Which version of NI-488.2 driver should I use

I am needing to update my NI-488.2 driver to work with a Windows 7 (64 bit) operating system.  I know from the charts that it says version 2.7.3 will work with both the 32 bit and 64 bit Win 7, but the latest hardware driver version states that it works with "Windows 7".  Will the latest version work with both 32 and 64 bit or is it naturally 64 bit only?
Solved!

It will work for both.

There are several doc sets available -
For 12 the doc (Part) number for Application Concepts is B31450-01 (196 pages)
For 12+ the doc number for Application Concepts is B31450 -04 (204 pages)

  • Which jdbc driver should be used for sqlserver 2000 and where to put it.

    hi all,
My odi is 11g. I met the error infor "Could not load JDBC driver class [com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver]" when i tried to connect to a sqlserver2000 database.
    The questions are:
    1. which jdbc driver should be used for sqlserver 2000?
    2. which folder to put it in?
    3. how to set the physical topological "Microsoft Sql Server" to use this jdbc driver?
    failed tries:
i downloaded the driver "SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 2" and put it in the following folders:
    1. .../oracledi/drivers, and set this path to CLASSPATH.
    2. .../oracledi/userlib didn't exist, i created it and put the driver in.
    3. .../oracledi/agent/dirvers, in which a readme file exists and told me to put drivers in this folder.
All these works were not useful. when I start odi.sh and try to connect to sqlserver2000 database, the same error infor came up.
    my environment is:

    Hi,
You should check which JVM version is required by that version of the driver, I think the 2.x versions require a 1.6 JVM
What error are you getting? If it is the "com.sunopsis.sql.c: No suitable driver", it indicates it can't find the jar file (sqljdbc.jar) for the driver you specify.
Drivers folder in ODI 11g is under
    C:\oracle\product\11.1.1\Oracle_ODI_1\oracledi\agent\drivers.
if you are using the standolone version
    On windwos :
    C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Application Data\odi\oracledi\userlib
    on linux
    $HOME/.odi/oracledi/userlib
    Have a read of :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e16453/install.htm#CHDBIFAJ

  • Which external hard drive should I use to save my iTunes library?

    Hi,
So I have collected so much music and movies in iTunes that my internal HD is practically full.  (Library is over 500GB of 1TB and the rest is taken up with my apps and programs.)  It's time to purchase an external hard drive to transfer my library to.  Furthermore, I currently have a 2TB WD My Book for Mac that I am currently using for backup.  The My Book is also full and Time Machine is deleting the oldest backups to make room for the current ones.
Here is where I need everyones advice.  I am planning on purchasing a 3TB WD My Book for Mac.  I am planning on purchasing more movies for iTunes.  Which external hard drive should I use for what?  Option A or B
Option A:  Put my iTunes library on the 2TB external hard drive and use the 3TB for backup
Option B:  Put my iTunes library on the 3TB external hard drive and continue to use the 2TB for backup
Also please give me your reasoning.
    Thanks everyone for your responses!

    Limnos,
So, let's go one step further with this.  I read your reply to moving iTunes library to an external hard drive: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4594518?tstart=0  However, if I move the iTunes library, will this include all the movies and apps that I have purchased?
    Thanks!!!!

  • What XA JDBC driver should I use with Oracle 8i 8.1.6

I need to use an XA JDBC driver for Oracle 8i 8.1.6. I am using the driver in
a ConnectionPool in a TxDataSource for use by some entity beans using EJB 2.0.
I'm running WebLogic Server 6.0 sp2, EJB 2.0, Java 2 SDK 1.3.1 Server VM, Solaris
    2.7, and Oracle 8i 8.1.6.
I know of three different Oracle XA drivers: WebLogic jDriver for Oracle XA, Oracle
OCI type 2 driver XA, and Oracle Thin tyoe 2 XA. Are there any other drivers
that I can use for Oracle 8.1.6? Which driver and which version should I use?
For example, can I use the Oracle 8.1.7 JDBC drivers with the Oracle 8.1.6 server,
or would the Oracle 9i drivers work with the Oracle 8i server? Which drivers
are faster, and which support more features? I assume that I should not use the
type 4 driver since I am not using an applet, but I don't know if there are bugs
in the OCI C library for Solaris or in the JDBC drivers that use it that prevent
XA from woking. Which version of the Oracle C OCI library should I use if I use
    a type 2 driver?
    Thanks,
    Ross Goldberg

    Hi,
I think you can't use the 8.1.6 thin driver for XA, you would have to
use the OCI driver or 2PC-enable your datasource. AFAIK this has been
    changed for 8.1.7
    Check http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/////jta/thirdpartytx.html.

I've asked this question before. This is the reply from Joe
    Weinstein:
For reliability and JDBC 2.0 compliance, I recommend the
    Oracle thin driver.
If not that driver, you should verify that a type-2 driver
    actually does
deliver better performance, but then I would not have a
    strong preference
between their type-2 and ours. Theirs may be faster, and JDBC
    2.0 compliant.
Both are succeptible to OCI bugs, some of which only they can
    fix, but we
    listen.

You'll need to be much more specific; there are 20 or 60 different kinds of high definition. Some require nothing, some require superfast RAID, some require specialized hardware support.

  • HELP - which driver should I use?

    Hi,
We are developing an application using WebLogic 6.0 in conjunction with
TOPLink 2.5.1 for object/relational mapping (manages the persistence
layer). We would like to configure our application to use WebLogic's
connection pools and I would have a few questions regarding the driver I
              should use.
Here's a short description of our application:
Our service layer is entirely composed of container managed stateless
session beans. On the TOPLink side, the transactions are manipulated by
a UnitOfWork object, which gives the control over the distributed
transaction to an external transaction controller. Our WebLogic external
transaction controller uses the UserTransaction interface to manipulate
a transaction (begin/commit/rollback). So, within an EJB method
execution we might have several units of work begin and 'commit'
transactions, but the overall transaction is really committed only at
the method exit, by the external transaction controller.
This works, without using connection pools. The problem is, if we don't
use connection pools for every SQL executed, a new connection is created
and authenticated against the Oracle Server, which is terrible for
performance. However, when I tried to configure a WebLogic connection
pool, it doesn't work anymore (by using the non-XA OCI driver the
connections from the pool were used, but never released back to the pool
after the transaction was being committed).
              My questions are:
              1. Given that our transactions are manipulated through JETS, is it
correct to use the JTS Oracle driver, which comes with the WL6.0
              installation?
              Driver Classname: weblogic.jdbc.jts.Driver
              URL: jdbc:weblogic:jts:myOracleInstance
              2. If we should use the JTS Oracle driver, should I specify the pool
              name in the Oracle URL?
              3. What is the difference between jdbc20 and jdbc? Is the first one
              deprecated?
              Thank you,
              Brenda.

    Hi Sriram,
Thank you very much for your help.
I used the datasource configuration as you suggested and it almost
works. It is noticeable faster than before,
but the problem now is that I am getting the following exception when
loading the sixth object into the database.
I do not understand why it is the sixth object, because I created the
Oracle connection pool with a maximum of
              10 connections.

  • Which version of os x 10.5 should be installed?

is it important which version of os x 10.5   (example: 10.5.4) is installed on my old MacBook 2,1 (now i still have os x 10.4.11), or have i to installe the first version of 10.5?? and what are your opinions where to buy it (ebay for example...)??
    thanks!!!

The later the version the better but be aware, v10.4 Tiger and v10.5 Leopard are very out dated operating systems. The Safari browser may not be able to access all websites and you will not be able to use Flash for YouTube video.
I would avoid eBay. You really don't know what you are buying.

  • Which version (1.0.2 or 1.4x) to use?

If I want to develop applets to run within Netscape 4.x or IE 4.x or later, which development environment should I use? 1.0.2 or 1.4x?

Naive question here - Does this mean I can write code using 1.4 version features, compile with 1.4.x (using appropriate target switch), and the applet will run in the 4.x browsers without any fancy 1.4 plugin? Sounds too good to be true....What's the catch?

Your have 4 driver options :
    1) 2 from a client install

    b) jdbc oci with a client install
    2) 2 from inside the JVM including the ose component.
    a) server sdie internal(kprb) -- for inside the rdbms usage ONLY
    b) server side thin driver.

  • I have new hard drive, should I use migration assistant before I install Snow Leopard or install Snow Leopard first?

I just had a new hard drive installed after a hard drive failure.  I need to install Snow Leopard, Lion and VMware Fusion.  Should I use migration assistant to reinstall my old files and applications first or should I install the new Operating Systems first?  Some of the old files do have corrupt data and I will have to pick and choose what back-up files I re-install.

How was that done? Drag & drop?  An app like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper?
Initially files were backed up on the iMac with Time Machine.  I purchased a My Book external hard drive and after doing a full back up on it, I began doing all of my incremental back ups on it using Time Machine.  Sometime later, I purchased a Western Digital external hard drive that included back up software on it  called "WD Back-up" so I could use it to store all of my Music and Audiobooks on to keep my iMac and My Book free of those file types.  The WD Backup software allowed me to pick and choose what files I wanted to back-up.  I don't think I had been backing up Music and Audiobooks on the Mac anyway or maybe I was, I don't remember if I can selectively pick and choose files with Time Machine - I have not checked as I have not yet plugged it into my new hard drive.  Once The My Book drive became full with regular back ups, around June or so I had to switch over to the WD Back up drive.  I recall that I was very concerned that I could not do a full back up on the WD drive because if I did, I would have to reformat the drive and I did not want to do that, so I think I was able to selectively back up some additional files from my iMac but again, I do not know for sure since I have not looked at what is on the drive.  I do know that if I was able to back up additional files I had to do it with WD Back up and not Time Machine, if that matters.
I know that the files in the partitioned drive and files associated with VMware Fusion are damaged.  If I do a full restore, it will restore the VMware Fusion app and partioned drive
    We need some clarification:
Do you mean there were 2 partitions on your internal HD? If so, how was the second one formatted?  Was it backed-up?
No, there was only one partitioned drive.  The way I understand it is the VMware Fusion software does the partitioning and the app resides on the Mac.  After that was done, I then installed the Windows software on the partitioned drive.  There is a critical file on the Mac under a Folder called Virtual Machines and in the Virtual Machines folder, the "Windows Bundle" or some such thing keeps locking each time the software crashes due to the problem files somewhere within the files in the VMware Fusion software that (I think resides) in the Windows environment that I cannot access.  The Virtual Machine file on the Mac gets backed up so the Windows Bundles files get backed up and that includes all the screen shots (essentially backups) of the Windows environment.  The Windows environment includes some of the apps and their data in Windows such as Quicken.  Theoretically, the partitioned drive does not get backed up but in reality if the screen shots do, some of the partitioned drive does - corrupt or not. If you have a Quicken file open and a drop down screen in Quicken frozen when the system crashes, that is what gets backed up and there is no way you can get back into Windows or Quicken.
If I do a full restore, it will restore the VMware Fusion app
If you restore an OSX volume, yes, that will restore all apps, but that's not necessarily bad.  If necessary or desired, you can always delete or reinstall a suspect app.  That way, all your other apps will be ok.  For most users, reinstalling all apps is a considerable project.  See Transferring  Applications for an explanation.
Well, that is true.  To reinstall VMware Fusion, Windows and Quicken would much, much easier than all of the Mac software I have.  Plus, the VMware Fusion version I have is not compatible with Lion and my goal is to install Lion, so I will have to upgrade VMware Fusion no matter what.  Further, I'm so aggravated with the dual operating system, I've been looking at products to replace Quicken, so if anyone knows of a good home, small business and home rental financial product they can recommend, I'm all ears!
If I do a full restore, it will restore . . . and partioned drive
If there are 2 partitons, a full restore only restores the OSX partition.  If a non-OSX partition was backed-up, it must be restored separately.
Now that I've said I only have 1 partitioned drive, does that mean it will restore the partitioned drive?  I would prefer it did not.  It seems now that it would be much cleaner to restore the OSX drive.  Would I be able to do that?
So, depending on the exact circumstances, your best be may be to restore the most recent OSX partition, then restore/copy those files that were backed-up on another drive; reinstall VMware if necessary; restore the other partition.
So  . . . things may be a bit more complex than we though, but perhaps less dire.
More detail on the various partitions and backups should clarify things.

  • Which Ethernet wiring standard, 568A or 568B should I use with Linksys wireless routers?

I am in the process of installing some RJ45 Keystone jacks for hard wiring wireless extenders, RE1000. Which Ethernet wiring standard should I use 568A or  568B?

Typically 568A is Canada and 568B is USA.
It doesn't matter which one you use because they are the same wiring scheme. The only difference is green and orange pairs are swapped.
What is critical is that both sides of the cable be wired the same. You can't have 568A on one side and 568B on the other.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Which version Diagnotics Agent to install for ERP6 systems using SM 7.1 ?

    Hi,
I have a recently installed Solution Manager 7.1 system and would now like to add our managed systems for monitoring.
Our managed systems are all running NW EHP2 / ERP6 EHP5 and I have installed the latest SAPHostagent 7.2 on each of these systems. These systems are non unicode running on Suse Linux Enterprise 10.
I'm confused as to which version Diagnostic Agent to install for this setup. Under Solution Manager 7.1 in SWDC the managing agents are for a 7.3 installation only and the prerequisites require Suse Linux Enterprise 11. I'm not sure whether I can use agents located under older Solution Manager systems.
With the above information in mind can you help ?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Nelis
