Which swype app should I download from the Market?

I know this isn't a huge deal, but I just want the best swype app that comes standard with the other android phones...from your experiece which is the best to download from the app market?

go to swype's website. they have an open beta version right now and i loaded it on my inc and it worked great. it's not an official app in the market. you have to get it from swype themselves. you register and they email you instructions. it's real easy to download and install though.

There were some updates on my Apps.  I updated them on my iTunes but my iPad did not get the same downloads/updates thru iCloud.  Does the iCloud only works for "New" Apps or Books downloaded from the store but not the "Updates"?

Purchased music does not count against your iCloud storage and you cannot get rid of them in the purchased tab.
    What is backed up
You get unlimited free storage for:
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Notes: Backup of purchased music is not available in all countries. Backups of purchased movies and TV shows are U.S. only. Previous purchases may not be restored if they are no longer in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
Some previously purchased movies may not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. These movies will indicate that they are not available in iTunes in the Cloud on their product details page in the iTunes Store. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.

  • Why are my apps that i downloaded from the app store not showing up on my phone?

i have download 3 apps from the app store on my iPhone4s. when they are finished downloading, it gives you the option to open it from the app store but it refuses to do so. when you check on the page of your phone apps, the apps don't show up.

Have you tried restarting your phone? You could also try a reset: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • Verizon incredible blocks the install as it is not downloaded from the market, how can I get around this?

Verizon Droid Incredible running android 2.1 will not allow the install as it was not downloaded via android market. Is there a way around this, or is there a version in the market?

In the Android "Settings" app, go to "Applications" and check the box labeled "Unknown sources." This will allow installation of non-Market apps.
Some carriers (like AT&T) disable this setting, but I don't think that Verizon does.

  • "Firefox.app" is an application which was downloaded from the Internet...

This is a topic that has been posted before but I'm creating a new one because the previous discussion is closed and none of the answers solved my problem.
Each and every time I launch Firefox, I receive the following warning, - “Firefox.app” is an application which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?"
For the record, I have tried the following fixes with no success:
    - Removed the Firefox folder from user/library/application support both as a user and as an admin.
    - I logged in to the Mac as an admin. and launched Firefox. The message continues to pop up after doing this, while still logged in as admin.
    - I logged in to the Mac as an admin, went to Terminal and listed the attributes. The "com.apple.quarantine" attribute does exist, however, when I tried removing it with (xattr -d com.apple.quarantine <FILE NAME>), I am told that the attribute DOESN'T exist. Huh?
I am trying to avoid completely removing Firefox and doing a fresh install but it may come down to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I had a similar problem with another application. I downloaded an update to an application from the developer, and then got this message every time I ran the program. There's a script to disable this behavior entirely on MacWorld's macosxhints site.
I didn't want to disable this behavior for good, just for this one program. I realized that I had downloaded it as one user, but the first use (of the update) was as a different user. I logged in under the user ID that I used when I downloaded the application and ran the program. After that, the warning went away.
My guess is that you did something similar. Log in as the user ID you used when you first downloaded the updated FireFox and run the program. The warning should go away.
If you can't remember which user ID you used, try the brute force approach - log in as each of your user IDs and run FireFox.
    Good luck!

  • Why should I "Sign in to download from the App Store"

Why does this pop up on my screen:  "Sign in to download from the App Store" when I am NOT trying to download an app or anything?  It interrupts my work, and looks questionable?

    second mouse wrote:
Thank you thomas_r.  I did what you mentioned, and in System Preferences, it said:  "The App Store keeps OS X and apps from the App Store up to date."  I did not realize that OS X updates are now being done through the App Store, so I updated preferences so OS X updates will automatically download.  I hope now I do not get these sign-in messages, and my computer stays up to date!
i have my App Store set so that nothing is automatically downloaded, and I have never gotten the type of popup you mentioned. Depending on your system, you could end up with unwanted upgrades by using the automatic setting. The App Store recently updated EVERY instance of Evernote on my Mac Pro, rendering it unusable on two io the drives. There are a few updates that you might not want at all, such as iTunes 12. Setting it on automatic gives you NO control.
It is a fairly dumb updater. I was able to retrieve an earlier version of Evernote from a backup, but was not pleased at the behavior of the update process. Even Adobe's updaters aren't that bad.

  • Sign in to download from the App Store screen has the wrong Apple ID- grayed out. How can I change it?

When I have a software update notification and I go to the 'Updates" tab of the App Store and click 'update',  the flash screen 'Sign in to download from the App Store comes up the the Apple ID is wrong and grayed out so I can't change it.  Where is the bogus Apple ID stored? How can I 'ungray' it to make it editable?
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on an IMAC 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

Is the computer yours, and are you the Administrator or a user with administrator rights? Are you allowed to install software on the computer?

Downloading from the App Store the message "There was an error in the app store.  Try again later (4)'. Then 'unexpected error'.
I've been getting this message now for the last couple of days.  I can download other apps on my phone with the same apple ID but have now experienced this on my Mac firstly when downloading Yosemite immediately after being asked for my ID password, and then having tested with a couple of other apps, so it's not related to the download.
I'm using OS X 10.9.5 on a Mac Book Air.
I've shut down on a number of occasions and tried again
App Store is version 1.3 (201.7)

Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and test. If there's no change, restore the item you deleted from a backup, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, you may need to recreate some of your settings in the Network preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Unable to download "Not Shareable" app on their own from the App Store once Family Sharing enabled

    iOS 8.0.2 iPhone 6
I finally decided to take advantage of Family Sharing and it has (unfortunately) created a few problems in trying to solve others.
Apparently there are Apps deemed "Not Shareable" (see image below).
These Apps will not appear in the Purchased list of your Shared Family member; which makes sense even though I do not understand why it is so…especially Free apps.
However, the problem is the App Store itself is also affected by the Purchased History. This results in "Free" and "Buy" buttons of all Apps (purchased previously by your family member) being replaced with download from the cloud buttons even though you have not ever purchased the app with your Apple ID.
You will then get the following error every time you try and download the "Not Shareable" App from the App Store directly (as an independent purchase):
In other words, for example, the Amazon App is a free app but it is labeled "Not Shareable." Fine, I would like to buy it on it's own with a my Apple ID from the App Store (independently of whatever my family members bought). I cannot! I will get the above error every time. A work around is using a desktop and iTunes but it didn't work the first time…so keep trying. And Apple, please help/fix ASAP!

Thanks for the responses.  I actually ended up turning off Family Sharing because I found this to be really annoying, and for other reasons.  I was able to download Uber for my wife from iTunes on her PC laptop with Automatic App Downloads turned on on her iPhone.
The other problem I'm having, and the reason I switched off Family Sharing, is with store credit.  I have a lot of gift card credit on my account, but when my family makes purchases, the gift card credit is not deducted first before charging my card.  Not sure if there is a way to change that but I couldn't figure it out.

I am unable to download from the APP store. I get an error message saying my computer is not verified and click support under quick links..

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
