While talking on my Iphone, is there a way from having it turn off while in my pocket

While talking on my Iphone, is there a way from having it turn off while in my pocket?

Huh? You're post doesn't make a lot of sense. Are you talking on your phone? Or is it in your pocket? Are you using a headphone? Do you mean the entire phone is turning off? Or do you just mean the call is ending?
Try locking the screen by tapping the power button on the top right of the phone before you put it in your pocket.

You can select with items so sync if you dont want everything on there. Just click the iphone in itunes and click music. THere you can pick and choose what you sync.

Is there any way to delete or turn off "Game Center?"

No, it's in Settings which is the iDevice equivalent of System Settings on a Mac.

  • Is there any way in which to turn off automatic step tracking in iOS 8

I've been using my iPhone 5S for about 4 months now and up until the iOS 8 update was happy with it.
Since the update - and after opening the health app - I have noticed that the steps I take on a daily basis while the phone is with me are automatically being counted and logged into the health app. Unfortunately for me in this situation, I have a very active job, one in which requires me to walk lots all day, every day. As the phone is with me when I'm walking, the phone is continually logging step data and subsequently my phone battery is dying with astonishing speed; my phone being on 100% charge when I leave the house at 8am and being down to around a mere 30% at around 13:00 (1pm).
I'm so happy with some of the decisions Apple make on the consumers behalf yet some leave me frustrated and angrily dwelling on switching to an android device after 7 years and many different models of iPhone.
Apple, I paid £709 for this iPhone a few months ago. It's my phone and I need the battery in it to last for as much of the day as possible. I don't need or want the phone (or any device) tracking how much I move. I know I'm healthy, I don't need to see stats on a smartphone to prove it.
Please release an update that enables the end user to disengage the health app tracking capabilities.
I can feel an android device creeping ever closer. And it's just so sincerely unfortunate.

  • Ipod touch 2nd gen disconnects from itunes and turns off while syncing

My Ipod touch i try to connect to itunes and sync it with the itunes, but everytime there is a problem. The problem is that every time it gets like maybe 10 - 30 % done syncing the ipod cuts to a black screen and it is gone from itunes window. Also occasionally the usb device is unrecognized and wont turn on for a minute of holding both the power and home buttons.
    I have tried these things
    1) syncing from a different computer
    2) uninstalling itunes and other components
    3) Deleting the current firmware and downloading the one of itunes
    4) Checked for updates
    5) used a different usb port and ports on the back of the computer
    6) Restart the services (Apple mobile device ect.)
    7) Restarting computer
    8) Erase all contents and settings from the ipod but that doesnt work because when it is done it gets stuck on the apple logo with the loading circle but never turns on.
I have no idea what is wrong with my ipod if you have any questions or help post them, and i should get back to you asap.

Try this before you go to Apple:

  • Is there any ways for me to turn off the detection of keywords about time in Reminders?

    Hi, everyone!
I don't know how many of you use Reminders frequently. Anyway, I am. Reminders has a acute keywords detecting system which detects keywords concerning time in order to auto-fill the time section which you might later fill in. It's a great function. However, it comes to me very tricky when I simply want to type in some time ( like 2hrs every day for this activity ). Can anyone tell me how to turn this function off temporarily? If not, can Apple make improvement on it?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Sometimes while talking on my iphone 5 i can hear a loud high pitched tone

sometimes while talking on my iphone 5 i can hear a loud high pitched tone

    Hello ssnow71,
Intermittent issues can be some of the toughest to troubleshoot but I have a few recommendations for you.
First if you havent already, then I would restart the iPhone.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If the issue is not resolved, then I might suggest resetting the iPhone next.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
And if all that does not resolve the issue, you may need to backup and restore the iPhone otutright:

  • HT4528 how do i stop my iphone 4 from doing random commands while talking on calls via the touch screen? Can i lock the screen while talking?

how do i stop my iphone 4 from doing random commands while talking on calls via the touch screen? Can i lock the screen while talking?

The iPhone has a proximity sensor located on the top of the phone near the earphone speaker that is supposed to automatically turn off the screen when it is close to your face while on a call, to prevent that very thing from happening.  If your phone isn't doing that, try cleaning your screen.  Also, if you put a screen protector on your phone made for a different model it may lack the cut-out that is supposed to keep it from blocking the sensor.  Try removing your screen protector to see if that helps.  If it does, get another screen protector.

  • When I am talking on the phone, is there a way to shut off the screen so my face does not press buttons?  I am using an Iphone 4.

When I am talking on the phone, is there a way to shut down the screen so that my face does not touch the buttons?

It is supposed to shut off on its own. Some users have reported cases or screen covers that have interfered with the proper functioning of the proximity sensor. If you've removed those and cleaned the screen and still have the same problem you may have a defective proximity sensor. You may find more information by doing an internet search for "iphone proximity sensor."

  • I was trying to make a new screen recording using quicktimeplay, but when I watched the video after recording it all I could hear was me talking while the video was showing on the screen. How do I turn off that recording and turn the right one on? thanks

I was trying to make a new screen recording using quicktimeplay, but when I watched the video after recording it all I could hear was me talking while the video was showing on the screen. How do I turn off that recording and turn the right one on? thanks

    Hi j2399123,
It sounds like your screen recording is doing what it was designed to do, capture what is happening on your screen, with optional voice over with the microphone.
Screen recording is for recording what you see on the screen, it is not a "video capture" option, like for capturing a movie with sound that is playing on your screen.
For the QuickTime recording options, check out "Recording with QuickTime Player" in
Mac Basics: QuickTime Player creates, plays, edits, and shares video and audio files

And for screen recording specifically, there's

  • The hard drive on my laptop died, so i have lost all my music. It is saved on my iphone, is there any way to transfer it across onto my new laptop? Or does itunes keep a record of my purchases?

The hard drive on my laptop died, so i have lost all my music. It is saved on my iphone, is there any way to transfer it across onto my new laptop? Or does itunes keep a record of my purchases?

    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • IPhone 3gs turns off while having 60-80% battery

hello, iphone 3gs turns off while there is enough battery to be consumed. Round about 60 to 80 percent battery is more enough to keep alive an iphone for a whole day long. what suggestion you recommend, help asap......

You could try to disconnect and after a few minutes reconnect the battery. That theoretically resets the phone BIOS and is supposed to help regarding the reboot issue (see post by NIKKOH007) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2471090&start=2055&tstart=30
Or replace the battery altogether with a newer, iOS 4 compatible battery. At iFixit.com they have come to the conclusion that not all batteries in the 3GS are necessarily iOS4.x compatible or a battery defect may be exposed after updating.

  • My iphone 5 turned off while I was in the shower won't turn on, what to do?

    Hello!
I sometimes bring my iphone 5 with me while I shower, today I was listening to some music out of my iphone and inadverently turned off, now it wo't turn back on again, would it be possible that the steam damaged the phone? what should I do??
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi there Ricardo841,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Issue not resolved
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.

    Hello candymerna,
At this point I would recommeng resetting the device if if will not turn on.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    Power/Battery
Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
Also refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery.
