Which upgrade route?

We are currently running version 9iAS version 9.0.2.0.1 on Solaris and need to upgrade to at least 9.0.2.3 so we can change IP address on host.
We are running a simple installation on a single Solaris box with both infrastructure and mid tier installed. We are light users of Portal, Forms and Discoverer with less than 300 staff accessing these facilities throughout the day.
I had originally planned to simply upgrade to the 9.0.2.3 release but am now considering 10G. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which I should upgrade to?

I did get that error message when I first tried to upgrade 10.4.11 with the 10.6 disk. I cannot reproduce because in the meantime, the system has been upgraded to 10.5.
I recall that I was also unable to boot directly from the 10.6 disk. It is a white disc, btw.
I've taken the plunge and am now installing 10.6 on top of 10.5.0 directly. Then I need to upgrade iTunes and hope the 10.4.11 iTunes Library version can be upgraded.
In the worst case, I have created a volume DMG from the original starup disk using TDM and another Mac.
Woops. I just see that I've accidentally started the upgrade from a wrong 10.6 disk, I've written 'MBA Only' on the envelope of that one and it is the one in the envelope labeled 'not for resale'. Hmm, now I understand why I could not boot from that one. It can only boot my (old) MBA. But using it as upgrade disk seems to work. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

  • I'm trying to update iPhoto 7.1.5 to current versions so I can get my photos onto iCloud to access from my iPad.  I can't seem to find an upgrade route that will work?  Any suggestions?

I'm trying to update iPhoto 7.1.5 on my old iMac (running  10.9.5) to current versions so I can get my photos onto iCloud to access from my iPad.  I can't seem to find an upgrade route that will work?  Any suggestions?

For Mavericks you need to upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1.
You cannot buy this version from the AppStore, since the current version is iPhoto 9.6, and that requires Yosemite. The easiest route for you would be to upgrade to Yosemite. Then you can simply buy the newest version of iPhoto from the App Store and can use iCloud Photo Library (iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ), once it has been release for the Mac as well early next year.
If you want to stick with Mavericks, you'll have limited iCloud features, only the Photo Streams  (iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ), but no iCloud Drive (iCloud Drive FAQ) and iCloud Photo Library.  And to upgrade iPhoto you need to buy an iPhoto '11 installer. It comes as part of iLife '11. You can try to buy a boxed version from Amazon or try to find it at eBay.  Once installed on Mavericks, download the iPhoto '11 updaters from the apple Support Downloads page.

  • I have iphoto 7.1.5 and need to upgrade to use icloud.  I have Mac osX 10.7.5.  Which upgrades and in what order?  Thank you.

I have a Macbook 10.7.5.  Just got an iphone 4s and need to upgrade the iphoto on Macb to use icloud.  Can you tell me how to go about it?  That is, which upgrades do I need and in what order?  Thank you

NOTE: if you upgrade to Mavericks you'll have to purchase iPhoto 9.5.1 from the App Store as your current version does not qualify for a free upgrade.

  • Which Upgrade Guide documentation to read / adopt?

I have a tremendous confusion, may be because I continue embracing 46C R/3 concepts in my mind.
This year, I must upgrade from 46C R/3 unix/oracle to the last corresponding SAP version, in this case SAP ECC 6.0 (or SAP ERP 6?) unix/oracle.
I wanted to read the indications for the upgrade and I found four upgrade SAP guides for doing this:
    1) Upgrade Guide SAP ERP 6.0 Including Enhancement Package 4 Support Release 1, ABAP Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Including Enhancement Package 1
    2) Upgrade Guide SAP Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Including Enhancement Package 1
    3) Upgrade Guide SAP Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 ABAP Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Including Enhancement Package 1
    4) Upgrade Guide SAP ERP Central Component 6.0 ABAP Support Release 3
According to my situation, which one should I begin to read?

Which is the role of Netweaver in that alternative? Somebody said me that Netweaver is the replacement to traditional SAP R/3 kernel, so I should download and install it, is this correct?
When you install any of the ERP products ,Netweaver comes automatically built into it.You dont install it separtely.
    2) Does Netweaver installation necessarily implies to install Java Stack?
Nope, Depends on the usage types that you install ,AS ABAP , AS java etc.
Example , if you install Netweaver PI it would automatically install AS JAVA Components.  ERP 6.0 qould automatically install netweaver  AS ABAP or ABAP+JAVA
In your case where you are performing a ERP upgrade You would be upgrading the ABAP (AS ABAP) from 46c to ECC 6.0 S3.
And if you still need Java stack in the ERP system we used to install Java as a addin separately but now am hearing that SAP doesnt support Java addin anymore (but confirm that).
    3) So, I suspect that Netweaver is necessary for EHPs; if after doing the upgrade to SAP ERP Central component 6.0 and after a corresponding evaluation we decide to use the EHPs, which upgrade guide should I read?
You have to look for the EHP master Guide in Market place . There are several docs available in sdn as well,

Can't figure out which upgrade (from 7 Pro) is smartest: 9 Pro? or X Pro?
Should I just ignore the nay-sayers and go ahead with X Pro?

    Optional & Extraneous background data:
I've taken a break from book design, layout, and publishing since finishing 10 books 2 years ago (Kalavinkapress.org). But now I'm back into the thick of it with a another flock of long-doc books in my lap.
Result, I'm now faced with upgrading my IDCS3 & Acrobat 7 Pro. (I'm still OK with my P-shop & Illustrator versions), but am utterly clueless about the advisability of Acro X Pro over the still-available Acro 9 Pro. (I've seen some fairly loud squeaking about X Pro problems.)

It depends a bit on what you're going to use it for. I do mostly forms work and have both versions, but do most of my work with Acrobat 9, and even use Acrobat 7 for some things. There are some initial bugs with Acrobat 10 that need to be worked out, but I'd probably recommend it for most folks.

  • Which upgrades are relevant for me?

    Hi all.
I am going to order the new iMac 21,5" 2.9 GHz and I need some help figuring out which upgrades are relevant for me.
I am going to use the iMac for the following:
    - Webdesign (my profession)
    - Photoshop and perhaps other Adobe applications
    - Lots and lots of multitasking and many tabs in browsers
    - Screen Flow application (screen recording software)
    - Dual boot with Windows 7
    - Time Capsule backups
    - Gaming (Sims 3 primarily - in Windows 7)
I want it to be "future proof", but since hyperthreading isn't widely used in applications yet and people write that the majority of people never go beyond 4GB of RAM i'm onsure whether I should upgrade the CPU and RAM.
Also, since the iMac 21,5" is not user-upgradeable after you get it, I want to make sure that I don't end up having a slow computer that I wish I would have made better/faster. I just want it to function fast and smooth. Today I have a MBP 15" medio 2009, 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, which I think performs overall well but is a bit slow sometimes.
The only upgrade I seem sure of for now is the 1TB Fusion Drive.
    Thanks in advance!

Although I am sure you have seen all this ... this is the formal description of that machine. Apple (United Kingdom) - iMac - Technical Specifications
I cannot answer you questions about the specific tasks you plan to use it for; they are simply outside of my knowledge base, but you do raise points about being 'future proof', as you describe it, and I am afraid Apple is no more future proof than any other computer.  It is a fact that the sales of Apple machines rely on upgrading at periodic intervals, often using upgrades that were designed and known about two years before.   That, I'm afraid, is business.
As far as the RAM is concerned you will have to decide between 8 GB and 16 GB when you order it as it cannot be RAM increased afterwards.   (The 27" can, I understand.
Very much based on talk within the forums but I hope this is of some help to you.

  • Which bom & routing selection for costing

    hi
i have 9  multiple BOM for a finished product and 1 routing.
i want to run CK11 AND CK24 for standard cost estimate.
my problem is that which bom & routing should be considered for std. cost estimate.
for each combination calculated std. price in CK11 is different.
how i should address this issue  so that i can calculate std. price

    Hi Rajeev,
If you have ( BOMs and 1 Routing that means you have 9 different Production version or not than create it.
Now How system will pick the Production version for Costing.
    it Depends on
    - Costing Lot size - Costing 1 of Material Master.
Now as per your Costing Lot size system will pick the nearest prod. version. And If there are more than one Production version found which match the costing lot size then it will pick the first one (See the production version sequence in  t.code C223).
And depends on that Production version system will pick the BOM and Routing attached to it.
But if you want to run MRP as per your Selection then Select BOM and Routing in Quantity Structuer or Production version in
Costing Data 1 View of Material Master.
It will become default Selection for BOM and Routing for Cost estimate.

    Dhaval

  • Which wireless router?

Simple question, after reading reviews and noting problems. All I need to know is which wireless router is recommended to connect our iMAC, which has Airport Extreme card, to Telewest Broadband Cable (now Virgin), please?

I would say that your choice of wireless routers is similar to choosing a computer. You can buy an Apple product that will be effective and easy to set up and use, or you can pay a little less for another brand which may or may not do the job.
If the Airport Express has the features you need then get it instead of the Extreme. If you do go with a non-Apple brand then my advice is to stay away from Linksys because I have had several of their network devices die for no apparent reason.

  • Which wireless router do you recommend

    Hi,
I am currently using a Linksys BEFW11S4 router with my desktop pc and iBok and would like to upgrade to the newer technology. It is all confusing between the major companies including Apple. Linksys doesn't support Apple issues very well but I was looking at the WRT54G or GS model. Any comments on which brand seems to work best with both machines?
    Thanks alot!!

    Hi Wendy,
Upgrading isn't a big deal at all. Just disconnect the old and connect the new then go through the setup. Some (Belkin is one and there are others) even have a Mac setup wizard but setup without one is no big deal.
A newer router will allow you to use WPA security which is much better than WEP. MAC address filtering is really useless because even amateur hackers can clone a MAC address and fool the router. WPA is all you need.
The download speed from internet sites won't improve any with a 802.11g router. None of the ISPs offer anything approaching even 802.11b speeds yet. They advertise speeds of 8Mbs but that's under ideal conditions. If you transfer files between computers on your network or stream media you will see an increase though.
If you want to upgrade for security reasons by all means do so. $40 or so for peace of mind is cheap. Just don't think you'll surf the internet any faster.

  • WRT300N Firmware v0.93.9 - which upgrade version can I install?

I think I can upgrade my firmware, but I don't know which version.
The firmware version on the web interface says v0.93.9.  But the version on the CD says 1.3.  Neither of those choices are available when I go to the Download page at Linksys.
Can someone tell me which firmware version I can safely upgrade my router to?
    Thanks.
    KWilder

    Your router is WRT300N V1...
    Download Firmware 3.00 MB...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
