We've downloaded version 6, but an error window keeps coming up. Do I need an earlier version? How do I get rid of this version?

If you are running Windows 7, you need AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Windows - Support - Apple
Delete the 6.x version that you downloaded, as it will not run on a PC.

I have this issue, too. The problem with the advice from Saito_Chickara is that Mavericks (I'm on 10.9.2) does not allow you to run AirPort Utility 5.x. So for those of us on Mavericks, what can we do? I have yet to find a solution. This is really frustrating.

If yes, then there is indeed difference. The Express edition is more like a developer's playground with a good looking GUI even there to administer it. EE or SE are the production releases , meant for being used in a very busy, highly concurrent environments. There would be additional features like RAC and Dataguard that would come with EE and wont be there in the XE. So if you are learning to become a production DBA, you should right away use EE or SE IMO .

Keep in mind that all iPhone 5s currently available in the US are built for the US customer. It is avaialable unlocked by US law. This law does not extend beyond US borders. If the iPhone becomes locked at some future date (this has happened), there will be no recourse.
My suggestion is to wait until Apple releases the factory unlocked iPhone 5s for the international market.

I have tried downloading the latest version of Airport Utility, 5.6.1 and installing it.
I get a message the says this OS, Mountain Lion, won't work with this version of Airport Utility, and stops the install.
All I want to do is passwork protect my network.

5.6 also works with Mountain Lion and has more features then 6.1

AirPort Utility 6.0 for Lion has dropped some features and functionality over previous versions.
Even if it might be on the way in a Windows version, I'm not sure why you would want to drop features and functionality over what is already available.

Using Snow Leopard you should definitely use AU 5.5.3. Later versions won't work.
If it is not being recognized, yes it's another problem. Perform a "hard reset" and attempt to establish contact with it again:
Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule FAQ
Press and hold the reset button with a pen or pencil until you see the status light (LED) start to flash amber rapidly, which should occur after about five seconds.
Release the button, and the AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule will hard reset.
Edit: Bob Timmons may be right. I no longer have an original AEBS to test. The AirPort Utility version is correct but if it can't find the Extreme it might require a Mac running Tiger. If you can locate one of those, I am certain that will work. Another alternative is to use a PC with a version of AU for Windows.

Airport Utility 6.3.4 is the Yosemite version. It is installed with Yosemite.

I have the same issue. My girlfriend bought Photoshop Elements 6, but her iBook G4, which is maxed out on conventional RAM, only has 32MB of video. She bought PE 6 as the Apple Store guy told her it would work on a iBook G4. He clearly did not realizing there were some iBook G4's made with 32MB and some with 64MB of video RAM. But before we break the shrink wrap on the box, which would make it unreturnable, it would be nice to know if anyone has gotten PE 6 to run on a iBook G4 with only 32MB of RAM. I'm more concerned with whether it works, than whether it is optimal. So, does anyone know if PE 6 will run on a iBook G4 with 32MB of video RAM?

Which version of Flash Player is best for Powerbook G4 10.5.8?

Hi,
I have a Powerbook g4 17" 1.67ghz with 2gb of ram and 128mb video.
I thought this would be pretty good on the web but even basic video clips play poorly.
Looking around flash seeems to be the culprit so is it better to run an older version of flash or is there anything i can do?
Also how can i tell which version i am running?

I'm afraid nothing will completely fix streaming video problems on any PPC-based Mac since web video is now optimised for Intel processors. The hack Tom has found has some advantages over the standard Flash Player version when used in conjunction with specific websites.
To find out which version of Flash you currently have installed open a Flash video stream and control click on the window. Amongst other things this will display the version information.

I find that the older version of Dreamweaver (CS3) works best for me.

I have used all new updated versions of Adobe Dreamweaver. Usually an update would make things easier for me but in this case it is the complete opposite. Don't get me wrong, Dreamweaver is still my primary choice for developing a website. I just find that for instance, Dreamweaver CS3 is more user friendly than CS5 & CS6 for example. IE has been HTML5 compliant since IE9. There are still old goofy hold overs (like the automatic border on linked images) that you have to deal with, but its ability to render HTML5 elements is solid. CSS3 is a bit of a different story, IE9 was pretty bad, 10 was much better and 11 is pretty much a "modern browser" for its ability to render everything correctly, finally (thankfully and mercifully).
All of the other major browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Android, Mobile Safari and Opera,) have been largely HTML5 compliant for years with just a few oddities left in obscure CSS3 attributes.
With the HTML5 shiv/modernizers available for IE7 and 8 added to the code to help them with the "new" semantic tags like <header>, <aside>, <article>, etc, I agree with Nancy, there's no reason to not use HTML5 going forward.

Actually versions pse 6 through pse 13 work on mac os x 10.10 Yosemite, but pse 12 and pse 13 might work better, since they are 64 bit applications and can use a lot more ram than pse 6 through pse 11, which are 32 bit applications and only use a limited amount of ram somewhere around 3 gbs of ram max.
You might as well get pse 13, since it's the current version adobe sells.

How do I get my macmini running Mountain Lion to see my Canon USB printer connected to my Airport Extreme? I have a macbook pro running leopard and that works fine. The versions of airport utility are different and I can't even see the printer from new 1

I am having trouble seeing my usb printer from my second gen airport extreme using the newest version of airport utility under Mountain Lion. UGH! And while I can see and network to my Canon IP5000 from my macbook pro running leopard, I can't from my new macmini running Mountain Lion. Any help would be appreciated in configuring my macmini so it can see the Canon IP5000 on the airport extreme. Don't want to "share" the printer from the laptop because that would be a cludge. I solved this one based on another post. Turned out I needed the snow leopard IP5000 driver. I had just copied over the leopard driver (I had saved my .dmg file) and installed that but it didn't work. So I downloaded the latest driver which turned out to be for snow leopard and I am guessing since it is 64bit that is why it worked and the leopard driver didn't. Anyway, I also had to hook the printer up via usb to the mac mini to get it to work locally before the O/S would see it over Bonjour via the airport extreme.

I have an Airport Extreme as my wifi hub and an Airport Express to beam music. All of a sudden the Express stopped working and I get the error message "this version of Airport Utility does not support this base station". All my software is up to date and

I have a WiFi system in the house that uses the Airport Extreme for a hub and an older Express for sending music from my Mac to my sound system. Everything worked great till yesterday. When I go to Networks I see the Extreme and I see the Express but the Express is no longer connected and I get an error message "this version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this base station". This sounds as if you have an older AirPort Express that is no longer supported by the newer Mavericks operating system.
To check and see if that might be the case, locate the model number on the side of the AirPort Express. It will start with an "A" followed by four numbers. Hard to see in the faint print.....so you may need reading glasses or a magnifying class to see the model number clearly.
Model numbers A1084 and A1088 of the AirPort Express are no longer supported by AirPort Utility in Mavericks.
You will need to use a Mac running Leopard, Snow Leopard, or a PC to be able to administer the older AirPort Express.
