Which Supporting Components do I need if I only want to Install and run Photoshop from CS4?
Does anyone know which "Supporting Components" are necessary for me to run Photoshop? I want to do a custom install and ONLY install Photoshop from my CS4 install disk. I only want to install what I need and nothing more. It gives me the option to install the following Supporting Components:

Error message says need Adobe reader 8 or 9 installed to open pdfs from web pages yet Reader 9 is alredy installed on computer. Is this a 64 bit ossue although I am sure I did not have this problem prior to a replacement hard drive being installed.

I downloaded and installed Airport Express Utility 5.6 to get my old Airport Express to work with the latest Mac OSX 10.7.4, but when I install and run it, it still says my Airport Express is out-of-date and needs the 5.6 utility. What's up?
It is likely that you downloaded AirPort Utility 5.6.1. If you checked the requirements, this only runs on Leopard or Snow Leopard Macs.
You have Lion, so you need AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion -

Keynote '09 is compatible with your computer, but you won't get the latest Keynote version running that version. As you have an Early 2008 MacBook, first I recommend you to update to Mac OS X Snow Leopard to get newer versions of all applications but without losing any applications > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Make a backup before upgrading.
The DVD contains Mac OS X 10.6.3, so after upgrading, open > Software Update to update to 10.6.8. Then, you will get access to the App Store.
However, the Keynote version available in the App Store is only compatible with OS X 10.7.5 or newer, so now you have two options:
1. Upgrade to OS X Lion and purchase Keynote from the App Store.
2. Keep Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard, and buy Keynote on a DVD in eBay or Amazon. Note that you won't be running the most recent Keynote version, but it doesn't mind (the latest version only adds iCloud support) -

Do i need a network card in my computer to install and run a local Java Web Server or any Web Server.network cards are only for connecting equipment together... you can set up a webserver without any more equipment than you have already! Indeed Tomcat... BUT you would be better off with apache for production stuff. It depends what you need to serve... if its mainly static pages (i guess it probably isn't) then apache will be enough by itself; but if you need to serve dynamic pages (JSP, Servlet blah blah) then you will need tomcat. Tomcat has it's own webserver and its perfectly ok for testing or low-load stuff, but you can integrate with Apache (a moderately compex task, but do-able, see tomcat-user forum off of apache site) for greater stability, and you don't have to show the port in the URL... Don't set up a webserver on any pc that contains stuff you don't want hacked into... it becomes very succeptible when the service is up...

How can I know about the latest updates / versions which when available for all the CC products, without having to install and check it with the Desktoip Creative Cloud Application ?

I work with an Inventory module software and is responsible for software detection across several computers. Once an updated version comes up, I update our database with latest software details to get it detected if installed on any machines.
The problem tracking updates with Desktop Creative Cloud Software are;
1)We have to have it installed with the CC applications in-order to get the notification of the latest updates and have to check everyday.
2)Only relates to the latest updates, so in-between we may miss a prior update unknowingly.Hence, the remote machines having those updates may not get detected with the software version update which would create problem in reporting.
3)For all CC products, there is no base or previous updates available for installation if we miss one.
I went through the Adobe Products Update pages [Product updates] which holds good when it comes to Acrobat and Reader software which I follow to track down any newer updates but this is inconsistent when it comes to CC products like in After Effects CC, Dreamweaver CC etc...
So overall to be very specific, is there any one channel I can follow to get the notifications only for the updates on CC products and then may be I can rely on Desktop Creative Cloud for installation if not available anywhere like in product update pages of Adobe ?

9. 02 are ok on the G5 PPC as it is universal Binary, while I hear 9.1 wont work.ok thanks, that's what I tought,looks like apple machines are only good for two - three years, the software developers are ahead of the hardware to a certain point, love macs but this is forcing us to buy new macs just to keep up with development. There was a time it was the opposite.
By the time we get up on new stuff it's time to change again. Gotta be rich to deal with macs ...LOL -

Hi! Just got my new ihpone 4 yesterday, but i'm having issues in texting a specific contact. sending sms or iMessages works perfectly fine with all my contacts apart from 1,which is even using my same network, though i can call it and receive sms from it. What could the problem be?

Altivec Fractal Carbon gives the CPU too much chance to cool down. I've got other ways to drive the CPU to sustained 100% load. Yes, the fans speed up, but it's still pretty quiet. I've run it at 100% for hours.
I like the idea of taking things gradually. If you can wait a few days before making big changes, it can make things much easier. 3-4 weeks is very conservative, but great if you have that much patience.
My Quad has been up full-time since I got it. Works perfectly.
