Whiet Space in FCC

Hi
In my output file after FCC , for a particular record i am getting white spaces before certain fields, which are not coming as part of the data.
What could be creating the white spaces?
regards
krishna

Hi Krishna !
First of all, are you sure that those spaces are not coming as part of the source data? take in account that messages in sxmb_moni, using that screen interface renders xml data trimming spaces..you should export that xml message file from sxmb_moni to your local workstation and check the real content with a text editor.
When you say that you are getting white spaces before certain fields..are you using a field delimiter or fields are delimited by length? what is the current output and what should be the expected one? could you give me an example?...one or two lines will do it.
Thanks,
Regards,
Matias.

  • How to handle preceding space characters in file to file(FCC on both sides)

    Hi All,
    We have scenario with file to file (FCC on both sides).
    Issue is: Sender side we are converting source file (CSV) into XML. But while converting it is ignoring preceding spaces.
    Example:
    Suppose Source file(CSV) contains one record as mentioned below ( for ur understanding purpose I mentioned 'X' instead of space. )
    XXXXXXXXXX12345     78945  23548    23446
    The above record is getting converted into XML as
    <text>12345     78945  23548    23446</text>
    But we need the record to be converted into XML as mentioned below
    <text>XXXXXXXXXX12345     78945  23548    23446</text>
    i.e we need spaces before "12345" also.
    As both sender and receiver having same structure, we are not using any mapping also.
    Please suggest in this regard.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nagaraju

    Hi,
    In your sender content conversion use the parameter:
    NameA.fieldContentFormatting     nothing

    Record.fieldSeparator      '0x32'
    Record.fieldNames           a,b,c,d
    Record.endSeparator       'nl'
    Record.additionalLastFields  ignore

  • Receiver FCC parameter to preserve spaces

    Hi Gurus,
    Our scenario is using Outbound (IDoc to Fixed Field Length Flat File) and we are using File Content Conversion
    However upon testing, the spaces are not being preserved in the flat file.  We tried to map fields with Constant number of spaces (e.g. 5 char field mapped with Constant having value 5 spaces) but it is not working, space is still not preserved in the flat file generated.
    For those that have encountered this scenario, what did you do with this issue?   As i've said the scenario is fixed field length flat file so the field lengths still have to be in the flat file even if the field has no value
    Hoping for your kind response

    Hi,
    It may happen that the spaces are coming and u cannot see in the editor.
    Goto SXMB_MONI of PI system and check the payload after mapping(Target Payload).
    Right click on the payload and open it... then see if spaces are coming in the payload or not

  • Disk space used much larger than actual files

    I noticed this morning that Terminal was giving a warning about running out of swap space, which I thought was odd, as /var/vm was only at around ~10GB, but later when I tried to install some updates, I noticed that it said I only had 1.8MB free on my hard drive. I ran a df -h and it showed %iused at 100%. I immediately deleted some logs to free up a few megabytes of space and started hunting for what could have been hogging all my disk space, I seem to remember having 60GB free last time I checked. I was deleting a few small files, when I noticed this
    bash-4.2# du -h -d 1
    6.2M          ./.DocumentRevisions-V100
    584K          ./.fseventsd
    583M          ./.Spotlight-V100
      0B          ./.Trashes
    31G          ./Applications
    2.1M          ./bin
    20K          ./cache
    3.8G          ./data
    5.0K          ./dev
    34M          ./Developer
    1.3M          ./EFI
    1.0K          ./home
    8.9G          ./Library
    1.0K          ./net
      0B          ./Network
    185M          ./opt
    12G          ./private
    1.5M          ./sbin
      0B          ./Shared Items
    4.1G          ./System
    52G          ./Users
    4.9G          ./usr
    4.0K          ./Volumes
    117G
    So apparently, according to du, I am only using 117GB of my hard drive. I immediately ran this
    bash-4.2# df -h
    Filesystem      Size   Used  Avail Capacity  iused   ifree %iused  Mounted on
    /dev/disk1     297Gi  283Gi   14Gi    96% 74220526 3630455   95%   /
    devfs          200Ki  200Ki    0Bi   100%      692       0  100%   /dev
    map -hosts       0Bi    0Bi    0Bi   100%        0       0  100%   /net
    map auto_home    0Bi    0Bi    0Bi   100%        0       0  100%   /home
    So my question is how is it that all of my files combined are using 117GB, including swap, but according to df, Disk Utility and Finder I am using 283GB? I am using FileVault 2, if that helps

    The 300GB partition is the partition I am booting off of, and the one I was writing about. Disk0s1 is the EFI partition, 210MB. The other Internal hard drive is the core storage physical volume, already mounted, mounted in the image. Recovery HD is the 650MB system recovery partition.
    I rebooted to the recovery partition and used Disk Utility to verify the volume, it said everything checked out alright.
    In disk utility, the top entry has this data
         Name :     Internal Hard Drive     Capacity :     319.21 GB (319,213,174,784 Bytes)
         Type :     Logical Volume Group     Available :     16.8 MB (16,777,216 Bytes)
         Disk Status :     Online     Used :     319.2 GB (319,196,397,568 Bytes)
    However the other entry, right below it has this
         Mount Point :     /     Capacity :     318.88 GB (318,877,626,368 Bytes)
         Format :     Encrypted Logical Partition     Available :     202.18 GB (202,175,160,320 Bytes)
         Owners Enabled :     Yes     Used :     116.7 GB (116,702,466,048 Bytes)
         Number of Folders :     241,519     Number of Files :     1,246,454
    So I guess the reboot fixed my problem, df -h now shows 37% used, but the logical vomume group still shows only 16MB free. Anyways, things seem to be working now.

    Emp_Header.keyFieldValue and also the value 1
    Even a single whitespace can cause an issue

  • Sender File Adapter FCC Question

    Hello folks!!
    I am trying to configure a FCC for Sender file adapter and wanted to consider a Line feed Carriage return line which will look as below to be a empty tag in XML. After Line 4 there will be a blank line which identifies the start of next record.  I tried using Field.MissingLastFields , Field.endSeparator  etc.,  Perhaps I am not using the correct value. Any help appreciated.
    Line1
    Line2
    Line3
    Line4
    Line1
    The expected XML is as below:
    <Record>Line1</Record>
    <Record>Line2</Record>
    <Record>Line3</Record>
    <Record>Line4</Record>
    <Record></Record>
    <Record>Line1</Record>

    Hi Greg
    Thanks for your feedback. I tried and it didn't work. below is the FCC i have in sender adapter
    RecordSetName      =   RecordSet
    RecordSetStructure =    Dummy,*
    Dummy.fieldNames   =  Record
    Dummy.endSeparator = 'nl'
    Dummy.missingLastfields  = add
    Dummy.ignoreRecordsetName = true
    Dummy.fieldSeparator = 'nl'   and also I tried with Dummy.fieldFixedLengths = 255  .
    Still I don't get the empty tag for the blank line in the file, so my output is still same . Please note the blank line doesn't have a space so if I place the cursor and move to next in blank line it will go to next line ( Carriage return and line feed).
    Please suggest .

  • Unable to configure file adapter using FCC  for Multilevel hierarchy

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone help me in configuring the Receiver file adapter with FCC for the structure given below
    <Root>
    <Level1>
         <Ele1>
         <Ele2>
         <Level2>
                <Ele2_1>
                <Ele2_2>
                <Level2a>
                        <Ele2a_1>
                        <Ele2a_2>
                </Level2a>
         </Level2>
    </Level1>

    Hi dineshmale,
    I have do this Multilevel hierarchy before. FCC can directly configure this scenario. But I don't know you output format. What my format shown below(here i use '#' instead of space):
    Level1_Field1##Level1_Field2##Level1_Field3##Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #######################################Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    Level1_Field1##Level1_Field2##Level1_Field3##Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #######################################Level2_Field1##Level2_Field2##Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    #################################################################Level3_Field1##Level1_Field2
    FCC Parameter:
    Recordset Structure: Level1,Level2,Level3
    Level1.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level2.beginSeparator = (some spaces according to the length of the fields in Level1)
    Level2.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level3.beginSeparator = (some spaces according to the length of the fields in Level1and Level2)
    Level3.fieldSeparator = (2 spaces)
    Level3.endSeparator = \n
    There are some points:
    1. the endSeparator for Level1 and Level2 doesn't work.
    2. the first begin separator in Level2 and Level3 doesn't work.
    3. The last field of super node and the first field of child node is separated by the (child).fieldSeparator.
    4. ....
    What's more, I have write a blog of FCC For Hierarchical Structure in Receiver Channel just now. So it need two days for Approval. Let me know for any issues.

    Thanks

    I see the payload contains recordset where in my DT,MT I didnt mentioned any recordset in my strcuture:
    How can I get rid of <Recordset> tag in payload???
    If not seen already have a read of this help section:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/EN/44/6713ec3f914ddee10000000a1553f7/content.htm
    From the above section:
    u25CB       ignoreRecordsetName
    A <Recordset> element is inserted in the XML structure for each recordset structure. This level is not always required, particularly
    if the recordset only contains one structure definition.
    If you set the parameter to true, the <Recordset> element is not inserted.

  • Tab Delimited File Using Receiver FCC

    Hi Experts,
    I need to generate a Tab Delimited File Using Receiver FCC. I have achieved the same by copying the tab length from a notepad and used the same in name.fieldSeparator parameter.
    The other below mentioned values for name.fieldSeparator didnu2019t produce the expected result:
    name.fieldSeparator=u2019htu2019
    name.fieldSeparator=u2019\tu2019
    name.fieldSeparator=u2019 0x09u2019
    So just need to know if my approach for achieving this is fine or not.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Aditya.

    Verma,
    name.fieldSeparator=u2019 0x09u2019
    I see a space after the first comma. Try removing it and give a try.
    '0x09' with no spaces.

  • FCC:Receiver File Adapter

    Hi
    This is regarding  a FCC in receiver File Adapter
    My requirement is as follows :
    I have the following source structure
    DT_Source
    Structure
    Field 1
    Field 2
    Field 3
    The target file to be created will contain all the 3 fields mapped directly from the source.
    but in additional to these 3 fields it will also contain 3 constants ..which aren't coming from the source.
    Do I need to include that in the Target data type and map them as constant values in the mapping or can the addition of constant values be taken care of in the File Content conversion ?
    thanks
    Dev

    Thanks Shabarish
    So you mean once i get a sample file , according to the blank spaces in the resultant i should have a corresponding field in my  target Message type and map it toa constant white spaces ??
    ok  I have one last  question
    Can the FIle(on the receiver side ) be a mix of values which are fixed as well as variable lenghs ??
    i.e
    a typical line item in the file will be like this
    Field1,Field2,Constant1,       ,Constant2,Field3,      ,Constant3,Field4,Constant4
    where Field1 and Field3 are fixed length fields with the constants and field 4 and field5 are of variable lengths ????
    thanks

    Header.keyFieldValue----
    05
    Header.endSeparator----

    Header.fieldSeparator----
    Similar to Items also
    Query: is this error related to source file (unexpected format) or Sender File CC configuration.
    Regards,
    FHM

    Hi HK,
    I see that there are two keyfield names in your content conversion. Are they for different nodes?
    " Keyfiled names: NumFacture,Constant "
    Yes...those are coming from two different nodes like one from Header and another one from Items.
    And also the you have provided key field value as 05 and what about the other key field?
    Another key field value have given 43
    one more thing Key filed value must be always constant right?
    Thanks,
