Which version of iTunes uses QT 7.1.6?

Long story short... I upgraded to the latest versions of both iTunes and QuickTime (as they come bundled) and found that some very important software I use conflicts with the latest version of QT. I was told by their tech support to downgrade to QT 7.1.6, which I have.
Now, iTunes tells me it won't open because I don't have the latest version of QT installed, which the newest version of iTunes requires. I've uninstalled iTunes and am looking to reinstall a downgraded version, but I need to know what the most up-to-date version is that can still use QT 7.1.6.
I hope that makes sense, and thank you in advance for any help!

I don't know what the most recent version of iTunes that can use QuickTime 7.1.6 is, but I looked back over my files and see that, before mid-November 2007, my latest files were encoded with iTunes 7.1.1 and QuickTime 7.1.5. After that, it was iTunes 7.5 and QT 7.3. Perhaps iTunes 7.5 could still use QT 7.1.6, and perhaps iTunes 7.1.1 could use QT 7.1.6. Maybe iTunes 7.7.1 was able to use QT 7.1.6, but I don't know.
You could Get Info for some of your older songs and see what encoded them.

  • How do I go back to an older version of iTunes using Time Machine?

This latest version of iTunes (v.12) is crashing, not to mention when I connect my iphone or ipod it's not only harder to use them but I can no longer see the break-down of what is on them, e.g. now it's just "12 GB full" rather than "9GB music, 1GB audiobooks, 2GB podcasts". I want to go back to the previous version but Time Machine just says iTunes "can't be modified or deleted." Is there a way around this?

Do a web search for "revert iTunes".  There are many web sites with detailed instructions.  It is a complicated process and I do not think it can be achieved with Time Machine alone.  Time Machine can act as a source for your old library file but the rest involves going into protected files and folders of the system and removing various components.  Oh, the version to which you want to revert also has to be one of the few still available for download.  I don't, for example, think you can download a copy of iTunes 12.0  It would have to be 11.4 and you would have to have a backup copy of your library file from back when you used that version.

  • Mac 10.5.8 should be install which version for itunes? and how to get it?

i am using mac os x 10.5.8, can not open itunes in my mac(it says"it was install by a higher version"), so that i need to re-install a lower version. But there was only itunes 10.7 on apple.com for free download, how can i get the lower version for itunes that i could install to fit my os? thx!

    Dear John Galt,
(That is an awesome character from Atlas Shrugged)
I am using an iBook G-4, and the software operating system is OS X 10.5.8
I have installed the iTunes 10.6.3, but it refuses to open and gives a notification that
" iTunes requires QuickTime 7.5.5 or later. For more information on upgrading your computer, visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime "
On visiting that page for QuickTime, I could not find any information to get this version for upgrading my existing QuickTime player, which is a QuickTime version 7.3.0
Please guide me how to overcome this situation.
Just to give you a brief idea as to why this situation has started:
My kids used this machine, and naturally used it in a way they should not have - specialy not on a bed.
The inner socket for charging my iBook had broken, and so could not recharge the battery again. Therefore my machine was shut for over 8 months as the cost to repair it was prohibitive. Later I attempted to repair it on my own, and succeeded, However, even the internal battery backup was dead due to such a long time of inactivity without a re-chargem and this led to my hard disk to malfunction.
So, I had to re-install the Leopard disk, and tried to salvage as much of the old documents, photographs, and music as I could. I lost every single photograph on the hard disk, but managed to save documents and some music.
I'm still using the same hard disk, and it has been working without a problem since I re-installed the leopard. But, I lost a few programmes - iTunes, Keynote and maybe a few others.
I downloaded the iTunes 10.6.3, but as I have explained above, I've been unable to start it yet.
My apologies for such a long message, but I felt I wouldn't do justice without giving you an explanation as to why this happened.
I would really appreciate your input, to resolve this situation.
    Thank you very much.

  • Which version of iTunes do you recommend?

I recently upgraded to 7.5 after a long time of not upgrading, but when it started working like crap and becoming staticky, I uninstalled itunes and went to 6.05. However, 6.05 is a little old for me and I'd prefer a newer version that doesn't conk out all the time from bugs. Does anyone have a recommendation? I can't remember which version I had before upgrading to 7.5 since I waited so long. It was a newer version, I think, probably in the 7's.

7.2 is the most recent version that wasn't really buggy. It also was the last version that put numbers and symbols aphabetically before "A" and didn't ignore the A word at the beginning of a band name (Now A Perfect Circle, for example, is showing up in "P").

  • Which version I should use

    Hi,
    I got this
Java 1.5.0_03 or later is required for installing Oracle Solaris Studio. Make sure that Java is properly installed and run installer again.
You can specify valid Java location using --javahome installer argument.
Can anyone tell me which JDK version I should use there?

    Moderator Action:
This post has been moved from the Oracle Linux forum.
You don't have a Linux question.
    You actually don't have a JRE/JDK question.
You have a Solaris Studio question.
You needed to spend an extra moment choosing where to post it.

  • Which version I shall use ???

    Hi All,
In the past I have created an Access Database to support our customers with automatically created long term declerations of origin. The database must be updated (sales history) manually with businesswarehouse reports. Also if a new customer was setup in our system it must be added manually to the access database.
I want to leave the company but there is nobodyelse in the office who can support the database (no ms-acces knowledge). To solve this problem and to give the office the LTOD-Creater in a version which must not be updated anylonger I want to develope an application with vb6 which will gett access to the company his SAP R/3 system, read the customer master data (addresse and sales history) and create the LTD's. The company I'm working for can't give me any SAP-Test solutions so I'm looking for a SAP-Developing area which can be installed (locally) on my private Laptop to start with developing the new LTOD-Creator.
But now the problem... there are so much free downloads here and I don't know which one I can use to develope the Application in combination with vb6.
On my private Laptop Microsoft 7 Premium (32bit) is running (of course licensed) and visual studio 6, Microsoft Office 2000 professional edition. In our company Micropsoft XP still is running but in the past there weren't any problems with applications created on my Windows Vista (64bit) or now on my Windows 7 Premium (32bit). So I think I won't get any problems in compability.
To avoid any problems with download the wrong SAP-Version, Install and re-install it I would be happy if anybody could give me a hint which SAP-NetWeaver or something else I should you prefered (and where I can find this solution).
Thanks a lot to all for your help.
    Best Regards
    Markus

You should download this one [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/80db43c2-9ee5-2d10-de8e-8547de363868] which is NetWeaver Sneak Preview 7.02 but you must install it on Windows XP, so you might get a VMWare box or use Windows 7 compatibility mode (Which is finally a Virtual PC).
    Greetings,
    Blag.

  • Which version of iTunes 9 is killing iPods?

Hi Everyone: I've been reading the horror stories about the new version of iTunes that's ruining everyone's iPod and I have the very newest version...9.0.1 that I just downloaded. When I had 9.0, it recognized my iPod but wouldn't sync it...which I've also read about. Now I'm afraid to hook up my iPod with the 9.0.1. Does anyone know which version is killing the iPods? And should I go back to an earlier version? I'm scared to death to hook my iPod up to this newest version. I'm having enough problems with getting all of my music off of my iPod onto my new computer that I don't want to kill my iPod since that's the only place I have all of my music. Thanks SO much if there is anyone out there that can help

late response...like us mac user the problem exists. There is a problem with sync between itunes and ipod(s) - (classic for me). I went thru fraustrations of re-store, re-format, re-set and a host of recommended soluctions from apple or users to get my classic running well again. No solution yet, it is a conflict with sync on the ipod, it seems that it won't handle large transfers of files, maybe one or two before it freezes itself and iTunes, too. I was ready to abandon the classic but now I'll wait for an apple fix. Classic is a good ipod, but when sync conflict occurs it shut itself down or go into deep freeze...like here in the Arctic

  • Which ID3 tag version does iTunes use?

I'm doing some tag editing and I see that I have many different tag types. Which ones are important to iTunes? Are any of them obsolete?

CDs you rip with itunes have v2.2 tags.
The industry standard is to use v2.3.
    http://www.id3.org/
As far as I know, none of them are obsolete, exactly. However, most folks expect artwork and v1 tags don't support art.

  • Which router does iTunes use?

When I play iTunes over my network with a computer in my office (which
is where my Airport Extreme is), it pretty much works flawlessly sending
the music to my Airport Express in the other room (which has speakers hooked to it). But if I use the same MacBook in the kitchen, near the Airport Express,
    the music drops out repeatedly.
So does my MacBook first connect to the Airport Extreme, and then the
signal is sent to the Airport Express? Or does the MacBook use the
    closest connection?
    Thanks,
    Paul

Possible. I would re-do the setup on the airport express using the airport utility and make sure the airport express is set to join the network and not to extend the network.

  • Latest version of Itunes - using with Win 7 Home Prem on HP Pavilion laptop

What do you think of using the latest Itunes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a *HP Pavilion 1360US (pc-based) laptop*? Does anyone know of any problems while using this or has anyone had this same problem? Any suggestions, ideas or comments? I have an IPOD 5th Gen Video 30G. I'm feeling a little scared to get this newer version. But I need to get my IPOD up and running again very soon. It's nothing but a dud at this time and I'm kind of feeling helpless!
    Hopefully someone will respond.

Is that the "HP Pavilion dv6-1360us Entertainment Notebook PC", Ba, as per the following HP document?
    [Product Specifications|http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01887282&tm ptask=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&swlang=&product=4035647&os=4063]
If so, there's no potential issues for you with Intel 5-series chipsets (or nVidia chipsets) on Windows 7 systems (given that it's just got the Core 2 Duo processor, not an i3, i5 or i7). The more recent versions of AMDS (that come with iTunes 9.1.1.11 and above) have been installing okay on 64-bit systems by comparison with the previous version 9s (AMDS install rollbacks aren't being reported much nowadays on 64-bit systems). So my main reasons for concern with 64-bit Windows 7 systems don't apply in the case of that laptop.
