Which Traffic Analyzer is good?

Hi All,
Right now we are using OpenNMS to get alerts and traffic view for our All Cisco network. I want to deploy deep packet inspection product to have more idea about top talkers, application response time and application bandwidth usage, etc. I don't want to utilize netflow in router and switch. Kind of worry put more load on the device. I would like just setup SPAN or use tap to mirror the traffic and the monitoring device can analyze the traffic or capture the traffic.
Does anyone use ntop's product like nBox, nProbe, Recorder? I know there are lots of netflow analyzer software, but I don't want to configure netflow in Cisco. We would like try cheaper solution before we go to the expensive commercial ones. The throughput I will monitor is around 500Mbps.
Any recommendation? Really appreciated!
Lou

It doesn't really matter which country your hosting service is located in so long as they offer 24/7 tech support in your chosen language. Telephone support is usually free of charge to you.

  • Need RFC which can post the Goods Receipt

    Hi,
My scenario is to post the Goods receipt, by using file and after posting the Goods Receipt i want the acknowledgement whether it is successful or unsuccessful. There is an idoc MBGMCR02 which can post the Goods Receipt but application acknowledgement is not possible in file to idoc scenario, so now i am searching for a RFC so that i can handle this situation using BPM synchronous process. Kindly suggest any RFC or BAPI which can post the Goods Receipt.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,
As per my understanding this is a "File To (Inbound) Proxy" scenario, in which you can use the BAPI "SD_SHIPMENT_POST_GOODS_ISSUE" to do the PGI into R/3 system.
To perform this, you can go-ahead with the steps as mentioned below:
    Source (XI) System:
    1. Create the source & target data type in XI.
    2. Do required mapping in XI.
    3. In configuration directory, use the adapter type "XI" on the receiver communication channel.
    Target (R/3) System:
    1. Call transaction "SPROXY".
    2. Create the interface class (double click on Inbound message Interface, inside your namespace in R/3).
    3. Inside the class (proxy), create an internal table to keep all the records which will be coming from XI after your mapping.
    4. Pass all the data to above create internal table.
    5. Now, call function module "SD_SHIPMENT_POST_GOODS_ISSUE" and pass all required data from ur internal table to this FM (BAPI).
Note: Kindly read about this FM (BAPI) first in SE37 under "Function Module Documentation".
    6. Do commit work after calling the FM (BAPI).
I hope this will help you to resolve all your queries.

You can use the Tab key to select a search engine on the bottom bar and press Enter to use the search engine to do the search.
In the current Firefox 34 release there is a new "one-off" search bar.
This search bar doesn't show the name of the search engine and a logo.
You can type one letter to make a drop-down list appear where you can see suggestions and see the used search engine and that also has bar at the bottom where you can select other search engines that are enabled via the Search tab in Options/Preferences.
You can use the Tab key to select one of the other available search engines and press the Enter key to search with the selected search engine.
Click the search engine icon and click "Change Search Settings" to open the Search tab in Options/Preferences (positioned between Tabs and Content) to select the default search engine and select which search engines to show in the search bar drop-down list that opens when you start typing search terms.

If we configure as destination X.X.X.X wihout source about Cisco Prime NAM, will have that appear in traffic analyzer as ip Destination correctly, but is backwards.

    Hi,
Till now only Cisco ASA 5580 Series uniquely addresses the challenge of high-performance security event handling through advancements in Cisco's NetFlow v9 technology.

  • PowerBook G4 15" Titanium very slow. I want to resurrect it for basic functionality. Is rebooting from original start up discs (which I have) a good plan? And if so, what's the procedure?

My PowerBook G4 15" Titanium runs very slow. I want to resurrect it's basic functionality. I am the second respectful owner. Is rebooting from the original Mac OS discs (which I have) a good plan? And if so, what's the procedure? I'm not concerned at this point with security vis-a-vis what will be left on the hard drive, but only with re-optimizing the little beauty for core tasks. Thanks!

As a respectful lover of PPC macs, still having a fully functional one, a 2004 12-in PB, let me ask first some details: RAM installed, disk size. I assume it is running 10.2, as described.
RAM is crucial for upgrading the system, 256 MB is absolute minimum for Tiger, best 512 or, ideally, 1 GB. There were 4 generations of tibooks, beginning with Jan. 2001 through Oct. 2003, which one is yours? The CPU is also important, as the last series may also run Leopard, not only Tiger.
    As a basic thought:
    - if the first tiBook, with 1 GB memory, you will beautifully run Tiger, Leo may not run due to low CPU
    - with the last, with 1 GB memory, you may run both Tiger and Leo, for which 867 Mhz is the minimum.
Of course the original CDs are good, if 10.2, you must be having the last generation, which is of course faster than the earlier ones, so may also install Leopard. I would make a fresh, erase-and-install procedure, and see what is that slowness you mention. Jaguar should run OK on that model, and fast enough, but do the last update too, i.e. 10.2.8

  • Which mac pc is good for iPad development in between mac mini or mac book pro

which mac pc is good for iPad development in between mac mini or mac book pro so give me details which is much more better for ios development

The best thing for iOS development is your imagination. Coming up with unique creative apps is what’s most important. I've had a mini since they first came out, and I think it's the best desktop around. However you may not want a desktop because you're more mobile when you work on apps. With the mini you can use a much bigger screen (I use a 80 inch) but the laptop has a slightly better processor (if you decide to pay extra for it). I'm learning app development also and a laptop would drive me crazy, but it's a personal choice, so you first need to decide where you are going to be while you're developing. If it’s at home or a office then the mini might be better. The mini and the macbook pro are both two incredible products. I don’t think you can make a wrong decision as far as which one handles app design better. They’re both great in that department.

  • UDP traffic analyzed in L4 traffic monitor?

    Dear all,
I just wonder if anyone knows whether UDP traffic is analyzed by the WSA's L4 traffic monitor?
It just tells "all ports" in the settings and reports also only reflect port numbers but no details like
    which protocol (tcp/udp).
    Anyone?
    Best,
    Hascha

UDP ports will not be blocked.
The L4TM will use the T1 interface to detect traffic to destinations that are on its blacklist.  Once detected, the the data interface on the WSA will send a packet with the TCP reset flag to the client to prevent a TCP connection.
I have not tested this so someone correct me if I am wrong.  I am answering this based on my understanding of the L4TM feature, and how it works.  Since UDP is connectionless, there is no connection for it to kill.
Now this makes me wonder about the Monitor feature though.  But I am almost certain it will not block if the action is set to block.
I'll check this out when I'm in the office and will get back to you.

  • Which Macbook Pro is good for a college student?

    Hi!
I want to buy the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display. My current laptop has 455 gb in which I only used 83 gb of it since the past 5 years I've been using it. I know that the original macbook pro is good too but its way heavier than the Macbook pro with retina display and therefore its easier for me to carry the macbook pro with retina display to school. Also it has 9 hour battery which is very good.
I will be storing music (2000+ songs), pictures, school documents (word, powerpoint, etc). I rarely do video editing or photo editing. I often have 3+ programs open while using the laptop and have 3+ tabs open on internet.
There are 2 Macbook Pro's that I am having troubles choosing from:
1.13-inch: 2.4GHz with Retina display... It has 2.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.9GHz, 4GB 1600MHz memory, and 128GB PCIe-based flash storage.
2.13-inch: 2.4 GHz with Retina display... It has 2.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.9 GHz, 8GB 1600MHz memory, and 256GB PCIe-based flash storage.
I am planning on using this mac for a long-term use... but also know that I can buy an external storage when I run out of space.
Which Macbook is suited for my needs?
    Thank you!

You say you are a college student but then leave out the most critical piece of information regarding choice of computer, what are you studying and what are the computer requirements for your course of study?
Select the computer that is most comparable with your professors and other students in your field of study. Music, etc. is not relevant, unless your field of study is music.
Get the most ram and disk space you can afford.

  • Which notebook model is good for gaming?

    Hello!
Prompt me please what better to take notebook for games from your firm?
    In advance thanks!

    Hi Dmitriy
Well, it's not easy to say which notebook is good for gaming.
A friend of mine has bought a Qosmio notebook and was satisfied with the performance. Also the newer Satellite notebooks are pretty performance strong.
In my opinion if you want to play only the games and the portable factor is not very important for your so I would recommend to use the desktop PC.
The desktop PC is easier for device and part upgrading. You can change the CPU and the graphic card. The notebook upgrading is not very easy and some parts like graphic card or CPU cannot be changed.
Also the graphic card drivers are very important for the gaming. Notebooks manufacturers use not original graphic card manufacturer's drivers. They design own graphic drivers because of the graphic card overheating protection. Sometimes such drivers are a little bit older then newer original graphic card drivers and not compatible with the newer games.
    It's your choice.

  • My Norton Identity Safe won't work with the new version (4) of Firefox AND the new version isn't asking me to Remember my password info either - SO I now have to type in my password info wherever I go which is NOT a good thing. What can I do???

    I have Norton Internet Security.
When I downloaded the new FF4 they said that a part of Norton wasn't compatible - and it seems that that part must have been my Identity Safe which holds all my password info & fills in all of my passwords for me.
You say this new version of FF automatically prompts me to have it save this info for me, but I sure didn't see that prompt and now every time I visit my online banking (and credit card site, etc, etc,) I have had to type in all this info myself.
    This certainly is not convenient!
It's bad enough I just get used to one system and you all go & reinvent the wheel -BANG!
Hasn't anyone ever heard of baby steps?

Hmmm, Norton extensions are broken again in Firefox 4.0.1. It seems that Norton didn't allow for Firefox 4.0 security updates when they updated their Firefox extension for Firefox 4.0. Norton says they'll have a fix in two weeks. A Norton user posted a fix in this forum thread.

  • Is there any way I can convert a .exe file to .iso on my MacBook Air? I'm trying to install Windows via BootCamp but the download from Microsoft is a .exe file which does me no good.

I'm trying to install Windows 8 via Boot Camp, but the download from Microsoft is a .exe file so when I go to create the bootable USB drive, it fails. I've read some of the other threads about this topic, but I want to know if there is any way to convert to .iso without having to find someone's Windows computer to borrow. Can anyone help?

No. You would require a PC in order to run the executable which is an installer, not a disc image or an archive.
