White area

Hi there,
since installing Flash Player 9 with IE I only get a white
box instead of the flash content. Installed the latest updates,
checked all active X controls/media content, deactivated firewall -
nothing works. Found no real answer in any of the other threads.
Anybody got an idea? I am also Flash-developer, what shall I
tell my customers? Will there be a solution from Adobe???
G

I can't see any vertical lines in those photos, it does look like there may be some horizonal bands that may be a result of colors not displaying properly. It reminds me of viewing a complex graphic in VGA 16 color mode, but perhaps I'm not understanding you regarding what the problem is.
Can anyone else here see any vertical lines in these photos?
ps. perhaps you can make a higher quality screenshot and upload it to a photo hosting site like imageshack.us or photobucket.com and post a link instead of embedding the photos, then we may be able to see them exactly as you see them.
pps. I just had another thought, if you do a screen capture and it doesn't show the problem, that would indicate that the problem may be in the screen itself, so perhaps you can view your photos on another computer and see if you see the vertical lines

  • PDF has white areas due to overprinting?

I'm printing from a clients PDF file and it has blank white area where one of the images should be.  When I turn on simulate overprinting the graphic appears.  Is there a was to do a conversion in this pdf so that when I rasterize it inside photoshop or send it to a rip that the areas don't come up blank? Thanks.
    Marcus

I tried running various preflight analyze and fix settings and none of them make the white object print as it should, which is not white but a vector graphic.  But when I turn on simulate overprint the object does show up.  But when I try and rasterize in PS or send it to my Colorburst RIP I get white.  Idealy I would make the PDF myself from the clients Indesign file, but they are often just middle men themselves and have nothing to do with the file creation.

  • All the white areas of my display are a rapidly flashing pink grid! What did I knock loose?

I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro 15-inch. I installed a Seagate 1TB SSHD into the optical drive slot a few months ago. It stopped working so I removed for return. I closed the thing up, turned it on, and suddenly (almost) all white spaces on my screen are now pink! A flashing pink grid, to be precise. For example, white icons on my desktop have a few flashing pink artifacts, and most of the white areas on pages in my browser (Chrome) are almost entirely pink.
I've opened the laptop many times before to install ram, HDDs, etc and I've never had any issue. FWIW, a few months ago the logic board was replaced by Apple due to the infamous graphics switching error.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Could I have knocked something loose? Touched the wrong thing? Shocked the logic board?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have this exact problem - light gray is fine. Goes to pure white, and it raidly flashes a pink grid. Your post is the ONLY one I have seen just like it. And, I noticed no replies.   What did you do to remedy? Or, did you find out it was a fatal problem? Any insight would be helpful before I go spend a lot on diagnostics...

  • White areas on screen, are pink after printing! why?

    Can anybody help me?!
When taking a passport photo, with white background, I noticed that the background comes out pink when printer. Why is this?
We changed the height of the back light and miraculously this helped. But why? What was causing the whit area go pink?
At another ocassion, normal portraits taken with a white background. We selected the edges and deleted any color, to soften the edges. When we recieved the photos from the printer, the edges had light pink strips all around it. Is there an explanation to this?
I hope my description of the problem is clear enough.
If anyone has any knowledge to this problem. Please, help.

Here is an exampel of the problem I'm talking about. On this photo, you can't see the stripes, but once printed, all around the edges will apear light magenta lines.
Is calibrating the only reason why the white areas of a picture come out pink when printed onto paper?
Any technological answers as to why it does this? Why a light magenta shade instead of say....green? Or why does it give a color at all when on the screen it's white and as I've used the delet button to get rid of edges, shouldn't it be colourles?
This hasn't happened before but can it be that the printer somehow tryes to fill out the blancs by adding color to the deleted areas? I've used levels before to "add" white to the edges instead of "deleting" and I've not had this problem of light magenta stripes.
    Any input?

  • Photoshop CS6 Help Required -  Whites are slightly cream

This is the first time I have posted a question on this forum.  If I am in the wrong place please accept my apoligies. Thanks.
I have a problem which I have spent days and days trying to solve but without success, I sincerely hope someone can help me.
I am using Photoshop CS6 (Version 13.0.6 x64) on a 27”iMac running  OS X Mavericks (Version 10.9.1).  My printer is an Epson 3800  (Driver Version 9.17).  I am using Epson inks on Epson paper and my screen is correctly calibrated.
I have had the printer for a number of years and its prints are normally excellent. However the following problem has recently occurred and I am not sure what has caused it; but when I print the whites are not pure and are slightly cream.
If I print letting ‘Photoshop Manages Colours’ (which I have always done) and using an original Epson profile for Semigloss paper I get this problem.  To be precise when I print a test Grey Scale my 5% and 0% (white end of spectrum) are both the same cream colour and the 100% and 95% (black end of spectrum are also the same shade of black).  The profile numbers on the original image on screen reads for the white end 242 and 255 (5% and 0%) and for the black end 0 and 12 (100% and 95%).  I have concluded that there is no problem with the image or my screen, as I have mentioned it is correctly calibrated and you can see the difference in all the tones from 100% to 0%.
When I print letting ‘Printer Manages Colours’ though I do not get this problem at all, although obviously the colour balance is not excellent compared to using the proper paper profiles.  I have therefore concluded that there is no problem with my printer.  It must then be either a profile issue or a software issue.
However I get exactly the same problem if I print on Epson Glossy paper using the appropriate original Epson profile and ‘Photoshop Manages Colours’.  I have therefore concluded that it is not a profile issue and it must be a Photoshop issue, unless all the Epson profiles are corrupted which I think is most unlikely.
I appreciate that my logic may be completely wrong and that is why I am posting my plea for help.
Somewhere deep in Photoshop there must be a way to solve this problem.  Can you offer any advice or assistance?

Either you aren't selecting the correct profile for the paper and printer, or something is going wrong in the printer driver and it applies color corrections when it should not.
Double check your choice of color profile - if that isn't it, then contact Epson and see if they have updates to fix their driver.

  • Photo Stream white area over part of image

    Hi,
I seldom use iCloud Shared Streams, but made one from Aperture 3.5.  When I view it on my iPhone (iOS7.x) it has a white area over part of each image, for 'likes' and 'comments'.
How do I turn this off, so that I can see the photos instead of these text fields etc.?
    Thanks for any pointers.

  • White area that appears on screen while opening apps.

I had my original iPhone 4 replaced in December due to cracks in the screen, I am now on the 5th replacement and the last two have had this identical problem.  Sometimes when opening an app, there is an area on the top left side of the screen that shows a triangular white shape.  My last 2 have had this in the same area and look identical.  Does anyone know what this is or if I should replace it again? I have replacement coverage, so my original cracked screen phone is replaced at no cost to me.  I have received refurbished since obviously the 4's aren't in production any longer.  Every replacement has had a defect.  Now that I have had two in a row that are identical, I need to know if this is a serious problem or will cause problems in the future.  If I'm going to bring this one back, I need to do it soon, so if anyone has seen or knows anything about this white area please answer any of the questions you can, thanks- V
if it matters, it's running iOS 7.0.4

I forgot to add, it doesn't always show up, isn't associated with a specific app, and usually goes away fairly quickly, it does block the upper left corner and I can't see anything behind it until it goes away

  • White areas printing as orange for multiple printers.

    Hi all,
Did a search and didn't find an answer, so here is the issue - I have a G5 running 10.3.9, and both an Epson R300Inkjet and a HP 3600dn laserprinter. On both printers, any area defined by the application as containing no data (and would normally be left white) is printing a sort of orange-red. Areas defined within an image as white are fine. It's as if somewhere there is a data error telling both printers to render non-data space as this solid red. I thought it was the drivers on the Epson, but I just got the HP today and it immediately did the same thing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Actually, no, that is not the case. Yes, permissions have been checked. Have 4 Macs. 1 Intel based, the other 3 PowerPC. ALL of them have this problem. It's not anything corrupted. On one of the machines, I just instaled the printer driver from Brother. So, fresh and new.
So, my question to the group is does anyone else have multiple printers and use printer presets. If so, if you use one other than "standard" and print, then, print again (our preset will then be the default, do not pick again), does it print the second time correctly, or, does it revert to standard settings?
No, the printer has no way to set the default tray. Which is stupid as the multi function tray, where you can put a limited number of sheets, is exactly where you WOULD put forms, and, the regular tray, which holds a LOT of paper, is of course where you would put regular paper. Funny thing is, the regular tray is TRAY 2! Which is not the default.

  • How do I shrink the size of the white area box to see more of the persona?

I would like to shrink the white area of the home page, so that most of the persona shows. All I use the white area for is the search feature, and the rest is blank. I asked a similar question before, but it was too technical to understand. Now, I can't even return to that answer.
I would like to have a more customizable web page, where I can move, re-size, or even delete parts of it. Mostly, I would like to see the persona, which is pretty. A programmable home page, which could use something like Print Shop or other greeting card setups, would be good.
I do not think I am the only one who does not understand the written instructions for this. I tried to follow them, but I messed up the design even more. Please look at Optimum Online, which has video tutorials, where someone actually shows you what to do and talks you through it. I set up my Optimum Online and Cablevision settings with that.

Personas decorate the Toolbar area ''(and maybe the Status bar at the bottom)'' of the Firefox browser window - the UserInterface; the "white area" below the Personas is the content area where the web page is displayed. Having a "more customizable web page" wouldn't do anything to display more of the Persona image. If you want a "customizable homepage" where you can move content around the page or add and remove items, find a web page like that and set that as your homepage in Firefox. You can any web page that you want as your "Homepage", you can even have multiple "homepages" in separate Tabs.<br />
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
If you want to see more of the Persona image vertically, you need to add some toolbars via the Toolbar Customize mode or by installing some Toolbar extensions that add a Toolbar to the Firefox UI. You need to add something to every new toolbar that you add, even a blank '''Space'''; if you don't place anything on a newly created Toolbar it will disappear when you exit the Customize mode. <br />

  • White areas in safari when viewing iweb site I created

    Ok Here is my problem!
I have created a website on iweb 08 which includes an autostart quicktime movie as an intro. When I view the site in Safari 3.2.1 strange white areas appear in the browser window. They disappear if 1 click outside of the browser. In Firefox no areas appear! Although as typical with iweb it seems, the type seems to get moved around a bund (less so in Safari, but a little nontheless.) so what am I doing wrong? Do i need to tweak a setting in iweb. And how do i get the typeset from changing spacing, although I can live with the appearance at it is, having t exactly how it looks in iweb would be perfect?
Go to www.nigelreblochon.com to see the problem.
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks
    Olitrific

I think it might be too good. It made me very hungry after just the first two pages. I line the simplicity of the site. That's makes it much more compatible with the dark side, i.e. Internet Explorer.
I don't know enough about flash to help you on that but Flash probably would load faster than QT. I know Roddy McKay is knowledgeable using flash for music so he might be able to help with flash video. The Quicktime expert hereabouts is QuicktimeKirk. Do a search of this forum for posts by either of those users and "flash" and you should get some useful information.

  • Why a white area over 1/3 of photograph when stored as JPEG?

When I finish processing a photogrqph with Elements 10, have it looking just the way I want it, save it as PSD and as JPEG, if I open the PSD copy with Elements, it looks just like what I stored, but if I open the JPEG copy about 1/3 of the photograph has a white area side to side over the photograph.  This happens to about 1 out of ten photographs.  What causes this and what can I do about it?

    Ken,
Thanks for replying.  I just opened the PSD file with Elements 10 and looked.  There are only two layers showing, the background layer and a second with a border across the bottom with the title.  I do not know what a hidden layer is.  If you give me your e-mail address I can send you the file.  I have done exactly the same thing with close to two thousands photogrphs for my website, www.pbase.com/mostly_birds.  For the website I store an under 200KB  file for the website that will be fast downloading for viewers.  There is no problem viewing those.  It is large JPEG file that opens with the white space.  The smaller one that opens good is stored after the large bad one which always looks good in Elements.
    Thanks for trying to help.

  • How to change Bright White areas to a color?

In Elements 6, every time we try to change bright white areas to another color, it doesn't work.
No matter what color is picked, the result is always an area of dark, charcoal gray.
Evidently, the program does not recognize Bright White as a color.
Is there a way to make these changes using this program?
    Thanks.

Well, ... it was worth trying.
Evidently, we can't get there from here.
After sharpening and adjusting the shadow & highlight levels on the the color image, we opened the Hue / Saturation box.
All the levels were zero, and the preview box was checked.
Moving the cursor over the three eyedropper icons produced a circle icon with a diagonal slash in it.
Moving the cursor over the image produced the eyedropper icon.
There were no controls on the color band at the bottom.
Clicking the mouse with the icon on the image did nothing.
When the "colorize" box was checked, in addition to "preview" the image changed a lot.
The sliders showed 180 on hue, 25 saturation, and zero on lightness.
Moving the sliders altered the image, but did nothing to the White.
The eyedropper icons were still blocked, and clicking the eyedropper on the image didn't seem to have any effect.
Ever the word "colorize" is missing from the glossary!
    ( This is not putting color into a B & W image. )
There are no instructions we could find in the "help" section that even mention that box.
Some of the instructions concerning retouching might apply, and be useful, but that's not "colorize".
    Any idea what's happening here?
Thanks for your time & attention.

  • Adjusting exposure turn white areas into light blue

    Hi All,
During testing the Aperture2 trial I noticed that adjusting the exposure turned pure white area's into a light blue.
It happened with a raw image from an Olympus E-400 that has a white background and is pure white close to a window. Since it was slightly over exposed, I adjusted the exposure to -0.63. The area next to the window turned blue. Editing the same raw file in Lightroom2Beta with the same exposure adjustments gives a perfect result.
Has anyone encountered this effect and maybe even found a cause / solution?
    Thx,
    Peter

    Hi Ultrapix,
As far as I could tell, the color space is only set for export. When editing the raw files I can't set the color space. I looked for a default color space setting, but couldn't find anything. Maybe I don't understand what you meant by 'set Aperture to display using the same colour space (likely sRGB) as Lightroom'
If I adjust the exposure, only the light area changes to light blue. However, I've noticed that the overall picture looks more greenish / blueish in Aperture2 than it does in Lightroom2 even with the same white balance setting. I'm getting the impression that Lightroom is simply better at interpreting the raw file.
I could try to get an acceptable result with other adjustments like you suggested, but I think that both white balance and exposure should work flawlessly in an raw editor like aperture, since they are the most used adjustments in my experience.
    Thx,
    Peter
