Which version of iPhoto you need for streaming?

I have an iPhone 4, with iOS 5, streaming active. But there is no streaming of pictures towards my Mac. I read the explanations, the help pages in iCloud and Apple doesn't mention at all which version of iPhoto you need for this feature. It's sure that in the Sources I don't have "Streaming", as I can see in their image. I have iPhoto 8.1.2 and OS 10 6.8.

Hi, thanks for the answer, but iCloud works on my Mac with Snow Leopard.
From Safari I can access through icloud.com to Calendar, Contacts, Mail, iWork and Find my iPhone. Actually I don't have iWork for the iPhone, so I can't really use it, and I didn't activate Mail (in my iPhone), because all my accounts are IMAP and messages are saved forever.
Well, the only other thing that interested me was Streaming (so is it called in Italian, but you are right, in the English version of the help pages it is called Photo Stream).
I'm aware that the version of iPhoto that I need for that feature must be more recent than mine, but I still hope that there is a version of iPhoto which supports Photo Stream and requires only Snow Leopard. I think that after iLife 9 (my version) there is directly iLife 11 (the present version), and I know it requires only 10.6.3 and not Lion. If Photo Stream is supported by iLife 11 and iLife 11 requires 10.6.3.... But perhaps there is an exception for some features, like Photo Stream. I would like to know...
I don't want to update to Lion, it is a slow system.
Thanks again

  • What version of mail do you need for 10.6.8

what version of mail do you need for 10.6.8

Sounds like you did the Security Update and got the this version is not compatible message.
    See possible fixes here.

The update, which failed for you in Mail because you had moved Mail out of the Applications folder, where it needed to be to be found, or it was sitting inside another folder there, changed the version to 4.6 and you are getting that message because it's seeing the "old" version.

  • "In order to open iPhoto, you need to update to the latest version."

    Hi Guys,
My computer was running really slow, so I decided to reload the operating system. I'm running 10.7.4 on a MacBook Air that was purchased almost 12 months ago. Instead of restoring from Time Machine I just copied my Documents, Music, and Photos to an external HD, then erased the internal HD, reloaded Lion, and ran all the updates. I re-installed iLife '11, ran software update again so it would update those apps as well. I copied the old iphoto library into my "Pictures" folder, then went to open iPhoto and the following came up.
In order to open iPhoto, you need to update to the latest version.
Please run Software Update to install it now.
So I run Software Update, and it says everything is up to date. Go back to iPhoto, same thing. Shut down and restart, same thing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
    - Jared
PS, did the same thing with my music folder and iTunes, and everything there is working seamlessly.

For future reference of anyone else that runs into this with a new iLife 2011 installation on Lion.  The installation off the iLife 2011 DVD results in a iPhoto installation that won't open (saying it needs to be updated) and the OS X software update that doesn't see iPhoto 2011 as needing updating.
The solution appears to be to download the manual update to iPhoto 11 (v9.1) located here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1322
Then check the OS X software update, now it should so iPhoto in need of updating to v9.3 or so and iPhoto should open after that update is applied.
A very annoying bug that should be caught by Lion's OS X software update in the first place..

  • Which version of iPhoto should I use?

When I picked up my repaired MacBook (Intel Core Duo) the person at the Apple Store showed me how to restore all of its data using my Time Machine backup.  He told me that during the repair they had installed Snow Leopard.  He had forgotten that I had told him when the MacBook first died we were told it was not worth repairing and we purchased a new MacBook Pro running Lion.  The TM backup was from that machine.  The intent was to have two machines with the same Apps & data so each of two users could take either machine and go forward from that point.  Each machine would then have its own TM Backup.
After many discussions with tech support, almost everything except iPhoto (and incoming Apple Mail) on the MacBook works OK.  That's probably because during the restore, iPhoto 9.1.5 was installed.  It does not open because of a Frameworks conflict of some sort.  Earlier versions of iPhoto say the Library was created with a newer version.  (I temporarily moved the iPhoto Library out of my User>Pictures Folder, opened iPhoto 7.x and imported some photo's to create a new Library.  That worked.  My original Library is 35 GB so each attempt to fix anything in it has been time consuming.  That's why I'm asking the real experts.
I've seen a suggestion from Terrance Devlin to "rebuild" the Library using the iPhoto Library Manager and others by Terrance, Neil, Old Toad, and Kappy to drag a different version of Frameworks into System>Library>?  (Apparently, some OS X 10.7 support files were loaded onto the MacBook.)  Which ones and which version?
Which version of iPhoto should I use on the MacBook?  Which version does OS X 10.6.8 support?  Eventually, we'd also like to merge some of the individual Libraries into a shared Library.  Is iPhoto Library Manager the best way to do that?  (Speaking of that, I understand Apple does not support backup of non-Lion Mac's via Wi-Fi, except if using Time Capsule.  Seagate sells an external 2 TB Hard Drive that connects via ethernet to your Router, for that purpose.  Does it work well?)

    Terence,
Below is a copy of the Problem Report I get after I double click the iPhoto (9.1.5) icon in my Applications folder.  Both iPhoto 6 and iPhoto 7 open but cannot read my iPhoto Library that was restored from a Lion TM backup.  I tried moving my iPhoto Library out of the Pictures folder and was able to create a new one using iPhoto 7.1.5.
Inside of System>Library, there are two copies of the following folders:
    Frameworks
    PodcastProducer
    Keychains
    Java
In each case, the name of the second folder includes "(from old Mac)" without the quotes after the folder name.  I believe my issue is being caused by the System using Frameworks instead of Frameworks (from old Mac), but I have not been able to switch them easily and, as you said, do not want to do serious damage.
The only other thing that does not work properly is incoming IMAP mail via AOL and Google.  Outgoing works on those two plus Incoming and Outgoing work on the Verizon POP account.

  • Which version of iPhoto to make/purchase a book?

I'm running OS X v.10.4.11 on my MacBook with iPhoto 6.0.6 and apparently I need to upgrad my iPhoto to order and purchase a book of photos I'm making. Any idea which version of iPhoto I'll need?

It's hard to know what version you need.
Your current version 6 was part of iLife '06. iPhoto is part of iLife '08 and runs on OS 10.4.x. iPhoto is part of iLife '09, but it requires OS 10.5.x.

  • You can't open photo library using this version of iphoto. you have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iphoto. please quit and use the latest version of iphoto

you can't open photo library using this version of iphoto. you have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iphoto. please quit and use latest version of iphoto. iphoto 11 is installed.

This is a message you got?
If so, as your post isn't clear, it may be a bogus message caused by a corrupt database.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • I need help identifying which Magsafe Power Adapter I need for my Macbook Pro Model A1398, EMC 2673?

I need help identifying which Magsafe Power Adapter I need for my Macbook Pro Model A1398, EMC 2673?

Provided the computer-end fits, you are free to use one with a HIGHER Wattage rating. No damage whatsoever will be done to any component, but it will likely run cooler (but may be slightly heavier).
If you use one with too LOW a Wattage rating, you will not be able to charge and run at the same time, and your computer's top speed (for its most intensive computations) will be limited.

And of course I forgot about the built in way to send them back to the Mac .... Email them. You can email up to 5 photos at at time.
Launch the photos app, while looking at the photos in thumbnail view - tap the arrow icon in the upper right corner - tap on up to 5 photos at a time - Tap the Share button in the upper left corner - tap email from the resulting window.

  • Which version of Safari I need to download?

I have a MacBook that's five years old and I'm trying to figure out which version of Safari is best for my computer

Safari is not downloadable by itself. It's part of the OS. If there is not a newer version available in system updates, the only way you're getting a newer one is to upgrade the version of OS X you're running.

  • Which two operattions do you need to perform after restoring---QNo.106

In your database, all the tablespace are locally managed. You started RMAN using recovery catalog and restoring the contol file by using the following command:
    RMAN>RESTORE CONTROLFILE;
which two operations do you need to perform after restoring the control file from backup?(choose two)
    A. shut down and restart the instance
    B. add new tempfiles to the temporary tablespaces after recovery
    C. perform a media recovery and open the database with the RESETLOGS option
    D. perform a media recovery and bring the database to NOARCHIVELOG mode

This question is a little ambiguous.
C is a correct answer when restoring a control file

After you restore a backup control file, you must run RECOVER DATABASE and then open the database with the RESETLOGS option.
    B. If you were restoring a database from a backup you would need to create the temp files because temp files are not backed up.

  • Which version Diagnotics Agent to install for ERP6 systems using SM 7.1 ?

    Hi,
I have a recently installed Solution Manager 7.1 system and would now like to add our managed systems for monitoring.
Our managed systems are all running NW EHP2 / ERP6 EHP5 and I have installed the latest SAPHostagent 7.2 on each of these systems. These systems are non unicode running on Suse Linux Enterprise 10.
I'm confused as to which version Diagnostic Agent to install for this setup. Under Solution Manager 7.1 in SWDC the managing agents are for a 7.3 installation only and the prerequisites require Suse Linux Enterprise 11. I'm not sure whether I can use agents located under older Solution Manager systems.
With the above information in mind can you help ?
