Which version is being downloaded ?

I am downloading Adobe CS6 trial through a Mac, but I want to download a Windows version so that I can transfer it to my PC after download, how to know which version (Mac/Windows) is being downloaded ? (As my download speed is too slow, I dont want to waste my time downloading a Mac version by mistake)

Are you using the Adobe Download Assistant?  If so it is automatically detecting the OS on the computer it is installed on and downloading the appropriate version.  You can follow the steps listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 to initiate a direct download.

  • I have Mac OSX 10.4.11. Every time I try to download Firefox 8, I get a popup that my computer won't support it. Which version should I download, and where can I get lower versions?

Every time I google Firefox 7, Firefox 8 comes up.

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (which you do have) '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher (you have version 10.4)
    *System Requirements: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 4] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/5.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 5] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/6.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 6] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/7.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 7] [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/8.0/system-requirements/index.html Firefox 8]
If you upgrade your OS to 10.5 or greater, you can use the current Firefox version.
'''''The good news''''' is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. '''''The bad news''''' is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

  • Which version can I download and install to get video download facility in the toolbar

I find that version 3.6 has video download toolbar to facilitate download videos from any source, but it doesn't work properly and is very slow. Is there any version which provide a toolbar for efficient and fast downloading of videos with automatic prompt feature?

Simply download the trial and activate it with the serial. Or you could copy the files to an USB stick on another computer. There is no super-secret extra download.

  • Oracle for HP UX - which version to download?

I am going to test a 2-processor, Itanium server with HP UX 11i v2 (11.23) in order to see if I will buy it or not.
So, I would like to download an Oracle 9i to test with this box. I can see 2 versions at the download center:
    Oracle9i for HP-UX/IA64 (v9.2.0.2) and
    Oracle9i for HP-UX (v9.2.0.1)
    Which version should I download?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
Do you perhaps know where I can get the Installation guide for this. Oracle certifies this but I can only find installation guides for HP-UX 11.22. I'm really
looking for what O/S patches are necessary.

  • HT1338 no iphoto in my os x mountain lion. which version to download?

cannot locate no iphoto in my os 10.8.2. which version must i download?

Did your Mac come with Lion or Mountain Lion? If so, the you should be able to re-download from the App Store. See here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4718, the section on Restoring iLife applications.
If the Mac came with Discs, the iLife will be on those Discs.

  • Which version of Python

    Hi all,
I have just installed Snow Leopard on my iMac 10.6.8 and want to teach myself simple Python.
I am new to programming and when I looked on these 2 sites I don't really know which version I need to upgrade to.  I think it is the
Python 2.7.5 Mac OS X 64-bit/32-bit x86-64/i386 Installer (for Mac OS X 10.6 and later [2]), am I correct please?
There is a note also about this installation with regard to Mac, please have a look for me as I don't understand it:
    http://www.python.org/download/mac/tcltk
Basically, which version do I download and do I need anything else for Python to run properly?
Really don't want to mess my iMac up so thought I best ask experienced people
    Thanks in anticipation

Please note I need version 2.7 to be able to run the PyGame
My iMac is a 64 bit Intel Core 2 Duo.
I have opened Terminal and it tells me that I am currently running Python 2.6.1
What are the differences between these 2 Python versions?
    Python 3.3.2 Mac OS X 64-bit/32-bit x86-64/i386 Installer (for Mac OS X 10.6 and later [2]) and
    Python 2.7.5 Mac OS X 64-bit/32-bit x86-64/i386 Installer (for Mac OS X 10.6 and later [2])
If I install the 2.7.5 will it mess up my mac?
    Thanks

  • Which version of OSX do I need to download in order to be happy?

    Hello,
I was, and possibly still am, using Mac OSX 10.2.8 on my home computer. Unfortunately, due to newer versions of other programs/software/downloads (Quicktime, iTunes) not being compatible with version 10.2.8, this operating system is proving to be quite a drawback to me being able to fully utilize my computer. I attempted to download 10.3.9 (I believe that was the version), and after downloading it and attempting to use it was given a prompt stating that my computer system required version 10.3 in order to continue. Don't quote me on that, but that's very close to the message that I received. In any event, assuming that I'm still using OSX 10.2.8, could anyone please tell me which operating system to download at this point in order to use the newest versions of iTunes and Quicktime, and where I should go (site-wise) to find this download(s)? Also, some brief explanation as to whether or not I should turn off my computer or click my heels together three times before attempting to install this new system would also be greatly appreciated.
I'm really not a dense person, I swear.
    Thanks in advance.

Mac OS X Versions 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, and 10.4, are complete system upgrades that must be purchased.
Once the OS is installed, the point upgrades, such as 10.1.x to 10.1.5 (Final) 10.2.x to 10.2.8 (Final), 10.3.x to 10.3.9 (Final), and 10.4.x to 10.4.8 (Pending), can be downloaded for free.
Tiger is available for purchase at The Apple Store (U.S.).
Panther, is no longer available directly from the Apple Online Store, as Tiger 10.4.x is the most up to date OS.
If you know what to look for, a Full Retail Version, of the Panther Install CDs, or a Full Retail Version, of the Tiger Install DVD, can also be purchased rather inexpensively, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, AppleRescue, FastMac, etc.
Be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.
Panther is only on CDs, not DVDs.
The discs should look like the images in the above links.

Once Panther 10.3.x is installed, you can use the 10.3.9 Combo Update, to upgrade to the final version.
If your Mac meets the System Requirements for Tiger, you could also consider installing that.
And then use the PPC 10.4.8 Combo Update, to upgrade to the current version.

    Tiger System Requirements
Additionally, "Tiger ships on a DVD, but if your Mac doesn’t have a built-in DVD-ROM player, you’ll need CD media. When you buy Mac OS X Tiger, you qualify to purchase Tiger CDs for only $9.95."

Orders must be mailed by March 19, 2007.

  • I want to download the 1080p film version via iTunes on my PC for my iPad 3. But which version am I getting ?

I've just bought a new iPad and want to give it a run through with a 1080p movie, so I chose Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  I have a ceiling on my broadband download of 20GB/month.  I wanted to download the movie once onto my PC via iTunes and then sync it to the iPad and potentially to my iPhone 4S.  However, when I think I've done this download, I look and it appears, by the size of the download I've just got the SD version on my PC. I've subsequently gone back in and checked the box in my preferences to prefer 1080p to 720p.  Does iTunes, take a look at the hardware you are downloading to and make a judgement call as to whether it is up to running 1080p ? (My PC is)  I've looked a bit more closely at the boxes on my PC iTunes and indeed the buy HD box is grayed out, even I clicked the HD option on the film, and more confusing is the fact that in the HD description there is only a 720p version listed.  Now when I go to my iPad, which I synced, there is a 1080p version listed there in the iTunes store, and it tells me that the film is downloaded to my iPad.  So does anyone know which version I have on my iPad, and why on my PC version of iTunes (which is 10.6.1.7) there is only a 720p version listed, whereas on the iPad version of the store there is a 1080p version listed ? I guess the moral of the story is download via the device you actually want to use - but I'd prefer not to download multiple versions of the film for different devices and prefer not to download such large files over wifi.

It seems you have not admin privileges on your pc. However, to circumvent that try the following. Right click your favorite browser and choose run as admin. Download the computers appropriate itunes version (32 or 64 bit) from apple's website. Again right click the downloaded installation program and choose run as admin. This should install it.

  • Can anyone please tell me which version of Photoshop Elements will download easily and run with mac 10.5.8 Snow Leopard?

I posted a question which was: Can anyone please tell me which version of Photoshop Elements will work with Mac 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.  Then this window popped up saying mark this discussion with as a question and this window.  I have no idea how this works. It already is a question and if I need to emphasize that, how does this window that looks like a Word editing window, help me do that?Downloading, Installing, Setting Up

You asked the question in the title area instead of the area where the body of your posting is intended to be.  No fault of yours - they need to make the form clearer.
Check the system requirements for the various versions of Photoshop Elements and see which suits your system.  Adobe only sells the most recent versions of their software, so if you need an older version you will need to find a vendor for it.
