Which version of Management Agent should I get?

Hi everyone,
I have a problem here. I just tried to install OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.2 following an on line tutorial
The installation failed during the Agent Configuration Assistant because I was not aware the installation needs the Management agent, which had to be downloaded separately.
My question is, which version of the Management agent should I download, knowing that after installing the Grid Control 10.2.0.2, I want to upgrade it to the 10.2.0.4 version.
Should I get directly get the 10.2.0.4 agent to install Grid Control or should I get the 10.2.0.2 version of the Management agent first and THEN update it to 10.2.0.4?
If you did not get lost in my explanations, I would gladly appreciate any help or advice :)
Thank you in advance,
Olivier

  • Which Version of Windows 7 Should I use?

I hve a fairly new Macbook Pro. Mid 2012 Version just before the new display came out. My question is, which version of Windows 7 should I use? I've noticed that I can purchase either the 32Bit or 64Bit version, but I am not sure and don't want to load something that might be bigger than I need. I'll only be using Windows to run The Sims 3. This means over 9 expansion packs+ and their EA store content.
Here is what I am running on my mac:
    Model Name:          MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro9,2
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i5
      Processor Speed:          2.5 GHz
      Number of Processors:          1
      Total Number of Cores:          2
L2 Cache (per Core):          256 KB
      L3 Cache:          3 MB
      Memory:          4 GB
      Boot ROM Version:          MBP91.00D3.B08
      SMC Version (system):          2.2f38
      Serial Number (system):          C1MHN1TNDTY3
      Hardware UUID:          8CCE66F6-C4B6-5EDB-9CE7-FFB43E25F89D
      Sudden Motion Sensor:
      State:          Enabled
As you can tell this isn't a higher end Macbook Pro, as it was a gift, but I am unable to play the game without it crashing since they do not have an updated patch for Mac users - and it is very unlikely that they will even care to update the patch. This seems to be the only guarenteed fix. I appreciate any help I can get, I just need responses soon so I can take advantage of the low prices for Windows 7 before they run out.

Microsoft will be supporting Windows 7 with full updates for another two years, so you won't have to worry about supplies running out any time soon.

  • Which model of memory upgrade should I get for my MacBook Pro early 2011 model? I now have 2 - 2GB modules.

Which model of memory upgrade should I get for my MacBook Pro early 2011 model? I now have 2 - 2GB modules.

Installing RAM in a 2011-2012 MacBook Pro
There is really only one way to install RAM into a 2011-2012 MacBook Pro and while there are hundreds of DIY videos online, I just like this one, found on YouTube, by “macmixing”.
Note that there is a difference in the RAM that should be used in 2011 and 2012 models.
    2011 models must use:
    •204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    And 2012 models must use:
    •204-pin PC3-12800 (1600 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    So here's the video:
Remember that the 13", 15" and 17" 2011 models (early or late) and the 13" and 15" mid-2012 non-Retina models can handle 4GB, 8GB or (unofficially, but, believe me, it works) 16GB of RAM. There are, in my opinion, only two 100% Mac-compatible vendors out there: Crucial and OWC. I really can't recommend any other brands, even though it may work, as these are the only brands that I've personally used in quite a while. Also remember to stay away from any RAM that is a “value” brand - Macs are picky about RAM and often these value RAM modules just don’t work very well.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Which iPod (possibly old iPod) should I get?

    Hi folks,
My wife has a Dell laptop with Win2kPro OS. Already has iTunes installed. She would like to have an iPod. But all she wants to do is play music, that's it. She'll load stuff from CD's to her PC, she won't get music via internet download or "file sharing", that's for sure. I doubt she'll ever have more than 1 gb of music loaded at a time. I figured for her basic needs, an old iPod from eBay would easily suffice. However, which one? Probably iPod Mini? I'm a big time Apple Mac computer user, but I have never had an iPod, so I'm coming here for advice. (I know, no iPod?!? am I crazy? no, I have a Treo 650 which I need for business and it more than suffices for mp3's; when it finally dies, maybe I'll get an iPhone)
    Thanks as always,

    Same Here,
I had an iPod 1GB 1st generation nano, but it lost battery power. I enjoy music, and videos would be nice, too. Should I get an iPod nano (new version)you know, with videos, or save up for an iPod touch? I currently have $150, and could anyone help?
    Thanks,

  • Finding which version of OS X should I use for my old MacBook black

I have an old MacBook (black4,1) 2.4 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo; 4GB memory.
I had to format it, so it is currently running on OS X 10.5.8. I would like to upgrade the Operating system to the latest version that fits this specific machine.
At home a new iMac running on OS X 10.9.2, so I would like to at least be able to sync the basics over iCloud.
Any clues on which version of OS X could/should I use?
    Thanks a lot.

It appears you can upgrade to Lion.

  • What version of adobe flash should i get?

I want to get adobe flash to make animations at home, but im not sure what version to get or where to get it. I don't need the best version and i dont want to spend that much. Thank

You will want to make sure you computer will be compatible with whichever version of Flash you decide to get.  The most recent versions, CS3 and CS4, will not work on older systems.  Also, if you only want to do animations, as opposed to creating code-based movies that utilize the latest coding features available, Flash 8 or earlier may be all you need, but finding where to purchase them legitimately may require some searching.

  • Which version of PC suite should I use to copy all...

I have an old Nokia 6610 which is on its last legs. There are about 130 text messages stored on the phone itself, in various subfolders within "My folders", one message in the Archive folder, and about 8 messages in the Inbox (the Inbox messages are stored on the SIM card - Vodafone Pay As You Go). I also have 14 pictures stored in a "Pics" folder in the Gallery. All my Phone book entries are stored on the SIM card. The text message memory is virtually full, and I often have to delete existing messages before new ones will arrive.
My computer is a Power Mac G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.11. For those that are interested, it's this model here:
    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/stats/powermac_g4_1.25_dp_mdd.html
On the Mac I have Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.2 which runs a copy of Windows 2000 (5.0.0.2195 Service Pack 4) under emulation.
I have a fake/third party DKU-2 cable which came with a CD which contains the installer "Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe" and the installer for PC suite 6.6.
Many months ago I ran the "Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe" installer (within the Windows 2000 Virtual Machine) and also installed the latest Windows 2000 compatible version of PC Suite that I could find at the time - 6.86 (the installer file is called Nokia_PC_Suite_rel_6_86_9_3_eng_web.exe).
The software installed successfully, and it seemed to detect the phone via the DKU-2 cable, but I wasn't able to access any of the information on the phone. This isn't really surprising, given that the phone wasn't really directly connected to Windows - it was going via a Mac USB 1.1 port, masquerading as a port on the "PC".
What I am wondering is what software do I need to use so that I can copy all the text messages from the phone (& the 14 pictures too if possible) to my computer, preferably with the sender names & folder structure intact, so that when I buy a new Nokia phone, I can copy them all to it? I've not decided on which new Nokia to buy yet. It might be the N95 8GB, the N96, or perhaps just a basic model. It will be a current model though, not a second hand one.
My first choice would be to use software that was Mac native, but I'm not sure if there is any that would do the job. My second choice would be for software that could run on the Windows 2000 Virtual Machine. If neither of these options are possible, I could borrow my Dad's 6 month old PC laptop, which runs Windows Vista Home Premium, and use that.
If anyone has any experience/thoughts on this, I'd greatly appreciate their (detailed!) input & advice. Although I've very experienced IT-wise, I have zero experience of mobile phone software.
    Many thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just to follow up from my previous post - I did indeed decide to keep the 6220 classic as my new phone.
Yesterday I installed the Nokia_Conn_Cable_Driver_150_2_eng.exe driver from the CD
that came with my third party/fake DKU-2 cable onto my Dad's Windows Vista Home Premium laptop. Knowing through 15 years bitter experience working with PCs that once a newer version of a piece of software has been installed on a PC, it can often be impossible to subsequently install an older version, even once the newer one has been successfully "removed", I decided to install the 4 versions of PC Suite at my disposal in version order, with the oldest first, and if a version didn't work, to uninstall it, and then install the next oldest one, and so on.
I started with the version that's on the CD that came with my 6610 - version 5 point something. The installation went fine, and after re-starting, I followed the instructions to connect the phone to the computer with the cable. Unfortunately a Vista error message appeared saying there was a problem with the "unrecognised" USB device. PC Suite meanwhile just got stuck in a loop trying to connect to the phone. (The phone was switched on & unlocked!). After trying unplugging & replugging the phone etc, I uninstalled PC Suite, and then tried the same thing with the next oldest version of PC Suite that I have. This is version 6.6. The exact same problem occurred. I then uninstalled that and tried a version I had downloaded many months ago - version 6.86.9.3. The same thing happened, except this time after a while PC Suite gave up trying to connect and displayed a box offering links to places like this website that might help me solve the problem. I then uninstalled that, and then installed the current version of PC Suite - 7.0.8.2. The same thing happened as with 6.86.9.3.
There are, to my mind, 2 possible explanations for all this. Either the data socket on the phone is damaged in some way, which is possible, given that the phone got wet back in February and had to be repaired, and the first repair shop i took it to managed to dislodge the charging socket (which is right next to the data socket) during their botched attempts to fix the phone (another shop fixed this), OR, as I hope is the case, the cable is the wrong one, despite it fitting perfectly.
I've noticed that in several places (the phone's manual, readme files that come with the various versions of PC Suite, etc) that the DKU-5 cable is mentioned far more often than the DKU-2, which suggests that maybe I need a DKU-5. Also, if you go to the PC Suite download page and select the 6610, the cable that's mentioned is the CA-42. Another alternative is that the DKU-2 I have just doesn't work, given that it's not a proper Nokia cable.
Does anyone have any idea which cable I actually need to use to get the PC to talk to the 6610?
Also, in case you were wondering, the reason I tried 4 different versions of PC Suite rather than just the current version is that I've read on these forums that certain newer versions of PC Suite don't have certain features that certain older versions do, depending on the phone in question. This has caused much frustration for people, judging by the comments I've read. Given that what I want to do is to copy all the text messages from the phone (& the 14 pictures too if possible) to my computer, preferably with the sender names & folder structure intact, it may be a case that an older version of PC Suite will allow me to do that, but a newer version might not. This is especially true given how old the 6610 is. Of course it may be the case that an old version of PC Suite that allows me to copy the texts & pictures to the PC won't work with my new 6220 classic. If that's the case, I hope that I can install the current version of PC Suite over the top of the old version, and then copy everything onto the new phone.
If anyone has any firm ideas about what cable (& version of PC Suite) I should be using, I'd be most grateful.
    Thanks for your attention.

  • DNG CONVERTER:Which version of Camera Raw should I choose?

What I need to uinderstand, is what are the real benefits of converting RAW files into DNG for the newest version of Camera Raw( not compatible with older versions)? ( dng CONVERTER/ PREFFERENCES)
If I convert a RAW file for use in older versions of Camera Raw, the created DNG file will also be compatible with the newer versions of Camera Raw. But if I convert the RAW file into a DNG for the latest version of Camera Raw, the DNG file will not be compatible with older versions of Camera Raw.
Therefore, can somebody explain me the reason to convert Raw files into the latest version of Camera Raw? ( Enhanced metadata? ... what?)
    THANKS

    2. DVDs are only for original Backup purpose. Not to manage my database/image bank
I personally feel it's a bad idea to use DVDs or any other optical media for long-term storage purposes. They are fine for short term storage or for transferring a small number of files between systems. LR requires that image files be kept in the same  folder and subfolder locations, which is why you should never move files or folders outside of LR. It will be very difficult to restore the raw files to the exact same folder hierarchy as the DNGs with them stored on multiple DVDs.

    3. As a cheap security and diversified tool to keep my original raw files, DVDs are ok. Having all my backup in an external HDD I dont like it that way.Preffer to have my images spread in 50 DVDs rather than only one external HDD.
I don´t like to put all the eggs on the same basket. Diverisifcation is a wise idea.
You can place the raw files on a separate external HDD so "all your eggs" aren't in one basket. Just make sure you retain the same folder and subfolder orginization as used on the primary DNG external HDD.
Are you also backing up your DNG files and LR catalog(s) to a 2nd separate backup drive? This is advisable for backup purposes if you want to be able to restore the catalog(s) and DNG files should your primary external HDD fail.

  • HT1338 Which version of Mac OS should I update to from v10.5.8?

I am trying to install applications that require the 10.6 and above and not sure if I should install that or go to 10.7 or 10.8 so need guidance.  What should I do next??

    Hello,
First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

It's been pulled from the online store & Apple Stores, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard.

  • How to now which version of Lenovo L540 am I getting from the customize options

I am planning to buy a Lenovo L540 - Core i5 - 1080 FHD screen from Lenovo Driect in Japan.I dont know if I will get the slim version which has the slim type eDP full HD display or the big version.. I found out there were 2 versions from websites.. Please someone let me know what type of LCD is there in the FHD version.. I want to switch it for an IPS panel.. if its not a slim type then it wont be possible..

Hi Jonas, Thank you for the response.I had actually bought it manufacture refurbished from a store after a lot of researching and hoping, believing that it might work... but it did not hence I have now sold it... I also have returned the IPS Panel to the online shop... however before returning I did some tests and found that when I connected the eDP port to the IPS panel and turned on the system , I could see the BIOS boot (Thinkpad logo) and the windows logo (blue square thingy with a black cross), but after that all I got is a black screen, so I left the laptop running, plugged out the eDP cable and put it into the original display just to see it come back to life with the home screen. I think this has something to do with windows or something else like TN being normally white and IPS being normally black etc, but I could not test any further. I hope this experiment of mine proves useful to someone else trying the same thing. Now I have sold everything and ordered a new Thinkpad T550 with a 15.5 3K IPS screen, Core i5-5200U, nVidia GeForce 940M, 8GB DDR3L, 1TB HDD, 24 GB SSD, backlit US layout keyboard. I certainly hope that the display will be really awesome on this one..  So thats the end of my experiments with displays.. Rama Krishna signing out. - Rama
