Which sample rate can be supported by flash player?

Hi support:
I am a flex developer, i encounted a problem when i develop a flash program for my ipcamera,
i add a adpcm format audio stream to the rtmp stream, but the specification says that only 5.5k,11k,22k and 44k is supported,
but my device can only generate an audio stream which has a 8k sample rate, can you help me to do some thing.

This ISN'T support. It's a user to user forum. And unfortunately it ISN'T the one where the answer would be. You'd be better asking in the Flex Forum, as there are most likely people there who have a lot more knowledge about frame rates in Flex development than we do here.

  • On the fence for which sample rate to record at (44.1 vs 96)

Been reading tons of posts on the sampe rate debate.  My friends (across the country) and I are about to start to collaborate on the great American rock album that we didn't quite get right back in the day in college.  I'll be running the show sending them scratch tracks with clicks so they can lay down individual tracks and I'll import them.
I'm torn on which sample rate(s) to use -- and want the best quality possible, of course.  I've boiled it down to the following pros per sample rate.  Any advice/comments much appreciated.  thanks
    44.1 Pros
    - Friends across the country can use GarageBand (44.1kHz is max) to lay down a single track and send to me to import into Logic Pro and mix (and will match up)
    - GarageBand is free, Logic Pro is $199; Apogee JAM is $99, Jam96kHz is $129
    - GarageBand requires fewer resources (1GB RAM vs 4GB for Logic Pro) so they don’t have to have beefy Macs
    - Smaller file size to post/share (Dropbox cost per/storage size)
    - Picture mixing a bunch of 44.1 tracks vs a bunch of 96 tracks even if on my beefy Mac running Logic Pro; fan running, gasping for air etc?
    96 Pros
    - 96 sounds noticeably better than 44.1?
    - While 44.1 standard for CDs, that’s no longer how music is largely distributed
    - Should always record to max resolution you can be “future proofed”?
    - Current lossy formats support up to 48kHz so 96kHz good as will cut cleanly in half when bouncing
    88.2 Pros
    - Maybe choose this so friends using GarageBand can record at 44.1 so upscales more cleanly?  But then bouncing down to 48kHz not as clean? (I don’t recall Logic Pro allowing me to choose 44.1 for bounce rate.. always says 48 for MP3/M4A)
    thanks!

44.1 kHz still is pretty much standard for MP3's.
Your friends/collaborators can pretty much use any application that can record PCM (or even MP3) audio; even if they're not playing to a steady tempo, you can line everything up in Logic, with flex.
Using Garageband and one set tempo should also work. Just remember that you cannot open Logic files in Garageband, only Garageband files in Logic. The Audio Files recorded by either, can be used (imported) by either.
Higher sampling rates will not "future proof" anything. In fact, that whole concept is flawed. Your best bet for now is simply 44.1 kHz 24 bit uncompressed PCM files in their most widely used form: AIFF or WAV.
96 does not noticeably sound better than 44.1, unless you have a top end interface and a very delicate and very complicated mix, and admirably acute hearing. In some interfaces 96 or 88.2 have been found to sound worse than 44.1, because of clocking inaccuracies getting progressively worse at higher sampling frequencies. I would stick to 44.1, it has lots of practical advantages (as you pointed out), and the sonic difference with 96 kHz is marginal at best, and certainly not worth the price: "double" rates need double the CPU power for any plugin processing. That's the biggest loss. Half a Mac.
Bitdepth on the other hand does make a significant difference. There is no reason not to record everything at 24 bits. Shorter: always record at 24 bits.
O, also just spotted your remark about Logic not "letting you" bounce MP3/M4a to 44.1 kHz. You must remember incorrectly, because I never bounce MP3 or AAC to any other frequency than 44.1 kHz. However, it may be that this rate is tied to the projects' sampling frequency as set in the project settings, and the last time I used 48 kHz was in LP 8. I'll check that now.

  • TS1702 Why does iPad not support adobe flash player

Why does the Ipad not support Adobe Flash Player ?

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
      1. Puffin
      2. SkyFire
      3. Photon Flash
      4. Browse2Go

Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • Alternativa3D 8.12.0 update with support for Flash Player 11 Beta 2

To your attention we introduce the new public engine build Alternativa3D 8.12.0 which supports the Flash Player 11 Beta 2. So this version of the engine is completely compatible with the latest Flash Player build at the present moment. We have also accelerated the mouse events system and added the orthographic mode to the camera.
    Complete list of changes
The public version Flash Player 11 Beta 2 is now supported.
The orthographic mode has been added to the Camera3D.
The MouseEvent system has been optimized and accelerated.
    Logo “AlternativaPltaform” has been updated.
Now when objects are added and removed from the parent, the event will be sent (Event3D.ADDED, Event3D.REMOVED).
The ability to change the property renderToBitmap into View after creating has been added.
The height and width of the View has been limited to the minimum size of 50×50.
Bug in mouse events system when used skins divided on surfaces by divide() was fixed.
A bug has been fixed in Decal.
Skin lighting algorithm changed to more precise one.
ParserCollada: Fixed a bug when binormal vector of the vertices of the object was incorrectly parsed.
The value of backgroundAlpha in the View constructor changed to 1.0 by default.
VertexLightTextureMaterial now draws correctly without lights in scene.
    MouseEvent3D was moved from alternativa.engine3d.core to alternativa.engine3d.core.events.
A bug has been fixed in Object3D.dispatchEvent().
The offset property has been added to the constructor Decal and it is compulsory.
Now the offset property can be copied using the clone () method of class Decal.
The ratio property has been removed from View class.
VertexLightTextureMaterial now can be used with skin with the maximum number of bones in surface no more than 33.

    I need help.....
Chrome uses a different and separate plug-in.
There are things about IE you need to know, especially 11. Specifically:
    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess they've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

I have a power pc and 10.5.8 i find a discussion about a flash player on 11.5.502.55, but i couldn't find it.  Now the 10.102.64 now the flash player not working it goes 50% but never finish installation.  So i'm going to a older version on google to download the flash player 90280.  otherwise can you find it 11.5.502.55, all i find out was youtube and i needed a latest flash player.

At some point I'd posted some method for patching a Flash player so it would appear as 11.5.502... and thought to try & find it among previous discussions; and for some reason I could only go back 500 discussions. So I did not find that post.
Given the Flash player is essentially obsolete for the outdated OS X version(s) the patch is a way to allow some sites and some content to load in a browser that otherwise may not. However because it is not improved regularly, there is content that probably won't work even if you use the patch and run a later version.
The instructions are in a read-me richtext file in the patch folder; the Plugin update is included and you swap out the older plugin with a newer 11.5.xx included in the download file. It seems to do OK and my older Macs can use it. (Even my early Intel-based MacBook with Leopard 10.5.8 has a patch, since it hasn't a current Flash either.) See their 'read first' file to see what you need to do to get the patch to work. Save the old part in another folder so you could revert it. And test the Flash player version after the patch update. This does not use a regular installer; you re-use part of the existing Flash player
