Which software for iSQL*Plus ??

Hi,
CAn anyone tell if iSQL*Plus comes with ORACLE 10g ??
I want to purchase software as my internet is slow..

Which version of 10g are you trying to install?
I did not get any error but when i click on Exe file ( setup file) nothig happensDo you mean you are installing the Oracle software for the first time on this machine? If yes, have you tried running the setup.exe under \install folder?

Hi,
we have enterprise edition 10.2.0.1 license. I know that for OEM 10g, we require license to use.
we want to enable isql*plus services also
do we require license for isql*plus services.

Trouble Playing Videos in M2TS format - Which Software for 10.5.8???

Hi There!
Having trouble playing videos that are in m2ts format on my mac osx 10.5.8.
Tried to download some converters from 3rd parties but the general consensus seems to be that my computer is too old for their software.
Can anyone recommend something that will help me to view these videos?

Which software for panning & zooming on artwork?

I need to insert some graphics of artwork into a project, and need to pan & zoom. I've tried MovingPicture from Stage Tools but I find I can't achieve a constant panning speed after a ramp, and I also get jaggy verticals. I believe After Effects will do the job, but I don't have it. Is Motion the software I should be using? Or is there another solution? I presently have FC Studio installed.

I have just bought the Lyric Media Pan & Zoom software and it is FANTASTIC. ( ....as far as a plug-in goes).
The motion tool in FCP is horrendous for ease in / out, & adds a hiccup to the motion if you convert "center" to ease in / out. This plug-in ($49) allows for huge soft splines (beziers) and real nice movement to the footage or photo.
No idea how this compares to AE, but it gets you out of the woods fast!

How can you see which version is currently installed in the player?
In recovery mode I see v0.0.65, does this indicate the version?

Which software for "learning to type" for MacBookPro Lion?

I have a friend who needs to write long research documents. She has a MacBookPro, with Lion OS I think. She is looking for a software to teach her how to type with 10 fingers. Anyone you recommend? How does the software shows errors when you make a mistake? By beeping? Is there any cover for the keys so that you don't see them while you write?

Which software for video editing?

I am new to video editing. I will be going to college soon and I plan on studying Post-Production. I would like to eventually edit features, tv shows, and trailers (either one, or all).
What software should I get? I'm looking at Premiere, Avid and Final Cut Pro X.

For broadcast and film, the industry standard is Avid with Premiere in second. Avid's educational price is $295, just under FCPX at $299.
You should learn Avid, Premiere and FCPX. This will make you well rounded and able to work in any post-production environment, since different programs are used.
FCPX will be easy to pick up. Avid and Premiere might take a little time but the larger post houses use those (broadcast and film). So it is best to know all of them.
Editing is the same no matter what program you use, it's not about the software. The only difference comes in with workflow, where it will be shown (matching back to film for theatrical release, DVDs, Bluray, internet, etc.), how many editors are working on one project, etc. An award winning film can be edited on any of those NLEs. Some NLEs are just better for certain jobs than others.

I've had good experiences with Ardour. It's simple to use, can handle real time effects and can integrate with other software through jack. Audacity is irreplaceable in it's own category, but I use it only as a "one track editor". I have tried Rosegarden also, but I never got it fully working with my setup and Ardour meets my needs better than it.
So.. Audacity for audio editing (thou as said, it can handle multiple tracks also), Ardour for multi track recording and mixing, Rosegarden if you use midi instruments etc.

I have installed iSQL*Plus and it works fine with normal queries.
I have tried it with different versions of oracle
7.1.6.2.0
8.0.4.0.0
8.1.5.0.0
8.1.6.0.0
8.1.7.0.0
There are some problems also which i noticed when we were working with it.
It is unpredictable sometimes, i.e., the same query which works once may give problems some other times. restarting the browser solves the problems some times
But the major problem was that if the user closed the browser window without logging off the session will not end on the server and after such many improper shutdowns the number of sessions on the server piles up.
But if the user logs off properly then the session is closed.
It is a nice tool and may become a necessary tool in future.

I can't get Isql*plus page in browser

Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 10g on Windows xp professional and all seemed fine.I was able to acces the EM with this http://host:5500/em which was in C:\ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini.
I had this entry for isql*plus :http://host:5560/isqlplus .Yet when I type this in address bar, I get page cannot be displayed?
Why is this so?
1)I have ping server_name
2)I have started isqlplusctl like this :C\isqlplusctl start
"Isql*plus started"
Why can't I get a page for Isql*plus from my browser?

1. Ensure that iSQL*Plus is start from the Windows Services or from the command prompt using isqlplus start
2. From the Browser, ensure that the port is correct. It must not be port 5560. So you need to check in $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini for the correct port.

Isql*plus is taking too much time to stop

today encountered one problem...isql*plus is taking hours to stop the process...

ISQL*Plus startup problem

Having reviewed the recent thread on this subject but still unable to get iSQL*Plus - I need some help. Here are the details:
Environment: Windows XP, Oracle 10g PE
Started iSQL*Plus in CMD window with command: isqlplusctl start - and got message iSQL*Plus started
Now I go to IE and try the URL for iSQL*Plus I got when I installed: http://192.168.1.100:5560/isqlplus - and get the message: The page can not be displayed.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help is appreciated - as I am new to Oracle...

i have installed oracle 9i release 1 on windows 2000 pro but iSQL Plus not working.
I checked on installed products and it is there and also find isqlplus.conf file.
what are the requirements of iSQL Plus and how can we chech them?
I have not find 'isqlplus.ini' where it should be?
isqlplusctl start is also not working.
how can we check http server availability?
I tried http://localhost but IIS is opening.
Tried http://localhost:7776/isqlplus - getting same message: The page can not be displayed.

ISQL*Plus DBA URL

I just installed 10g, during install I changed the passwords for sys and system. I still cannot login to iSQL*Plus. The enterprise console seems to work all except for iSQL*Plus. For username/password I used scott/tiger, system/manager, system/'my password', system/welcome and none work.
From the documentation I attempted the following from the 10g docs:
Create and Manage Users for the iSQL*Plus DBA URL
The actions available to manage users for the iSQL*Plus DBA URL are:
Create users
List users
Grant the webDba role
Remove users
Revoke the webDba role
Change user passwords
You perform these actions from the $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/isqlplus/application-deployments/isqlplus directory.
$JAVA_HOME is the location of your JDK (1.4 or above). It should be set to $ORACLE_HOME/jdk, but you may use another JDK.
admin_password is the password for the iSQL*Plus DBA realm administrator user, admin. The password for the admin user is set to 'welcome' by default. You should change this password as soon as possible. See Change User Passwords.
A JAZN shell option, and a command line option are given for all steps.
To start the JAZN shell, enter:
$JAVA_HOME/bin/java -Djava.security.properties=$ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin/iplus/provider -jar $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/home/jazn.jar -user "iSQL*Plus DBA/admin" -password admin_password -shell
To exit the JAZN shell, enter:
EXIT
Change User Passwords
To change a user's password from the JAZN shell, enter:

I attempted to follow these instructions. I assume that I use the command prompt from Windows XP Pro. My Oracle Home is:C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\ and my Java Home is:C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1\jdk\bin\
I can't get to the 10.1.0 directory, dos give an error saying it's an invalid directory.
I have tried several other things and after 8 hours I am at an end.
Any ideas?

Open a Windows command shell (Type Start > Run and enter "cmd" in the dialog).
The enter the following at your command prompt:
set ORACLE_HOME=C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\db_1
set JAVA_HOME=%ORACLE_HOME%\jdk
cd %ORACLE_HOME%\oc4j\j2ee\isqlplus\application-deployments\isqlplus
%JAVA_HOM%\bin\java -Djava.security.properties=%ORACLE_HOME%\sqlplus\admin\iplus\provider -jar %ORACLE_HOME%\oc4j\j2ee\home\jazn.jar -user "iSQL*Plus DBA/admin" -password welcome -shell
You should now be in the JAZN Admin command line tool. Follow the rest of the documentation to then use JAZN Admin to:
* Change the default administration password ( from admin/welcome)
* Create a new iSQL*Plus DBA user
* Grant the webDba role to the new user
You will need to restart iSQL*Plus before the changes are available.

Can you tell me what to put in for Username and password for iSQL *Plus. I tried making one up but, it said login failed.

If you are using isqlplus 9.x then you may use this command in your OS to add DBA user.
ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin/htpasswd ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin/iplusdba.pw username
or for normal login, type http://host or ip:port//isqlplus
