While watching a Netflix film, I get sound but no voices. How can I fix this?
We're watching a Netflix film we've downloaded. All the background sounds are heard, but we hear no voices.
As previously stated, when I run with all of the addons disabled, the problem still exists. I just tried this again and verified it again. Per your suggestion, I created a new profile and found that the save image as command worked. Do you have any idea what part of the profile is corrupted and causing the problem? I'd like to localize the problem so I can save as much of my old profile as possible, and not have to start over rebuilding all of my settings.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Flash won't work very well, if at all, but it shouldn't crash. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -

Here are some suggestions for getting the best results from this site.

Instead, you should post something like this: "I did A; I was expecting B; but I got C instead." Include the complete text of any error messages you saw and where you saw them: in an application window, a CrashReporter window, a log, or whatever. Also include the steps you’ve taken yourself, if any, to try to resolve the issue. If the problem is of recent origin, did you make any changes to your setup just before you first noticed it?

Is the problem reproducible or intermittent? That is, does it always manifest itself when you take a certain action, or only at unpredictable times?

When I opened the Mac App Store on my White MacBook(2010 model running Lion), it told me I had an update for Angry Birds. I never bought the original Angry Birds for Mac, so I decided I'd buy it because I enjoyed it on the iPad. When I clicked buy, it had my email switched to a russian one and when I tried to buy the app on my account, I got an unknown error (4). I can buy other items on my account, but when I try Angry Birds it always returns the error. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

I am not very technical when it comes to computers. I'm having a problem with Firefox that when I type in a search field or box blank of any kind, sometimes I want to go back inside it and change something before I hit return. But once I've typed it, I can't go back to change anything. I hear an annoying beep each time I press a key. If I go elsewhere on the page and click on another search field window and then go back to the original field to try to type, sometimes I can, but only if I backspace from the end of what I wrote backwards to the area I wanted to change. It is extremely annoying, and I am frustrated with Firefox. My family doesn't have this problem on their computers with Firefox, only me. I don't even know how to uninstall the Firefox add-ons that could have caused this problem. I really need a step-by-step direction how to fix this problem, if you could guide me. Thank you for your help. It just happened again. I wanted to modify something I typed, and I got that beep again. Help!

First and foremost, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. In any case, and since you seem to be in the process of updating (you should have done so a while ago, since Firefox 2.0 has been discontinued years ago, I believe), your problems may exist because you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Ipod corrupted - cannot be restored
My iPod got stuck on "do not disconnect." It would not eject properly (I heard this can be a problem with Windows Vista but I update it frequently, so I should have already had the update that fixes this). It does not register on Itunes and is stuck.
