Which source input for record
Hi all,
I have learned to record using my Audigy 2 ZS card. I use the record option in the Creative player.
My only question is that when I am recording audio from my VHS tape deck. The manual says to connect the audio output cables of my source to the "line input" of my Sound card. It then says to select the "line input" option from the record source menu. There is no line input option in the "record source" menu. If I choose another source input such as, "wave" input or "what u hear" input, both will apparently will record the same.
Should I be using one of these inputs instead of the other for a better quality recording?
......or does ot not matter?

In the mixer, just be sure to turn off (mute) all the sources you aren't using. Also, I recommend closing any other programs while you're recording. And if you have any noise or artifacts in your recordings, you might try the clean-up options in the EAX console. But they'll alter the recording of course, so if you don't need them, I'd say don't use them. Other than that, looks like you're good to go.

I purchased a very high end specialty cable that is unidirectional going in the direction of the male RCA jacks to the /8 stereo mini jack to my sound card. For this particular Analog audio source I have found that choosing "line in" and a recording level of 37% gives the best recording results. I also am selecting 96k sampling and a 24 bit depth.
Other than the settings I have chosen above. Are there any other settings I need to know about as it pertains to the recording aspect, that will allow me to obtain the best possible conversion of this analog audio source to digital?

Which input for recording computer sounds
I have recorded a number of tracks via my Soundblaster Line in input to AA. I have a software drum module which I want to record via AA, but I cant seem to get AA to register this input. It's not inputting via any line/mic/etc input, as it is on the computer already. Am I selecting the wrong input? I have tried a few of them on the list and none seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks.
If I open the Creative Audio Console, it has an option to record. You can select input for the recorder, and if I select "what u hear" then the equaliser bars respond to the drum software. However, in AA I cannot find an option to record "what u hear" or any equivalent - all the inputs seem to be for external sources (line in, digital in) and a few I don't understand (mix FL, mix RL) - if I choose these two latter ones, I get a sudden crescendo of feedback which causes the input level monitors to go into the red and cut out.
Update: I went into AA audio hardware setup and selected "Audition 3.0 windows sound" as the audio driver. The only output available is "SPDIF out". Now, I am able to select "what u hear" as a recording input!! HOWEVER, when I click "arm for record", I get the error message:

My soundcard is a Creative 7.1 X-FI Elite Pro, which supports full duplex.

How do I use optical input for recording in Garageband 9?

I'm trying to use the Optical Line Input on my G5 for recording in Garageband, using a MOTU 828. I have the 828 optical output connected to the optical audio input on the G5, and I have Digital In (Optical digital-in port) selected in system preferences/sound. But in Garageband preferences, optical or digital input is not among my choices. If I select system setting or built-in audio 2, I get no signal. If I select MOTU 828, it defaults to the analog master outputs on the 828.
I am a Logic 8 user, and I'm able to select the optical input in Logic with no problem. I have my MOTU audio setup set so that the optical output is the default output, but Garageband still seems to use the analog output. I can tell by the record level, which is considerably louder for analog than for optical.
Any suggestions?

I am very new to Oracle Forms and have been tasked with pointing some forms we have to a new server and adding a couple of columns to come areas. Everything was going ok until I got to a the point where I have to add a new column to an area on a form. The forms are pointing to the new tables and the searches are working, or at least seem to be working. How can I tell the data source for a data group? I checked properties for the record group (RECORD_STATISTICS) that populates a certain area on a form and it has query selected as the record group type but there is no query showing. I added the column needed to the column specifications list but it does not show up when I run the form. There is a spot for it because the extra hyphen is there.
Here is the code that populates the fields on the form. The field I added is the ahs_site column. As mentioned earlier I added that field to the RECORD_STATISTICS data group as well as to all the procedures I can find but am missing something..

Hope that made sense. I do not understand how data flows through forms just yet or how to phrase my question in terms that understandable. I do have some screen shots I could send anyone willing to help.

First of all, check the record group query in record group properties:
1) In forms builder object tree find that record group, right-click > property palette.
2) Look for property (just cann't remember exactly its name) where select query is specified.
3) Add the column you need to the query. Column specification will refresh automatically.
There is one more way to specify query for record group. Look for calls of POPULATE_GROUP_WITH_QUERY procedure in the form code.
Forms 6i: menu program > find and replace pl/sql, Forms 10: edit > find and replace pl/sql. In the search field type POPULATE_GROUP_WITH_QUERY. Then see the results where your record group RECORD_STATISTIC is being populated programmatically. If no calls were found - the only data source is in record groups properties. -
Which MacBook Pro for recording?
I'm looking to buy a MacBook of some kind, but I'm unsure of which one to get. Right now I think I'm going with the pro. So if I want to record on Logic 8 with an average amount of plug-ins and tracks, should I go with 2.4GHz or 2.5GHz? I was assuming to go with 4GB memory either way (right??). What are your guys' opinions? I don't really know that much about processors and if a little bit of a faster one would be that much more beneficial to recording.
Help!RAM will be of more importance, and so will having a fast drive to record to and from. Make 7200 your goal. I'd definitely go with the Pro, but my thoughts are that any of them will have acceptable processing power. And they allow for Firewire 800, which will be of great use with recording- basically, it strains your system to record to the same drive that you are running a DAW from.
You have no choice about running Logic from the system drive, but you can make the drive you put music to as fast as possible, and that will make more difference than .1 or .2 GHz. And you can never have too much RAM, I have 4 GB's and will go higher at some point. I'd make 4 your target. And that will be money better spent than chasing the processing dragon.
I'd avoid buying RAM from Apple at any cost, unless you are so rich and lazy that it doesn't matter how you spend your money. Good luck- you're going to have a lot of fun. -
Query for records on a block with Query Data Source Type : Procedure

The veriosn of form I'm using is:
Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.23.2
I have a block based on a procedure.
But when I enetr-query and search for records specific to ceratin criteria even then the result of the Query is all records.
Is Query not allowed on a block with Query Data Source Type : Procedure.

ArifWhen you use a table based block, forms can construct any select with any where clause based on the given inputs. Using a procedure based block, forms cannot "know" which in or out parameter of the procedure corresponds to which item. Even if Forms could pass the value of an item to an argument automagically, the procedure would have to "do something" with the argument, and you´d have to code it.
So, any item that should be used in the where-clause must be mapped to an argument.
Perhaps it would be easier to use a table based block querying a view? For DDL, you could use an instead-of-trigger on the view.

Which soundcard to choose for recording (guitar, MC etc)?
Which soundcard upto 150 USD would you recommend for RECORDING sound? I do not need all these 7.1, 3D sound and other things for computer games and DVD movies - I DO NOT play computer games and do no watch DVD movies, I do not even listen to music with a computer - I have a CD player for that purpose. So the output can be plain, I do not care; the important thing for me is INPUT. I want it to be clean and of high quality. So what soundcards would you recommend me, being no more than 150 USD?

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem with the DME File download. This problem happened all of sudden in our production system since last month and it was never before. Our system landscape has also not been changed but as per our basis consultant he has added two-three more new application server to the Production client. Even we do not have this problem in our testing clients.
Please note that we have been using the output medium '1' from the day one and thus the system has been generating the DME in 'File System' which we download on the desktop and upload the same to the bank online. After running the payment run when we trying to download the DME File, the system gives the error "There is no source data for this data record, Message FZ205".
I tried to fix this issue through many ways but not able to. So can you please let me know the reason of this error and solution to fix this.

SB Audigy 2ZS Plarinum Pro: setting source for recording
Hello!
I am having problems setting the source for recording. I want to set the recording source from 'Wave' (default) to 'Line-In /Mic'. After doing so with the mixer or the MediaSource Player it resets to 'Wave' after some time. Why? Can I force the software to make 'Line-In /Mic' the default setting? It really dri'ves me nuts to see that the source has changed without me being notified. I want to have the source changed only by myself and not by some cozmic radiation, God's will, voodoo magic and whatnot.

So can you go to control panel, and sound and there look at your recording devices and tell me what do you see? If your desired device is there, you can choose it as the default and then throughout the rest of windows, this will be THE global default recording device or the first choice, when you are in other programs to record from. Also, make sure your device is plugged in when making this change. On my system with that board, a few years ago, I could make the choice, but it would always pick something else when the source was unplugged. For example, if I were using the front bay inputs as recording, when I would unplug them and reboot, my system picked the next thing as default.
Next go into to your Creative Control panel and do the same thing there. Theoretically your choices should be linked, but this is not always the result. I can choose mine in Vista and windows 7, but lastly I always go to the Creative mixer applet and do it there and that works best. For me, my default is my front panel Mic or Microphone FP but as soon as I unplug it, it wants to make my back mic jack the default. -
so we currently have three domain controllers set up, two of them on 2012r2 and one of them on 2008r2. prior to any of these domain controllers being added to the domain there was only one, running on 2003r2. the 2003r2 server was up and running when the

I've tried scanning and then re-scanning every single entry in DNS Manager and do not see any reference to this specific GUID mentioned, nor do I see any other domain controllers referenced that should not be in there. The two 2012r2 and the 2008r2 domain
controllers are the only ones listed in DNS Manager... the 2003r2 mentioned earlier failed and was removed.Just to chime in, I noticed that you said you have one 2008 R2 DC, and two 2012 DCs.
I also noticed in the ipconfig /all that all DCs are pointint to themselves for DNS. We usually like to see them point to a partner, then itslelf as the second entry, w hether loopback or by its own IP.
Based on that, what I suggest to level the playing field by choosing the WIndows 2008 R2 DC as the first DNS on all DCs and only administer DNS using that DC. The reason I chose that is because of the least common denominator is what we rather use so we
don't invoke any new features in the newer 2012 DNS console that 2008 R2 may not understand. After that's done, on each DC run (and you can use a PowerShell window to run this):
Rename the system32\config\netlogon.dns and netlogon.dnb files by suffixing ".old" to the file.
ipconfig /registerdns
net stop netlogon
net start netlogon
Then re-run the dcdiag /e /c /v.

I thought the DNS entries were supposed to be the other way around? point to themselves first and a partner as secondary? regardless, as requested, I've changed it to what you've prescribed where they point to the 2008r2 server as the primary with themselves

Error deleting source system with error message: "incorrect input for....."
Hi,
I'm trying to delete the source system using tcode RSA1 => Source systems => select the 'source system' and delete, but I got an error message as follows:
"incorrect input for activating transported shadow IPacks"
Fyi, I have opened up the client configuration (SCC4) prior to delete this source system but the source system still cannot be deleted and I receive the above error message.
Please let me know what is the caused of the error and how to solve the problem.

Data Entry Layouts - Rows not ready for inputs - Multiple records
Hi,
I have created a simple layout using a predefined simple structure for rows (FS Items) and a data driven one for columns (for the period value in LC).
Some cells show some data in them and are not available for input because there are multiple transaction records behind the numbers.
The transaction records share the same breakdowns except for the Currency Translation Indicator (it is empty for original records and shows '1' for records created during currency translation) and the currency key for transaction currency (sometimes it is empty).
It would be much appreciated if you let me know a way to introduce new data with layouts for FS Items (accounts) which already have transaction records.Hi Roberto,
Data may not be ready for input because of different reasons. The most I met were - you didn't expand the rows structure until the leaves (not nodes) or you marked the column as display only. -

We have the problem here, how can we set the fixed vendor in Source List, for Standard PO using vendor 001 and Subcon using Vendor 003?

If u want to assign 2 or more vendor, try using Quota Arragement.

Why do I have to change source input to mono when it's recorded in stereo through my interface from an acoustic pick up in order to hear anything in playback?
It's a dean markley acoustic pick up with a mono 1/4" jack. It's plugged into a focusrite interface. GarageBand only records it in stereo and only plays it back in mono.Watts100woo wrote:
