Whilst abroad I could receive but not send email and now at home I still cannot send email I have checked all settings and they are correct
I have problems when abroad - I can receive email but not send. Usually when I get home it is ok but not this time - I have checked all email settings and they are correct. I have tried removing the account ane re entering but no joy - any suggestions?

It now seems that every page that comes up has works highlighted in blue.. if you scroll over them the add pops up. Click on a picture in an article and up pops an add in a separate window also.

I just got a new I Phone 4S and my volume is all the way up but the other person sounds far and i could bearly hear them. i checked all settings and they are all up as high as they can go. This is my first I Phone and don't know if this is normal for this phone

Congrats on the first iPhone. This is not normal. First check if moving the volume up or down either way has any impact on the sound. Then see what happens while on speakerphone. If you can hear ok on speakerphone, and there's no change from the regular earpiece with the volume changing, check with the carrier you received it from or the Apple store you purchased from. They will have other things to look at for you. -
I can see the Safari icon on my iPhone screen, but the program doesn't run. I have checked the settings and it is on and not restricted. It seems that the application has simply stopped running. The little "searching" icon just spins and spins. Can I delete the application and reinstall it?

Firefox frequently 'not responding' having auto-installed version 10 yesterday. No previous problems. Have disabled all plugins and uninstalled and then re-installed Firefox several times today. When i check my email on my iphone 4 it does not show as being read on my outlook 2010. I have had my phone reset per apples request but still no good. I have checked all push setting but it all looks normal. This is driving me nuts. Any ideas? This is an exchange email account.
If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. I have an HDMI connection to the receiver and on to the TV - but there is non audio from my Apple TV. Not for movies, music, YouTube etc. I have checked all of the connections and the video is xlnt. Have also toggled thru all possible Dolby/Audio combinations in settings. Help! Any suggestions?

The basic setup is Digital Cable Box, DVD Player, Denon Receiver/Amp and TV Monitor. To that I added the Apple TV. The Receiver only has two HDMI IN slots (one for cable and one for the DVD) and one out to the Monitor.
[I bought a switcher to toggle the DVD and the AppleTV back and forth but just disconnected the DVD to simplify when I ran in to trouble.]
So now I have:
HDMI from the Cable Box to the Receiver
HDMI from the Apple TV to the Receiver (in the old DVD slot which always worked well)
HDMI from the Receiver to the Monitor
RCA's from the Receiver to the Subwoofer and the other speakers
In addition I have some backup connections:
S-Video, Optical Audio and L/R RCA's from the Cable Box to the Receiver
S-Video from the Receiver to the Monitor
Wait - JUST FOUND IT!
By going thru the excercise to track all of the connections per your suggestion, I found an anomaly when I switched Receiver sockets for the HDMI links. The video moved but the audio didn't. Turns out the monitor was using the optical audio feed from the receiver. So I disconnected the optical audio and the monitor automatically switched to the HDMI audio feed! Looked promising...
So I first connected an optical audio feed from the ATV to the receiver - Audio! Then I pulled it, but the audio didn't switch to the HDMI feed. It stopped. Would be OK if all I was going to use is the ATV, but I need the DVD player too and I can't use a switcher to toggle between them if I have to unplug the optical audio each time.
This is becoming a career! Any suggestions?

I am unable to e-mail photos, receive a statement saying that the werever does not recognize my username and or password. I have checked multiple times and these are correct.
The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".
That error message usually will pop up, when there is a conflict between the "From" setting for the mail account you are sending from and the selected outgoing mail server. Probably the outgoing Mail server is receiving a user name and password it does not understand. When the mail returns unsent, do you see the "Try again" panel with the option to select a different outgoing mail server?
If you do not see this panel, change the Mail "Preferences > General" to "If Outgoing server is unavailable: Show a list of alternate servers". This way, you will know, which server Mail is trying to send from.
Have you tried to set "From" pop-up menu to one of your other email addresses? If that works, change your settings in Mail to always send from this address. You can set this option in the Mail "Preferences > Composing: Send New Messages from". I have my "Send New Messages from" set to "iCloud". That is working best for me with iPhoto. -

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

i tried to update my iphone to ios7 but then it would not work so i reset my phone to try and update and then it would not activate or show on itunes can anyone help?
I imagine a ton of people are attempting to activate after the update, and the server is getting overloaded. Simple patience, maybe keep trying, and if possible, try a little later. Think of it as all those people lining up at Apple Stores + about a million more.

When I have numerous tabs open I used to be able to see them along my browser border. My daughter pounded on my keyboard and now I can no longer see my tabs but I know they are there because when I go to close the browser it warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs. Anyone know any tricks to make them reappear?
