While IE 8 prints FF 3.6.16 runs into a "unknown error" when I attemp to print from a website; how to fix it?

I call up a web page, I click on File and the click on Print. The print process begins but at about 50% progress an error message pops up saying that "An unknown error has occurred in the printing process..." and the process comes to a halt.
IE 8 simply prints the same page without difficulty. HP support was not able to help.

So far,it seems to work.Funny,I have described this problem to someone at [email protected],and they couldn't help me,and never suggested the "reset" option.The problem has been intermittent,which leaves me holding my breath-hopefully,my problem is permanently solved.Thanks!
Update:
Not sure if this helps,but something bizarre is happening in my Preferences. The "print.print_printer" entry has disappeared (which I had reset earlier),and when I close and restart FF,the settings in Preferences change,seemingly at random.Sometimes Print works,sometimes it doesn't. Attached are screen shots of both Preference states which seem to cycle back and forth. It doesn't seem to affect the ability/inability to print when in either state.

looks like the gtk theme is not the problem. didnt really think it was, but the documentation was worth posting. the guys over at ubuntu look as though they have dealt with this in great detail, and have produced a few solutions, which may or may not work. i have decided to post these for anyone else who may have these problems.

judging by a google search on this problem and the number of responses that came up, the bonobo/daemon error is quite a common curse for the users of gnome, although much more common in distros such as ubuntu or fedora.
i hope that this proves useful and if anyone has anything to add, please feel free. the more documentation the better.

another solution would be to remove gnome and reinstall it from scratch. (some please tell me if i am doing this correctly. thanks )
1. clean your catch:
pacman -Scc
2. remove gnome, gnome extras, and whatever other gnome files you might have installed
pacman -Rscn gnome gnome-extra etc...
3. reinstall gnome and gnome extras
pacman -Sy gnome gnome-extra
4. reconfigure your desktop the way you want.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

We are using a couple of EFI (Fiery) controllers with our Canon copiers and I have been told by Canon support that we need to be using the MacTel (Universal Binary) versions of drivers for Leopard. Luckily for us we have mostly new models of RIPs and the UB drivers exist for these models, but I know that they are not available for all models, which I believe includes your X3e.
To determine if you have a driver or RIP issue, you could save the file as either PS or PDF and then use the EFI utilities, such as Command Workstation, to import the file to the RIP (select Process and Hold) and then see if you can print your multiple copies that way. If that works then you know that the RIP is probably okay.
The next test would be to create a generic PS queue to the X3e and print using this queue. If this works then you can narrow your issue down to the driver.

As you will see in the document above, paper jam messages are not only a result of physical paper jams;
The following factors can cause paper jams:
Paper loaded incorrectly in the paper tray.
Damaged or dirty paper rollers.
Torn, wrinkled, or damp paper loaded in the paper tray.
The rear access door or two-sided printing accessory (duplexer) might not be closed or is not locked into place.
Paper was added to a stack already in the tray while the HP product was printing.
The tray contains more than one type of paper.
The paper is jammed inside the HP product where you cannot see it.
An obstruction is blocking the paper path.
Torn pieces of paper from a previous jam are stuck in the product.
The tray is too full.
If printing on an envelope, the edges of the envelope are bent.
I have also seen communication hiccups cause such error messages. This may sound silly, but if the issue persists, after completing the steps in the document I provided, let's leave the router on and unplug the power cable (NOTE: Do not reset the router.), then do the same with the printer, and shut down the computer. After a full minute, plug the router back in, wait for it to fully power up, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light to become solid. Once both the router and printer are on, go ahead and turn the computer back on. Doing this will refresh the network connection.

Successful-ok-conflicting-attributes error when trying to add printer

I had my G5 and printer (Samsung ML1210) disconnected for a few days and reconnected it today. I found that I can no longer print to the existing queues (The Samsung directly connected and a shared C60 on a iMac). It just said "error while printing")
I deleted both queues and then tried to add the Samsung Printer. I get an error which says "An error occurred while trying to add the seelcted printer. successful-ok-conflicting-sttributes".
The console appends these two lines when I click "Add":

The "database vendor error 556" indicates that the query to the database returned with error 556. It's vendor specific. Look up your database vendor's documented error codes, to see what 556 indicates.
Doing a bit of googling looks like the issue is that the ODBNC datasource does not exist. Remember that there are 32 bit and 64 bit ODBC datasources. If your app is 32 bit, the DSN must be 32 bit, if it is compiled as 64 bit the DSN must be 64 bit.

Error when scheduling to a printer

Hi,
I'm using a new installation of BOXI 3.1 SP2 FP2.5 and I am trying to schedule a Crystal Report to be printed to a network printer. When I press the schedule button after configuring the report schedule it fails on the page (little yellow warning triangle in the bottom left of the screen). On clicking the warning it tells me:

It also fails to schedule the report. If I close the page and then try to schedule again without selecting the 'Print Settings' it works fine.

Ok,
I logged on to the server using the domain account that the BOXI service runs under. I started Notepad and entered some text. I then printed the text to a printer and it printed successfully. This implies to me that the account has sufficient permissions to print and that the problem must lie elsewhere.
Can specific servers in BOXI use different accounts as in the old CE9 days?
Are there logs anywhere that might record more detail? I've tried looking in the Windows event logs and the BOXI logs, but neither contain any reference to the error.

Error when trying to create printed documentation in RH 7

Hello,
I've created a WebHelp project in RH 7 that I'm trying to
make a PDF for, as well. An error always appears when trying to
generate printed documentation, even if only the PDF option or the
Word option is selected. RH 7 processes and builds each of the
pages, index, images, etc. It gets to the very end on the status
bar and an error appears that it failed to generate the PDF.
In the output view, I see that it successfully processed
everything until the end when it says (the last four lines are the
error):
Updating Table of Contents...
Updating Index...
Saving 'GVE_Help_.doc'...
Generating 'GVE_Help_.pdf'...
Failed the generate PDF file '(The path is written here but
has been removed for this post)'...
Failed to save 'GVE_Help_.doc'...
Cleaning up temporary files...
Internal error encountered, Failed to generate Printed

Is there any way to get the Printed Documentation to work
properly in RH 7? I receive the same error for any of the WebHelp
projects I've opened in RH 7. I'm using Windows XP and have Word
2003 on my PC if that helps. I believe, but not too sure, RoboPDF
is still on my PC. May this have something to do with it?

Try generating just to Word and then creating the PDF from
there. There is a known problem which affects some users but not
others. Cause not known.

When i send a page from a website to my printers email address, it only prints the url not the page

I have a Photosmart D110 all in one and just bought a Asus Transformer tablet. I`ve downloaded the eprint app and every time I share a page from a website via email to my printers email address it only prints the URL not the actual webpage. Also when I click the share option it gives me the option to share with the eprint app, but when I do it say it can't read or support the file due to paper size not being selected.

9672 error when adding canon CP720 printer

Hi,
I'm just trying to add a printer using the airport extreme. The system finds the CANON Selphy CP720 printer and locates a driver but i get an error message "Error 9672" when I click the "add" button. Any clue?

The CP720 driver included with Snow Leopard is the Gutenprint version. You could look at using the Canon provided driver via the following link.

If the Canon driver has the same issue, try connecting the printer directly to the Mac via USB to see if this works okay. With it connected to the USB port of the Airport Extreme, it should work fine with either driver so I am not sure why you are getting this error (usually related to communication errors). So I am curious to see if the direct USB connection works for you...

HPePrint gives paper mismatch error when I try to print from my android phone

I have 5x7 paper in the Photosmart 7520 printer and when I try to send a photo from my android phone to the printer, I get a paper mismatch error. Will it only print 4x6? Can I not change a setting somewhere?

When I print from my Mac, I don't get the error as I'm printing from an application like Lightroom and I can tell it the paper size. Don't get that opputunity when I print from my phone. By default, I think the printer assumes 4X6. Wish that there was some way to tell it otherwise as I'd rather use 5x7
