Which program is best for fine art images?

I am a watercolor artist who captures and prints her own fine art images using Epson R2880 printer and Epson Fine Art Velvet paper.  I have thus far only used Picasa... but am now ready to step it up to Adobe... I am on the trial membership for the Cloud.. but am overwhelmed by all the programs available, like Photoshop CC and Dreamweaver... I have no idea what the differences are and which one would be best for my needs... I am really only adjusting my images for white balance, color balance, contrast, hue and saturation etc... and need to be able to isolate certain sections of the image at times to do that... (which I can't with basic programs like Picasa).  Please help!!!

My goodness!  You have jumped straight in with a full Creative Cloud subscription?  Way to go, as we say in this part of the world.
Ahhh...  Just read your post again, and I see you are on the trial.   The Photographer's bundle deal would have been ideal for you, with Photoshop and Lightroom for just $10 a month, but you have just missed that, unless you have previously owned and Adobe application.    But Photoshop is the way to go if you only want the one application.
There some great learning aids on Adobe TV, or get a sunscription to Lynda.com for a few months.
Someone mentioned Illustrator for line art.  After using Photoshop since it was first released fo the PC, I have recently started learning Illustrator, and I'm having one jaw dropping moment after another.  I had no idea it could do so much.  So that might be worth considering, but only in addition to Photoshop.

  • How do you make a video open as soon as page is loaded? Also, which program is best for video?

I have a page with a quicktime video, and am wondering how to do that. Is there a setting in Dreamweaver to do that? ALSO, what's the best video program to do when displaying movies on the web? I'm working with quicktime and most seem to have it. Or do they? What video program is the least likely to create problems with users?

Flash. If you're exporting Quicktime files you can export as h.264 that will play in Flash Player 9+
Use the JW player to play h.264 files in a flash player.

  • Looking for detailed literature on Aperture3 color management for fine art printing

I am looking for a coherent , cohesive book or tutorial on Aperture 3 color management capability for fine art printing. Thanks.

Sad to report: does not exist, or if it does, is a closely held secret (by, imho, a coven of eyeless warlocks).
Color on OS X is likely -- just imho -- going to go through a transition which is not going to be helpful, in the short term, for Mac users for whom color is a vital part of their work.  X-Rite has, afaict, cast their lot with Adobe.  ICC profiling looks like a dead end at this point.  Apple is either going to have to leap-frog the competition, or use their technology.
One of the best resources I know is North-Light Images.  Up-to-date, Aperture-specific, authoritative information on printing is rarer than superb photography.

Like I said before ask facebook or look at their support site to see if that is even a feature.

  • What office program is best for macbook air 2013

what office program is best for macbook air 2013

    To create some sanity here:
If you are going to share files with family, friends, and coworkers Microsoft Office is the obvious and easy (though expensive) choice.
If you are trying to save money and still remain compatible with friends LibreOffice is free and can read/write Microsoft Office files nearly perfectly.
Another free choice is Apple's iWork suite (you'll have to download it from the App store because it isn't pre-installed) Numbers, Pages, and Keynote. These programs read Microsoft documents mostly accurately but not quite as well as LibreOffice and export to Office compatible documents. But neither LibreOffice nor iWork saves in Microsoft formats by default which means you must remember to export them. That can be a problem.
In terms of ease of use I give iWork a slight edge over the other two. In terms of doing annoying things I don't expect, Office is the hands down winner.

  • I save my Excel file as .PDF then send it out by email. What program is best for my use?

I want to send my Excel files as .pdf by email.  I need to know if Acrobat program is best for me.  I purchased a PDF file this morning and I don't think I need that.  From what I have seen, The Acrobat file is more what I need.  If so, then I would like to cancel the PDF file I ordered this morning and replace it with the Acrobat program.  I already have the Adobe Reader XI installed.

Fay it isn't clear what you are referencing by "PDF file" and "Acrobat file".
Yes there is the file format "PDF".
No there's no file format "Acrobat file".
Anyway, there are a number of ways to create a PDF file from an Excel file.
    From Adobe -
You can purchase ("perpetual" license or subscription) Acrobat (Standard or Pro).
After install of Acrobat you will have the Adobe PDF virtual printer which you can use to print to PDF (instead of print to paper).
After install of Acrobat you will have the PDFMaker which integrates with Office applications.
You can create a PDF from Excel using the PDFMaker.
    Or
You can subscribe to Adobe's online service "PDF Pack".
As a subscriber you go online, point the browser to the service's site, sign in, upload the Excel file and then save the output PDF to your computer.
With the PDF in hand you originate the email and attach the PDF.
    Be well...

  • Which programs if any can extract the image from existing QTVR pano file?

Which programs if any can extract the image from existing QTVR panorama files that were created with one image?
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

Unless you can find an open source ODBC driver for SQL Server that runs on Solaris (and I wouldn't be overly hopeful there) Heterogeneous Services would require that you license something-- a third party ODBC driver, a new Oracle instance, or an Oracle Transparent Gateway.
As I stated below, you could certainly use SQL Server's ETL tool, DTS. Oracle's ETL tools would require additional licensing since you're just on 9.2. You could also write a small application (Java or otherwise) that connected to both databases and transferred the data. If you're particularly enterprising, you could load the SQL Server Type 4 JDBC driver into Oracle's JVM and write a Java stored procedure that connected to the SQL Server database via JDBC, but that's a pretty convoluted approach.

  • Which browser is best for macbook pro?

Which browser is best for macbook pro.
I have used Safari for a couple of years but have been told recently that I would be better switching to Chrome

The best browser for you depends on your specific needs; as you can install multiple browsers without them interfering with each other, download Firefox, Chrome, and any others you'd like to try out, and pick the one which works best for you.

  • Which book is best for learning Lightroom 5 for a complete beginner?

I'm an Aperture user and as everyone has heard the news, a lot of us are considering switching over. I went through the Apple pro-training aperture, logic, and FCP books and loved the format of those. I've been reviewing my options for LR5 books on Amazon and I see a couple, Kelby, Evening, and The Adobe Classroom in a book. I kind of like the classroom in a book format as it resembles the Apple book's format. Which book is best for learning LR5, from a complete beginner's perspective?

I would avoid Kelby like the plague. I didn't like his book, I felt his chapters on the Library module were effectively useless and off the mark.
I would start with the free e-book Lightroom 5 - Free Quick Start Guide PDF eBook | The Lightroom Queen
I would also watch some videos at Products | Lightroom | Adobe TV

  • Which macbook is best for automobile student?

I am taking automobile engineering course & I need a laptop.. Please give me a right suggestion!
Which macbook is best for automobile student?

Any of the new MacBook Air or MacBook Pro models will do.  Check their features at Apple.com > Mac.  The Air and Pro models are now very close to each other with the Air a little less expensive and a little lighter (3 vs. 3.5 lbs.).  I would purchase 8 GB of RAM no matter which machine you buy.
The question is how much permanent (SSD) storage do you need?  128 GB, 256 GB, more?  You need to decide this up front and you cannot increase it once it is delivered so choose carefully.  How much storage do you use on a current Mac or PC?  How much additional storage do you plan to use?
If you undersize the SSD storage all is not lost.  You can offload seldom-used data onto an external hard drive.  However it is easier to manage the storage if it all fits on your system drive.
Also check out refurbished Macs at http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals.  These come with the standard Apple one year warranty.

  • Which headset work best for iPad Air

Which headset work best for iPad Air

This can be highly subjective. I would pick a few models that you think you'd like, then read the reviews at the Apple Store link that Diavonex directed you to. Also read the reviews on Amazon.com as well to get a feel for a few models and what kind of sound they can produce.
Back to the "subjective" aspect I mentioned...when the Apple Ear Pods were released (they now come standard with all new iPhones), I had an iPhone 4 at the time and had the older headphones (the new Ear Pods were introduced/released with the iPhone 5). I heard great things about them and almost purchased a set when they went on sale as a stand-alone item but I decided not to. When I upgraded my phone to an iPhone 5, I got them included with the new phone. Great, I thought...well, after trying them, I hated them and I still do. They produce way too much bass for my personal taste and sound boomy. I much prefer the older model. It's just personal preference.
Read the reviews and see if they describe how the headphones sound...boomy, tinny, clear, muddy, etc and try to match that to what your preference may be.
