Dear All,
We have implemented ECC 5.0 version of SAP in feb 2006, we are evaluating Hyperion for the undermentioned management requirements
1) Business Planning
2) Balance Scorecard
3) KPI Reporting and Strategic management
4) MIS Reports ( yeraly/halfyearly/Quarterly/monthly/ daily)
5) Profitability Analysis & Simulation
We are in talks with SAP implementation partners also , but we are not sure how SAP currently fulfills all the above requirements ?
In ECC 5.0 we have licenses for BIW 3.5 and SEM, the doubts are
1) Which has better product features SAP products or Hyperion ?
2) Which is the most cost effective solution especially for us since 95% of our data is in SAP ECC 5.0 ?
3) Which additional Licenses we will have to buy to get the best features ?
4) What hardware requirements will have to be fulfilled for above management requirements. ?
Detailed answers are welcome.

BPC for high-level, top-down planning and mutli-year projections
PCM for accurate, bottom-up operational cost and profitability managment, also for simulation of cost changes, activity / quantity changes and impact on product, customer or segment profitability
They are all part of SAP's latest EPM suite

Hello, does anyone have slides or a link that shows which SAP products run on Netweaver? For example, some Sybase solutions do not run on NW but I'm not sure which may and which may not. Things like Aleri and probably some other components don't require NW. How about Business Objects, does that require NW or run on NW. A nice diagram showing what were would be great.
SAP Event Insight is shown as one server but I know Sybase CEP (Aleri) is part of it, so, I believe that one server can be solely NW.

SAP upgrade to address 999 issue ?

Hello All..looking for some insight and help!
I was told (can't verify) that the new release/upgrade to SAP would be addressing the issue (that I KNOW everyone has run into) of the 999 line limitation on Journal Entries.
Does anyone know if this is TRUE? when is the potential roll out? I can not find anything to verify this - and currently the work around is gruesome to split large files.
ANY INSIGHT would be appreciated...

Still in higher versions also There is a limit of (999) line items which can be posted per FI document. This is because the line item number (BSEG-BUZEI) field length is defined as (3) numeric positions, i. e., (999) line items.
The most commonly used workarounds are as follows:
1) Implement FI summarization (per note 36353). But as you wrote, you cannot accept this kind of solution.
2) Cancel the original billing document and split it into smaller documents using different payment terms but actually with the same terms.
This will avoid the (999) line item limit for FI postings. notes 11162 and 111813 with reference to invoice splitting.

Interactive text application: Which Adobe product would be most appropriate?

Hello All,
I will be creating an interactive, online text application and I would like to know which of the Adobe (or any other) products you think is best suited for this project. Your input is greatly appreciated. Here is a description of the final product:
The initial interactive document will have about 200 pages with about 350 words per page (more pages will be added weekly). There will be a variety of fonts used in this document (some 3d text, some flat text, etc.)Thirty percent of the words will glow on the page (at runtime) and upon mouseover the text that makes up these words will expand (vertically and horizontally). Upon click images and movies with sound (animations and videos) will pop up (over the text document) and play. Sometimes a click on a word will change the text in the rest of the document (introduce new fonts, colors and font sizes).
Which product would best accomplish this? Flash, AfterEffects or something else?

For the time spent learning how to use Illustrator and the cost of it you could probably hire a professional.
If you want to do it yourself for a small company, avoid Adobe all together unless you want to use their 30 day trails - google it for info.
Gimp is good, free, simple. http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
And as above, Publisher and Expression design can be OK - generally it's what you do with the software not the software itself.

Which SAP Product version to assign to a Logical Component in SMSY (SOLMAN)

In our SAP environment, we do have 2 versions of ERP systems :
1. CON - SIF - CDP systems are 'SAP ERP Central Component 5.0' product version.
2. CDD - CDT - CDP systems are 'SAP ECC 6.0' product version.
Question :
When I want to assign these systems to a Z_LOGICAL_COMPONENTS, which product version do I have to choose ?
Example for CON - SIF - CDP systems :
1. They are 'SAP ERP Central Component 5.0' product version.
2. In SMSY in our SOLMAN system, logical component are created using
'SAP ECC 5.0' product version.
Example for CDD - CDT - CDP systems :
1. They are 'SAP ECC 6.0' product version.
2. In SMSY in our SOLMAN system, logical component are created using
'SAP ECC 6.0' product version.
Question :
What about 'SAP ERP 2004' and 'SAP ERP 6.0' product version ?
In which case must I use this product version to assign CON-SIF-CPS
or CDD-CDT-CDP to new Logical components ?
Are they OSS Note or any matrix which give me the right product version to choose ?
I have heard that 'SAP ECC x.x' product version should not used any longer ?

Which Creative Product would be best for

So I need a mp3 player and portable photo storage unit with very specific features. I need it for my holiday (coz I don't want to take my mac in case I loose it). I really like my creative USB mp3 player and would like to get a creative product to meet my needs.
My requirements are below. Could anyone help me by letting me know if there is a Creative product that will do ALL of these things?

- Can store photos on it without having to go through a computer. Either through and XD and Compact Flash II reader or directly from the camera through a USB input (prefer the latter option)
- Colour screen so that I can see the pics
- mp3 player that supports VBS rips
- at least 30gig storage
- Ability to charge with the cigarette lighter in a car (or have rechargeable batteries that can be charged with an in-car charger)
- Standard headphone jack
Also, if there is a function so that I can back up my photo files on the fly straight into my external 40GIG hard dri've (without using a computer) this would be perfect.

Line no longer allows a thumb-nail gallery view and will not save names of drawings. No one is available on Adobe chat is able to address these issues.

I'm running iOS 8.0.2 and it is working okay for me. I'm able to view all the projects and their drawings and when not in an individual drawing and can use pinch or expand gestures to zoom in or out for the project/drawings thumbnail view.
I can rename projects doing the following (click to view larger)
You might try these if you're having difficulties
Completely power off and back on your iPad. long hold the power button
Backup any projects/drawing you want to save and reinstall the app

in the solution composer the icon in front of services says
o SAP Product Available
if a service is offered by a third party partner product there is an icon stating
(P) Partner Product Available (what i have understood from your message)
so the solution composer should be updated for these online campus services.

Which Oracle products should we use?

We are looking to build, from the ground up, a site that is roughly a combination of www.kudzu.com and www.accessatlanta.com. Which Oracle products would help us best develop, test, and implement a similar solution.
The primary confusion for me is whether the Portal product would be a good fit, or whether some other product(s) would be better.

If I understand correctly, you're suggesting developing the whole thing using J2EE rather than a product like Oracle Portal. I assume we would still be able to deploy using components of Oracle Application Server. Is this correct?
Ultimately, this portal website will be very database centric. All of the ads, listings, content, etc., would have to be stored and managed using a database. Would using J2EE be the most effective way to accomplish that?
I'm sorry if I seem a bit of a newbie. I know enough that I want to use Oracle technology, but not enough to know which products. Essentially, I'm the guy with the idea and I need some assistance figuring out the products so I know which product expertise to look for when hiring the right technical staff.

Just out of warranty. This is a software issue. everything was ok until the software update. Apple just need to sort it out.

Have you tried to open System Preferences, then Print & Scan and then try to Add + a printer?
I have an Epson RX580 and am using OS X 10.8.2 and it is working as a (Bonjour) printer. My Epson RX580 is plugged into my AirPort Extreme and I can print over my wireless network to the RX580. However, I do not see any Scan options with this setup.
Anyone know anything about getting the scanning portion of the RX580 to work over the network like the printing function does with my Airport Extreme? Or can I not "share" a scanner over the USB port on the Airport Extreme? I know, kind on topic/off topic - but I think it fits under OS questions better.

Hi,
As such there is forum which is dedicated to basis. But there are number of forum where you can post issues depending upon what type of issue you have e.g.
If you have issue related to database then you can post in SAP on Oracle, SAP on DB6, SAP on MaxDB etc.
If it is related to OS then SAP on Unix, SAP on window etc.
If it is related to ERP/EHP upgrade then SAP ERP 6.0 upgrade, Enhancement Package installation.
If its related to netweaver then on SAP Netweaver administrator, SAP netweaver platform.
