Which TS430 models come with SATA hot swap bays?

I'm trying to figure out which TS430 models come with what bays installed.
I can't find any specs on the Lenovo websites that tell me what the difference is between the different units.
Some specs I've found on the web say that the TS430 0393 comes with 8 - 3.5"  hot swap bays.  Others say 4.
Is there a table that shows which hot-swap options come with what models?
Ideally I am looking for a server with 8 3.5" SATA hot-swap trays installed.

Hi:
I recommend you also post your question on the HP Business Support Forum -- ML Servers section.

    Hi,

I don't think that there is an SSD cache. However, you should be able to swap the hdd for a proper solid state drive.

  • Which iphoto app comes with ios8

Which photo app comes with ios 8 ?  Did they get rid of the iPhoto app, light blue with picture of palm trees?  The only photo app on my iphone is the app with white background and colorful flower petals.

Did they get rid of the iPhoto app, light blue with picture of palm trees?
    Yes, that is gone.
iPhoto is not compatible with iOS 8. You can migrate your photos to the new, improved Photos.app.
But it will be a lossy migration - no books or journals are supported any longer.

  • Best Portable USM HDD for K450 hot-swap bay

I have read suggestions for the best portable USM HDD for K430 hot-swap bay, but I'm not sure if the K450 has the exact same hot-swap bay as the K430.  Are the drives suggested for the K430 the same ones that would be best for the K450?  I haven't even received my Lenovo K450 yet. I ordered it on Thursday and it will arrive on Monday Oct. 14, 2013. I just want to understand the hot-swap bay because I thought there was a way I could use a hard drive out of my old computer and put it in an external drive case and plug it right in.  After reading the literature here in the community posts, that doesn't appear to be the purpose of the bay.  I wish it would work that way because I wanted to easily offload some documents that are saved on my 500 GB Western Digital 3.5" hard drive that I would have liked to move to my new computer easily.  My old computer is not working at all anymore, so I can't just drag and drop them from my extra 500 GB drive from that computer onto the new one.
    Solved!

I purchased this same drive and it works great!!  It is too bad that Lenovo didn't tell me this when I contacted their support team.  It would have saved me a lot of time!!

Is that a program bundled with it? If so, then it may be necessary for that function to work with this device.

USB devices work fine. Is there a bios or nvidia setting?
If other USB devices work fine, then its not a problem with the board. There won't be a BIOS setting either that will make it work. And why Nvidia? You have an AMD chipset-based mainboard.
I think you'd be best off asking your EZ-Swap manufacturer for support with this device.

  • I'm thinking about purchasing a 21.5" iMac.  The base model comes with 8GB of RAM, and the RAM is not user-upgradeable down the road.  Is 8GB enough memory or should I upgrade to 16GB?

I'm thinking about getting a 21.5" iMac which comes with 8GB of RAM.  Unfortunately, the RAM is not user-upgradeable.  Do you think 8GB is enough memory, or should I upgrade to 16GB?  Besides internet surfing and email, I like to play flash games and listen to internet radio.  Occasionally, I might want to stream a movie.  I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me.

For what you list, 8GB should be adequate. I ran with 4GB without any issue for over a year in my iMac i7 before I added RAM, primarily for running Win 7 via Bootcamp.
The tasks that need a lot of RAM are typically video editing/production, heavy-duty photo manipulation (not iPhoto or PS Elements), and professional page layout like Adobe Creative Suite. If you think that, down the road, you may want to delve into those fileds with this computer, by all means get the extra RAM.
I like to play flash games
I didn't try a lot of Flash games while I still had 4GB RAM but those I tried ran without issue and without causing a non-trivial number of page-outs

  • How can I tell which optional extras come with MSI cards?

I was about ready to buy an MSI 9800GTX but then I quickly realised that MSI have at least four optional extras for this card and I have no way of knowing what card comes with what.
    MSI's description:
    MSI 9800GTX
Optional extras: External SPDIF Cable, Internal SPDIF Cable, HDMI Cable, DVI/HDMI Adapter
    Retailer's sites:
    Aria
    CCL
    Komplett
    Dabs
    Scan
Now can anyone spot any clues as to which extras come with those cards?

Thanks guys. Where I am we don't have that many shops that sell this kind of electronic equipment. The only shops around here are all run by PC World and none of them sell the 9800GTX (they only sell one make of GX2 for example). That's why I have to depend on web retailers. I tried calling MSI UK (they don't seem to offer an email service) but there was no one there - I'm guessing they're closed at the weekend. I might try again on Monday.
I know how you feel. PC World are an utter rip off, I would NEVER(!!) buy from there.

  • Z77A-GD65 SATA Hot Swap Issue

Hi folks, hoping someone can help with this.
I have attached a 2-port rear eSATA bracket to my Z77A-GD65.  When I connect and power up an external drive to either of these ports, W7 recognises the drive just fine, but it does not appear in the "safely remove hardware" menu, nor is it ejectable by right-clicking the drive's icon in Windows Explorer.
I initially connected the bracket to chipset SATA ports 4 & 6, with the "hot plug" feature for these ports set to "enabled".
Intel Rapid Storage drivers are installed and the main system drive is RAID0 (2x256GB SSDs) in 6GB/s SATA ports 1 & 2.
What I have tried so far:
    - Update the motherboard BIOS (v10.0 to v10.5)
    - Disable write caching on the drive in question
    - Use a different drive (in an eSATA caddy)
    - Connect the bracket to the ASmedia controller (SATA ports 7 & 8) in AHCI mode, instead of the Intel controller
So far nothing has made the drives show up in the "safely remove hardware" menu.
    Any ideas?

For anyone interested, I found the solution.
Connect and power on external HD
    Go to my computer
    Right-click the external HD icon
    Click properties
    Select "Hardware" tab
Click on the entry for your external HD
    Click properties
If not logged in as admin, there is a button in the "General" tab that says "Change Settings" - click it and and dismiss any UAC message
    Go to the "Policies" tab
    Select "Quick removal" option
Drive now appears in "safely remove hardware" menu and is ejectable from Explorer right click etc.

  • Do any Macbook Air models come with a 160GB SSD?

My uncle said he just bought a new Macbook Air and it comes with a 160GB SSD??? I don't see this available on the Apple store website. Is this an option?

No Macbook Airs come with this option. 64, 128 or 256 GB only.

  • Which HP notebook comes with a dual-HDD option and USB 3.0

the question is simple and I wonder why HP does not give a filtering mechanism on their webpages. I want a notebook that has an empty bay for a 2nd hard-disk and also includes a USB3.0 port. Do I need to go for a 17"option? Does it have to be a dv series (bad experiences in the past, cover replaced battery broken after a year and overheating issues)? It needs to create movies, and don't tell me I need to buy a Macbook instead....

USB3.0 is a pretty new technology and I have noticed that the new chipset Cougar Point supports it (Sandy Bridge laptops). You can also add an express card at any time to have bth 3.0 in a laptop..
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/PCMCIA-Superspeed-Faster-Windows-Compatible/dp/B003F0QHL8/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF...
There won't be many non 17" laptops with 2 hard drive bay so eSATA might be a possible solution..

  • Best Portable USM HDD for K430 hot swap bay?

Browsed around for awhile and haven't found any products for the bay on front of the K430s we purchased?
    any suggetions? tnxs.

The Seagate Backup Plus, which comes with a USB 3.0 connector, works fine in the Lenovo front mounted USM bay.  Just remove the USB 3.0 connector and slide it in.  It does not take excessive force, but it is somewhat firm.
I bought a 1 TB model at Best Buy and it worked fine when using the USB connector but did not work when inserted in the USM bay.  I took it back to the store and tried it in a Lenovo on the floor and it did not work there either.  Best Buy replaced it with another unit which works perfectly.  I keep mine permanently in the USM bay and use it to back up files (using the Win 8 File History feature).  I also keep about 400 GB of video files on the USM drive so that they do take up space on the C: drive.
I have been very satisfied with mine -- use it in a Lenovo K430.  The Seagate Backup Plus can be found in most online stores which carry external hard drives.  Price is reasonable.
