Which version of CS5 Suite is installed on the puter?

Sorry...strange question ....but where  does one
get an indication of what version of CS5 Production Suite is installed?
eg Premium or otherwise?
Is it in the About or the Splash Screen..or  where?

At the risk of stating the obvious, there is only one 'Production' version called Production Premium.    The only difference between the Master and Production Premium is the number of programs that you get, so I took the liberty of copying the specs from the sales page:
(whichever matches the programs you have, that's the version you have installed)

  • How do I determine which version of windows os is installed on the computer that my application is running on.

I need to determine which version of windows os in on the computer running my application to make some minor adjustments to a subvi.  Is there a programmatic way to determine this using Labview.

Or, use the Application property node Application>OS>Detailed Name.  Although I can't say anything about its output on other-than-Windows OSes.
By the way, I think you win the "reviving old thread" award today

  • Which version of PC suite should I use to copy all...

I have an old Nokia 6610 which is on its last legs. There are about 130 text messages stored on the phone itself, in various subfolders within "My folders", one message in the Archive folder, and about 8 messages in the Inbox (the Inbox messages are stored on the SIM card - Vodafone Pay As You Go). I also have 14 pictures stored in a "Pics" folder in the Gallery. All my Phone book entries are stored on the SIM card. The text message memory is virtually full, and I often have to delete existing messages before new ones will arrive.
My computer is a Power Mac G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.11. For those that are interested, it's this model here:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/stats/powermac_g4_1.25_dp_mdd.html
On the Mac I have Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.2 which runs a copy of Windows 2000 (5.0.0.2195 Service Pack 4) under emulation.
I have a fake/third party DKU-2 cable which came with a CD which contains the installer "Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe" and the installer for PC suite 6.6.
Many months ago I ran the "Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe" installer (within the Windows 2000 Virtual Machine) and also installed the latest Windows 2000 compatible version of PC Suite that I could find at the time - 6.86 (the installer file is called Nokia_PC_Suite_rel_6_86_9_3_eng_web.exe).
The software installed successfully, and it seemed to detect the phone via the DKU-2 cable, but I wasn't able to access any of the information on the phone. This isn't really surprising, given that the phone wasn't really directly connected to Windows - it was going via a Mac USB 1.1 port, masquerading as a port on the "PC".
What I am wondering is what software do I need to use so that I can copy all the text messages from the phone (& the 14 pictures too if possible) to my computer, preferably with the sender names & folder structure intact, so that when I buy a new Nokia phone, I can copy them all to it? I've not decided on which new Nokia to buy yet. It might be the N95 8GB, the N96, or perhaps just a basic model. It will be a current model though, not a second hand one.
My first choice would be to use software that was Mac native, but I'm not sure if there is any that would do the job. My second choice would be for software that could run on the Windows 2000 Virtual Machine. If neither of these options are possible, I could borrow my Dad's 6 month old PC laptop, which runs Windows Vista Home Premium, and use that.
If anyone has any experience/thoughts on this, I'd greatly appreciate their (detailed!) input & advice. Although I've very experienced IT-wise, I have zero experience of mobile phone software.
    Many thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just to follow up from my previous post - I did indeed decide to keep the 6220 classic as my new phone.
Yesterday I installed the Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe driver from the CD
that came with my third party/fake DKU-2 cable onto my Dad's Windows Vista Home Premium laptop. Knowing through 15 years bitter experience working with PCs that once a newer version of a piece of software has been installed on a PC, it can often be impossible to subsequently install an older version, even once the newer one has been successfully "removed", I decided to install the 4 versions of PC Suite at my disposal in version order, with the oldest first, and if a version didn't work, to uninstall it, and then install the next oldest one, and so on.
I started with the version that's on the CD that came with my 6610 - version 5 point something. The installation went fine, and after re-starting, I followed the instructions to connect the phone to the computer with the cable. Unfortunately a Vista error message appeared saying there was a problem with the "unrecognised" USB device. PC Suite meanwhile just got stuck in a loop trying to connect to the phone. (The phone was switched on & unlocked!). After trying unplugging & replugging the phone etc, I uninstalled PC Suite, and then tried the same thing with the next oldest version of PC Suite that I have. This is version 6.6. The exact same problem occurred. I then uninstalled that and tried a version I had downloaded many months ago - version 6.86.9.3. The same thing happened, except this time after a while PC Suite gave up trying to connect and displayed a box offering links to places like this website that might help me solve the problem. I then uninstalled that, and then installed the current version of PC Suite - 7.0.8.2. The same thing happened as with 6.86.9.3.
There are, to my mind, 2 possible explanations for all this. Either the data socket on the phone is damaged in some way, which is possible, given that the phone got wet back in February and had to be repaired, and the first repair shop i took it to managed to dislodge the charging socket (which is right next to the data socket) during their botched attempts to fix the phone (another shop fixed this), OR, as I hope is the case, the cable is the wrong one, despite it fitting perfectly.
I've noticed that in several places (the phone's manual, readme files that come with the various versions of PC Suite, etc) that the DKU-5 cable is mentioned far more often than the DKU-2, which suggests that maybe I need a DKU-5. Also, if you go to the PC Suite download page and select the 6610, the cable that's mentioned is the CA-42. Another alternative is that the DKU-2 I have just doesn't work, given that it's not a proper Nokia cable.
Does anyone have any idea which cable I actually need to use to get the PC to talk to the 6610?
Also, in case you were wondering, the reason I tried 4 different versions of PC Suite rather than just the current version is that I've read on these forums that certain newer versions of PC Suite don't have certain features that certain older versions do, depending on the phone in question. This has caused much frustration for people, judging by the comments I've read. Given that what I want to do is to copy all the text messages from the phone (& the 14 pictures too if possible) to my computer, preferably with the sender names & folder structure intact, it may be a case that an older version of PC Suite will allow me to do that, but a newer version might not. This is especially true given how old the 6610 is. Of course it may be the case that an old version of PC Suite that allows me to copy the texts & pictures to the PC won't work with my new 6220 classic. If that's the case, I hope that I can install the current version of PC Suite over the top of the old version, and then copy everything onto the new phone.
If anyone has any firm ideas about what cable (& version of PC Suite) I should be using, I'd be most grateful.
    Thanks for your attention.

And maybe you don't talk to too many people but I've been on many forums on different websites where people have had similar problems and a lot of people in the store were having battery problems where they were draining too fast. What I learned is that all the people who did not download the updates are good. There phone is working the same. The people who have, they're having battery problems
I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. While there are a few random reports of battery problems, it is no more than I have seen for any other model or any other version of iOS in almost 8 years. Usually problems of rapid battery drain can be traced to bad apps (FaceBook is the worst offender) or corrupt data being synced from iCloud or other sources (gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo, etc).
The simple test is to restore the phone as New. Do not create any email accounts. Do not install any apps. Do not enable FaceTime or iMessage. Do not enable Twitter or any other social networking app. Use it for a day and check the battery usage. You will find that it is working well.
And also see this: http://www.overthought.org/blog/2014/the-ultimate-guide-to-solving-ios-battery-d rain. It is the best treatise I have seen on the subject of battery usage.

  • Best way for a vbs logon script to check which version of Firefox is currently installed

I am currently writing a vbs startup script for our Windows PCs. In the script I wish to detect if Firefox is currently installed on the PC and if so what version is installed, so that I can then run the Firefox installer only if the installed version is out of date.
The main target for this is Windows 7 64-bit, although if it worked for XP that would be a bonus. The script will run as a PC startup script so will execute before a user has logged on.
Ideally I would like to avoid assumptions about the current installation location as we have a number of PCs configured for specialist roles where Firefox won't be in C:\Program Files(x86)\Firefox.
I believe that the information I need can be found in the registry, however the information I have been able to find has generally been conflicting and relating to very old versions of Firefox. Any information you can provide about this for Firefox 5/6 would be very much appreciated.

You can download Firefox 3.6.x from the link below

In TenFourFox, plug-ins are disabled for security reasons, because plug-ins for PPC are outdated and full of vulnerabilities. More information can be found on

  • Is it possible to have Indesign CS4 and CS5.5 both installed on the same Mac? 10.6.8

We have a bunch of recent Intel macs at our corporation.  Currently they should all have 10.6.8.  They were all imaged from a base image that has Adobe CS4 embedded in it.
We are now using a packaging software part of the JAMF Casper suite and AAMIE to push CS5.5 to the end users.
The problem is that we want to keep CS4 on the end user's computers in case of issues.  That way the end users can try Indesign 5.5 and see if it does everything they need to do and still have Indesign for backwards compatiblity.
So we created a CS5.5 install package using the AAMIE tool which works fine.  We then use Casper to spam the package out to a Mac.
The issue that arises is that a few Plugin errors occur during the lauch of Indesign CS5.5 such as:
Adobe inDesign does not recognize InCopy Bridge UI.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
Adobe InDesign does not recognize InCopyExport.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
Adobe InDesign does not recognize InCopyExportUI.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
Adobe InDesign does not recognize InCopyImport.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in.
There was one more plugin error that occured before the first one but I forgot to write it down.
If we click okay to them, the application launches okay but when you quit and relaunch it, you still get one of the errors.
Is this because both applications are installed at the same time?
Is it offically okay as per Adobe to have Indesign CS4 and CS5.5 installed on the same Macintosh?
What else should we be considering what to do?

Well currently, I'm just testing this issue.  I just installed the trial version of  Adobe CS4 suite on my mac and then deployed the CS5.5 package on top off it  The resulting errors that I listed above are the same ones that occur when the end user has a licensed volume license install of CS4 and CS5.5.
So I'm still back to square 1 where when I deploy cs5.5 on an  end user's mac, they get those plugin errors when they launch Indesign CS5.5.
I am not sure about the licensing restrictions, I asked my Director and he is going to check with our VAR.

  • The latest versions of iWork are not installing from the AppStore

I have a new iMac with the bundled copies of Pages 5.0, Keynote 6.0 and Numbers 3.0
The AppStore showed Updates so I updated these and AppStore now things I have Pages 5.1, Numbers 3.1 and Keynote 6.1 installed.
However the versions in my Applications folder stubbornly remain the old versions.  When I open the Apps they say "A new version is available" so I click on Update which takes me to the App Store which says the software is all up-to-date!
How do I get the latest versions
(Other apps seem to owrk OK - e..g latest update to iMovie worked fine)
    Thanks

Pretty much the same - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24697344#24697344.
Today, the App Store is again offering me updates to these iWork apps (for the 4th time, now) e.g. Pages 5.1. etc
Although it said it had updated to 5.1 last time, the /Library/Receipts/InstallHistory.plist indicates that Apple downloaded 5.0.1 again! So of course when I opened it after updating, it was still 5.0.1.
These forums seem to be quite angry still about these latest versions of iWork vs the previous '09 versions, see also this in the Pages forum https://discussions.apple.com/message/24701724#24701724. Not sure that there is much interest in getting 5.1 issues solved?
    Cheers

  • Which version of Reader 9 (if any) has the End of File button?

I sell CDs containing over 100 linked pdf files created in InDesign 4. The CDs also contain version 6 of Reader for navigating the bookmarks and links in the pdf files. The disc contains a Tutorial.pdf file with navigation instructions. These refer to the navigation buttons visible in Reader 6 and make extensive use of the End of File button (green with a white left pointing arrow) as a quick means of getting back to the Start file which is the portal to all the others.. Some owners who have Reader 9 installed say that the End of File button is not displayed on their screen. This has come from owners using XP, Vista and Win 7. Is there a version of Reader 9 for Windows that retains this button, please?

What you are referring to is the First Page and Last Page buttons:  "|<"   and ">|" respectively.  These can be found by right-clicking on an empty part of the File toolbar and navigating to "Page Navigation Toolbar" in the More Tools pop-up-window.  They are not check-marked by default which is why they don't display.  The user can turn them on by placing a checkmark next to those icons in the pop-up window for "More Tools"

  • Where can I find which versions of Crystal Reports are compatible with the Runtimes?

The Crystal Runtimes run reports authored in Crystal Reports.  Where is it documented which version of Crystal Reports can be used to author reports for which version of the Runtimes?
If I use the latest Runtimes can I consume reports authored in any version of Crystal Reports, e.g. Crystal Reports version 10?  Or Crystal Reports 2013?

Latest runtimes is rather vague(?), but yes the runtime for CR 2008 and "SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET" will have no issues running reports create in previous versions of CR - all that way back to CR 9.x. After that, it gets more difficult the further back you go.
As for reports create in CR 2011 and / or CR 2013 no issue in "SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET", guaranteed. Using those reports in CR 2008 should also not be an issue - e.g. I can't think of any features introduced in CR 2011 / 2013 that would not work in CR 2008.

The answer to that question depends as much on your goals and expectations than on your system type.
As for an option that's received wide note of late, the GitX GUI-version of git.  That might be easier for you.
From that list you've linked, your choice is 32-bit or 64-bit (your Core 2 Duo is 64-bit) and your software version; whether you are running 10.5 Leopard, 10.6 Snow Leopard or 10.7 Lion on that MacBook.  I'd expect you can run the recent 64-bit Snow Leopard variant.  (I'm somewhat surprised there's such a warren of git installers posted, but that complexity and how that might be reduced is another discussion.)
As for some of the notation in that list, i386 is an Intel binary, and (in this context) 32-bit, and x86-64 is also Intel, and 64-bit.  The rest of that string is the git version, and the target Mac OS X version.

  • Deinstall previous version of Creative Suite after installing new CS 5.5?

I just installed new CS 5.5 software. Following the instructions, I did not first de-install the previous CS 4 version. I assumed that the installation of CS 5.5 would automatically de-install the prior version, but it did not. I found no advice concerning the need for deinstalling the prior version. Why? Doesn't it take up system resources? Or should it remain on the system in order to support documents created with the prior version? I have a Macbookpro with OS X, ver. 10.6.8. BTW, my partner is a PC IT guy, who thinks one should keep a tidy ship!

It depends on which applications you use and how much compatability you need with older versions.  There is no need to remove CS4 other than it might free up a small amount of disk space.
There is also a good chance that the file associations for different Adobe documents will be affected after the removal of CS4.
