While I'm addressing an email to several of my contacts, is it possible to keep the contacts folder up on the screen instead of calling it up for each individual person I wish to send the email to?

Thanks for your help. On my own, I also discovered that in "mail" I could go to the menu bar and "window" and down to "address panel" which brought on screen and from there able to drag and drop addresses. As stated, I am a Mac "Newbie" and appreciate your help.

We enter various pieces of data, other than the standard name address & phone numbers and we print all information on each card so it fits in a 5x7 inch loose binder. We have used InTouch software for many years and it has served us extremely welll, however, the publisher (The Prairie Group) has not, and apparently has no plans to update their software to be compatible with any Mac OSX OS beyond 10.6. Any help will be appreciated!

You can select what you want included in a list format. In the Print command from Contacts, click the Show Details button. Then in the Style pulldown menu select "Lists" and there you'll be able to select what you want included. You can also select what you wish included if you select the Pocket Address Book style.
If neither of those options will work for you, then you will need to look to third-party software. Here's one possibility that seems to get good reviews:

I haven't done more than try it to make sure that it works with OS X 10.9's Contacts, which it does, but you can download their demo and try it yourself.

Sending an email to all addresses listed for each individual in a group

I have a need to send multiple messages to multiple addresses for each individual in an Address Book group for emergency notification purposes to insure immediate attention of fathers and mothers of children with the messages sent to home, plus work and cell of both parents etc..
Can this be done in Mail using Address Book groups. As far as I can tell you can only set a single default address for each individual.
does anybody know of a possible work around?

You can convert your file to a .dng file and that will encapsulate the meta data into the file instead of it being in a separate side car file!

Photos should be copied to the computer and synced back via iTunes. They are unrelated to the Apple ID unless you are using PhotoStream.
Depending on how the contacts are synced the the device, chaging the Apple ID may wipe them.
Why do you want to change the Apple ID? If it's an email address change, simply change the email associated with the Apple ID. Do NOT create a new Apple ID.

Are these "thousands of files" in an iTunes library that simply cannot be found?
If so, assuming you know exactly where they are, hold the "Option" key while opening iTunes from your dock. You will then be given a "Choose Library" option. Choose it and point to your library.

The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track. However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone. I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone. I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets. Yes, you do this when you export the images from the Library.
File -> Export
in the Size section, you don't need images larger than the frame size, so you can specify that and in the Jpeg Quality you can select the amount of compression used.

You haven't enabled VoLTE (Advanced calling) have you? Not that it makes a difference just curious.

I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.

Mail shows a capital A in a square border character for each character in all links in most html emails.

If I copy and paste a block of these characters into TextEdit, I can see the correct verbage with links intact. Using OSX 10.6.8, all software updated. What's up with this? Still using mobileme, could it be related to that? This just started two days ago. Old emails are now displaying this way. Actually, an email from the White House goes the other way; the entire body displays as blocks of capital As (inside a square border) and the links display correctly.

Close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command. You can also copy/paste it from here into the Terminal window:
sudo atsutil databases -remove
Terminal will then ask for you to enter your admin password. As you type, it will not show anything, so be sure to enter it correctly.
This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and all user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.
If after that the problem returns, then Lucida Grande itself is damaged and needs to be replaced.
That's fixed with reinstalling the OS.

Project 2013: Report: List the tasks for each "individual" resource

Hi,
I wish to list the tasks that have been allocated to each individual. (Resource)
I can partly do this using the Report facilities (Task and Group by resource). BUT it does not group assignments for a resource if that resource is assigned to a task with multiple/other resources. Given that this product is based in Xcel - it would only
require the additional functionality of an "in" search ... this really a basic "error/misinformation" in a rather expensive product which I am presently evaluating.

All I simply want to achieve is a list of the tasks assigned to an individual and sort it by end date or start date .. not much to ask for. Basic really :)

Have you tried using the Resource Usage view? It lists all assignments by resource. No grouping needed.

I am not a technical person. I have gone online and read a gazillion "All Ya Gotta Do...." to the point where my head swims.
I backed up my older MBP onto WD Passport Studio via Time Machine.
I transferred all my files there and put them all onto the newer MBP.
I expected to see Mail but did not.
Someone said just use Migration Assistant, but I dont find that anywhere.
Please dont say iCloud because I dont even know what it is. Sorry, but I just dont use my Mac other than for work, meaning online access for research, and then typing reports of various kinds... and for emailing.
Can I just hook the firewire directly from OMBP to NMBP and copy them that way??
Sorry I am such a dolt, but I really just want easy step by step instructions, thank you.

I followed the steps for the Target Disk thing, and was able to transfer everything on my old desktop, in my old pictures file... all the final transfers regarding my documents and photos.
BUT
there were no folders for Mail, and when I went to the only folder I could find that said "Mail" -- which was under "applications" it then told me that I could not transfer old "mail" to new "mail" since they were different versions...
Now THIS makes sense,,, and I was not looking to do that...
but how do I find all my mail folders????
Is there someplace I should be saving them in order to get them???
Do you mind helping me with instructions on how to do this?
