Which version of Dreamweaver should I be learning. CS6 or CC? Why are they different?

Which version of Dreamweaver should I be learning. CS6 or CC? Why are they different?  I am learning CS6 in school, I wanted to practice at home so I joined Creative Cloud.  Although both versions are available,  I understand that the DWCC is the most recent version and CS6 will be faded out.  I'm half way through CS6 and now see there are a lot of differences in the format of CC.

Jon has the best answer here, though nancy's absolutely correct. I have seen no instruction manuals for the Creative Cloud version of Dreamweaver.
Fact is, while there are differences, if you learn CS6, Creative Cloud won't be too much of a stretch. I would suggest that there are lots of differences between Dreamweaver MX (released 29 May 2002) and Creative Cloud (released this year). So, if you're looking at an old MX tutorial, it's probably a good idea to purchase a different book and tutorial.
Dreamweaver is, essentially, a code editor. This is absolutely crucial for you to understand. It's not like Adobe's InDesign, a drag-and-drop WYSIWYG page layout tool. The Worldwide Web is entirely based on HyperText Markup Language, which is in its 4th version, with a 5th proposed and on the cusp of being agreed to. Dreamweaver started supporting HTML5 with CS 5.5 (version 11.5).
So, if what you do is go out and buy books on HTML 4, XHTML and HTML5, you will be learning what is really required in Dreamweaver. As to the Dreamweaver interface, it's a bunch of panels that can, pretty much, be ignored. If you edit in Split View, you will see your web page as you build it (but it won't really be correct unless you switch to Live View, which does not update as you edit). And you still have to check everything out in a browser (two or three would actually be good).
So, do your tutorials on CS6 because they'll pretty much give you a good enough idea about how Dreameaver CC works, but learn HTML and CSS. Otherwise, you'll find yourself hopelessly lost.

  • Which version of iPhoto should I use?

When I picked up my repaired MacBook (Intel Core Duo) the person at the Apple Store showed me how to restore all of its data using my Time Machine backup.  He told me that during the repair they had installed Snow Leopard.  He had forgotten that I had told him when the MacBook first died we were told it was not worth repairing and we purchased a new MacBook Pro running Lion.  The TM backup was from that machine.  The intent was to have two machines with the same Apps & data so each of two users could take either machine and go forward from that point.  Each machine would then have its own TM Backup.
After many discussions with tech support, almost everything except iPhoto (and incoming Apple Mail) on the MacBook works OK.  That's probably because during the restore, iPhoto 9.1.5 was installed.  It does not open because of a Frameworks conflict of some sort.  Earlier versions of iPhoto say the Library was created with a newer version.  (I temporarily moved the iPhoto Library out of my User>Pictures Folder, opened iPhoto 7.x and imported some photo's to create a new Library.  That worked.  My original Library is 35 GB so each attempt to fix anything in it has been time consuming.  That's why I'm asking the real experts.
I've seen a suggestion from Terrance Devlin to "rebuild" the Library using the iPhoto Library Manager and others by Terrance, Neil, Old Toad, and Kappy to drag a different version of Frameworks into System>Library>?  (Apparently, some OS X 10.7 support files were loaded onto the MacBook.)  Which ones and which version?
Which version of iPhoto should I use on the MacBook?  Which version does OS X 10.6.8 support?  Eventually, we'd also like to merge some of the individual Libraries into a shared Library.  Is iPhoto Library Manager the best way to do that?  (Speaking of that, I understand Apple does not support backup of non-Lion Mac's via Wi-Fi, except if using Time Capsule.  Seagate sells an external 2 TB Hard Drive that connects via ethernet to your Router, for that purpose.  Does it work well?)

    Terence,
Below is a copy of the Problem Report I get after I double click the iPhoto (9.1.5) icon in my Applications folder.  Both iPhoto 6 and iPhoto 7 open but cannot read my iPhoto Library that was restored from a Lion TM backup.  I tried moving my iPhoto Library out of the Pictures folder and was able to create a new one using iPhoto 7.1.5.
Inside of System>Library, there are two copies of the following folders:
    Frameworks
    PodcastProducer
    Keychains
    Java
In each case, the name of the second folder includes "(from old Mac)" without the quotes after the folder name.  I believe my issue is being caused by the System using Frameworks instead of Frameworks (from old Mac), but I have not been able to switch them easily and, as you said, do not want to do serious damage.
The only other thing that does not work properly is incoming IMAP mail via AOL and Google.  Outgoing works on those two plus Incoming and Outgoing work on the Verizon POP account.

and isnt ipad supposedly locked to at&t and verizon????

They aren't locked in this edition for worldwide use. However I don't believe you can use an AT&T on Verizon and vice versa. If you have CDMA service you will need the Verizon iPad.

Point it to the 2013 CAS, it will handle both versions. Note that autodiscover is version specific, so in reality it will work no matter what version of CAS the autodiscover DNS record points to, but best practice is to get pointing to the 2013 CAS so you
    can check that off.

  • Is Adobe Dreamweaver and Muse the same as Web Suite?  Are they compatible?

I currently have Adobe Creative Cloud.  My friend is building me a website using Adode Web Suite.  Is Adobe Dreamweaver and Muse the same as Web Suite?  Are they compatible?

Dreamweaver is NOT the same as Muse.   These are two very different products aimed at different users.
Muse is consumer level software for hobbyists and non-coders with little web experience.   Dreamweaver is pro-level software for experienced web developers. Coding skills are essential.  More than likely, your web designer is using Dreamweaver.
Muse is only available by subscription to the Creative Cloud.  Dreamweaver can be obtained on a single license, in a product suite or by subscription to the Creative Cloud.  See Product Comparison Guide below for details:

  • Which Version of Dreamweaver?

I was just granted a license to Dreamweaver through my
company. It's Dreamweaver MX version 6.0. I'd like to take an
online class for using the tool, but the class requires the 2004
version of Dreamweaver MX and I can't tell if my version matches.
I've looked in the "Help > About Dreamweaver" menu, but
all it tells me is the version, not the year.
If I'm using Dreamweaver MX version 6.0, is that 2004 or
    newer?
    Thanks in advance.

It's older. By alot. The sequence was -
    DMX6.0 - DMX6.1 - DMX2004 - DMX2004 7.0.1 - DW8 - DW8 8.0.1 -
    DW8 8.0.2
If your company will allow you to upgrade, that would be
    best.

  • Why are there different versions of KB's?

(I didn't know in what forum catagory to put this, this seemed like the best option)
KB's have different versions to them, for example, KB942288 goes to version 4.
Does anyone know the difference between versions?
If you have security update KB2894842 instead of KB2894842v2 are you less safe or is the versioning simply a matter of something else?
Also, is there a surefire way of knowing which version is the latest? Sometimes the technet support site does not have an article for the specific KB, only the Microsoft ID (MSXX-XXX) and there you would have to look for the file name, KBSOMETHING-v2.exe.

Many IMAP email services come with a notes feature just like iCloud, you simply have all yours turned on.
On your Mac, go to system preferences > Internet accounts and make sure you are logged into all 3 accounts and that notes is checked for each.
Then go to your notes application and drag all of your notes from the other two accounts into iCloud, go back to system preferences > Internet accounts and uncheck notes on your other 2 accounts.
Now go to settings > mail, contacts, calendars on your mobile device and turn off notes for the other 2 accounts.

  • Which package of dreamweaver should I buy for my local scout association? Personal? smallbusiness? It's only user will be me

    Hello,
I want to create a webpage for my local scout association, and I would like to use dreamweaver to do it.
It's not something I will get paid for.
But I can not figure out which package I need to buy.
Because it is only me who will be using it, and therefore I thought it should be a personal license.
But I am also a student at university college of northern, therefore I thought it should be a Student license.
but maybe I'm wrong and it should be a license for a small business?
Can anybody please explains to me which package I need to buy?
In advance thank you for your time :-)
    //Lars

if you can qualify as a student, getting a student license is less expensive (but more of a hassle to obtain because of documentation needed).
otherwise, you would get a personal/individual license.

  • Which version of JDeveloper should I use for Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2?

I am developing a stand alone application using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, because I don't want to use the OAF extension. Can I run this stand alone application using Oracle Applications server (Oracle Applications version 11.5.10.2)? If no, which JDeveloper version should I use? If yes, could you please provide some direction on the deployment of stand alone application? Thanks in advance.

If you are using the application server that comes with Oracle Applications - you probably need to use the JDeveloper version that comes with that one too. (The OAF forum will have more info on this).
If you are using JDeveloper 10.1.3 then you can use a stand alone OC4J 10.1.3 to deploy your applications - and save yourself the hassle of messing up with your apps server.

  • KB2850661 - which versions of windows should this apply to ?

    Hi
There was a fix released for "Multiple user groups including Remote Desktop Users are missing after you upgrade to Windows 8 Pro using the Pro Pack" problem that was detailed under KB2850661.  On the page describing the problem it says it
    applies to
    Windows 8 Pro
    Windows 8
It turns out I have what looks like exactly the same issue with Windows 8.1.  Now this was issue was actually *really* fixed with a patch (KB 2855336) that applied to all the following:
    Windows 8
    Windows 8 Enterprise
    Windows 8 Pro
    Windows Server 2012 Datacenter
    Windows Server 2012 Essentials
    Windows Server 2012 Foundation
    Windows Server 2012 Standard
    Windows RT
Can anyone comment as to whether this fix should also be applicable to Windows 8.1 which is displaying exactly the same symptoms ? I tried to manually apply the patch but it tells me that it is not applicable to my (windows 8.1 pro pack x64) system.
    Thanks

    Hi craigdrobinson,
Is the Windows 8.1 machine upgraded from the Windows 8 ?
"I've fixed this issue by refreshing my 8.1 pro version"
Do you mean you have resolved the issue by refreshing the machine or the issue persists ?
Obviously the KB 2855336 is not applied to Windows 8.1 Pro.
When did the issue start to occur ?Have you made any modifications to the machine or installed any third party software before this issue ?
First of all ,I would suggest you to run "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" or "sfc /scannow"to check the health of the system files .There is a possibility that the system files has corrupted.
Please ensure the machine has got the latest updates.
    Best regards

  • Which version of Photoshop should I be using?

I'm a CC subscriber and now I have CC 2014; CC 64 bit and CC installed. Photoshop is running ridiculously slow. I have a 64 bit PC; i7 processor with 16GB Ram.
Should I uninstall all three and do a fresh install of one version?

I don't think the version of PS is your problem.  Try searching for 'running slow' or similar on the forum. There have been several threads on the subject.
FYI - I have a similar PC and have CS4, CC and CC2014 installed and each runs fast. CS4 loads slower but it's on a HD while others are on SSD.

  • New computer - which version of Audition should I get if I'm a senior on a budget?

I am 70 years old and my windows XP crashed.  I have bought a used Windows7 64bit, that's what they tell me.  I have old cassette tapes with backing trax on.
I sing at seniors lodges for *free*.  I need something to clean the tape hiss and lower the pitch on most of the songs and some editing, ie. adding or removing an extra verse.  I did have Cool Edit Audition 2.0 but that is now gone even though I have the old program on a CD I have lost the code to start it.
What can I get seeing I am on limited income?
    Please help.

    Hi Ian,
Since you have Audition 2.0, you can download an update of Audition 3 at no charge.  First, visit Download Acrobat 7 and CS2 products and click English then locate Audition 3.0 in the list.  Click the link for the file ADBEAudition_ESD1_WWEFGJIS.exe and use the serial number listed next to that link when installing.  You should then be able to continue cleaning up your recordings.

  • Which version of windows should I buy

What is the difference between Windows Vista for systems builders and the Retail Version of Windows Vista. Newegg.com sells both and there is over a $100 dollars price difference in price. I want to install Windows Vista on my recently purchased iMac and am not sure what to buy.

    *Retail Version*
You can purchase this version and install on your iMac. In the future you can uninstall this version and install on another Intel computer (PC or Intel Mac). You can do this repeatedly as long as you have it installed on ONE computer at a time. You are eligible for 90 days support from Microsoft also.
    *OEM Version (System Builders)*
You can purchase this version and install it on your iMAC. That is it. You cannot transfer it to another computer at all. This license does not allow you to transfer from computer to another. Its activation code is tied to the motherboard of your computer. This version performs just as fine as the Retail version however the difference, as noted above, is that it cannot be transferred.

  • Why are there different versions of Firefox 28.0 for Windows

I have a desktop PC running Windows 7 and a laptop running Windows 8.1. I set them both up with Firefox, and they both have Firefox 28.0 installed at the moment.
However, while the desktop version is a plain 28.0, the laptop declares itself to be 28.0 EU ballot. (yes, it probably was loaded via the browser choice facility in Windows).
Is there any actual code difference between the versions, and if not, why confuse me by identifying them differently?
The difference came to my attention while i was investing a problem with a mapping program on the UK's national government mapping services website, which runs fine on the desktop, but stalls while loading on the laptop. The Ordnance Survey say that they are working on fixing a problem introduced by Firefox 28.0, so I started looking at the differences between my two machines.

Sorry, perhaps I was unclear. The OS have not, to my knowledge, published anything regarding the problem with Getamap - the information came in an email reply to a support call I raised when I encountered the hang. Here is the text of that reply.
    Dear ************,
Thank you for contacting Ordnance Survey regarding OS getamap.
The latest update to Mozilla Firefox has effected users trying to access OS getamap. We are currently working on a solution to resolve the issue. Presently you should be able to access OS getamap with Internet Explorer.
I hope this information has been helpful.

  • How do we invoke method of ejb which is on websphere through a jsp running on iplanet and both are on different machines?

If you open the Example Finder and enter "dialog" you will find a "Login Dialog" VI that is a popup with a Close button. It is setup as a dialog, but this can be easily changed from the VI Properties->Window Appearance.
An alternative approach if you want the stuff displayed all the time is to use subpanels. This embeds a subVI's front panel in a subpanel on a main VI. Another option is to use a tab control.
You need to think beyond how to popup windows. You need to think architecture, which is where 90% of your programming is going to be concentrated. The best approach for you is a producer-consumer architecture. Search this group for "producer consumer" and you'll come up with many examples.
This may seem like a cop-out answer, but your manager needs to seriously consider hiring an experienced LabVIEW developer who has done plant automation to act as a consultant and guide you. Anytime you're dealing with hardware there are always safety issues, even if you don't think there are. When you say "there is no major interlocks", that scares me.
What you're describing isn't overly difficult, but for someone who's just starting out it can be overwhelming, especially if you have no prior programming experience. And I don't mean LabVIEW experience - I mean basic programming knowledge and experience. 90% of the problems people have programming in LabVIEW is that they simply don't know how to program in the first place.
