  • Radio feature for Samsung Smart TV App

Hello, I would like to be able to start a radio station from the Samsung Smart TV application.

I signed up for Spotify Premium for two reasons.
    1. Mobile Radio Feature
    2. No commercials
I have happily used the radio feature on my computer and on my phone, but have found that it's not available on my Samsung TV app.  I'm sure that there are contractual and technical reasons for this, but can anyone at Spotify tell me if attempts are being made to make the radio feature available on the Samsung TV app?
I work from home and use this app often, so listening to the same play lists over and over get's tedious. I can make and playlists with my iTunes account with no commercials for free which is making it very difficult for me to justify continuing to pay for Spotify Premium.

  • AIR Development for Samsung Smart TV

Hi, i was starting to explore the development of AIR application for the use on Samsung Internet@TV, i searched the site and found some useful info, but couldn't find some info that i was needing and basically.
    1) Is the devolopment of Air apps for Samsung already going or does it have to still be released?
    2) Using Flash CS5 or Flash Builder, do you develop a generic App for AIR 2 or is there a specific method to create them?
    2) How do you port an Air app on a Samsung tv for testing ( if this is already possibile)?

I was finally able to get my app on a Samsung TV using Flash Builder as my development tool. Here's some more info on this subject. You actually have to overlay the Air 2.6 SDK - not the 2.5 SDK.
Also make sure when you finally package the TV app to change the application XML to point to 2.5,. During development you can leave it as 2.6.
    @see http://learn.adobe.com/wiki/display/airquestions/AIR+for+TV
What tools do developers use to create AIR 2.5.1 apps for TVs?
Developers can use the following tools:
    AIR 2.6 SDK
Flash Professional CS5 Extension for AIR 2.5 (now an integral feature in Flash Professional CS5.5)
    Flash Builder 4.5
Note: Developers can use the AIR 2.6 SDK for developing apps for AIR 2.5.1 for TV. In Flash Professional, set the publish settings to Adobe AIR 2.5. In Flash Builder, set the AIR namespace to 2.5 in the app descriptor file:
    <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.5">.
If you are using Flash Builder 4.5, you must do the following:
    Download the Flex 4.1.0.16076 SDK.
    Download the AIR 2.6 SDK.
Copy each file from the AIR 2.6 SDK into the corresponding directory within the Flex 4.1 SDK, replacing the Flex original variants.
To use this SDK within Flash Builder, select your project in the Flash Builder package explorer.
Choose Project > Properties to open the project's Properties dialog box.
Select Flex Compiler in the list and then click the "Configure Flex SDKs" link to open the Preferences dialog box.
Click the Add button, browse to the SDK, and then click OK until you get back to the project's Properties dialog box.
Click the "Use a specific SDK" option and then pick Flex 4.1 from the drop-down menu.
You must also replace the default WindowedApplication element with Application in your project's MXML file.

  • Linking my BTVision box to new Samsung Smart TV

I bought a Samsung Smart TV 6000 series yesterday and have put the areial into the tv for tuning to take advantage of the Freeview HD. I have connected the BTVision box to the tv via HDMI - how do I record programs from the TV ??

Just to expand a bit. You will have to connect an aerial directly to the BT Vision box to get any reception and view channels. You cannot record the HD channels from your TV to the BT Vision box. You will have to be an Infinity internet subscriber and sign up to the extra channels to be able to receive and record the HD channels to the BT Vision box. It does not have a HD Tuner built into it, so you cannot get the channels over your aerial, only over the internet. Hope that helps.

  • HT204089 I have a samsung smart TV and record free to air TV shows on my TVO I would like to purchase from iTunes a TV series called outlander but do not know how to transfer and save the episodes on my TIVO I will be using my iPad to purchase and downloa

I Have a  samsung smart TV  and use TVO to record  free to air programmes .
i would like to purchase from iTunes using my iPad , a TV series called outlander but do not know how to transfer and save the episodes to my TIVO
    please help

Many videos in the iTunes store are protected so that they can only be viewed on Apple Devices signed into your iTunes account.  If that is the case then your TiVo will not be able to read the files.  If you know how to get a video file onto your TiVo from a flash drive, then just plug a flash drive into your Mac and drag one of the videos from inside the iTunes window onto the icon for the flash drive on your Desktop or in the left sidebar of a Finder window.  That will copy the actual file onto the flash drive.

    Hi Kingofmacs,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your MacBook Pro and TV both have HDMI ports, you can use an HDMI cable to connect the two.

  • Samsung Smart Panel for ML-2240

I have a Samsung ML-2240 laser printer that works great but the Smart Panel software seems really lame. I downloaded the latest version from the Samsung web page and the installer does its thing and puts up Smart Panel icon on the menu bar. That's all.... just an icon that does not have a pull down list of option and it does NOTHING. I gave up and used the installer option to uninstall. That works.
I send Samsung a message asking if there is an Smart Panel issue with Mac OS X 10.6 and they
    have not responded.
Anyone using the Samsung Smart Panel under OS X 10.6?

Please do not laugh at the Samsung response to my note that their
installer fails to install a working Smart Panel

  • Mac Mini with a Samsung smart TV problem

Hello Everybody. This is my first time in here !
I hope someone would be able to share ideas or views about my issue.
I have a Mac Mini I used to plug into a Panasonic TV, using a a Mini Display to HDMI cable. Since the Mini Display port does not carry audio, I used a mini jack stereo to RCA cable from the Mac's speaker socket to the TV's audio. Everything worked pretty OK.
I just bought a new Samsung smart TV and planned to do the same thing. However, I was horrified to discover that the audio won't carry. From a little bit of research I have made, it turns out that the TV disables the audio once it realizes the DVI does not carry any, and therefore no sound is heard even though the RCA's connected.
One way to go around it was to rename the HDMI source to DVI - PC, but it doesn't work 100% of the time (for some reason) and did not work in my case.
So far, the Samsung guys I've spoked to you haven't been very helpful and offered that I use the TV's optical sound IN (which the TV doesn't have), and even then they did not know if it worked 100%.
I've found out that Mini Display + Stereo to HDMI adapter exists, but it's very expensive here (over 50 pounds, almost $100) and I'd like to find alternatives - The TV's speakers are pretty good and I'd like to avoid buying speakers, if I could work it out with simple cable work.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I ma having the same issue, I have one of the original Mini Mac and was connect to my Panasonic TV and everything worked fine.
I have bought a Samsung after been told by the shop it was the best and compatable only to find I like the person above cannot get any sound.
    All ideas welcome.
    Thanks in advance

  • Connecting iTunes to Samsung smart TV using airport express.

Does anyone have any experience of connecting airport express to a Samsung smart TV to use as powered speakers?  I have connected using a standard convertor cable from 3.5mm jack to dual connections but this is not showing up on the TV 'Source'.  Samsung support have not been very helpful but I dont think I'm trying to do anything ground-breaking?!  This worked perfectly well on the previous TV.
If this is a no-go - has anyone managed to stream iTunes onto the TV using the wireless network?
Any help/hints/warnings would be greatly appreciated.

My TV has RCA-type analog inputs but for some reason they do not recognise the input from the Airport Express.  The music is streaming ok because if I connect headphones to the port on the airport I can get music playing.
I'm loathe to buy Apple TV to do what the Airport Express should do for me - however, I might end up down that route.  Can I play all content from my iMac - even music which was loaded from CDs onto the machine rather than purchased through iTunes.  I really dont want to have to pay £25 a year to mirror content I've already purchased in iCloud so that I can play it in my own house.
    Thanks for the advice.

  • How do you connect wirelessly to a Samsung smart tv?

how do you connect wirelessly to a Samsung smart tv?

If your're running 10.5.8 your MacBook is likely earlier than a 2009 model so you'd need a Mini-DVI adapter unless it's a model 5,1. We need to know which model you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.
Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI, Composite or HDMI.
You'll need a Mini-DVI adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini-DVI adapters on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13
You'll also need audio cables to the TV for VGA, DVI or Composite. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_19?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=macboo k+audio+cable&sprefix=macbook+audio+cable&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amacbook+audio+cable
If you connect the MacBook using a MiniDVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a stereo system for audio. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
P.S. Composite is the red, white and yellow RCA plugs on your TV or red, white and S-Video plugs.

  • Issue detecting Samsung smart tv as display

Hi I have a new samsung smart TV (UA32H550ASXRD0), which I hoped to use as a display for my macbook pro (mid-2010, yosemite) and my mini once I have it setup.
However, the TV won't detect my mac and visa versa .
I have just tried connecting the macbook to another sony tv and it works fine, so its not the cable or video adapter.
I know there was a discussion I saw on resetting the SMC, but if it works on the Sony surely this isn't the issue either.
    Any ideas please?
    Many thanks
    *M

Good news, I managed to resolve this with a new cable/adapter. I previously had a moshi mini displayport to hdmi adapter and a certified HDMI cable which I replaced with a single cable comprising both (like this: http://www.jaycar.com.au/p/WQ7442). As I mentioned, the moshi had worked fine for both my macbook pro and mini on Sony tv and monitor, just not the samsung smart tv.
For reference, this was the note from the samsung support team -
    1. Use an HDMI cable with a thickness of 14 mm or less. Using a non-certified HDMI cable may result in a blank screen or a connection error.
Some HDMI cables and devices may not be compatible with the TV due to different HDMI specifications.
    2. This TV does not support HDMI Ethernet Channel. Ethernet is a LAN (Local Area Network) built on coaxial cables standardised by the IEEE.
    3. Some computers do not support HDMI interface, depending on its graphics adapter specifications. In this case, use a DVI-to-HDMI cable to connect the computer to the TV.
    4. Try to adjust the resolution of your Mac to 1920 x 1080, which is the maximum resolution of this TV model.
    5. Select the connected Mac using the Source button on your TV remote.
    Good luck
