Is flash player 11.3 compatible with Windows vista 64 bit?
I don't have major issues with the video and sound (the flash player used to crash frequently but that seems to have been resolved). But I can't adjust the volume with the volume control wheel when I watch videos on firefox. When I check volume mixer the flash player is tied to the speaker, not firefox.
The product description for flash player 11.3 seems to suggest that it will not support Windows Vista 64 bit. Should I revert back to an older version? What's the most straightforward way to do that? Is the Adobe team fairly close to finding a solution?
Much thanks to anyone who provide some answers for people who aren't computer savvy - like me.Previously, with separate 32-bit and 64-bit installers, you could run the 64-bit installer on Vista, and it would work correctly. However, it was not officially supported by Adobe.
Now with the 11.3 combined installers, I do not know what it installs on Vista. I do not have Vista available, so I cannot test it. Can you tell me what files you have in

Adobe flash player 11 not compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking "help"
Adobe flash player 11 is not compatible with my Dragon Naturally Speaking software. How can I or where can I download flash player 10?
Try here for a list of the various Adobe flash player versions:

Flash player will not work with Windows Vista?
I installed flash player but had to uninstall it after I did an update as my Pc would not work properly. Does anyone know which version will work please. Thanks.
I have a machine with Vista Ultimate SP2 and Flash Player 11.8.800.94 and it works as it should.
What exactly does "my PC would not work properly" mean? -
Adobe Acrobat 5.0 not compatible with Windows Vista
On installing this software on my new Windows Vista, incompatibility message says I need to install kernel-mode print driver. Where can I get this from. No luck with the Adobe website technical support!
Then you will need to purchase an upgrade to the current version 8.1.
Note that Acrobat Standard would be a downgrade; to retain all your
current features you'd need Acrobat Professional.
Note that there was no product called Acrobat Writer, if you want to
be exact. And you would normally have only one of "Acrobat" and
"Acrobat Reader". To make it even more confusing, "Acrobat Reader" was
renamed "Adobe Reader".

How do I choose and then install the correct version of Adobe Flash Player for my machine?
First thing - My computer - PROCESSOR: Intel Celeron 450 @2.2 Ghz, MEMORY: 4GB, OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit, BROWSER: IE 9.0.8112.16421
Everything was hunky-dory until the auto-installer updated my version to the Flash Player 11.2 version and that's when it all went downhill. As soon as it installed that version, none of the TV networks, news networks or Hulu recognized that I had Adobe Flash Player. In addition, I could no longer create a blank new tab in IE or use the tools button (the little gear symbol) in the upper right hand of an IE window. Because of the IE problems, I figured it was a problem with IE and went about searching for a solution in that arena. I finally found something at Microsoft that helped me determine if it was an IE problem and went through the various steps. The final step required booting into safemode and trying to replicate the problem. IE worked fine in safemode so, Microsoft determined the problem had to be with outside influences.
After several frustrating attempts with other fixes including virus scanning and firewall settings, the problem persisted. I then un-installed Flash Player per Adobe's instruction and re-installed the recommended 'latest' version. The problem remained. So, when all else had failed I did a full system restore to a point over a month ago, which is prior to the occurence of the problem, while at the same time noting which drivers and programs would be affected. I already had a sneaking suspicion that it was Flash Player because I read the full system requirements for the recommended version that the auto installer was trying to install (see below). I then began updating everything one at a time to see if any of the windows/software/driver updates had any affect on IE. None did until I got to the Adobe Flash Player and updated it.
Now, what I think the problem is: The auto installer ONLY looks at Operating System and Browser to determine which version of Adobe Flash Player is correct. In this regard, my machine should use the latest 11.2 version. HOWEVER, if you look at the full system requirements for the 11.2 versions, you will note that it requires a...... 2.33 Ghz processor! In this regard, 11.2 is NOT the correct version for my machine as it only has a 2.2 Ghz processor. And I think therein lies the problem.
So. I freely admit that I am not a computer expert and am, in fact, so far removed from ever even contemplating wearing such a title that I'm sure all who read this are sitting in your offices having a good laugh at my expense. As such, I welcome anyone and everyone to tell me what I've done wrong and how I should go about fixing it. If my deductions are correct, then could someone please tell me how to choose the correct version for my machine and then tell me how to actually install it on my machine.
I know that this is a long post and I thank you all for your patience and any help you choose to offer me.Mr. Willener,
Thank you for your reply.
I did un-install and then re-install per the Adobe recommendations which are what you listed in your reply. The problem remained until I did a MS Windows restore to a restore point a month or so ago. The IE problems vanished. However, now I'm using an outdated and unsupported version that is lower than most of the web pages require for their sites, at least the ones I want to view (they all say I need to upgrade my Flash Player which, when I did, put me in this fix).
As to:

You can safely ignore that requirement; it is simply not true.
Why would Adobe post a system requirement of 2.33 Ghz for 11.2 if it simply were not true?

I'm installing Flash Player on my Windows 7 64-bit OS using IE 8 32-bit. The installation terminates and the log file contains the following. (Please note, this log file was in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash"). Flash player (32-bit) has been working, but just currently quit working. Advise please.

when i click on a video say on Facebook i am asked to download the latest version of adobe flash player which i have but it still keeps asking me any ideas ?
You are downloading the Flash installer, which I think itself downloads another installer, which may again download something else that has to run. Adobe's installer is one of the worst pieces of software on the PLANET.
That said, the problem is that you are not actually running the installer and letting it update Flash. Doing so will force you to quit Safari in the process.
Go look for whatever Adobe downloaded to your Downloads folder and run it. -

Hello- I recently upgraded to OS Mountain Lion on my iMac and cannot download the most current version of Adobe Flash Player. I even uninstalled the old Flash version but this did not resolve the issue. Could somebody please assist? Thank you.
Hello- I was able to resolve the issue after clicking on the top right hand corner that shows the recent downloads (it has that down arrow). I realized that I had tried downloading the Adobe Flash Player Install Manager about 7 times, but still needed to click on the file and install! So I erased all the duplicates and installed one of the Flash Player Install Managers and it finally worked! Yay!

I want to install an updated version of adobe flash player. I am being asked for my password which I have forgotten. What is the best way to reset my password on my macbook pro?

Downloaded latest Safari update that informed me that older versions of Adobe Flash Player were being disabled and then advised me to go to Adobe and down load latest version of Flash Player. Did that, but Flash Player won't play swf files, which it did before. (Instead of opening, it comes up as a page of code).
Hi..
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Delete All
Now select the Storage tab.
Click Delete All
Relaunch Safari to test.

Unique problem with installing new version of adobe flash player
Hi there. I am unable to install the newest version of adobe flash player. I am not getting any error messages like most people's issue on this forum. What happens is I run the installer, and it attempts to install for a second and then the installer screen goes blank , as you can see in the image. nothing happens after this. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Any tips on why this is happening?
Hi Casey,
When did you download this file? It is for a problematic installer that we removed from our servers last week (Wednesday 25-March). If it's still being downloaded it's either cached on our servers and we need to clear the cache again, or it may be cached by your browser, in which case, clearing the browser cache will download a new, non-problematic installer.
Thank you in advance.
Maria
