Which wifi dongle for 46TL938?

Hi,
I'm having trouble figuring out which wifi dongle is compatible with my 46TL938. Some sources say the WLM-20U2 should work, but others list it as incompatible.
Can anyone give me a definitive answer about which wifi dongle I should buy for my tv?

Trying to get accurate information from an electronics store is asking for trouble, I'm pretty sure you understand that ;) I'd like to be sure that what I buy works for my tv.
Like I said, I just want to know which one I should buy.
I think it's the WLM-20U2, but as I said, I am not sure due to conflicting information on the net, and poor information supplied by Toshiba.

  • Wifi dongle for ipad

I have a wifi only iPad, and am currently staying somewhere with no wifi, i'm wondering if there is any type of hotspot/dongle I can buy which will allow me to get my iPad onto wifi?

Google mifi. It's a cellular device that you use as a wifi hotspot for your iPad. see the article below to get more info.

Or if you have a iPhone you can use it for a wifi hotspot.

  • Apple TV or Sony Wifi Dongle for Sony Bravia TV??

    Hi,
I have just recently bought a Sony Bravia 40" TV.  To access the internet capabilities i need a Sony Wifi Dongle.
I already have a Macbook Pro and 2 iPhones that are used within the house on the wireless network.  Was wondering if i should get the Sony Wifi Dongle or skip that and get Apple TV which is about the same price??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Andrew

I have a similar set up.  However, before getting my ATV3, I had gotten a
ZyXEL 300 Mbps Wireless N Access Point, Ethernet Client, Universal Repeater, and Range Extender (WAP3205) to use as a wireless Ethernet bridge to my TV.  It's about 1/2 the price of the ATV, but it is only a bridge--no subscription service, etc.
Having said that, the ATV is amazing!  The only shortcoming is that it doesn't offer Hulu Plus service at this time.  The upside is that you will be able to access services through your iPhone and mirror them to your TV through your ATV--and you can get app on your iPhone.  (Lastly, you WILL eventually succumb and get the ATV.)
    Hope that helps your decision.
(BTW, I did not hook the ZyXEL directly to my Sony Bravia, but to my Sony Blu-ray player.)

  • Which WiFi card for: PowerMac G5 Tower, 1.8 Ghz DP, running OS 10.5.8?

Sorry, I couldn't find an answer to this on the forum and the PDFs ref where the card WOULD fit didn't resemble the inside of the Mac I have
It's an ex-work machine that I'd like to make Wifi for a non-techie friend (already have DLink router for existing PC etc) Which wireless card do I need and which is better? I've been told about USB dongles, Airport Extreme and PCI antenna cards. All very confusing. Basically it needs to be reliable for the non-techie owner , so am not keen to get a cheapo card that will need lots of setting up. Plug 'n' play would be good.
I think the Mac is 2004 vintage and is definitely G5, 1.8 Ghz Dual Processor. Any help asap would be appreciated as I've got to get a card and install it all by the weekend.
    Many thanks,
    Andy

Hi Andrew, Not sure which card, but it may be easier or even cheaper with some of these alternatives...

  • Which c650d is my psc16u-03g010? Which wifi driver for this laptop?

    Which c650d is my psc16u-03g010?
After installing windows 7 enterprise 64bit or 32bit the wifi doesn't work. Which driver should I download and install to solve this problem? This is occuring on all 5 of these laptops.

Usually people having trouble with the BigFoot LSP interfering with iTunes have been getting past it by updating their BigFoot drivers. Have you tried that yet? if not, head to the downloads page for your model of Alienware at Dell and check for updates there.

  • Mac Mini PPC and Usb wifi dongle?

So I have a ppc mac mini and I purchased a wifi dongle for it. (not the Belkin one)
I have drivers for it that appear to be correct, everything installs fine.
However when I go to network to configure the device there is no option to choose usb as a network interface. The only options are firewire, or internal modem.
I'm sure this has been addressed but I've searched and search.

Sorry wow been a long time since I was here, but things have progressed ... somewhat.
Turns out there were specific drivers that I was not in possession of. The manufacturer supplied them and I thought all was good.
Turns out I'm having another problem now that it took some time to figure out ...
The dongle works for a time, but seems to get booted from my router or something after going to sleep or rebooting.
The weird thing is that the dongle software itself and the mac os think its connected, it shows an IP address that isn't on my network.
If I reboot the router and then reset my IP on the mac mini it will work until it goes to sleep or reboots.
I updated my Linksys WRT54G to DDWRT to see if that would fix things but even with new firmware and reset settings only this mac is affected by this problem. Also the dongle doesn't do it on any other computer.
So its mac mini/dongle/router specific ...
thanks again for all the suggestions and help

  • Drivers are not working for new BT wifi dongle

I just got BT infinity installed today. I also got the dual band AC wifi dongle 900 But it will not register on my PC. I tried installing the drivers for it but i noticed they are only for the 600 model. I know the Home hub 5 just came out along with the new dongle so is it just a case of waiting for drivers to be realesed?

    Hi lightlamp,
I'm sorry about that, check out this link for the AC dongle drivers and let me know if you need any further help.

  • I want to buy iPad mini wifi  + cellular for indian freind. Which Carrier should i select while buying it online?

I want to buy iPad mini wifi + cellular for indian freind. Which Carrier should i select while buying it online?
As far as i know service provider is not a constraint for i pad as ipads are always unlocked. Also, do we need to get nano sim from US or India srvice provider will have it? i am asking this as in Singapore iPads are offering 3 free nano sim cards.

There is no CDMA in Europe or UK if that influences you, only GSM
All the UK Carriers offer Data nano sims ,on contract or PAYG
and this will help on 4G

  • BT ac Wifi Dongle 900 starts service which uses hi...

I've just installed a brand new PC, with a fresh copy of Win7 Pro.
After installing the software off the BT page for the ac wifi dongle and plugging it in it operates correctly and I can connect to the internet, but upon plugging in the dongle a service called 'CppWindowsService' is started whih eats 50% CPU permanently even after a reboot!
Unplugging the dongle causes the service to stop, and plugging it back in again causes it to start up again.
I am absolutely sure this service is part of the dongle driver software. What can be done about this?
    Thanks for your time.

erm, sorry but that seems like a workaround, not a solution. Has BT said what this service is or fixed it in a driver update?
Also, surely everyone who uses this dongle isnt wasting 50% CPU unless they manually delete a service?
As this is only a customer to customer forum, I am not aware of any action by BT at the moment. There only seems to be a few people reporting this issue. I assume that you have the latest drivers installed?

  • COMPATIBLE USB WiFi ADAPTER/DONGLES FOR HP 470 MOBILE PRINTERS???

I've misplaced the HP USB WIFI dongle/adapter (HP Q6274A)  to my H470 mobile printer and was wondering if another (Non HP) usb wifi adapter/dongle will work...until I find my original HP Q6274A dongle?  Incidentally, I happened to notice Non-HP WiFi USB adapter/dongles are every where, they are very inexpensive and also offer the latest WiFi technology enhancements, ie: b/g/n & 300 Mbp/s, etc.  I'm hopeful HP customer support will offer a few suggestions regarding other compatible H470 WiFi dongles... however, I doubt they'll suggest anything other than their hard to find/obsolete HP Q6274A ... any thoughts would be greatly appreciated =)

    Hi xxwildbilxx,
Are you still experiencing issues?  The adaptors may or may not work.  If you have a spare, it is certainly worth a try, however I cannot guarantee compatibility. The specific adaptor for this model is readily available through online ordering systems.  You can also contact HP technical support to compare best pricing options for these adaptors.  Global contact information can be accessed Here.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I use a USB WiFi dongle with a MacBook?

I recently acquired a USB wifi dongle and downloaded the appropriate driver. When plugged into my MacBook it will connect to my Graphite Airport base station. I can even use Airport Admin Utility to change setting in the Graphite ABS with this USB dongle.
The driver software also included a 'client utility' which I use to get the dongle to function with the MacBook. It also required adding the dongle to the list of network [ports via the Network Preferences in OS X.
But I do not know how to use it to access the internet through the ABS. My ABS has a 56kbps dialup modem in it which I use with the MacBook's internal WiFi card as my way of accessing the internet normally. I would like to know how to use this new USB wifi dongle to do the same thing though.
    TIA

If you noticed on my jpg of my settings the very top left window shows that the MacBook thinks the dongle is indeed connected to the internet. In actuality the dongle is only connected to the Graphite ABS.
My thinking is that the Graphite ABS (Apples first ABS) is simply set up to listen to Apple's own Airport card when it comes to the ABS' internal 56k modem. Maybe someone can tell me from experience that a Graphite will listen to a USB wifi dongle?
A bit of my personal philosophy... Apple stuff generally 'just works'. It does not require a lot of windoze-like 'jumping thru hoops' to make it work. So when it does not 'just work' I tend to think that it is because it can't.
Didn't try turning off the firewall, but if it requires that I would not want to use it anyway.
Yes, the ABS does distribute IPs, or at least something does because they are different from one time to the next.
Access Control is on, but again, I require that so it would have to work that way for me or it would have no value to me.
Again I will say, I certainly appreciate your help BDAqua. But I am starting to think we may be trying to do something that cannot be done unless you know otherwise?
Again, I would like to ask, is there is anyone using a Graphite ABS with any USB wifi card/dongle?

  • HT1695 can i get broadband dongle for ipad

hello just had loads of problems while in goa with my ipad thought idea of the ipad was for compact use and travel i took  with me so i could check emails etc but struggled to find wifi can you get a pay as you go  dongle for it has i am going to greece soon many thanks

If you didn't buy the 3G version of the iPad you can get a Mi-fi device, which creates a local WiFi network from a 3G connection.
For travelling purposes, you'll need an unlocked Mi-fi device and a local 3G SIM in whichever countries you visit.

  • Does anyone know how to switch off the internal wifi test use a wifi dongle at a usb input?

    HI
I am having problems connecting to wifi with a new Mac.
I have tried all kinds of things like shifting and monitoring my router's channel.
Short of using a power cube or crawling under the house and running a cable I have decided perhaps to use a Netgear wifi dongle.
I would like to switch off the internal wifi and allow the external device to connect.
With a new machine I really don't see why I have to do this.
Incidentally all my old devices have no problems with the wifi signal.
    Cheers
    Jack

    Thanks for the suggestions.
Yes I have done all that was suggested on that site.
i have also been in contact with Apple Care.
I have also reset the router firmware.
I downloaded a piece of software called inSSIDer and checked out other wifi channels in the area. I moved my preferred channel to another ones that looked better however that is back on auto now and the router seems to be picking up channel 6 which is the best one and scores the most points.
I use a netgear wifi dongle on my 'smart' tv and was thinking of using that however I am beginning to thisk that 'powerline' products may be the answer.
The Mac is only two weeks old and I seem to be messing about with the wifi connection most of the time.
I actually cleaned the whole disk and reinstalled the operating system earlier this week.
    Desperate or what!
Sometimes I think I should just return it but I like to solve problems and will keep going for a while before I lose patience.
    Jack

  • Experience with USB Wifi dongle?

Anyone have any experience setting up USB Wifi dongles? I need to get one, and I'm not sure which one to use. I've seen the pages that list compatible models, but every one that I Google comes up with forums posts about something going horribly wrong with them. What do you use, or know that others use?

Is the new module for Netgear WN111v2 among others.
Any one has had any luck making this Driver?
    The home for driver
    http://wireless.kernel.org/en/developer … esting.git
    The firmware
    http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/carl9170
I really don't know how to use git......
    So any help Appreciated.
I built this driver yesterday, and it works great!! I have the NetGear WN111v2 as well, and suddenly realized how incrediblt slow my connections were.
So I tried building it, and (for me at least) the carl9170 driver rocks.
What I did: Download the compat-wireless tarball from here: http://wireless.kernel.org/download/com … eless-2.6/ and choose the newest one.
Untar it somewhere, like ~/build/ or something. Then, from a terminal, cd to the directory you untar'ed, and type
    ./scripts/driver-select carl9170
    as a normal user.
    Then
    make
    and
    sudo make install
should install it just fine remember to have kernel26-headers and linux-api-headers installed first!
Now you only need to get the firmware from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/ … l9170-1.fw and put it in /lib/firmware/
And to be on the safe side, add !arusb_lnx and !ar9170usb to your MODULES() in rc.conf, so the drivers don't conflict. Good luck!
EDIT: I found some time after all you can find my PKGBUILD here: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=44100
