Which version converts PDF to Word (not on-line)?

I recently uninstalled Adobe Reader that would save as Word doc or docx.  I thought it would convert them also without going on-line to do so.  Any suggestions please?

As the others said, Acrobat was never free, unless you got it preinstalled on your system.
Do you have a backup of your system?  If so, restore it to a time before you uninstalled Acrobat.

    Hi Joe ,
Could you please specify ,what exactly are you trying to install ,Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat .
Adobe Reader does not allow you to convert PDF' .It is a software meant to view PDF' only whereas Acrobat is meant to view and edit PDF'.

  • Free trial version stopped converting pdf to word file

    Hello -
I recently downloaded the free trial versio nof Adobe Reader XI, and for one day I was able to convert pdf files into Word files (doc, docx). I have not been able to do so since. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software to no avail. The furthest I can get is to click on the convert button within reader, and then when I click on 'view converted files' I am sent to a website that asks me to subscribe in order to use the conversion function. This looks to be a somewhat common bug with this software, which leaves me very little confidence that this would be a worthwhile purchase (I am a writing teacher and would like the ease of converting back and forth in the long term).
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thank you and all best,
    Jen

Adobe Reader is free software; there is no trial for it.
The ExportPDF online service, initiated through Adobe Reader, is subscription based.  To the best of my knowledge there is no trial either.
The only trial there is to convert PDF to Word/Excel is Adobe Acrobat.

  • Just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over

just downloaded adobe XI trial and can not convert pdf to word, says trial is period over. what can i do

For some reason this seems to happen to some. It may be that you have a date issue on the machine and Acrobat noted it. By the way, Adobe is the name of the company, not a product.
I have no idea how Adobe sets and tracks the trial information. It may be there is something else that has caused an issue and Acrobat thinks you have already had the trial on the system and uninstalled it. As far as I know, there is nothing you can do. You might be able to check with sales to see if there is a work-around, but users can do nothing to help you.
Sorry, hope you can find a way to test the product. It might also be related to the version of Windows that you did not state.

having problems converting pdf to word. I'm not able to convert the file, what do I need to do?

    Hi prates77,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble converting files. Are you receiving the conversion error regardless of the file that you try to convert? Does the error occur whether you use the web interface, or convert via Reader? And an odd question: how many files do you have stored in your Acrobat.com account? We have seen reports of this error when there are a large number of files stored in the root folder of your Acrobat.com account.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Best,
    Sara

This is not a feature of Adobe Reader. You'll need either Acrobat or a subscription to one of the web-based services that Adobe offers (like PDF Pack) to do it.

  • Converting pdf to Word 2003 in Acrobat 9 Pro

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro.  I want to convert pdfs to Word 2003.  I have followed the instructions to export to Word, but when I get to the dialog box that selects the conversion method, I choose Flowing, which is recommended, and click OK, and I get an error message that my PDF document may be corrupt.  This happens with every pdf, whether it is a form downloaded from the internet or a text document I have created myself.  If I try to convert to RTF instead, it makes the "conversion", but in doing so, it creates a file containing an image that is not editable -- it does not create a plain text, editable file.
Is the problem that I am using Word 2003?  Word 2003 is not on the list of file formats to which the pdf can be exported, but when I get to that screen, I choose Workshare PDF in Word (which I believe I read somewhere is the correct choice for conversion to Word 2003) as my selection and it gets me to the "conversion method" screen (which gets me to the corruption error message). Again, even if I choose rtf, I do not get an editable document.
    Any ideas???

    Something to try -
    Export the PDF to RTF.
Open the RTF file with Word Pad.
Save As (perhaps to a new filename -- 'something_bis.rtf')
Open this file with MS Word.
Not particularly surprising that the PDF you posted behaves poorly when 'worked' with Acrobat.
It is an output of Ghostscript.
Compounding the awkwardness of export is the fact that the PDF is not a Tagged PDF.
A significant raison d'etre for Tagged PDF is to support export of PDF content to a word processor application.
    Be well...

    Hi mirkok88586581,
You can use Acrobat DC to convert PDF files to Word. If you don't have Acrobat, you're welcome to try it for free for 30-days. You can download the trial from this page: Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC.

  • Uable to convert PDF to Word?

Uable to convert PDF to Word. The following error is given: "an error occured while signing in"?

    Hello,
I'm sorry you're having trouble. Unfortunately, I'll have to report that the nature of a PDF file is to be uneditable and unchangeable - you may want to think of it as a printed document that's viewable on your screen. As such, it is relatively difficult to convert it to other file formats (since it's really just an image, not data). That being said, you may want to consider trying Adobe Acrobat Pro desktop software, which allows you to convert some PDF files to editable formats or to make certain changes to PDF documents. If you're using Windows, you can find a free 30-day trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 right here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html
(Unfortunately, there is no Mac trial available at this time.)
    Best of luck!
    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

  • Trying to convert pdf to word - error message " an error occurred while signing in " - How do i get it to work ?

have been using convertor form more than a year now to convert pdf to word documents
have started to get message 'an error occurred while signing in'
    Help please ??

This email is in response to support case #0185407323 submitted by Lowell Peterson.
I keep submitting the same problem and keep getting exactly the same response, which is not helpful.  My problem is this:  for over a year I have been converting .pdf documents to Word by clicking on Tools with a .pdf document open in Adobe Reader, then clicking on Convert.  After a brief waiting signal, I am told to download and save the document.  Perfect.  But recently, every time I try to do exactly the same thing I get the message that says, "An error occurred while signing in."
I have followed this advice multiple times:
Do you get that error when you try to convert a file from within Reader? If so, please try this:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac OS).
Click Adobe Online Services on the left side.
Sign out of our Adobe ID and sign back in.
Try to convert your document again.
THIS PROCESS DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING.  I JUST KEEP ON GETTING THE ERROR MESSAGE.
If you continue to have trouble, please verify that you can access the service via the web interface.  To do this:
Open a browser and navigate to http://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html
Try to log in with your Adobe ID (email address) and password.
Once logged in, follow the on-screen prompts to convert a file.
THIS WORKS, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THESE STEPS WHEN I AM ALREADY IN A .PDF DOCUMENT WITH A "TOOLS" PANEL TELLING ME I CAN DO IT FROM THERE.  PLUS, THIS MAY BE MY STUPIDITY, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO "SAVE" THIS LINK, SO EVERY TIME I WANT TO CONVERT A DOCUMENT, I HAVE TO LOOK UP THIS ADVICE, THEN FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS.  IT WAS A GREAT DEAL SIMPLER AND LESS TIME CONFUSING WHEN I COULD JUST DO IT FROM "TOOLS."
Any idea what the problem is~??
