You'll need to re-establish the connection to your wireless network.

Can anyone tell me which Mini-PCI card would be compatible with a Satellite 1130-Z31 notebook? The system should use IEEE 802.11b.
    With thanks

    Hello
For your unit there is Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11b) with PA3212U-1MPC part number compatible.
In the future if you need some information check http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com . Under Products > Options & Accessories you can find all you need.

  • Does Apple make a wireless pci card for the G5?

I have a new Airport Extreme base station, but my PowerMac G5 still has the old airport pci card. Does Apple make an "n" pci card that I can use to swap out my old wireless card?

No. Apple does not have an 802.11n solution for your PowerMac G5.

  • Wireless mini PCI card for Satellite P10

    Hi all,
can anyone help me find a wireless mini pci card for my Satellite P10-304 in the UK?

    Hi
I found several WLAn minPCI Wlan cards which could be compatible with the Satellite P10 notebook.
Wireless LAN card PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802.11b)
    PA3273U-2MPC (Atheros 802.11ab)
    PA3300U-1MPC (Atheros 802.11g)
    PA3298U-1MPC (Atheros 802.11a/g)
Please take a look on the WLan 802.11 standards!
If you WLan router support an 802.11 standard I would recommend taking the PA3273U-2MPC or PA3212U-4MPC

Okay... first off let me know which operating system are you using and model and version no. of the adapter?? if you are using Win XP system try uninstalling the adapter from the computer...click on start >> programs >> wireless G PCI adapter >> uninstall, put the CD in for the adapter and restart the computer, one window pops up "found new hardware" try installing the drivers, no need to install WLAN software or utility and use windows WZC (wireless zero configuration) to manage wireless connection...check whether it works for you or not and let me know.

  • MSI pc54g2 wireless pci card - unable to install drivers

I have just purchased a wireless pci card (MSI PC54G2) and the Billion 7402VGP and am now trying to install the two. My problem (so far) is with the pci card ...
I have followed the manufacturers install instructions but continue to get the following message each time the drivers try to install
"There was a problem installing this hardware
    Network Installer
An error occurred during the installation of this divice
    The data is not valid"
I've since searched the net for answers (no luck); gone to the MSI site and downloaded the latest software (still no luck); searched various forums and removed and reinstalled the card several times (again no luck).
The closest(?) I've come to anything is that some pci cards require pci slots with v2.2 not v2.1. The MSI details for this card does not say anything about this, however I'm running a P4 Intel D850MV board which from what I can find is V2.2.
Does anyone have any ideas that may help?
    many thanks in anticipation

    Hi:
In order for me to provide the drivers you need except for the two I posted for you, you will need to click on each device needing drivers and post the hardware ID for them.
If you do not know where to find the hardware ID, please use the guide at the link below.

  • Wireless internet card for powerbook 1400

Can anyone recommend a wireless PC card for the Powerbook 1400? (I know...an anchient machine but I want to throw it in the kitchen for looking up recipes and other light futy stuff.) I think it needs to be a PCMCIA card or something like that. Thanks.

    Richard,
You can run an 802.11b 11Mbps PC card on the 1400 with the correct wireless drivers and this is dependent on which version OS you have installed on the 1400. The card you want is the WaveLAN or Orinoco wireless PC card. And if your 1400 were running OS 9.1, you could use Apple's AirPort 1.2 software.
Here is a more extensive guide to your wireless setup:

  • Linksys wmp11_v4 wireless pci card finally working

It's a common cheap wireless  pci card. I just got it working today so thought i would post it here in case anyone searches for wmp11.
Heres how i got it to work.
The _v4 pci cards use an inproconn chipset. I have it working perfectly with ndiswrapper and this driver ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/wmp11_v4_dr.zip
you have to ./configure && make && make install ndiswrapper from source!!! Then load all 3 inf files with 'ndiswrapper -i file.inf'
I added 'wlan0="dhcp"' to rc.conf and added ndiswrapper to the modules. instead of restarting, as root 'modprobe ndiswrapper'
lastly do 'ifconfig wlan0 up', after that either use the gtk wifi-radar or kwifimanager or read some man pages...
I'm stealing my neighbors wireless right now using this card..

The error you're getting means the card is having a hard time properly connecting to the signal of your router. This maybe a cause of interference or a distance problem. Since everything was working before, it's possible that a new interference in your environment is causing the problem or there's something wrong either with the router or the card.
Have you picked up other SSIDs on the card also showing a decent signal strength and using the same channel as yours? You may also upgrade the firmware of your router or update the driver of the card though.

  • Satellite Pro 2100: wireless PCI card

Installing a Broadcom wireless PCI card and need to know where the aerial leads are routed (screen or base) so that I can try and extend them one is short by 1cm - oh and do the colours black and white correspond with main and aux?

Thanks for the wiring designation. Yes, I see that Tosh keep things close to their chest re disassembly of their machines however, if any techs or repair engineers out there pass by these boards then just tell me whether I should be looking in the lid or the base. Taking the lappy apart will be a doddle and I have no warranty period to worry about but don't want to start in the wrong section. Cheers.

  • KT6 Ultra FISR wireless pci card problem

    Hello,
I hope that someone can help me. I have been trying to get my new Zonet 802.11g wireless PCI card installed on my KT6 Ultra FISR. I bought two of the cards and it installed happily on my MSI KT4 Ultra running XP. When I put the other card into the KT6 it starts the New hardware wizard on XP but cannot install the drivers from the CD supplied.
I thought that maybe it was the card so I swapped them over to see if this could be the issue, but it installed on the KT4 but still an issue on the KT6!?? :(
I then decided to buy a new Hard disk and do a new boot so installed XP pro fresh, and I still have the same problem! I think that it can only be a hardware issue with the board. Can't be a problem with the OS.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Peter

Have done that, couldnt get it to boot at all for some time ???, now it will boot but does not show my Soundblaster Live!
What can I do to change this? Why would it not boot at all with the PCI slots either empty or in a different order?
Would love to get the sound working with the wireless..........
Can I make changes to the IRQ in the bios?
No issues with the power as I unplugged all of the hard disks and PCI etc prior to rule that out.
Thank you all for your time
    Regards,
    Pete

    Hi,
Based on the following specs, the machine has plenty of options:
       http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13278_na/13278_na.PDF
You can buy 1-port card, 2-port card, 3-port card or even 4-port card such as:
        http://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/USB-3.0/Cards/2-Port-PCI-Express-SuperSpeed-USB-3-Card-Adapte...
You need to check the slot to get the right bracket for the card.
    Regards.
ps eBay is a different story, you can buy few dollars card.

  • Can't get wireless PCI card to work

I bought a Sonnet wireless PCI card but we can't get it to work yet. Before I return it I wanted to check to make sure all the software was right.
The AirPort utility is v4.2. The extensions are:
    Airport 3.4.7
    Airport2 4.0
    AirportFW 3.4.7
    AirportFWAP 3.4.7
The system can see the card in the PCI slot (it didn't before upgrading the utility to 4.2, but the card doesn't detect any networks (and there are usually 3-4).
    I'm running 10.3.9 on a G4 MDD 2003.
    Thanks
    Tom

Yes, it does have an external antenna.

  • Re: Dual Band PCI Card for Satellite C660

Hello, please can someone suggest any dual band PCI card for Satellite C660
    thanks

    >Dose it mean this forum if not supported by Toshiba?
Buddy, its a user to user community
    Regarding the miniPCI WLan card:
Such part upgrade is not officially supported and therefore details about compatible cards are not available.
But from my knowledge many different notebook series have been equipped with different WLan card from Realtek, Intel and Atheros.
Probably such cards would be compatible even if they are not listed officially as supported part.

  • PCI Card for a new SSD. Good Idea?

Just upgragraded my 2009 MP (processor 3.33, video card, Ram). Just got a new 256 Samsung SSD wich is going below the optical drive. Did a search here about PCIe card for the drive and found that there's good and bad about it. Found this model model (Velocity solo x2). Is there one specific brand more suitable? or just make it simple and install the ssd below the optical drive.
    Thanks

The 2008 only has two 16x PCIe slots and the Sonnet Tempo Pro should be in the #2.
Even gpu's do not do as well as later models in performance, and some PCIe cards only supported booting in a 2009 or later.
Installing Mac OS to Sonnet Tempo I am sure you have read of the issues and how to get around it, is even on Sonnettech.com
Even though it 'tests' as xyz MB/sec in the real world the system is fine on SATA2 and in non-RAID setups. The 0.1ns seeks and latency and higher IO for reads. Someone did some thorough tests of different SSDs, different PCIe cards and the synthetic benchmarks. And concluded there was no real difference to the system and work load whether the system was on SATA2, but could be work performance using PCIE for other uses.
Generally I find this to be helpful start: www.macperformanceguide.com on perfomance
Putting scratch and graphic libraries for Aperture/Lightroom and others on a SSD and on a separarte bus helped. Even helps having iPhoto on SSD and the photo library folder on another drive - so you aren't read and write to same.
SoftRAID 4 - using 3 drives in a mirror but it uses "stripped reads" seems like it is fast, simple, less overhead and most people just never get idea of using more than two drives in a mirror, but it works great and makes it easy to pull one for backup. SoftRAID also does a better threaded background rebuild, and during idle time scans its drives for errors and bad or weak sectors. A lifesaver.
Even using the optical bay for the system might be perfect and then using the Tempo Pro for other uses.
With system's and SSD's and stripped, then of course a couple restore images and run DU against the array with TRIM enabled on a weekly basis, something, especially if the array is getting hammered as scratch. Tests though show those SSDs can take huge TBs of punishment day after day, but I have seen my own and read of too many errors.
