Which version of iTunes do you recommend?

I recently upgraded to 7.5 after a long time of not upgrading, but when it started working like crap and becoming staticky, I uninstalled itunes and went to 6.05. However, 6.05 is a little old for me and I'd prefer a newer version that doesn't conk out all the time from bugs. Does anyone have a recommendation? I can't remember which version I had before upgrading to 7.5 since I waited so long. It was a newer version, I think, probably in the 7's.

7.2 is the most recent version that wasn't really buggy. It also was the last version that put numbers and symbols aphabetically before "A" and didn't ignore the A word at the beginning of a band name (Now A Perfect Circle, for example, is showing up in "P").

  • With the latest version of itunes, are you able to search your library by purchase date?

With the latest version of itunes, are you able to search your library by purchase date?  My prior itunes software had Name, Time, Artist, Album, Genre, Rating, Plays and Purchased.  With Version 11.0.3 of itunes, 'Purchased' is not a tabbed option to sort.  Can this be added?
    Thanks.

    Hey jeffwcincy,
Great question, we simply need to check "Purchased Date" from the View Options menu.
In iTunes 11, click the "View" menu and choose "Show View Options". Located under "Stats" is the "Purchase Date" option.

  • Which version of iTunes  to update iOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.3?

Which version of iTunes  to update iOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.3?
    I have used 10.5.2 and 10.2.2 and I get several errors from 3194, 1013 and 1.

I don't have saved SSH for 4.3.3, is it still possible to update to 4.3.3?

  • Mac 10.5.8 should be install which version for itunes? and how to get it?

i am using mac os x 10.5.8, can not open itunes in my mac(it says"it was install by a higher version"), so that i need to re-install a lower version. But there was only itunes 10.7 on apple.com for free download, how can i get the lower version for itunes that i could install to fit my os? thx!

    Dear John Galt,
(That is an awesome character from Atlas Shrugged)
I am using an iBook G-4, and the software operating system is OS X 10.5.8
I have installed the iTunes 10.6.3, but it refuses to open and gives a notification that
" iTunes requires QuickTime 7.5.5 or later. For more information on upgrading your computer, visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime "
On visiting that page for QuickTime, I could not find any information to get this version for upgrading my existing QuickTime player, which is a QuickTime version 7.3.0
Please guide me how to overcome this situation.
Just to give you a brief idea as to why this situation has started:
My kids used this machine, and naturally used it in a way they should not have - specialy not on a bed.
The inner socket for charging my iBook had broken, and so could not recharge the battery again. Therefore my machine was shut for over 8 months as the cost to repair it was prohibitive. Later I attempted to repair it on my own, and succeeded, However, even the internal battery backup was dead due to such a long time of inactivity without a re-chargem and this led to my hard disk to malfunction.
So, I had to re-install the Leopard disk, and tried to salvage as much of the old documents, photographs, and music as I could. I lost every single photograph on the hard disk, but managed to save documents and some music.
I'm still using the same hard disk, and it has been working without a problem since I re-installed the leopard. But, I lost a few programmes - iTunes, Keynote and maybe a few others.
I downloaded the iTunes 10.6.3, but as I have explained above, I've been unable to start it yet.
My apologies for such a long message, but I felt I wouldn't do justice without giving you an explanation as to why this happened.
I would really appreciate your input, to resolve this situation.
    Thank you very much.

  • Which version of iTunes uses QT 7.1.6?

Long story short... I upgraded to the latest versions of both iTunes and QuickTime (as they come bundled) and found that some very important software I use conflicts with the latest version of QT. I was told by their tech support to downgrade to QT 7.1.6, which I have.
Now, iTunes tells me it won't open because I don't have the latest version of QT installed, which the newest version of iTunes requires. I've uninstalled iTunes and am looking to reinstall a downgraded version, but I need to know what the most up-to-date version is that can still use QT 7.1.6.
I hope that makes sense, and thank you in advance for any help!

I don't know what the most recent version of iTunes that can use QuickTime 7.1.6 is, but I looked back over my files and see that, before mid-November 2007, my latest files were encoded with iTunes 7.1.1 and QuickTime 7.1.5. After that, it was iTunes 7.5 and QT 7.3. Perhaps iTunes 7.5 could still use QT 7.1.6, and perhaps iTunes 7.1.1 could use QT 7.1.6. Maybe iTunes 7.7.1 was able to use QT 7.1.6, but I don't know.
You could Get Info for some of your older songs and see what encoded them.

  • Which version of iTunes 9 is killing iPods?

Hi Everyone: I've been reading the horror stories about the new version of iTunes that's ruining everyone's iPod and I have the very newest version...9.0.1 that I just downloaded. When I had 9.0, it recognized my iPod but wouldn't sync it...which I've also read about. Now I'm afraid to hook up my iPod with the 9.0.1. Does anyone know which version is killing the iPods? And should I go back to an earlier version? I'm scared to death to hook my iPod up to this newest version. I'm having enough problems with getting all of my music off of my iPod onto my new computer that I don't want to kill my iPod since that's the only place I have all of my music. Thanks SO much if there is anyone out there that can help

late response...like us mac user the problem exists. There is a problem with sync between itunes and ipod(s) - (classic for me). I went thru fraustrations of re-store, re-format, re-set and a host of recommended soluctions from apple or users to get my classic running well again. No solution yet, it is a conflict with sync on the ipod, it seems that it won't handle large transfers of files, maybe one or two before it freezes itself and iTunes, too. I was ready to abandon the classic but now I'll wait for an apple fix. Classic is a good ipod, but when sync conflict occurs it shut itself down or go into deep freeze...like here in the Arctic

  • Do you need to have the same OS as the version of itunes that you're downloading for it to work

I'm recieving an error everytime i try to open my recently downloaded version of iTunes. Not sure if i need the most recent OS in order to open the newer iTunes

No, there's some overlap with the OS versions you can use with different versions of iTunes, but one thing is for certain, you can't use iTunes10 with OSX 10.4.11  You need  Leopard at a minimum.  The highest you can go with Tiger is 9.2.1 but if you need support for a brand new i-gadget then you need the iTunes specified on the box (at least) and that's likely to be version 10.

  • Which version of Reader allows you to add and/or delete pages from a pdf file?  My company just reloaded all basic software and I now have version 11, but it isn't the same and I lost this functionality.

I just need to know which version to download because I don't remember which one I had.  Currently have vs. 11 which doesn't allow adding/deleting pages.

No versions of Adobe Reader allows this. You more than likely had a version of Adobe Acrobat. Any version of Acrobat has this ability.

  • Which of these solutions would you recommend?

while trying to create a login system using JSP, I ran into several tutorials, and tried creating one by using java beans to keep track of the session.
The bean stores the username by using setUserID(String userID), and also sets a certain variable to true if the user is logged in.
To create different levels or types of users, and add more functionality to this login system, I believe I could add more properties to determine the level and other necessary information (with information taken from a database), and simply use a beanid.getProperty() to check for the information I need for example.
I know that another way and the more common way to create a login system while securing other pages on the website, is to use session tracking and the session variable to set different values, etc... and keep track of the user.
Now my question is, which one of these 2 solutions would you recommend? Which one do you believe to be more secure?
    Thanks.

Arent both essentially the same? In the first, you set all properties in a single bean object and bind that object to the session. In the second, you bind each property individually to the session. So there is nothing to choose 'security' wise between the two options. Security, I believe, has nothing to do with how you track the user's session. Usage of SSL for example is a security technique.
Having said that, if we confine your question to which is a better option for session management per se, I would favour the first (a single bean). I am not a great fan of a bloated session object though. You can always query necessary info from the db using this id rather than storing it in the session.
Note you neednt set a variable to indicate that the user has logged in. The presence of the UserBean is sufficient to indicate the logged in status (assuming that you create such a bean only on successful login).
Hope this is useful to you.

  • Which TV recording cards do you recommend??

I guess the title says it all.
Im looking to buy a TV card and use the Mega 180 as a VCR....but since nothing is easy with the MEGAS i just wanted to know from peoples experience which one work and are pretty easy to install and setup??
    cheers
    Jon
    Standard MEGA 180
    AthlonXP 2800+ Barton
    BIOS out of the box
    Geil 1 x 512MB DDR PC3200 400MHz (running at 333)
    MSI X52P combo drive
    Master - Samsung 5400rpm 1600GB (XP SP2)

I would always go for a card which has a hardware encoder onboard.
    Hauppauge PVR cards are great.
Very good support for all software.
And there is a new version called the PVR150mce and you can buy this one for approx. 70 euro.
Thats a great card at a great price with best performance possible.
Never problems with out of sync audio or dropped frames.
And your CPU stays untouched wich is nice in a HTPC environment.
