11 which I purchased and then lost with a hard drive. Give me a clue how to get a download!!

Need download of Photoshop Premiere Elements 11. Have serial number all I need is a place to go to let me give them it and downlaod

    succi
If you purchased from Adobe direct, then just go to Adobe web site http://www.adobe.com and sign in. In the Search field at the top of the Adobe home page, type in My Orders. Then follow the link to My Orders and find your order and the download files associated with it.
If there are problems in that regard, go to the following web site and download and install the free tryouts for Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 (whichever one you want) and insert your purchased serial number into those installation files to make it your working copy.
Photoshop Elements 11 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
The key to success to read and care out to the word the "Note: Very Important Instructions" on the web page, starting with when to click the "here" otherwise you will get an Access Denied.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
    Thank you.

  • I was using an old version of photoshop but have now got a new iMac. Which product do I need for web

bought a new powerful iMac. For my purposes, which product will best suit me?  I have already got a website designed by myself but this needs updating and changing as my business evolves.

Forgive me, but that's a "Do I need a Porsche to drive to the mall?" question. Without knowing what specifically you do on your web page, we can't advise. Sure, we could tell you to get PS CS6 Extended and have all the options (which you may never use), but jsut as well PSE or Fireworks could suffice....

which product should I buy? I want to create vintage/retro posters for band and Bar

    Good day!
Instead of buying right away you may want to avail yourself of the free 30 day trial first to see which program fits your needs.
Photoshop and Photoshop Elements may be worth a try.
If you intend to create more graphic/typographic designs Illustrator may be worth looking into, too.
Someone else may have more/other recommendations, though.

The message says Configuration error and the error code is:- Error:1
It worked fine on old PC.

  • Automatic update Error on Photoshop & Premier Elements 7, Acrobat

Yesterday 1/23 I received a popup on my screen that three Adobe programs needed to be updated.  Acrobat reader 9, Photoshop & Premier Elements 7.  I clicked install.  I received an error before the the install completed and just hit OK before completely reading the error.  But it gave me no other choice.  It seemed to complete and then told me to reboot my computer.  When the computer came back up I immediately get a message to reboot the computer.  This happens every time I reboot.  I went into Photoshop Elements 7 and click on help update.  I immediately get the message to reboot my computer.  This was happening on Reader and Elements.  I uninstalled reader and reinstalled reader 9.3 and it no longer does it when I click on reader update but it is still happening in Photoshop Elements.  I am running XP Pro 64 bit.

    Hi,
Is you never click on the Help->Updates link, then too this dialog is coming? I don't think that this is specific to PSE/PRE.
What i believe is that due to some operation a reboot is pending for the machine and even though you are restarting the machine, that registry key which determines whether reboot is pending or not isnt getting updated.
Check out the below link for detailed information:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00192792&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=&product=816 81
Basically it suggest the following workaround:
1/ In Windows->Run dialog type in regedit and hit Enter key.
2/ Find the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager"
3/ Rename the "PendingFileRenameOperations" value to "PendingFileRenameOperations2"

  • Which product to buy

I just purchased a dslr and want to make photography my hobby. I also use the camera to take product pictures. Most of the issues I have with my pictures are white balancing the background, wanting to blur the background, remove or move unwanted objects and deepen or lighten the color of the main subject.
Could someone tell me which photoshop product would be the best? Price is a consideration.
    Thanks

elaborate color corrections and beautification for product photograpghy inevitably will require the "big" PHotoshop. Elements is too limited for that. At 9.99 a month there is nothing speakint against just signing up for the Creative Cloud Photography plan...

  • Unable to Install Photoshop & Premiere Elements 13 on MAC 10.9.5

Hello. I received Photoshop & Premiere Elements 13 for Christmas. It was purchased from Amazon (Amazon inc., not a third-party vendor). I have a MAC, running OS 10.9.5, which aligns with system requirements. I have been unable to install the software at all. One time I received a message that the software was not legitimately Adobe software. Otherwise, the disc is ejected automatically. Everything indicates it is Adobe software (serial number, packaging, etc.) Any ideas? Thank you, Melissa
    Correcting Title

Thanks. I downloaded Elements, and started to install, but can't get past the serial number screen.
There are several numbers on the back of the DVD box. I assumed the serial number was the long number above the bar code on the right - < removed > - but that doesn't fill the spaces and I don't get the 'NEXT' button.
The instructions say that the serial number will start with 1057 - so I tried added that to the beginning of the number above. Didn't work.
There is also a PN number on the back of the box, and a shorter number under a bar code on the left - < removed >
Can you tell me what I need to enter to install?
    I haven't downloaded Premiere yet...
    Thanks,
    Melissa

  • Products, list of elements and XML in Indesign

    Hi,
I want to do something with XML in Indesign, but I can't find the solution
I have a list of product, and each product is composed of multiple elements, just like that :
A product can be made for exemple like that :
    Product 1    :  - P2O5 : 23 g/L
                        - CaO : 1,2 g/L
                        - Zn : 3,2 g/L
    Product 2    :  - N : 4,3 g/L
                        - MgO : 2,2 g/L
I want only elements (when I say "element", I want to say Chemical element) that have a face value when I import my XML, and not the other (for exemple, not the term "B", "Cu", ...)
My XML has the value of the elements (for exemple, 23 g/L, 1,2 g/L) but not the term "N", "Cu", ... (it's a static text, directly typed into an anchored object in Indesign)
I want the term "P2O5" or "CaO" to appear only when there are a face value, but disappears when there are no face value.
And I want the elements not to be too spaced one to each other (for exemple, if there not N, P2O5 and K2O elements in my product, the term "MgO" and its value reach back instead of the term"N" (see in my picture above)
For exemple, in this picture (done manually), there is too much space before "CaO : 560", and between "CaO : 560" and "Mn : 8,8"
So, how can I create a document into Indesign with XML (much like in my exemple), wich generates list of products with differents elements that appear or disappear according to their values?
I don't know if my XLM tags are right or not, or if I use the right strategy with anchored blocks instead of a single block of text, but I don't find the solution!
    Can someone help me?
I work on Indesign CS6, on Windows 7.
    Thank you,

    Hello Fabien,
I have had a chance to look at the files. I am a bit uncertain about something. Is the table a design element, or do you want the data in a table?
If you do not want the data in a table, let me know.
If you do want the XML in a table, there are a couple means of achieving that. I don't know how big this publication is going to be, and so the answer sort of depends upon that. So a general "rule" I follow is:
For product data sheets or publications of say 12 pages or less, I will simply arrange my XML so that the data is in rows with the data that will be in a row's cells separated by tabs. I will typically bring in a small amount of data, create the table and create table and cell styles for quickly formatting the data into tables once inside ID. I use the Text to Tables feature for these, then apply the table style(s).
For a bit bigger publication, I will create a CALS table structure in the XML and do the same as above as regards applying table/cell styles.
For a large publication where manually going through and applying the table styles would be onerous and or there are several table styles I would need to use, I *might* take the time to wrap the XML table data in an ID table structure. To see what you would be up against, create and style a table and export it out as an XML file. This, to me, is only worth doing on a really large file that perhaps includes several styles of tables.
Using your example XML, it would look similar to the below. Depending on your text editor, it doesn't take too long to use the search/replace function in a good editor to do once you know how it needs to be laid out and your familiarity with the editor. I began with importing your XML into Excel rearranged some data, exported back out to XML and cleaned it up. I don't know where the data you have is coming from, but if a database of some sort, likely most of this could be done with the export from Access, the SQL, etc. I try to get whoever is providing the XML to get as close as possible to what I need, which takes working with them. But it saves time on my end.

Hello, I would like to create and print a contact sheet in Photoshop Premier Elements 13. I have managed to do that but I need desperately to be able to place a title on the contact sheet. Also, each photograph has as name and I need these names to show up on the contact sheet when I print them out. If this is not possible I will just return my product. I have an old old version of Photoshop that will do just that but with this new Premiere Elements I cannot find it.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13/13.1 running on?
Assuming Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, open the Elements Organizer 13/13.1 and select your media
    for the Contact Sheet.
Go to File Menu/Print and set up the Print Dialog for Contact Sheet.
If you used Edit Menu/Add Caption beforehand, I can see how you can get
    Date
    Caption
    Filename
under the Print dialog's "4" and even a page number if you have more than 1 page. But, I am not seeing
where you are going to get a title for each of the contact sheets.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
You can get into the Elements Organizer 13/13.1 from the Welcome Screen or by clicking on the Organizer Tab
at the bottom of the Expert workspace in the Premiere Elements 13/13.1 Editor.
Please let us know if we have targeted your quesiton..
    Thank you.
