Which Wireless card for P2800?

Hi,
I would like to add a Wireless card to my P2800, Win 2000 home edition.
I have decided to go through Netgear PC Card Wireless 32 bits CardBus Dual Band WAG511 - 108 Mb/sec.
What do you think? Will I have any problem with that on my pc?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi
If you have adequate driver for W2000 I dont see any problem why this wireless card should no work properly.

  • Which Wireless Card for Mac Pro 2.93ghz (4.1)

    Hi,
I would like to add a wireless card to my Mac Pro 2.93ghz (4.1)(early 2009) but im a little unsure of which card is compatible, after searching on the net for info I have these model numbers - Airport Extreme MB988Z/A or MB988ZM/A.
    Many thanks,
    Antz

I have an Early '08 Mac Pro running an 8800GT in Slot 1 and a 2600XT in Slot 2.
I got my 2600 for $50 USD and have found it to work very quietly and without fuss. It's 3D performance is a little lacking but I didn't buy it for that.
It installed straight into Slot 2 and requires no additional power cable. I've also the above setup running four 23" Apple Cinema Displays without breaking a sweat.
As for your 7300 predicament, for all intensive purposes, this card does not have an the correct internal ROM required to boot an Early '08 Mac Pro. Whilst I've not tested it, I've no reason to doubt well-informed comments from other members:

  • Good wireless cards for older Mac Pros

I have a Mac Pro Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz at work that we are trying to get online wirelessly. A couple of months ago, we bought a Hawking Hi-Gain Wireless-N USB Adaptor, which was working fine until a recent update was performed. Since then, the computer crashes almost immediately if the wireless adaptor is plugged in, but runs fine when it is taken out. I am curious if anyone else has run into a similar problem when using a wireless adaptor. I also wanted to know if anyone had a recommendation for a different, reliable wireless card for an older Mac Pro.
    Thanks in advance.

I have almost the exact same situation.
Same system, a d-link wua 1340 usb wireless adaptor.
Worked fine for several weeks or so until i updated to snow leopard.
Now frequent system crashes, grey screen and the box that tells me to use the power button to shut down.
I tried going back to 10.5 and still the same problem.

  • Which Wireless Card? Lenovo A26

Hi I am trying to buy a wireless card for my lenovo thinkcentre desktop  MT-M 9120-A26  which product should I buy?

Quality USB WiFi adapter should be ok and is most handy. Like D-Link etc. You could also use PCIe WiFi card, but then it will be inbuilt in computer and depending on placement of PC can be good or not so good solution ...

  • Which WiFi card for: PowerMac G5 Tower, 1.8 Ghz DP, running OS 10.5.8?

Sorry, I couldn't find an answer to this on the forum and the PDFs ref where the card WOULD fit didn't resemble the inside of the Mac I have
It's an ex-work machine that I'd like to make Wifi for a non-techie friend (already have DLink router for existing PC etc) Which wireless card do I need and which is better? I've been told about USB dongles, Airport Extreme and PCI antenna cards. All very confusing. Basically it needs to be reliable for the non-techie owner , so am not keen to get a cheapo card that will need lots of setting up. Plug 'n' play would be good.
I think the Mac is 2004 vintage and is definitely G5, 1.8 Ghz Dual Processor. Any help asap would be appreciated as I've got to get a card and install it all by the weekend.
    Many thanks,
    Andy

Hi Andrew, Not sure which card, but it may be easier or even cheaper with some of these alternatives...

I havent tried the first one, but the other 3 work better than any Airport card I have.

  • G580 models which wireless card in which model?

I understand price points mean less features/more features.
What I don't understand is the lack of details regarding which wireless card is in which model.
I do know entry level G580 is basic 1x1 N card.
Which cards are in which models please?
    Jim

The recovery discs can not be downloaded from the web. Therefore you would need to go to ASP, so that they could order it for you.
I'm not sure, but I think the wifi module is under the keyboard, but don't ask me how you can get there. All I know is, that you will have to remove some screws from the bottom of your notebook in order to clips out the keyboard.
Anyway, there is software around that can identify devices in your machine, like Everest.
But are you sure you have Wlan equipped in your notebook? As far as I know a wifi module was not built in.

  • Lenovo V560-43422GU laptop - which wireless card and is there HDMI output

    Regarding Lenovo V560-43422GU laptop:
    (1) Is there an HDMI output?  Lenovo sales rep says YES, but Bestbuy.com specs say NO.
    (2) Which wireless card is included?  Lenovo gave me a list of possibilities, but said the card is actually specific to each dealer/store.  Please tell me which one of the following cards will be in the laptop if I buy it from Bestbuy.com.
    Intel 6250
    Intel 5150
    Intel 6200
    Intel 1000
    Broadcom 4313
    AR 9285

Very good questions with no precise answers online.
I see you already posted on the Lenovo forums and they do not have an answer for you right away I love how the tech says he will contact you in a FEW days... and it is their product. I had a smiliar situation with them and it took 3 days lol.
Again, I see you did your searching well... not a lot of information seems available.I guess physically seeing the computer can verifiy this.
Looking at image #4 on the Best Buy site shows there is an HDMI port, but it is covered.... and that concerns me especially when the SPECS say it does not have an HDMI port. I really do not see why it would not have an HDMI port available, even the lower lines of Lenovo z565 and b560 have them available.... it is almost becoming a standard now days for HDMI.

I will be at a Best Buy on Thursday.
If you do not get a reply back by then I will be there and physically check the machine for the HDMI and interally for the Wi-Fi card that is in there...
But hopefully you get a more informational reply before then =)
I will check back in on Thursday.
Let me know if you have any questions before then.
    Good Luck to you.

  • Where can I find a wireless card for my early 2009 Mac Pro (MB871LL/A, MacPro4,1)?

Where on on earth can I purchase a wireless card for my Mac Pro?
Apple is of no help.  Their "Geniuses" told me that it is impossible for them sell one to me because Apple will not supply wireless cards or memory for previous generation computers.  That is totally absurd.  If I want to get a wireless card for my 2 year young computer I can't? I have to buy a brand new computer with one previously installed. Ridiculous!
Any help or suggestions would be of great value to me.

Well I found what I think is the correct card on B&H.
    Hopefully it works....

  • Elementary question: need wireless card for old Dell

Hi, all: I need to buy a wireless card for my several-years-old Dell Precision 340 desktop, so that I can network it with my MacBook Pro and printer using AirPort Express. Can buy any old USB network adapter card branded "universal"? Any recommendations? There is no built-in wireless card. Also, I understand that I will have to reconfigure the AirPort somehow to handle both PC and Mac (I spent a long time on the phone with Support getting to work in the first place, just with the Mac notebook).
    Thanks for any advice!

Hello jonnofor. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Can buy any old USB network adapter card branded "universal"? Any recommendations? There is no built-in wireless card.
Just about any 802.11b/g wireless device will work with the AirPort Express Base Station (AX). The AX is capable of up to WPA2 wireless encryption, so if this is important to you, you would want a device that is WPA or WPA2 capable as well. In addition to USB-style, the Precision 340 can also take PCI-cards. For example, Linksys offers both a USB & PCI types.
Also, I understand that I will have to reconfigure the AirPort somehow to handle both PC and Mac
There shouldn't be any required configuration changes necessary for the AX just to support both Macs and PCs. Most issues that come into play relate to using WEP for wireless encryption. You can eliminate this by using WPA or WPA2 instead.

We need the system P/N to find out what the Service Manual says if it comes with or without a dual band wifi.

  • Wireless card for desktop

Do I need to purchase and install a wirless card for my pc inorder to get the airport express to connect?

If you are trying to get wireless connectivity to a wireless router, like the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), then yes, you will need a 802.11g wireless card for your PC.

  • Which Graphics Card for a 40 inch HDTV LCD or Plasma Monitor for the best

Which Graphics Card for a 40 inch HDTV LCD or Plasma Monitor for the best value and price?
Hi, I was wondering if I replace my current standard graphics card for a MacPro Early 2008 for a graphics card for a 40" HDTV, which was is the best for the price and value? My current card when used with such a large monitor/ TV isn't very good, I think? So thinking of updating...

This sounds like a price match question. Without knowing all the details, it sounds like a yes for the Westinghouse, but I would encourage you to read the price match policy link here:

If all you care about is 1080p definition and an HDMI input at a $300 price point then this tv should suit your needs. (As a bonus it has 120Hz refresh for smoother action scenes.)http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Westinghouse+-+40%26%2334%3B+Class+-+LCD+-+1080p+-+120Hz+-+HDTV/5772998....

  • Which wireless adaptor for my macpro?

Hey everyone. Can someone please advise me on the best wireless card (usb/pci) to use for my macpro, details of which are -
    Quad 2.0 gig
    10.4.10v1.1
    3gigs ram
Can't think of any other info you would need really. Another thing, and perhaps this might be asking much but would there be a wireless card/adaptor thingy that works both on my Mac OS and when switch over to Windows which is regularly?
Thanks for your help chaps and chapettes.
    Dev.

I'm in the same boat...kicking myself for not getting the wireless option built-in when I ordered mine last year. Anyway, what do you mean by long range? I have a two story hours and my router (Airport Extreme) is on the 2nd floor left-hand side with my MP plugged into it today. Tomorrow, I will relocate my MP to the 1st floor right-hand side of my house. If I had to guess, I would estimate 20 - 25 meters in a straight line through walls and a ceiling. I currently have a TiVo downstairs with access but this might be a bit further. What do you think my options are? I’m just wondering if I should carry my MP to the nearest Apple Store and have them install the wireless option. I guess I could get another AirPort Extreme and put it next to my MP?

  • Changing Wireless card for a GE60

Hi guys, New here and i need your help I have an MSI GE60 laptop and im a big fan of it, my issue is that the Wireless card an Intel Centrino 135 is Pitiful to say the least for my needs (i work with 5ghz alot) so i need to upgrade the card my friend recommended an Intel Centrino 2605 it seem good and offers great speed. but i soon as i swap the card and install the drivers im hit by some sort of software lock which don't let me use it (apparently Intel don;t like you swapping out the cards" so my question is there a way i can get this working because i would hate to lose this laptop due to a small issue like this :( a program i can run, some code i could run anything would be a great help!

MSI does not 'whitelist' anything as far as we are aware. This is included in our FAQ section.
Are you 100% certain that the card is good? Have you tried it in another laptop to ensure it works there?
Yep my friend has a HP Business laptop with the same card and he swapped it and got great speeds from it ive just done a full restore of my laptop and it still seems like its wont work ive ran out of ideas. i tried his wireless card from his Laptop and it was the same error it looks like its installed and ready to rock but theres some sort of barrier stopping it :/
