While in Illustrator cc, when I place a tiff there is no preview in Illustrator, what am I missing,

in CS5 or later--it's in the preferences panel
if it's already set like above--just resave (is the problem you're having happen with ALL tiffs? or just one?).

The iPhone can not be legally sold in Iran. It most likely came from a country in the Middle East. If it came from a Middle Eastern country where it is not banned by law, it would be disabled when the phone was taken out of that country to prevent its use in countries where it is not permitted.

I have a powerbook G-4 15 inch, It wont boot up and the display only works on the first try. it gets to the apple screen and freezes, when i try to restart theres no display. Help please, whats the issue here?

Mac Book Pro - while browsing the internet, i hear ads but do not see them. an ad will start talking while i am watching netflix or anything else but there is no window to close. what is this and how do i get rid of it?

when i am browsing the internet, i use google chrome, several pop ups open in new windows and i have to constantly close them. some windows even open up and the sound of an iphone ringtone is playing and i have to click on leave this page in order to close the window. some windows open up and say my computer may be infected and suggest downloading "mac keeper" to keep my laptop safe, which i did not do. and the most annoying one is while i am watching netflix or any movie using the internet, i will hear ads playing while the movie is playing but when i go to look for an ad to close there is none. it will go on and off as the movie is playing. what should i do?!?!?!

When client open folder with html files to preview web site, some pictures are missing when previewed.

However all images are in "images"folder. Same images are missing when previewed in Firefox and Explorer.
Any idea why?

Are you sending this other person all of the image files in
the same relative location as they are on your local computer?
For instance, if you are sending them index.html and your
images are in a folder called images, you should be sending them a
Zip file with the following enclosed:
index.html
images (folder)
image1.gif
image2.jpeg
If you are sending this type of structure to your other
party, check the links in code view. Make sure they are relative.
If they are, on the index.html page they would look like
images/image1.gif. If it says anything like C:/ or something that
points to a local drive they you will need to make sure the image
are within the site definition and then save the files
again.

Illustrator hangs when saving .ai files with linked or embedded images

Hi,
Currently I have a huge problem with Adobe Illustrator. When I place an image file inside an Illustrator document, the program freezes for about 45 seconds when saving. In the beginning I though it was just because my image file was too big, but that wasn't the case.
To test what's going on I created a new document, drew a few lines and saved. No problem, Illustrator saved immediately. Then I placed a bigger image and suddenly Illustrator hang when saving. I repeated this with a very small GIF of just a few kB and again, Illustrator hang for nearly a minute when saving the image. I tried embedding the image instead of linking it, but I still got the same results.
Then I turned of the visibility of the image object by clicking on the little eye symbol in front of the image object and suddenly Illustrator was able to save quickly again. The next thing I wanted to try was turning off compression and PDF compatibility, but then I noticed that Illustrator is actually hanging BEFORE writing the file to disk. When I hit "Save as" Illustrator asked me where to save the new file and then after clicking "Save" it hang (showing "(Not Responding)" in the title bar). About 45 seconds later the save options dialog came up and when I clicked "OK" it saved the file immediately.
Does anybody know what the problem might be? I'm using Illustrator CS5 on Windows 7 x64. The computer is a notebook with 8GB RAM and a switchable graphics card. I tried this on both the integrated Intel graphics unit and on the much more powerful AMD chip. The hard driver I'm saving to is the local hard drive (no network drive etc.).
This is a more or less fresh installation (I haven't used Illustrator before on this notebook) and I can't remember that I had the same problem on my workstation where I used it inside a virtual machine (which doesn't exist anymore).

Yeah, I know that changing the mode results in different colors. I just switched back and forth to check out what's going on.
For CMYK I'm using ECI profiles which are common in Europe and for RGB the normal Adobe RGB 1998 profile. The profiles are synced between all Creative Suite products. I tried sRGB and some of the default profiles which shipped with CS5 but it produces the same result. I also deleted my whole Illustrator profile but without success.
My graphics card doesn't have any updates. But it would be very unlikely anyway that both drivers for both cards had the same issue. If it has something to do with my graphics cards it's more likely the switchable graphics in general.

I regulary update my collection of apps via iTunes on my Macbook Pro and then sync back to my iPhone and iPad. When I check out the website of a specific app (https://itunes.apple.com/.../app/.../id) in a browser or in the update tab on my iPad/iPhone I can find a description of what's new in the current version of the app. This used to be also a helpful feature in iTunes but it's gon with iTunes 11. Strange but when updating apps in iTunes there is mostly no more description what's "new in this version"...

The screenshots tell you everything.
The second one tells you how the image frame is automatically set up after a one-click place. It's the blue stroked rectangle with the eight control points at each corner and mid-way along the line. This image frame is generated at a proportionally correct height and width for the image it contains.
Now, if you look at the third screenshot (click on it to see it at a larger size), you will see I've used the direct selection tool (white arrow) to click on the image within the image frame. This CLEARLY shows the image (within the image frame) is substantially larger than the frame generated to contain it. This is indicated by the yellow stroked rectangle with the eight control points at each corner and mid-way along the line.
Notice that the blue and yellow rectangles are vastly different sizes.
In InDesign CS5.5, when i clicked to place the image, the image would fit perfectly within its image frame. the blue and yellow rectangles would match.
I had no need to go click on the proportional fill and centre buttons like i need to do now in CC.
I have a keyboard shortcut to place. I can't do File > Place for the amount of images i need to place.
So to reiterate: How do i place an image so that the image and image frame match?

Illustrator crashes when I invoke the Place command

Up t this morning Illustrator was working as expected, but all of the sudden it keeps crashing when I try to place an image, at first I thought it was the .psd file I was attempting to place, or perhaps there was an issue with the Illustrator file itself, but after repairing permissions, restarting in single user mode, trashing preferences the issue still remains and now all needed is for me to nvoke the command, it stays there for a second or two and then it crashes.
I really don't want havng to go all the way and reinstall so if someone knows a solution to this, please help.
I'm running CS5 with the latest update on Mac Snow Leopard. I have 32gb of RAM so I don't think it's a memory issue.

Nothing different, I haven't updated anything in fact I was working with the same file when I tried to place the psd link and all of the sudden it crashed, so I restarted it and kept crashing from there.
I tried new epty documents to place anything random and keeps crashing, super weird.

No issues anywhere else, but if I go to 'place' an object and then cancel the action, illustrator crashes. If I place an object there are no issues. I've cleaned the cache files and trashed prefs without success. I've also run font doctor and tried disabling user fonts in case it might be a corruption issue. Below is the crash log. I hope someone can explain what it means.

Just wondered if anyone here might have an insight. Turns out that this is a known bug in AI10 - guess we'll just have to not click 'cancel'.

Control click the focused image (at front). Near the bottom of the contextual menu select 'Open' and nothing happens.
Anyone else having this problem?
Note: Files can be opened from the regular grid mode in the Content Panel.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened. The Ask toolbar can be installed as part of Foxit.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons
