Which version of the Raw plug-in in CS1?

An archaic question I know. I use CS1 on my laptop (I know, I know, I need to upgrade), and I'm wondering which version of the Camera Raw plug-in I'm using with it. I don't see anywhere where it shows the version.
I'm asking because I need to know how far back I need to go with versions when I convert in Adobe Raw Converter (so I can open my Panasonice raw files in my ancient program).
It's either Camera Raw 2.4, 4.1, or 4.6. (I'm guessing it's 2.4 which makes the converted files HUGE, 56MB from an 18MB raw file, geez.)

You are welcome...I gotta tell ya that compared to ACR 2.4, ACR 7 in Photoshop CS6 is head and tails over the poor, crude thing known as ACR 2.4. I mean it was cool at the time, but since 2003/2004 a lot has changed and advanced in Camera Raw. It's pretty remarkable how much progess we've seen in raw processing!

How to tell which version of camera raw I have? The only Google search I found answering this question refers to is 2 years old and seems to no longer apply. There is no File, Edit etc. menu on the new version of Camera Raw with (Photoshop/Bridge CS6). I do use Adobe Application Manager to do my updates telling me if a new version exists or not, nevertheless I would like to know.

The F key works as described for me in CS6-ACR7.4 with ACR as the window with focus. The same function is available using the double-arrow-window icon at the right of the Preview checkbox near the top right of the preview area.
When in full-screen mode there is no title bar, but when I press the F key or click the double-arrow, again, ACR becomes smaller and I can see the title bar that includes the ACR version and camera model. This is on Windows7-64-bit on a 1600x1050 monitor. Perhaps you’re ACR’s title bar is off the top of the screen so you can’t see it, or maybe ACR optimizes some things if you have a smallish display—do you?
A plug-in is a program that interfaces with another program but is not independently runnable application, itself, bit is independently updatable, so in this instance, Photoshop doesn’t need to be downloaded and installed every time Adobe adds support for a few more cameras.

Simple version of the raw dialog vs. non-simple

In the FAQ page there is this question: "When I open my Nikon NEF files, all I see is the simple version of the raw dialog."
Since I don't know what a 'simple version" versus a non-simple, or elaborate or whatever it is you would call it, I would appreciate it if the raw dialog can be defined, as to what it is supposed to be. This way I know if I have the same problem or not. (or in other words, what information does a simple version show, or what info is missing in the simple version)?
If important I have the latest version of camera raw 7.4 running on Photoshop CS6

What I was referring to is at the bottom of the page and the exact question and answer is:
Q: When I open my Nikon NEF files, all I see is the simple version of the raw dialog.
A: You are running Nikon's plug-in, not Adobe's. Delete from Photoshop's plug-in folder and all subfolders all copies of the "Nikon NEF plugin". Nikon automatically installs this plug-in in up to two places inside Photoshop's plug-in folder, and both must be deleted. Otherwise it overrides the Adobe plug-in. An alternative to the deletion is adding ~ in front of the Nikon plug-ins names.
Does this help any? So is this Q&A old and not something I should worry about?

Look in the Camera Raw 4.6 ReadMe to see that the Sony A350 is supported.

Lightroom does not use the ACR Plugin. The best way to think about Lightroom is that it is "ACR" with lots of other functions/modules, Library, Web, Print, Publish etc. all in one Stand Alone Software package.
It does not require any other Adobe software to be installed on your computer for it to be fully functional.
It is not a substitute for Photoshop Cs / Elements but more of an alternative to ACR/Bridge that provides many of the functions of Lightroom but through PS CS..
That said you need to be running Lightroom 4.2 which is the equivalent of ACR 7.2. LR and ACR are updated simultaniously or within a few days of each other.

When I delete duplicates how do I know which version is the original song and which is the duplicate?

I have recently transfered all my music to a new computer and duplicates have appeared in my itunes. I have chosen to 'show exact duplicates' so that it is easier for me to delete, but I can't work out which version of the song I need to delete. (When I click to delete on the top version a box appears stating 'move to recycle bin', but when I click on the second version the box which appears just says 'delete file from itunes.')
Also - does any one know where these duplicates have emerged from?!?
I hope I have given enough info. I would be super grateful if someone could shed some light on this!

Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

Can't open the Raw plug in

I have a Nikon D40x, a Mac G5 and Elements 4.0.1. I have just downloaded the Raw plug in 4.3 and Elements is saying it doesn't recognise this type of file. Please help as I can't open any of my shots in camera RAW or NEF only JPEG!

You don't "open" the Camera Raw plug-in. You install it in the exact location specified on the ACR download page. Those are VERY detailed instructions there, follow them to the letter.

I bought a E71 from Expansys via Amazon UK back in October, and it has the product code 0568325. But which version of the E71 is this? I ask because I thought I had the unbranded generic UK version of the handset, which is what I wanted, but I may have a varient made for the Carphone Warehouse. I've been trying to upgrade to the latest firmware but NSU stays resolutely stuck on version 110. Is there a list of the various product codes anywhere?

I have just purchased the new Canon 7D II. I am using CS6 and Lightroom 5.0, neither of which can open the RAW files although I see from the list of supported cameras that the 7D II is covered. I have updated both CS6 and LR so that is not the problem.

It has been indicated that both of those cameras will be supported in the final release of Camera Raw 8.7. But there is no announced release date. There never is. I assume it will be before December 31. But that is only my guess based on the fact that the release candidate expires then.

follwed the instructions but dont get pictures in Bridge - just NE icons and CS5 wont open/recognize them still.

I would like of course, to be reading the most relevant and up to date materials, but I am not sure which version of these documents the exam is based on.
Could someone please advise, before I begin studying these?
