White background for portrait, How?

Hello dear people,
I have a simple question: How do I get a perfect white background for a portrait/headshot?
Jan Wind

If you are talking about removing the existence background and then placing it in white background, then just use the photoshop pen tool to select the image and then apply clipping path technique here. Hope it works for you.

  • PSE3, how to make white background for silouette

I have taken a few pics of my grandkids in silouette form. That is, profile shots taken against window with snowy background. I've done a conversion to B/W, but need to darken it further. My main question is, how do I put a selection on a pure white background? Barbara, I have your book, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Do you have specific pages to look at? I know how to make a decent selection, but that's about it! Thanks.

    Donna,
    1. Make selection of silhouette
    2. Go to Edit>copy
    3. Go to File>new>Blank file> Color Mode:RGB. Background contents:White. Size H&W for your paper stock.
    4. Go to Edit>paste.
    5. Position selection with move tool.

  • WD ABAP: white background for table

    Hi all,
I need to create a table with a white background.  In the following link, though the "standard" design shows a white background, it is actually blue in the application.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/6e/ae0e422dfcdc2ce10000000a1550b0/content.htm
How do I change it to white?
    Thanks,
    Sravanthi

    Hi Sravanthi,
You could use the property "Design" of cell editor like text viw/input box for this purpose.
Declare a an attribute in context of type of value of property Design(Check documentation) and set it value like "Emphasized" based on your requirements. This code could be in the method where you retreive grid data.
Next bind this context attribute to property "Design" of cell editor to selectively bold the font size.

  • SWF movies Transparent BackGround for TV How?

I wanna run my SWF ADS Banner for TV with Transparent
Background, I am unable to do,
all Banners are runing with default white Background, How I
    gonna solve that problem
I am using speacial video editing software: via builder ,
from here I transfer/export/republish the SWF file to file.via,
than from chracter genrater inscriber hardware that through
VB made program that display and complile the .via file to run on
TV screen, but in TV screen I wanna use trasparent BG of SWF,

You need to use a mask on the banner. This will make the rest
of the layers under the mask layer transparent.
So what you need to find is info on masking in flash, if the
ads move you will need to look for animated masking info.

  • ID 5.5 Interact. PDF, cannot remove white background for Multi-States and buttons.

    Hi
I am working on an Interactive PDF Portfolio document. The problem I have is with Multi-State object feature with several buttons going to states that need to be exported as a SWF and imported back into InDesign 5.5. See, the background of my entire doc. is GREY, but when I import the SWF (as directed in Lynda.com videos correctly) and export the entire doc as Interactive PDF and view it in Adobe Acrobat Pro (version 10.1.1) is when all the trouble starts.
When I try to get rid of the WHITE background around the Multi-State objects and the buttons for them (using Select Object Tool and then control+click on it to change the Properties to Transparent Background Appearance) it does not change, even when I go forward and backward to the page.
Does the option of removing white background and making it transparent work only for Animation, but not Multi-State feature with buttons?
Can anyone suggest any other tecnique to create a nice slide show that works in Interactive PDF in ID CS5.5? Please..
    Sincerely,
    in need of help,
    Eve

I have 8 Multi-State objects in one stack on the left and the 8 buttons for each state in the stack on the right. The background of my document is dark grey. There is space inbetween Multi-State objects and the buttons that show the grey background. But after exporting as SWF the Multi-States together with the buttons and placing the SWF back in the PDF file, the space inbetween Multi-States and buttons that is supposed to show the grey background appears white. The problem is that I cannot even change this white background to transparent in Acrobat Pro, as well. I used to do that to animations and it worked, but not in this case.

  • White background for DIVs in CS6?

I have recently updated DW from CS5.5 to CS6 and when I open the pages of my websites, the DIVs show a white background when the background-color (or simply: background) property is not declared in the CSS or when it is set to transparent.
This means that in Design mode I often can not see the contents but the preview is correct under all browsers.
I do not understand why this happens, especially when background:transparent; is declared.
Does this happen to me only?
Thanks in advance for your collaboration.
    Paolo

Hi helpvid, thanks for your reply.
I can not provide a link because the problem occurs in DW only, but I have taken a screen snapshot.
All of the divs that show a white background have the property background:transparent; declared in the style sheet:

  • Black or white backgrounds for books

I am making my first book. For those who have seen the printed versions, any thoughts on the choice of balck or white backgrounds on pages - or a mix of both? Thanks Ladymavis

Yes. If you're anywhere near serious about music and/or planning to put a decent amount of video on it, get the 60. It's $100 extra for twice the memory and better battery life. The only reason I can see getting the 30 is if the difference in thickness is more important than the above to you, or if you don't care about having your whole library on your iPod at the same time and want to deal with playlist or manual synching.
The black looks amazing, and it's distinctive from all the whites out there, although I'm sure that will be changing into a healthy mix soon. But the black looks better. If you're planning on taking care of your iPod, keeping it in it's case and not tossing it around, get the black. But it does show scratches easier than the white, so if you're a nature freak looking to listen to some music to get you amped for that next mountain bike sesh, (or if you're racist to an insane degree) might want to consider the white.

  • Need to remove white background for use on dark background

    Hi,
I have a stock image of some people on a white background. I need to remove the white background so I can use the image in a project with a dark background. However when I put the edited subjects on the dark background, the people all have noticeable white borders around them which I assume means I am not getting all of the white out, especially around the hair. Can anyone recommend the best way of overcoming this? Thanks.

Can anyone recommend the best way of overcoming this? Thanks.
There is no single "best way". It all depends on the resolution of the image and its other quality properties. The - theoretically - cleanest and less workladden method would be to extract the luminance e.g. by converting to Lab mode and selecting the L channel, then adjust the channel range. However, if the foreground also contains lots of bright colors, clipping back the channel black and white points would also affect them and you'd need more adjustments to compensate or work with teh refine mask tool a lot to feather edges just like you would with a conventioan layer mask created from an interactive selection. On top of that you may also still need to apply all teh other dirty tricks like using a dark inner glow to cover up remaining bright areas or fill the outside with a dark color... Really depends, but you should be prepared to invest some time. Using longwinded manual painting and cloning may even be required...

  • Need help getting all white background for jewelry pics and resizing help for my website

Can someone please help me?  I'm completely new to photoshop and I have elements 12 and I need to make the background all white for my jewelry photos.  I have googled instructions but a lot of my jewelry has chain in it so it's hard to select, erase etc.  I have no idea what I'm doing.  I also need to resize my photos to 400x400 but when I do they distort.  Someone told me I can collect the background color and then resize the canvas but again I'm a complete newbie and none of this makes any sense to me.
    Thank you

    no worries.
you mentioned that you have tried a number of driver packs, to no avail.
can you confirm if you've tried this: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS012809

  • Getting rid a a white background.. How ?

Hi I have been trying to get rid of a white square backround to a downloaded image. Does anyone now how to to this. A step by step instruction would be great as I am new to all this. Thanks you.

    1. Starting with your original picture, named the Background layer, rename it to anything else. It is sufficient to double click it in the Layers Palette and accept the default name Layer 0 as I have done.
    2. Activate the Custom Shape tool, select a heart shape, and draw out the heart.
    3. Move the heart layer below the picture layer and group the two. This crops the picture into the heart on transparent background.
    4. To fine-tune the location of the picture within the heart: activate either layer, activate the Move tool,  and use the mouse and/or arrow keys.
    5. Save this as a PNG which supports transparency.
Note: The above can be done using the Cookie Cutter tool, but my dinosaur version of PSE does not have the Cookie Cutter.
To test this I went to Zazzle and uploaded the PNG onto a iPhone case. Voila!

  • White background for stills?

So I'm using the trial version of final cut and I don't have much background on FCP.
I loaded a still onto my time line and the background is all black. The image is there and visible but the rest of the background area is black. I want to change the background to white but I can't seem to make that happen. Can someone point me to a process to do this. I've looked but all I find is related to video.
    Thanks

  • Can I batch resize all to 300px x 300px with some kind of white background for non square photos?

I want to resize all to 300 x 300 but I don't want to ruin the photo integrity but I want them to be exactly 300 x 300 for example if I have an image that is 500 x 400 I don't want it to be resized to 300 x 200 I would like it resized to 300 x 300 with a white bar frame

The answer is yes but doing that type of resize will distort your images and it can be done with a simple action.  Image size Resample checked constrain unchecked width and height set to 300.  With a script you could resize your images so that its shortest side is 300px then center crop the result to 300px by 300px you will loose some image pixels off the sides or the top and bottom. You can also resize the image and add canvas with an Action or script. The action would use menu File>Automate>Fit image (wihch is a script plugin) and set width and height to hight to 300.  This may resize the image to something like 300x200 so you follow the fit image step with Canvas size set width and height to 300px

  • I need absolutely a white background for products I am selling online.

I am a beginner and need step by step instructions of where to find the tools.  The product must absolutely be white. I have many more that I must change to meet the requirements. Please help! Thank you!
    product image.

    Open the image
Use the Magnetic Lasso Tool (press keyboard letter L), and select the shoe. When you have navigated around the shoe, you will see the selection outline  ----"marching ants".  This indicates that the selection is active.
Go to Layer Menu>Layer>New layer via copy, or CTRL+J
Make the Background layer active again, then go to Layer Menu>New>Layer
Go to Edit menu>Fill layer, in the dropdown select white. ok it.
