Which version of SQL*Plus can connect to Oracle 8i Database?

Which version of SQL*Plus can connect to Oracle 8i Database?
I would like to know which version of SQL*Plus can connect to Oracle 8i Database?
Where can I download it?
(I have tried SQL*Plus version 11 and the program said it does not support the connection to Oracle 8i Database)
Thank you very much!

By the way, what's your 8i database release version
SQL> select * from v$version;
Any SQL*Plus of 8i can connect to 8i Database.
Only SQL*Plus of 9.0.1 can connect to 8.1.7 and 8.1.6 Database
Only SQL*Plus of 10.1.0/10.2.0 can connect to 8.1.7 Database
Absolutely NO SQL*Plus of 11g can connect 8i databases

  • Which version of crystal reports can link to Windev 14 and SQL server 2008 applications

I am developing an application with windev 14 and sql server 2008, i would like to know which version of crystal report can i use?

    Hi GS,
    Move to .NET SDK forum.
I don't know how CR for Visual Studio will integrate into WinDev but to get the installer for VS 2010/2012/2013 go to this page:
SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio: Updates & Runtime Downloads
It's the runtime for CR 2011 or 2013 now.
As for SQL 2008 you need to install the Client tools and when creating reports use the SQLNCLI10.dll as the client DB driver for ODBC or OLE DB.

    Hello,
I had some problem (mixed OS environment). I solved it by ordering Linux version from Oracle. Oracle send me Linux CD Pack (All software for Linux) with free license for SQL-client only. It means that I have no licenses for products (eg. Oracle8i EE, Oracle8i SE, WebDB, ...). Anyway, I have access to my DB-server from my Linux box and I do not need to pay extra money for licensing because we have enough user licenses for our server.

  • How to find GUI SQL*Plus command tool in Oracle 8i (version 8.1.7)

I had installed Oracel 8i Enterprise Edition (version 8.1.7) on my server machine (Windows NT 4.0), I'd like to use Oracle Navigator (GUI SQL*PLUS command tool), but I can not find it from the menu. I know Oracle Navigator is available in Oracle 7. Can anyone tell me where and how to use GUI SQL*PLUS command tool in Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition (version 8.1.7) ?
    thanks a lot.

    Hi
Oracle Navigator is part of Personal Oracle7 and Oracle Lite. I don't know is it available in 8i Personal Edition but I am sure that it is not part of Standard and Enterprise Edition.

Which version of sql server 2012 or 2014 is best for sharepoint 2013.. Any excellent comparision available please let me know..i mean enterprise version BI version or standard version.. i just need a detailed comparison if available please thank you

As of right this very second, SQL Server 2014 is not supported. SharePoint 2013 supports:
    One of the following:
The 64-bit edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
The 64-bit edition of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
Hardware and software requirements for SharePoint 2013
Edit: I may be mistaken. It looks like the April 2014 CU adds support for SQL Server 2014. If this is the case generally going with the latest SQL Edition provides you with the latest SQL functionality. I'm not aware of any SharePoint features that would
make use of functionality that is new to SQL Server 2014 but this could change with a future service pack.

  • Feasiblity study - weblogic 10.3 can connect to Oracle 8i

Can weblogic 10.3 application server connect to Oracle 8i database.
As weblogic 10.3 can be installed with jdk 1.6 only. So can this be used to deploy applications which connect to Oracle 8i database.

Most probably WLS 10.3 may not support Oracle 8.x any more. This could be the reason. It may work, I am not sure. But it is not supported as per this link:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/jdbc_drivers/oracle.html#wp1066391
May be for your Oracle, you can use Oracle Drivers. But Weblogic Wrapper Oracle Drivers seems to be not supporting oracle 8.x any more.

    Pl suggest me urgently.
    thanks & regards

First of all: using the word 'urgently' is inappropriate and rude in a forum of volunteers.
Edit your post and apologize publicly for using it.
Secondly your question is a rhetorical one, as it's answer is:
    OF COURSE NOT
    8.0.6
    was succeeded by
    8.1.5
    8.1.6
    8.1.7
    9.0.1
    9.2.0
    10.1.0

  • Problem connecting with Oracle 9i Database

    Hi Gurus,
I'm having problems with connecting to Oracle 9i Database.
I have a newly installed XML Publisher running on Windows XP SP3.
I can't get my data source connected to other server running Oracle Database 9i.
It keep on saying "Could not establish connection"
Im using jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:port:sid format , username/password are correct.
What seems to be the problem?
    Hoping for your help.
    Thanks

    Hi Steve,
Let me clarify. I had an Oracle XML Publisher installed in my laptop (Windows XP SP3). I want to configure my XML Publisher to connect to a server
where Oracle Database is installed (Oracle 9i DB). I can connect to this database using SQL Plus, SQL Developer. My problem is that after configuring the JDBC connection in XML Publisher, i still can't connect to the said oracle db. The info are correct SID, Hostname etc. and still can't connect.
    Hope this clarifies the situation.
    Thanks

  • Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12C database ?

    Hi experts,
Currently in our environment we are having Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bit DB which is replicated via oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2. As per the application team requirement we need to migrate this database to 12C.
Can any one help me on the below queries
Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12c database ?
Are there any syntax changes in oracle goldengate versions which needs to be taken care in extract or replicat parameter files ?
    Thanks,
    Mushraff Shaik

    Hi,
    >>Does the oracle golden gate version 11.1.1.1.2 support oracle 12c database ?
Why do you think it will not support 12c database ?
From a Golden Gate perspective you need to create schema and use that.  As you are moving to 12c database, ideally you should think of upgrading Golden Gate 11.1 to 12c so you can use new feature such as Multi Threaded replicate etc..

  • Installing JDBC driver to connect to Oracle 8i Database from Weblogic 10.3

I want to connect to Oracle 8i database from weblogic 10.3 application server. I found a classes12. zip file on Oracle.com to use as driver for the same.
I am also connecting Oracle 9i database from the app server. Now if i replace the classes12. jar from the lib folder won't it disallow me to connect to the Oracle 9i database.
2ndly the claases12.zip file i found from the site is for jdk 1.2 will it create any problems. Please let me know
Kindly let me know what is the standard procedure to install a new driver in Weblogic 10.3.

I tried to install weblogic 10.3 using jdk 1.5.07 but. it is not supported. Moreover from the sites also i found that it's only the application wars and ears compiled in jdk 1.5 need not be recompiled in 1.6. But no reference of jdk 1.5 is there.
I tried to use thin client from the code and connect to Oracle 7i
    i got the following exception.

You don't need a DSN if you use Oracle's JDBC driver.
You didn't read ANY of the previous replies. What makes you think this one willk help? Or any instruction, for that matter?
Sounds like you just want someone to give it to you. OK, I'll bite, but you have to figure out the rest:

    import java.util.*;

    Hi,
Ou Requirement is we want to connect to Oracle Applications using discoverer plus and discoverer viewer.
    Application Server used : 10.1.2.0.2
    Oracle Applications : R12 RUP4
We have installed application server 10g with OID and when we try to connect to oracle applications we are getting
    A connection error has occurred.
    - Failed to connect to database - Unable to connect to Oracle Applications database: invalid username/password.
    Regards
    Ketan

    Hi,
I think better to check with your sysadmin or DBA on this, I had the same isuse before but Apps 11i with Discoverer, I talked to ERP sysadmin and worked fine.
Since applications userid cannot talk with Discoverer schema (eul10_us) and it should directly talk with APPS user and then APPS user can talk with Discoverer user.
To the best of my knowledge I provided.
