Which traditional daq example will be best for thermocouple temp measurements?

Hi,
i have a PCI 4351 card connected to a TBX 68T connector block which is used to measure the temp using thermocouples. it uses an analogue input from the thermocouples, but the card is only compatible with traditional daq programming.
i have looked at the example finder, and under the folder 'Hardware and software' click the sub folders 'traditional daq', then click 'analogue input' and finally click the 'general' sub folder and you will see a list of example vi's, if you have the traditional daq installed. but i do not know which will be of great benefit to my work. please help.
does anyone know of a good example that i can use and relate to my work and devices? it would be of great help as i am new to daq.
thanks!
Notay

Hi Notay!
Sorry about that, thos sub Vi's are part of the analog in library of daq. Most likely you will only need the traditional daq driver and the correct configuration of your hardware. Im attaching the VI's, keep me updated of your results and if you need something else let me know.
Best of luck!

  • Which 15" MacBook Pro will be best for my planned use?

I am heading back to school and am required to get a MacBook Pro for class (I am a Design, Art & Technology - AKA Multimedia - major).  The suggested specs from the school are as follows:
    15-inch MacBook Pro
    2.7GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB GDDR5 memory
    8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
    750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
I am in the process of researching if this is the best computer for my needs.  I am upgrading from my current laptop - a 2.53 GHz 15" MacBook Pro from '09 with 4GB of RAM and 7200 RPM 750 GB HDD (upgraded from a 5200 RPM 250 GB HDD) running 10.6.8 - which has been holding up great for four years.  At this point though I need a second computer that has a quadcore processor.
    My normal/expected usage:
I will likely be working on projects in web design, some light game design, app design, interactive installation, etc. for class.  I anticipate working on video editing software and Photoshop as well.  I regularly use Ableton Live with an external audio interface, MIDI devices and third party plugins for music production (20 to 40+ track mixing & mastering) and may start to use it for live or interactive projects.  I run an external monitor as a second screen when at home and do a good amount of multitasking work with the second display where quickness switching between applications is key.
I stopped by the local Apple store today and had a conversation with one of the sales reps exploring the possibilities of deviating from my school's suggested bundle above.  We talked about the benefits of SSD's on performance but the drawbacks on storage size to $$ ratio (I need at least 500GB of storage space, preferably 700GB).  The rep suggested multiple times that the Retina display model would be best for me because it is a more durable computer and makes more sense than dropping the 2.7 GHz processor to a 2.6 GHz on the above recommendation and using the money to upgrade the hard drive to an SSD (since it would be a similar computer but without the hi-res screen).  But the Retina models were in stock, while the custom non-retina model I was considering building online was not, so I do not know if the rep was just doing his job as a salesperson and trying to move what the store had in stock...
What I am hoping to get opinions on is: Given my planned usage, will the school's suggestion be sufficient/will my downgrade of proccessing power to fund an SSD be insufficient/does it make sense to really stretch my budget and get the Retina 15" 2.7 GHz with 8GB RAM and 512/768 GB SSD?  Even with the educational pricing and my usage, I don't know if the upgrade to the Retina 15" is justified - but I am not very experienced in comparing computers.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  Thanks!

I say DITTO to what Clinton just told you, AND what woodmeister said.
As to use of the External HD  use same for all large media files, PDF , pics, movies etc.
Keep your internal SSD for programs and primary (use it every day) working files of small size.
Yes, I would replace the SSD as upgrade and RAM myself.
Ram takes 30 seconds to do, anyone can do that nearly with eyes closed.  EASY
SSD, youd need to use carbon copy cloner or likewise, clone your internal HD to the SSD, check with a boot to make sure all ok........then install the SSD, very easy, like Clinton said, .....done it many times.
    You asked:
Are you able to reference info on them without moving the data to the internal SSD?
Yes, you can alter, open close etc files off the external HD same as you can the internal SSD, however access speed will be slower, but plenty fast enough for anything you want to do, watch movies off same, work on/ alter/ create files on internal and then backup to external
You need an external HD at any rate for Time Machine backup, and backup in general. NEVER trust any internal HD, or a single copy of anything.
In fact you should always have at least 2 backups for data, in which case a 2nd external HD is highly recommended.

Keep in mind that all iPhone 5s currently available in the US are built for the US customer.  It is avaialable unlocked by US law.  This law does not extend beyond US borders.  If the iPhone becomes locked at some future date (this has happened), there will be no recourse.
My suggestion is to wait until Apple releases the factory unlocked iPhone 5s for the international market.

  • I have question about hooking up an external hdd to a time capsule and still have my printer hooked up as well. Anyone got any tips for me, how to do it and what brand of harddrive that will work best for me 1 or 2 TB

i have question about hooking up an external hdd to a time capsule and still have my printer hooked up as well. Anyone got any tips for me, how to do it and what brand of harddrive that will work best for me 1 or 2 TB

You just need a powered hub.. if you already use one then fine.
Plug in just about any external hard disk will work fine. Format has to be readable by the TC.. ie fat32.. or much better HFS+.. plug it into a Mac to prepare the drive.
Pick whatever size suits.. nowadays 2TB are most economical.
WD, Seagate have goobled up all the minor players.. so pick one.
Whatever suits your budget and asthetics.
NOTE.. The USB on the TC is fine for printers.. IMHO it is the wrong way to go with USB disks.. use the internal disk of the TC.. USB is less than half the native speed plugged into a Mac.. TC to USB is slow.. far slower than internal drive.. or using external drive as external.

  • Which version of Oracle database is best for Windows 7 Home Premium?

Any input as to which version of Oracle database is best for Windows Home premium? Is there a major difference between the express edition and 10g itself as far as the interface/learning purposes goes?

    EssbaseApprentice wrote:
Any input as to which version of Oracle database is best for Windows Home premium? That's easy to answer, none . No oracle database version was released for Home(Premimum) series. There are several blog posts/articles which do mention that they have installed oracle releases over Home(Premium) platforms but whether it would work or not, it would be just a lottery and help regarding troubleshooting would not be there.
Is there a major difference between the express edition and 10g itself as far as the interface/learning purposes goes? You mean 10g Express Edition and 10g Enterprise, Standard Editions? If yes, then there is indeed difference. The Express edition is more like a developer's playground with a good looking GUI even there to administer it. EE or SE are the production releases , meant for being used in a very busy, highly concurrent environments. There would be additional features like RAC and Dataguard that would come with EE and wont be there in the XE. So if you are learning to become a production DBA, you should right away use EE or SE IMO .

As John suggested you should properly post this question in an Visual Studio forum:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=visualstudiogeneral&filter=alltypes&sort=lastpostdesc
Visual C++, C#, VB.Net are all running on the DOT.NET enviroment and are different languages that have no difference in functionality.
C and C++ does not run on the DOT.NET platform, but directly on the CPU.
C# does also deals with processes and threads, and you can load DLL's at runtime/compile time if you want.
    C# also have console applications.

  • Which application of Netweaver will be useful for JAVA professionals

    Hi,
I am new to Netweaver and need to know which application of netweaver will be useful for me. I am basically a JAVA Programmer.
What exactly i can learrn in netweaver. EP,Webdynpro or XI.
    Regards,
    Sujan.

    Hi,
Netweaver Portal(EP) is a frontend which provides one solid interface to all your applications, whether they are SAP or not. It runs on the java platform.
You can develop pure j2ee applications using the Netweaver Developer Studio, it has plug-ins which help in developing SAP technologies such as Web Dynpro, but you don't have to use it, you can develop your application using pure java technologies like EJB, jsp, etc. It also provides a solution for deploying your apps to the web application server.
In EP & WebDynPro, you can easily code if you have Java knowledge.Java is a big part of being a Portal Developer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Which availability check procedure will be approprite for Pharma industries

    Hello All,
I am working with a Pharma client.
Please suggest me which availability check procedure will be approprite for Pharma industries.
Depending ATP or On Product Allocation.
    Thanking you in anticipation.
    Regards
    Venkat

    Hi,
ATP is a basic availability check which have limited functionality. GATP is a more dynamic checking which is suitable for real-time availability check, which is more appropriate for pharmaceutical industry.
The basic differences between the two checking systems are:
    APO GATP:
    - Check for several Online Transaction Processing (OLTP)
    - Uses Live Cache Technology
    - Advanced Basic method
    - No restriction for combination of basic methods
    - Rules-based substitution
    - ATP check in several locations ("global")
    - Advanced backorder processing
    - Call of production possible
    ERP ATP:
    - Check possible only in an ERP system
    - Uses database tables or shared buffer (ERP server)
    - Basic methods
    - Restriction for combinations of basic methods
    - Standard substitutions
    - Check only in one location
    - Restricted backorder processing
    - No call of production possible
This topic has been discussed before in the forum.

  • I'm a recently graduated film student and my macbook pro needs an upgrade... Will be using FCPX, Adobe CS6 etc. Which 15' macbook pro will be best suited for me? I'm most concerned about the processor speeds (what do they really mean in english?)

I need a new 15" MBP for film editing. The processor speed numbers are confusing.

The Tech Specs for the MBPr are here:http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs-retina/ and you can see both 15" models come with the i7 processor, one at 2.0 and the other at 2.3 GHz.  The processors are identical except for the clock speed, which directly indicates how many calculations a second they can perform.  If you are doing things like editing or rendering or ray tracing, heavy duty computational things, the faster the processor, the less time it takes to do the task.
But the 2.3 GHz machine has even more, twice the memory and twice the storage capacity.  With film work that will get to be important since you can load more directly into memory where it is readily accessible to the processor, and twice the storage so you do not have to move material to an external drive so soon.  Both of which will contribute to faster workload turn around for you.
For your needs, the faster machine with twice the memory and twice the SSD storage will be the thing you need.  And, keep in mind that the MBP cannot be upgraded after purchase like in the past.  So get all you will need now at the time of purchase.

  • Which of these stereos will work best w/ my iPhone 4 in my 2003 Chevy S10?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new stereo deck for my 2003 Chevy S10 that will work with my iPhone 4. Which of these do you think would do the trick the best? Thanks a lot!
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/part-finder/slide-show/2003/Chevrolet/S10/ref=aupf_dp_lf_lad_14?ie=UTF8&partsNode=10980621&carId=001

You're probably not going to get a good answer in here as this is a forum specifically for the iPhone, and not car stereo head units. My suggestion is to read the user reviews on Amazon or Crutchfield.com and make sure the unit you're interested in works with iP4. It seems with each OS update, some car stereo units no longer work with the iP4.

  • Which version of Flash Player is best for Powerbook G4 10.5.8?

    Hi,
    I have a Powerbook g4 17" 1.67ghz with 2gb of ram and 128mb video.
I thought this would be pretty good on the web but even basic video clips play poorly.
Looking around flash seeems to be the culprit so is it better to run an older version of flash or is there anything i can do?
Also how can i tell which version i am running?
    Thnaks.

I'm afraid nothing will completely fix streaming video problems on any PPC-based Mac since web video is now optimised for Intel processors. Probably the best functionality you can hope for is by following Texas Mac Man's advice in this recent thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/17558876#17558876
The hack Tom has found has some advantages over the standard Flash Player version when used in conjunction with specific websites.
To find out which version of Flash you currently have installed open a Flash video stream and control click on the window. Amongst other things this will display the version information.

    Hi,
I'm about to buy a 1 TB drive for my Mac Pro to increase storage space for video files and not sure which one would suit me best out of the:
Seagate BarracudaNL NL35 Hard drive 1 TB Internal 3.5" SATA300 7200 rpm buffer 32 MB
    or
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 Hard drive 1 TB Internal 3.5" SATA300 7200 rpm buffer: 32 MB
Any opinions on which is best or if you think there is a better drive out there in the same price range?
I'm in a bit of a hurry so quick responses would be great.
    Thanks

You are in a hurry... so?
Where to get benchmarks and more than just personal ideas and opinions, check out AMUG Reviews along with Barefeats along with AccelerateYourMac along with sites and forums that deal in video. StorageReview has usually done excellent review coverage but has slowed down but they looked at what is going on with Seagate line lately.

It isn't just what to buy, but where, and firmware. Samsung, Hitachi (latest model) and I wish WD would get their latest Black series. OWC checks to insure Seagate drives have the latest firmware as they have been problematic (for years now on Macs).

  • Which of these iMacs would be best for running After Effects?

Hello, pretty simple question, which of these 2 iMac configurations would be best suited for using After Effects and other video editing software like Premiere or Final Cut Pro X?
    Option 1 - 21.5 inch
3.1GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
    16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X8GB
    1TB Fusion Drive
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1GB GDDR5
    Option 2 - 27 inch
3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
    8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X4GB
    1TB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2GB GDDR5
For some reason Apple don't offer more than 1GB of dedicated video ram in anything but the maxed out 27inch. Personally, I’m not fussed about the bigger screen and I would say that having the faster processor, double the ram and a fusion drive would be more beneficial than the extra gig in the video card but I’m not 100% sure, what do you guys think? Thanks.

You need 16GB of ram for AE. Whether you get the 27 or 21 you still need that much ram. AE only uses the Ray Tracer for specific processes that are often not used. I would not worry so much about the GPU with this. Take the higher CPU and atleast 16GB of ram though 32GB is ideal.

  • Which hard drive config is the best for an existing system?

    Hy there,
    We have this system:
DELL PRECISION T3500 64 BITS CPU
    INTEL XEON W3520 2.67GHZ  266 MHZ 4 CORE - 12 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GEFORCE GTS450
    MATROX RTX2 - 5.1.2.8
    PREMIERE PRO CS5 (5.02)
    WINDOWS 7 PRO
    SYSTEM HD 500 MB
    With this HD config:
B: EXPORT (partioned with C:) - 7200 rpm (250GB) sata - to this HD we export all final media
    C: SYSTEM (partioned with B:) - 7200 rpm (250GB) sata
D:AV - PROJECTS + SCRATCH (MEDIA PREVIEWS) - 1 TB sata - here are the captured audio/video, Premiere projects, previews, mxtemp, etc.
Now we will install another 3TB 7200 rpm Barracuda HD, so we need to reorganize everithing in way to eliminate the partition (?) and redirect  everithing for a better result.
So which config we must to use with ?
    Thanking beforehand
    ALBERTO

Thanks Harm for your prompt answer,
We will rearrange the discs and use the 3TB HD for the Media and Projects.
Hypotesis: The 3500 have an external e-sata connector, if we'll connect an extra 7200 rpm HD the performance won't fall in case the Preview and Exports were alocated there?

  • Which countries Lumia 2520 will work best in Austr...

So Nokia aren't releasing the 2520 in Australia.
The question I have is which country do I buy one from; the United States or United Kingdom to get the best compatability with 4G bands with Telstra in Australia.
The US 2520 has products specs quoting the following bands:
    LTE network bands: 2, 4, 5, 17
The UK 2520 has products specs quoting the following bands:
    LTE network bands: 3, 7, 20
The Lumia 1020 uses the following bands in Australia:
    LTE network bands3: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20
This seems to suggest the UK is a closer match but still misses two bands, I just don't know if those are Optus or Telstra.
But I'll be damned if I can find any info from Telstra to try and match the bands they use with these devices.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
    Thanks!

    Hi there
I'd seen this article; I think the references to it such as B1 or B40 are the same as the bands listed on the Nokia site.
IF that was right then it shows that the missing bands do seem to be Telstra based ones.
The bit I don't understand is how to then translate that information in to an implication for coverage if you don't have those bands enabled.
Thanks for the link though it did help move it forward a bit further,
