Whirring noise when I attempt start up

Bought a MacBook Pro in September 2013 and have had no problems. However now when I try to start it up the screen remains black and it just makes a loud whirring noise. The battery is fine and the small white light on the front comes on to indicate it's turned on. Has anyone had this problem or know how to resolve it? Thanks

You have a one year warranty. Take advantage of it and take the system to an Apple store to be properly diagbnosed and fixed under the terms of the warranty.

T500 SSD Whirring Noise When Booting Up

I have only had this T500 since July 2009 and last week it started making a whirring noise when I turn it on. Before last week it was so quiet and it booted up very fast. Now it's making this noise and slower. I thought solid state hard drives were supposed to be quiet. Any suggestions?

They have no moving parts. Are you sure it wasn't the cooling fan?

Whirring noise started coming from my computer

Hello all,
Just recently a whirring noise has been emmited from my computer upon opening it up to use. I cannot figure out why, I rebooted and it is still there. Can anyone help with what it could be and how to fix it? Its almost like a fan motor but why would it start right off the bat when it hasnt been in use, just asleep?

So I have a bit of an update (again). I blocked the Flash ads as requested, which is nice because I don't have to look at them anymore, but otherwise does not seem to have helped.
Now, when I go into pretty much ANY website at all, the computer starts making the noise no matter what. As soon as I click a link or switch a page, it again makes the noise.
I'm beginning to despair of ever finding a cure for this, seeing as I took it to the very people who made the thing and they couldn't even identify the problem

Macbook wont start makes whirring noise

I got handed back my macbook back by a "friend" today and it is dead - no screen no light on caps lock etc. The battery is still working and charged. When I press the power button the machine emits a continuous whirring noise which continues unless i disconnect the battery. This does not feel good. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you try booting from your install disk?
Insert the nstaller disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
If you cannot boot from your install disk, try booting in Safe Mode
Available disk space.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see
Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.

I am running IE 11 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Service Pack 1. When I attempt to install Flash Player, it goes through all of the steps, tells me the player is installed, and welcomes me. I cannot open the player and it does not appear in the Start Menu, Task Manager, System Tray, or anywhere else. When I try to open a file, the site tells me Flash player is not installed. I have even downloaded it to a separate folder and ran the install with IE shut down completely. And Shockwave in ENABLED but in 32 bit .I have been trying to get this to work for about 3 weeks now. HELP!!!

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
(2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Open Pictures folder and move the files named lrcat-journal and lrcat.lock to Desktop.
Make sure that , they are not inside Pictures folder any more and try to open backup from Lighrtroom and check..
Any LRcat file with .lock extension , move it to Desktop.

A "clicking noise" is often a sign that a hard drive is malfunctioning. Suggest that you power down the device and take it to an Apple store to have them take a look, or contact Customer Service at Apple for instructions.

Click start in search type Recovery Manager then click on it select Yes on User access control then select I need immediate help then select Driver & application recovery select the Webcam driver and install it then restart the unit.
Fixing Webcam Problems in Windows
Incase you have the same issue please contact HP Technical support and get the Webcam replaced.

Fan noise when screensaver starts

I've been reading about this issue but don't find any post that relates fan noise with screensaver.
I had fan noise problems similar to some posted... things got better,but now it only becomes unbearable when the screensaver starts.
Any ideas ?

I'm experiencing the same issue since I've replaced the standard Nvidea for an Ati Radeon HD3870 video-card. When the screensaver starts the noise of the fans increases. Don't understand it since it's just the solid colors effect.. :-s

i have a HP DX 2300 i have installed windows 7, but the problem is that it produces noise when i start using it. and eventually it becomes slow. the noise is awful and irritates because it throughout until you shut down the computer. also it has an in built speakers but they dont function help me out guys.
