I have never used anything which charges through USB before, and tbh, would not have bought the zen micro had I known it didnt come with an adaptor (i'm very suspicious of the whole charging through USB thing)
So I guess I want some reassurance. plec: The USB standard allows for a 500mA current (small) to be supplied to any device using a USB port. The Micro or any player that charges via USB will only use that amount to charge as well as sharing with the data connection. You can dedicate all that 500mA to charging the player if you use the latest ..0 or 2.20.05 firmware, then slide the power button to lock the player before connecting to the PC.
Don't panic, it's not going to overload your PC as the current drain is USB standard and small.

Well ... the charger is the original charger and just checked and confirmed it is a 5.1V charger. How come? Next is why when i connect my iPad via original usb cable, no response from macbook pro? used to sync with iTunes now totally dead.

Because the port you're using just isn't putting out enough juice. The Power Adapter which came with your iPad puts out 2A of charging current, while the most powerful USB port on any computer is going to be putting out 500mA at most (and many brands, especially PC laptops, put out considierably less).
That's why your User's Guide recommends you use the Power Adapter.

mpusbapi.dll file which is for Visual C++. Can i make changes in this dll file to make it compatible with labview?

Which labview version do you have. Up to labview 7.1 it was no USB raw communication options. I have heard it did not work well in 7.1, but from 8.x most of the errors were fixed.

Try to see what happens on another computer. If it works on another computer, the issue is not at the iPhone.

Adapter is probably quicker as you have slightly better power than from a USB socket

You will not be able to see what version you are running until the iPad is activated. It will be in Settings>General>About >Version when you can get to the settings app.
The slider bar that you are describing sounds like the screen lock side switch and that has no bearing on setting up the iPad or connecting to WiFi.
Why don't you try rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again and see if the iPad will recognize and join the network.

After a trip to the Apple Store with this problem, I found out that USB connections have different levels of power. Try changing USB ports, then look for iTunes to recognize the iPad is connected. Good luck!
