Which speaker system is better: Inspire 5200 or 5300?

Hi,
I'm just about to :smileyindifferent: buy new Creative speaker systems. Unfortunately, in my country and city options are scarce. Only few models are available and I am trying to get a good, decent sound, with good bass for bassy songs (i.e. dance, hip-hop), and good sound in general for PC-based games and DVDs.
I am given two choices: Creative Inspire 5200 and 5300. The big question: which one is better? I supposed that since 5300 is a bigger number than 5200, the 5300s should be better; but I may be wrong (e.g. the total RMS power of the 5200s is slightly higher than the 5300s!), so... somebody can give me a piece of advice on this?
I am willing to spend as much as USD$50.00 on my new speakers... so if someone has better speakers in mind for that price, I'm open to suggestions. With luck, I can give them a try.
Regards.

I think the HiFi is too big and bulky and the Bose system is too epensive for what you get.(just my humble opinion) Check out ipod compatabile products by "iluv". They have several ipod compatabile music systems with dock that charges your ipod. I have two products in my home and think they sound as good as the Bose system....and are much cheaper.

  • Which operating system is better for Logic, Apple or Windows?

My current computer(apple is starting to show signs of wear when operating Logic and I'm thinking of getting a new one to help speed things up. I've been looking into both operating systems and the cost of the Apple one is putting me off a bit, but I've been so satisfied with the one I've got. The cost of a windows system is cheaper, but the old one I had was unimpressive. Any opinions would be appreciated along with reasons. If you do suggest a windows computer which do you recommend 32 bit or 64?? Thanks

  • Connections for Inspire 5200 on a Dell Dimension

Is anyone aware of the proper connections to utilize the built-in 5.1 audio on a Dell Dimension 8400?
Are there any suggestions on which speaker system would be the best for a Dell Dimension if I should decide to replace my speakers?
Dell's online owner's manual shows that the black jack is for surround and the white jack is for the center. I have the jack for the speaker system's FRONT speakers plugged into the surround jack and the CENTER/WOOFER plugged into the center jack.
It would be nice to have real 5.1 sound coming from my computer since it's supposed to be able to handle it without using an Audigy card. I have an Audigy card in another computer, but I don't want to pull it if I don't have to.

    cconklin,
Not sure about your onboard audio but you should connect the onboard audio Front jack to the speaker system front input jack, Rear/Surround jack to the speaker rear input jack and lastly the Center jack to the speaker Center/Subwoofer input.

  • Is my speaker system compatible with MSI K8N SLI Diamond?

    Hi!
Can I use my old speaker system with MSI K8N SLI Diamond. My speaker system is Creative Inspire 5.1 5500D Digital with decoder. Now 5.1 sound doesn't work properly. When I try look movie with PowerDVD6, center speaker is dead and no speech on movie. On PowerDVD6, SPDIF output is selected and tried also 6.1 channel options but no, speech will not play at center speaker. Some games too 5.1 surround doesn't work. I have connected my speaker system on motherboard coaxial SPDIF to speaker systems Decoder coaxial SPDIF, and speakers on that decoder. Do I have to buy new analog speaker system to get 5.1 surround working? If I connect my speaker system directly on MB analog outputs, sound balance in very bad, rear and front speaker is good but center speaker crackling and speech at center speaker sound like volume level is much too high.

if you know that the speakers are working (tested on another pc) it is usually a software configuration error. if the decoder would mess up the sounds, it is unlikely that you would hear anything in the other speakers too.
My speakers systems works perfect my previous setup, when motherboard has nForce2 SoundStorm integrated chip.
Some other forums, peoples claims that this MSI k8n motherboard can't send multichannel 5.1 surround audio on SPDIF and I have to connect my speakers on motherboard analog sound outputs.

  • Connecting Inspire 6.1 speaker system to Television

    Hi,
I am having creative inspire 6.1 6600 speker system connected to my computer and its working perfectly for me.Recently i bought a television LG 29FD55VE. I am planning to connect the speaker system to this Television. How do i do that?
There are two ports(AV2) in the television from which i am able to hear the sound if i connect the single speaker directly to that port.
One more question i have is does creative speker systems have inbuilt amplifiers?
    Thanks in advance
    Rudra

    Hi Tseran6600,
Before you do that, please check if the main board supports 6.1 speakers. It would also be advisable to get in touch with the computer vendor for assistance because they have information about your system.

  • Can a inspire p5800 be used without a computer, as a stand alone speaker system

Can an Inspire P5800 be used as a stand alone speaker system? Here is my story. I just got this speaker system from my girlfriend who did not know that it had to be hooked up to a computer/soundcard etc... She thought it would just hook up to my MP3 player and be used as a speaker system downstairs in my shop. It looks like the decoder DDTS-100 could be bought and used as a stand alone sound adapter? Or is there a cheaper way? The only other way I can see is a triple headphone adapter that has one 1/8 inch plug going to three 1/8 inch jacks that can be fitted with a 1/8 inch plug to plug cable in each jack, then those going into the back of the subwoofer/connector area. Would that be a mono source that way? Any help would be appriciated. marc

I have set this system up with a creative zen vision m without using a computer just stand alown, but i have only been able to get the subwoofer, front left and right speaker to work. I dont know if that helps.

  • Which 2.1 speaker system to choose?

    hi!
i'd like to invest Creative's 2.1 speaker system, but it's a bit hard to choose proper one as there're plenty of them available.
my criterions: quality and power to listen house and trance music.
    regards

If you search for quality and power then i recommend Cambridge SoundWorks MegaWorks THX 2.1 250D , you won`t be disappointed.
If you have good soundcard with SP/DIF coaxial output just hook it up with some Profigold or Monster digital coaxial cable and enyoj in the crystal clear sound.

  • A solution to the S750 speaker system problem

Well my s750 died just like everybody elses. But after creative wanted me to pay 75% of my purchase price, I found a better solution. Nope, I am not fixing the unit like you guy's. I do not see the need to fix a poorly design system! I am not sure if creative or indigo/bash/blade audio is to be blamed. But if I had to pick, I would say "indigo/bash/blade audio". Years ago before blade audio became indigo, I had a chance to visit their location in ontario Canada. This was just when they stop making the blade audio car amps.
While I was there, I happened to see this long list of brand names they had started to make amp modules for. Names like Harman International, Klipsch and so on. Anyway I cast the blame on indigo for this reason: Some years ago I had purchased a set of "harman international" infinity IL series speakers. Like our creative s750, the infinity shares a bash powered subwoofer system. And just like the s750 the infinity subwoofer like to blow up too! In the case of the infinity, the power supply was the weak link. The amp module in the infinity at that time, was built just like the blade audio car amps before. Which in my opinion is a much better design than what is being used in the s750. I remember one of the sale guy at circuit city at the time saying, "I wish we would drop this model". He went on to tell me the failure on the powered units were very high. You know there is a problem when the mid level Creative Inspire T7700 7.1, out last the flagship s750. Now, whats my better solution you guy's want to know? Two words , Simplifi Digital! The 7075a 7.1 amplifier along with Definitive Technology Pro Sub1000 and the remaing surround speakers from my s750 system. Yes, it did cost me more to go this route. But what I now have is a much more reliable system. And a sound that the s750 can only dream about. My s750 died while I was listening to Dave Bruebeck quartet "take five" at mid volume. With my current setup, I can listen mid volume all day long with no hiccups.
For those who my have the cash to spend. I recommend looking at my direction!? Keep this in mind, make sure whatever powered subwoofer you choose, is adjustable up to 50hz. The creative surround speakers dont play very well below 20hz. Also make sure whatever powered sub you choose don't use a BASH amplifier. For those looking at the s750 as a purchase, good luck. Or go over to partsexpress.com and get the Dayton Part Number 300-670, surround speakers. Then get the simplifi digital 7075 7.1 amplifier and power subwoofer of your choice and make a better/best system. Sorry Creative Labs! This post is NOT intended to cast negativity. I use and like the products you offer. I just do not like the s750, and the reasons are all over this forum and elsewhere on the net. I currently own 3 audigy 2zs sound cards, three Inspire t7700 speaker system, three sound blasters modems and yes, one defective/dead s750 speaker system. If anything use this post as a positive to what Creative Labs could offer in the future. A system like I now have, sure would be nice with the Creative name all over it.

My system specs below. What I have now simply blows the S750 away. And this is mated to my Audigy 2zs card. I am tempted to try my Terratec Aueron 7.1 universe which does sound better than my 2zs. The Simlifi Digital amplifier is one serious unit. This amp has one HUGE toroidal transformer inside of it! I was able to see it thru the vents on top of the cover. Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 Subwoofer Specifications:Complement: One 10" woofer with polymer cone coupled to one 10" infrasonic radiator

  • Connecting Inspire 5200 to X-Fi Xtreme Noteb

    Hi,?
I have a set of creative Inspire 5200 5. speaker and I want to connect them to my notebook with the X-Fi Xtreme Notebook card.
Before buying the card, I want to make sure I can connect the speaker to the speaker docking module and I also want to know if I can connect my Xbox 360 optical cable to the card to have a 5. sound with the speaker.
If anyone know if this will work or know a better way to connect all of this please let me know.
    Thx.

Lazy to search? It's been here (and there) 'bout thousand times already so it shouldn't be hard to find...
?....actually no,i thought my post clearly stated that i had seen conflicting posts and diagrams with regards to which was the right way to conenct the headers to the pins, and i was just looking for clarification. I apologise if i wasent clear in enough in this. Anyway, thankyou for taking yor time to respond and i will look into the link you gave me and see if its a good solution. Incidenatlly, another thought occured to me this morning. As i have the t7900 wired remote sat on my desk its entirely possible to run a?3.5mm male/female jack extension from the mic input of my x-fi card and place it next to my wired remote, having the mic jack of headset in this extension, and the headphones jack in the wired remote input.....is this a viable solution, and would this not compromise quality?again ty for your time. sc_

  • Issues with Creative Speaker Systems 7700 and 7800

I have had very little success with Creative Inspire T7700 and P7800 speaker systems. The problems started when the left rear channel on my T7700 stopped working. I spent an hour or so localizing it down to the multi channel amplifier that's located in the sub woofer cabinet. I swapped the speakers around to see if the speaker was blown and I swapped the T7700 to my other computers to see if the problem was in my sound card (I have 3 computers 2 of them have Audigy cards and one of them has an X-FI sound card). The problem stayed with the left rear channel so it is definitely the T7700. Since it was off warranty I went and bought a P7800. After getting it home and unpacking all the speakers and making all the connections I found the left front channel non functional. I took that system back to the retailer and they exchanged it for another P7800. I brought that one home and found the right rear channel to be non functional. I returned that to the retailer and got my money back. I have several older speaker systems from Creative including a nice 5.1 channel system (the 5200) that has worked flawlessly for many years. My question is this: Why is the quality of these newer speaker systems so poor? And has anyone else had this kind of problem? So far I am living with the dead channel on the T7700 but would like to eventually get everything working again.

    p3dlow,
Any speaker system that can receive input from a single 3.5mm stereo minijack should work with a MP3 player. Are you looking for a 2.1, 2.0, portable or docking station? Btw, exactly which player do you have?
