Firefox 3.6.3 wont play embedded youtube videos. It comes up with "an error occurred please try again later. this happens all the time. If you click to go to youtube the clip plays.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

I was having the same issue up until I found a solution myself a few minutes ago. If you have "Accept Third Party Cookies" un-checked it will not allow the embedded "Third party" youtube videos to load. You can either Check the box to allow third party cookies or add an exception to allow youtube.com WITHOUT the www. You just want it to be Youtube.Com.
To do so just go to Tools: Options: Privacy: Exceptions: Type in Youtube.com and click Allow. Then click Close and OK. It should start working immediately.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

Can you open up your Real Player and tell me what version you have? I think Real Player 15.0.6 is supposed to fix this problem. There was a conflict between Real Player and Flash this whole summer that broke Flash videos. Real Player released a update that might help in your case.
If that doesn't help, I think a addon might be to blame here. So do this:

Then click the "Copy all to clipboard" button then paste it here. It will tell us what addons you have installed and I can see which one might be causing problems.

  • Embedded YouTube videos always result in "An error occurred, please try again later."

No matter what website I'm no, all embedded videos on youtube pages result in the player window loading everything but the video (buttons, timebar, related videos, etc) but never the video itself. Instead it's a black box with "An error occurred, please try again later" displayed.
If I go to the video's page on the actual YouTube, it plays without a problem. Embedded videos that aren't from youtube work fine, too. This only occurs with YouTube videos embedded in other non-youtube pages. This only occurs with FF (the past few versions, too), Chrome works just fine, and on several different computers (XP, Vista x64, and 7 x64).
Also, clearing Cache does nothing, nor does clearing cookies.

  • My youtube videos won't load. "an error occured, please try again later"

    Hi,
I recently asked a questions saying:
"I click on a YouTube video, an error message shows on the screen saying: "An error occurred, please try again later. Learn more" with a black background. I am pretty sure all of you guys have experienced it at least once. However, this phenomenon occurs every time I click a video. I cleared my cookies, updated my Adobe flash player, enabled java script, and updated Firefox. But these did not solve my problems. Help me out please!"
Someone replied to my question, saying that I should disable my adobe accelerator, which I have done. However, the youtube videos still do not load and the error message keep coming up. I am getting really frustrated. I have tried everything. Please help me.

Same problem here, none of the posted solutions worked. :/ Everything up to date, safe mode or not, doing everything abive... still nothing. Videos show the loading animation for a little while, then "an error occurred..."
    :sadpanda:

  • Youtube "an error occurred, please try again later."

I keep getting the message on youtube "an error occurred, please try again later."  I've tried all of the recommended solutions to no avail.  The funny thing is, the advertisements play just fine, but the actual video won't.  Any ideas?

Most YouTube content requires Flash ...
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
If you are viewing YouTube from Safari, press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari, try a video.
If that doesn't help, you may have the YouTube HTML5 beta enabled.

  • Firefox unable to play youtube videos: "An error occurred, please try again later."

Tried deleting cookies, clearing history, reinstalling flash, firefox safe mode, all add ons turned off, made a different firefox profile, restarted firefox to its default settings. Nothing works, start playing any youtube video and at the 1 second mark the error appears. It doesn't matter if the video is embedded.
Curiously, youtube does work in chrome.
    What do I do?

If your computer doesn't have any sound (no speakers hooked up, etc. then
plug in a set of headphones and see if it works. I know it sounds funny, but I've been dealing with this problem for months on a work computer that has no speakers. Plugging in a set of headphones fixed the problem.
Youtube now requires a sound device present to work correctly.

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Youtube "an error occured. please try again later"

    2010 Macbook Air 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - OSX 10.8.2
No matter what browser I use, Safari...YUCK, Firefox...Yeah or Chrome, All the videos quit after a few seconds or after I make fullscrean and show this in Firefox
I also will see this a lot. from Safari
I have updated Flash at least 12 times. I read to update it so i did. I read to downgrade so i tried that. I read that firefox doesnt work with youtube now so i went with safari...Nothing fixes this. I removed adblock and deleted cookies. My brothers and dads computers which are not up to date as far as updates work perfectly. I think my brother is using osx 10.7.4. I am out of things to try is this an OSX issue. Also my ipad and iphone wont play videos they show the screen above.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select Services ▹ Open from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Make sure you're downloading it directly from the Adobe website. Never download a Flash update from any other source.
    2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Security from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    3. Select Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    4. In the Safari preference window, select Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data. Close the window. Then select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
