Which soundcard to purchase? Can you advi

WOW, I have reading about all the?potential problems with various soundcards and different systems. I am in the market to replace my ASUS P5B-E motherboard onboard sound with a new soundcard. I have read reviews on newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, and other places where people are complaining about problems with X-Fi cards and their systems. As well as other driver problems on other cards.
I have used Creative products since ISA versions of soundblaster and I cant remember ever having problems myself with any of them. But with all the buzz about potential driver problems with systems I do not know which sound card to get. I wold prefer to get an X-Fi because its the latest card. I have?recently built a game machine that ranks in top 0% of 3dMark06 (which I know isnt the greatest score...but it certainly makes me happy enough for the money I spent on the game machine)? anyway...the only area its lacking is better sound processing. I love some of the comments on the quality sound for games when using the X-fi. I dont like all the *extra gizmos* that people say are installed and clutter up the machine. I realize that extra stuff unlocks a lot of features so I suppose I would have no choice to load most/all of it from the installation process.
The last thing to do for this system is to add is a new sound card. I want to play movies (included HD-DVD's) and DVD's from the system, as well as play games and?listen to music from Winamp or other programs. So I use my PC for a little of everything. As I did on my 3yr+ old game machine.
I dont know which X-fi card would be best for my needs. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
And do you think the X-fi line is going to speed up my overall ?fps (frames per second) or slow it down?
I guess I dont have to have X-fi if there is another Creative product that is rock solid and still will work for a blended amount of application uses. I have an external USB extigy...and was happy with that system on another Windows XP machine. But of course that was before caring about fps in games. From what I have been reading, the older creative products may actually slow down my overall fps in games. I have never tested it myself so?I really dont know.
I could move my USB extigy to the new PC and *just try it*...but then I have installed a bunch of software that I may not keep on there. I like to keep the machine as clean as possible.
Welllllllllllllllll anyway, any thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

After reading a lot of specs, and reviews of X-fi, Audigy 4, and other Creative cards...and of course comparing the prices between them I decided to try my luck with a Audigy 4 (w/pro chipset)?that comes with a remote and various software.
I also purchased the digital I/O module because?I plan on hooking it up to my A/V home receiver to replace my older system. My older game pc (3+ years old now) was using Nforce2 soundstorm which I was very happy with. It allowed me to run a Coax digital output from the PC directly into Coax input in the A/V Recei'ver and use various settings in the software for?good gaming sound...as well as pass thru for Dolby Digital and DTS for DVD's and playing music from Winamp Surround sound edition.
So I guess I will see how it goes with the audigy 4. Im hopeful the experience will go well. I will have to say that all my other creative cards worked fine for me. But all this talk about problems with X-fi makes me not want to get one. Not until they have as good of reviews as other creative products anyway. I believe the sound that comes from the Audigy 4 pro should be awesome...and also be a big improvement over the onboard sound of the new game system. Thanks for comments

Having tried the Quicken on the Mac, I much prefer using a spreadsheet. I know this is not a direct answer, though given the nature that spreadsheets offer nearly the same versatility if not more than Quicken, you might want to consider going that path instead.
Many options exist on http://guide.apple.com/ http://www.versiontracker.com/ and http://www.macupdate.com/ that you might not be aware of.

I am considering purchasing 1 (Garageband 11" App from the Mac App Store) and Possibly iPhoto
I read (I thought*) that if You purchased a Mac App You Could share it on other (compatible)
Mac's in Your Home and on your Network (if You have one) it would be on a Intel imac
running OSX 10.6.8 and a Dec 2009 Mac Book Pro also running OSX 10.6.8
The Family Pack Disk is 5 users and > than needed, and the Single User (disk)
would leave us short (and 3 out of 5 applications were updated also)
Its possible only will get one Mac App now (Garageband) and review iPhoto
as the reviews do not seem great, iMovie would be the 3rd but we do not have a Video Camera
and IDVD and iWeb are unchanged

You can not "unlock it to T-Mobile". If the phone is locked to AT&T, ONLY AT&T can authorize unlocking it. Contact them and find out if it's eligible for unlocking. If it is, and you meet their requirements, they will process the request to unlock it. If it is not eligible, and/or you don't meet their requirements, then it can only be used on AT&T.

Which type of apps can you virtualize

I'm new to ZAV, and wants to know which type of applications you can virtualize and which type not, and why.
if you take for example adobe reader, how is it possible to associate the file extension .pdf to that file and how is the integration with internet explorer . Are that things working with ZAV?, because everything is in 1 executable.
I hope someone can explain me this.

Allright so you don't use the whole adminstudio suite.. you can a lot with it, but probably ZAV is enough for most of the things. That's great.
I'm doing monitor instead of snapshot, because it's better to "monitor" the installation process instead the "before" "after" solution. but ok not interesting.
Ofcourse i'm not re-package an msi again. Always use the Tuner or ORCA or ZCM builtin Properties (very handy). You can say 90% of the apps are msi's. But not for our software vendors. I'm working on local government and much software are old old setups/installers. Very annoying. I think 10% of our software is MSI, So i have to do it by myself.
But making MSI's is not my core-business on my work. I'm System Engineer, so doing everything and have to know things about everything :S.
So i'm also user very often (if possible) the built in silent commandline paramenters. As example for Inno Setups i record the answer file. Or use a simple Setup.exe /s and afterward i'm removing the shortcuts with zcm "file removal" .
And ok, the are not in MSI format, but it works!, And since there is not a standard in how setups are working, or vendors don't create the msi for me, i have todo what's working.
But dandirk, Do you also have alluser problems with ZAV? or does the whole problem never exists because it's 1 executable, and for each user it's creating an sandbox.
Do you have experience with creating the sandbox on a network share.. For example on the Homedirectory. We are not using roaming profiles, so if i put it in the userprofile it's gone after re-imaging.

Though importing msi is not a bad thing to try if you have problems with the snap.
If you are doing "monitor" captures with installshield often, you are probably missing something. 90% of apps are msi now a days. Installshield should give you a warning that an install is already an msi when you start your monitor. If an app is already an msi, you DO NOT want to remonitor/snap it with installshield. Its much better to extract the msi (if needed) and use tuner or installshield to create a MST.

I just had to reinstall my Mac OS X on my iMac, because my system crashed. (I know...macs aren't suppose to do that!) I lost all my purchased iPhone apps and purchased ringtones, and music. Is there a way to get them back without having to purchase them again?

Redownload the applications normally, and use this form to submit a request for the remaining content. Otherwise, try these instructions. If neither of these methods work, you can't.

yes you can stream it to the appletv via airplay.
you could also purchase the tv show in itunes on your pc/laptop and stream it to the appletv via itunes.

I want to get a new TV and wanted to spend around $600. I am thinking about one of these two. one is 37 inches and the other is 40. besides the screen size what is the differences between these two and do you think it would be better to spend the extra money for the 40 inch.

They are the same except for the size. It's up to you whether the extra 3 inches is worth the $100 price difference... that's not really a judgement we can make for you.

Can you use more than one scanner?

Just got an Epson Artisan 810 All-In-One Printer-Fax-Copier-Scanner. It has wireless connection (or USB). I set it up on both our G4 12" PowerBooks for wireless Network connection. Seems to be working fine (so far) for me.
Here's the problem. My wife has another Epson Scanner on her desk that she wants to keep using. It's a USB connection. But now Epson Scan doesn't give her the option. She's on the phone with Epson right now but I spoke to the support person first and I'm not optimistic about a happy outcome.
My short question is: If you've set up a wireless all in one which includes a scanner, can you also use a usb-connected scanner. If so, how do you configure it? (I have a sinking feeling it's going to be one or the other--Network or USB--but not both, which would be a big drag, as hers is an excellent scanner but she doesn't have a good printer.)
But it seems there should be a Select Scanner option, just as there is a Select Printer option, and then the computer should just use whatever connection is available for that machine.
Please help--we've had the computer year from **** and I can't wait for it to be over.

If I read your question right, yes.
My pad has two e mail addresses, and my phone has a phone number as well as a e mail address. For each device you can add additional 'receive at' addresses in settings.
Note, when you add a new address, apple will send an e mail to that new address that you need to respond to, to show that it is a valid address. So look in the inbox of that e mail account for the verification e mail. Note further, some spam filters think that the verification e mail might be spam, so if it does not show up in your in box, look in any spam file you might have.
in my case, the verification e mail came within a few minutes of declaring the new address.
The multiple address are useful if you have more than one device under your apple id, and want to be able to send stuff to that particular device.
