Based on an online post, I tried the following and it worked for me:
1. Windows 7: Control panel > Device Manager
2. Right click my PC's name > "scan for hardware changes"
3. Restart iTunes
4. Restart IPad
5. Connect IPad
6. Still I got the same error
7. Restart iTunes
8. Restart IPad
9. Connect IPad
10. It worked and I was able to sync the apps!!
Prior to this I had removed few apps, not sure that was a trigger.
System: IPad 1, IOS 5.x

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Update - this appears to be some kind of error with Google Chrome browser on Android. A work-round that worked for me was to download Firefox, uninstall Aldiko then reinstall it via Firefox and Google play (accessed via Firefox not through the app) then re-authorise my device. When I logged onto the library ebook service, via Firefox, I was able to download books fine. Thought this might help anybody else getting the same error message.

Important:
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.

hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

What is the provisioning feature in the settings under, general>profile? It says something about "provisioning". What does that mean and what does it do?? (It's on my 5th generation iPod touch, black, iOS 6.1.3
A profile is used on iOS device to add specific settings and similar things to an iOS device. Tryically, they are added when the iOS devices is controlled by a company or school.
However, some apps install a profile. If your iPod is not controlled by a company or school then it seems an app added the profile. You can good the title if the profile and see if that gives any info. -

parse_q931_header: invalid protocol discrimatorI think I narrowed this down to having a network volume mounted with a share name of "Users". The strange thing is even you if unmount the volume you will still have problems. However, if you avoid mounting the volume entirely (from boot) it will be OK.
The solution, it appears, is to rename the sharepoint to something other than "Users". This worked for us. I'm not sure if it matters whether the server is Windows or Mac OS. In our case the sharepoint was an AFP volume on Mac OS.
We had other errors related to Bridge such as "unable to create folder" and the path in the message appeared to be /Users/currentUser/..... which made no sense at all. However, if Bridge was internally trying to use /Volumes/Users (the mounted sharepoint), it would not only not find "currentUser", but it would not have permissions to create that folder either.
So, another possible solution could be to grant file creation rights on the network volume "Users". Another not-so-great idea.

I receive the following message when my MacBook tries to run Time Machine to back up to our Time Capsule:
The backup disk image “/Volumes/Jonathan Black's Time Caps/Macintosh.sparsebundle” is already in use.
So now what?I also was plagued with this problem and resolved it by physically switching off time capsule and pulling out all conections to it. Then I rebooted my imac and plugged everything back into time capsule and switched it on
This did resolve the problem but it came back the next day so I this time just switched off time capsule at the main switch and it started to work again
At this point I decided to add an extra external drive as a time machine backup
At the last point of setting up the second drive (WD MyBook) i was asked if I wanted to use this for backups or keep both
I chose both. Now my backups are alternating between the two drives. So far so good Have not seen the message again -

These restore reports appeared as shortcuts when I turned the computer on while some shortcuts I had disappeared.
Maybe your security software (anti-virus, firewall) is blocking Firefox.
Did you look in the settings there?
