While installation, Apache listener configuration for 9ias at window screen

Hi,
I installed 8.1.7 enterprise edition oracle on windows 2000 and also removed IIS from windows .
While installing 9IAS Minimal edition , the problem i get is that
apache listener configuration for 9ias at windows screen doesnt splashes..
However , complete successfully message coming ...
But there is no Http Server or any 9ias product installed actually
What is wrong here ?

I would like to add couple of things - based on my recent experince.
We have a client/server 6i forms/reports application running on Linux and Solaris, which I have recently ported to iAS 10g (9.0.4). My biggest issue was the fonts and icons, but the entire application (more forms , less reports than you have) took only a week. Still have problem with the graphics - still depends on the 6i graphics :( -- most of the charts are now in reports. There are some "form properties" that are obsolete now, and on linux non of the vbx, etc is supported. I am not sure that applies to the windows version of iAS.
You should also consider licensing. If you are licensed for full stack of iAS EE (includes forms/reports services), then you better utilize single sign on (for added security) and portal, etc. I really liked the portal capabilities. If you only licensed for the Forms/Reports services, then you have no other option (and no headache for sso, infra metadata repository, etc) by default.
For training, I took some courses from Oracle. One of them was the iAS administrator I course. In that particular course, they do not teach deploying forms at all. And if you only deploy Forms/Reports services, I don't thing the iAS administrator II (second part of the course) will not worth the money - they have a CD based offering for that and I think for ~400$ that is a better deal. I was able to deploy our forms/reports on iAS with not too much of a problem (after reading the manuals and white papers from OTN/Metalink). If you are licensed for full stack, then Portal class is really nice - I highly recommended (I can even suggest a particular instructor if you are interested). Oracle also has a class teaching how to develop java by using JDeveloper. That might be very useful for your java programmer/s - given that JDeveloper is now free and includes Oracle Application Development Framework. Even if you are not going to use the full stack of iAS, knowing JDeveloper is nice to complement Forms applications.
Another thing is that certain version of Windows OS (2003 server) might be required to run Forms/Reports Services. There is a FAQ pdf file on OTN, also it a certification matrix is available on Metalink (if you have a valid CSI# you can open an account on Metalink).

OBIEE 11G error while installation at the configuration setting(ASinstance)

Hi Experts,
I am trying to Install OBIEE 11G on Windows on Local PC.But getting the following error .
"Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" at the configuration step of ASinstance.
I have set the virtual memory to maximum.Machine's RAM is 2 GB and Virtual memory is 4 GB which meeets system requirement for OBI.
I have treid few options but nothing seems to workout :( . and even Downloaded and tried to Install the software again.
Any help on this highly appreciated.

All other log files (presentation, bi server, scheduler, cluster controller) contains the following error message:

I checked FMW_SECURITY_SERVICE_URL parameter in the NQSConfig.ini file.
This parameter is using VIP (admin server listen to this) and not the actual IP of the server.
Should I change this URL and point it to actual IP.
What is the procedure to change this parameter using EM?

Listener configuration for 2 db instance in a single node

Hi,
I have configure a 11gR2 server with 2 db instance (A and B), but I have only one listener (default) to server this two db instances.
Is this the recommended configuration or should I have one listener for each db instance? e.g Listener_A and Listener_B. I think it will be usefull in cases when I need to block the access to one db instance (A) without shutting down the database, by just turning off the proper Listener.
With my current configuration I am not able to do that since if I turn of the only listener that I have both dbs will not receive any other connections.
Am I correct?

You are right that there is some value in going to the trouble to set up a separate listener for each database. Whether you take this approach depends mainly on how satisfied you are with the alternatives and how much trouble you want to incur in setting up and maintaining multiple listeners. We use separate listeners for each of our databases and really like the granularity it provides in limiting the scope of outages.
If you take the multiple listener approach, you will need to either use separate ports for each listener, or bring up a virtual ip on your server so that the second listener can run on the virtual ip.

No logs flowing in uio log of UIO Apache Proxy configured for OAAM 11gR2

I had configured and tested the UIO proxy and OAAM deployment.
Configured the UIO logging as per documentation.
But the HTTP traffic logs are not flowing in uio.log; infact no logs are flowing in uio.log.
This is very much required for me to write interceptors.
UIO Proxy is configured on Apache Webserver running on Win 2008 R2
Can you please let me know how uio logs are enabled ?

Listener configuration for external procedures

i am running Oracle 10g database release 2 on a windows platform.
I have gone thru the online documentation for configuring a separate listener for the extproc agent.
But i wonder if this listener.ora setting is the same on all platforms including Windows.
"EXTPROC_DLLS=ONLY:/home/xyz/mylib.so:/home/abc/urlib.so,LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/private/xpm/lib:/private/mylibs, MYPATH=/usr/ucb:/usr/local/packages,APL_ENV_FILE=/apl/conf/env.txt"
is it okay for me to just copy this and paste into my ENVS value in the listener.ora file.
How different are the path(s) on Windows platform?

you just check tnsping,lsnctrl ,check status of database..
lsnctrl start again after stopping it first,
then startup through internl in svrmgrl

Apache's configuration for Bugzilla [Solved]

I've installed bugzilla and I've followed the documentation for configuration; at the point 2.2.4 says: "Configure your web server according to the instructions in the appropriate section. (If it makes a difference in your choice, the Bugzilla Team recommends Apache.) To check whether your web server is correctly configured, try to access testagent.cgi from your web server. If "OK" is displayed, then your configuration is successful."
But this test isn't sucessful for me (the page shows only code)
Someone else with the same problem ... anyone knows how to fix it?

New Outlook 2013 Installation - How to configure for default pop email and access exchange 2003 server for shared folders only

I have successfully installed and configured outlook 2013 to access my pop.integra.net email accounts. We have an 2003 exchange server we use for shared folders which I am having difficulty accessing.
My preference would be to set up my access to the exchange server and use the same data folders for email as are in use for my pop email account. In outlook 2003 this was simple, but in 2007 on up it seems this feature has been hobbled. Is there
a workaround to get both accounts to use the same database?
Next issue is if I use the Mail client wizard under Control Panel to set up access to the exchange server - everything looks fine but when launching outlook I receive the following 2 error messages:
"The resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange. Contact your e-mail administrator for assistance."
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Your Microsoft Exchange administrator has blocked the version of Outlook that your are using. Contact your administrator for assistance."
Obviously the optimal solution is to upgrade the Exchange Server - assuming that is not an option - are there any workarounds?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Downgraded to Office 2007.
So now have a new Windows 8.1 laptop with outlook 2007 installed.
From what I have been told this should allow me to connect to the Exchange2003 server
I set up the pop account - works fine
set up the exchange account through Mail.exe and am unable to launch outlook.
"Microsoft Exchange is Unavailable"
"Retry - Work Offline - Cancel"
Then
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened."
The data file path is the same for both the pop account and the exchange account:
C:\Users\Scott\app data\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst
How do I get this to work?

Error while setting up the configuration for XI integration builder

I am trying to configure the XI integration builder.
I have created an entry in table SPROXSET and created an RFC destination of type G.
After that I am trying to execute the SPROXY, I am getting an error "IFR_HTTP_DEST must not be set in table SPROXSET;"
( IFR_HTTP_DEST is the entry in the table SPROXSET)
Please give me solution to this error....This is very urgent.....

AEBS Port configuration for Bittorrent in Windows XP

So I've been using my AirPort Extreme Base station for a while now, and am really enjoying it. I have a Windows XP PC hooked up to it via a LAN and am using a MacBook Pro to connect to the internet wirelessly through the AEBS. I'd like to start using Bittorrent on my PC but, since it goes through the AEBS there are firewall issues and I need some information as to how to configure the ports on the AEBS to allow Bt through my firewall. You need to set up something called Port Forwarding, Port Mapping, as it's called in the AirPort Admin Utility.
Fire up the AAU (in Applications/Utilities) on the MacBook Pro, select the AEBS, click Configure and click the Port Mapping tab. Then you need to Add a configuration, specifying the public port (BT default is 6881, but you can specify something different in your BT client), an IP address to forward it to (the IP address of your XP box), and a private port, using the same as for the public port is a good idea as your BT client will publish this and listen on this port.

Installation of Wily Introscope for SMD on Windows

I am about to set up the SMD functionality.
First of all I would like to install the Introscope Enterprise Server 7.1 on Windows (32 bit).
If try to start Introscope Enterprise Manager I get the following error:
EM Web Server did not start. Port already in use: 8081 To change the Web Server port, modify the EM property: introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port
If I change the port in file C:\usr\sap\ccms\wilyintroscope\config\IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties
I get the same error...
How to proceed in this case?
