Which system will I get when I do R&R?

Hello everyone, I have a Lenovo T61 that came preloaded with windows Vista buisness. After a couple of years of using this, lots of junk has gathered up on my computer and rather than going through and deleting thousands of files manually I want to revert my thinkpad back to default factory settings. I understand the process of using R&R to access the computer's hidden partition and restore the computer, etc, etc. But I'm wondering if my system will boot up Windows XP instead of Vista? I have searched a lot and have found very vague answers alluding to either side. I have found very little information about this.
Has anyone gone through with this procedue who can confirm anything?

Longinus, welcome to the forum,
if, as you state, your system came preloaded with Vista running the R&R recovery will reinstall the Vista OS to the factory settings.

From this we can come to the conclusion that, whether to use one index or not by oracle
would also depend on the data which is present in the table. This has to be this way as
we see in the bind peeking, if oracle sticks to only one plan, say only use the full table
scan, it would be a performance hit when it searches for the second query ie where object_name
='emp';

If we have a query like below.

where upper(ename) = upper(:p_ename);
Evenif we have the index on ename column, oracle wouldn't be able to use the index, as there is a function in the predicate column. If you need oracle to use the index, we need to create a function based index as below.
Create index idx_ename on emp(upper(ename));

I have a question to ask although I haven't tested this one.
Suppose I have three taskflows. TF1, TF2 and TF3.
In both TF2 and TF3, I declared an object in pageFlowScope with the same name in their BTF managed bean configurations.
Now, supposed in TF1 BTF page and in an action listener of a button, I do something like this.
ADFContext adfCtx = ADFContext.getCurrent();
Map<String, Object> pageFlowParams = adfCtx.getPageFlowScope();
AnObject anObject = (AnObject)pageFlowParams.get("anObject"); Which object will I get? Is it from TF2 or TF3?
All of these Taskflows(TF1,TF2,TF3) will be dropped into a webcenter page as a region.
Thoughts?

If you have TF1, TF2, TF3 then you have next scopes: PF1,PF2,PF3.
Accesing to PageFlowScope depends of where is your code. If you are invoking your code into your ADF JAR Library of TF1 you are accesing to PF1 etc...
If your code is as the Portal level then you are accesing to Portal PageFlowScope.
However, to be sure that this is true you can do a little sample (it no takes more than 10 minutes).

Windows 8 and Canvio Desk 3TB: System will not boot when external hdd is connected

just recently upgraded to Win Pro on my HP PAVILION A6109N. I also bought a toshiba canvio desk 3TB. What I notice is that if I reboot my pc with the extermnal HDD connected, my system will not boot.
I have check my BIOS boot settings and the order of the boot.
I have tried disabling USB Legacy Support in the BIOS
I have reformatted the external HDD
but still my desktop will not boot if the external HDD is connected....If I disconnect the external HDD...the system will boot up ....
I am at a loss....*** scratching my head ***

Update: The only solution for me was to format the drive as ext3 and plug it into one of my Asus RT-N66U USB ports, as most routers don’t yet recognize 3TB drives as NTFS. It’s not much help to people who don’t have a router with this capability, and it also slows transfer rates to ~12MB/s.
Given the short length of the cable, your only other options are to have the 3TB Canvio sitting right next to you so you can unplug from a front USB port before each boot, or place it towards the rear of your desk and crawl under the desk to disconnect it from your PC prior to each boot.
It's a pity because Toshiba produce great internal HDD's, but my experience when it comes to external drives is they're simply junk. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.

So I used the ejbCreate() method to initialize the variables, but it is called only first time when I call the home.create(). If I call the home.create() method next time it doesn't call the ejbCreate().

first of all Ejbcontainers maintain a pool of stateless sessionbeans .when you call home.create() the ejbCreate () method is definitely called and you said you are initializing some variable and may be you are trying to retrive that value after home.create() method.. when you try to retrive the value thee value may be same as you have initialized or different depending upon the no of stateless session beans in the container. you have created a bean and there is no guarantee that the same bean will be called when you invoke retrieval method..

Just kidding, I will keep it around because the Verizon techs get horribly confused when you use equipment they didn't give you. I could tell you stories about getting DSL service with my netgear DSL modem (not for the modem, it worked great, but with it in the loop the V techies were greatly confused) that would make your head spin around.

last week i sent my 3rd gen 40gb ipod in to apple because of the battery issue. will apple send me a new/refurbished 3rd gen 40gb? or something newer? it doesn't really make sense to send another of the same ipod when it will just have another battery failure in the future.

I have an HP 8000 Elite sff that will not boot after installing the adapter. I am running XP sp3. As soon as I remove the adapter, it boots fine.???

Which adapter ? Aironet 350 or CB21 ?
Do you have another similar adapter to put in the laptop to try ?
