White/Black unresponsive iPod Touch
Despite just locking my iPod Touch for 10 minutes, the screen when I returned would not worked. I tried the Sleep/Home many times - still the black unresponsive screen. Then I tried to connect it to my computer - nothing. Then I tried while holding down the Home button. Luckily, my iTunes then recognised it. However, when I was told to Restore, which I did, the screen went white and the error message 21 occurred. When the screen is white and I try and turn it on or Sleep/Home, the screen either stays white or goes unresponsive black. Any suggestions?
Have you tried deleting and redownload the Apps from the App store?
You'll not be charged for any purchased Apps again.

White screen on ipod touch can not turn it off.
White screen on ipod touch 4th gen 8 gb and cannot turn it off
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes." -
White, opaque, unresponsive to touch.
I have tried rebooting several times and I keep getting the same white, opaque, unresponsive to touch screen. Help?
I had the exact same problem a few days ago,
My screen dimmed and did not responed to touch.
What I did is:
clicked the home button 4 times,
Them I held the home button and the lock/sleep button for about ten seconds,
The Apple logo appeared
And my screen was okay
If this does not work: let the battery run out compleatly
and then charge it up again.
once it is full enough to show the lock screen, the screen should be back to normal. -
Is there an "Apple recommended" way to recover from the stuck "white screen" on iPod Touch?
Yes. See the white screen topic of:

White screen on ipod touch tried holding sown bjuttons nothing working ned help
white screen on ipod touch. tried holding buttons. dont work. need help.
If your iPod is covered (insured) I would suggest taking it to Best Buy and see if there is anything they can do for you. Maybe try plugging it into iTunes and see what happens.

How to get rid of white icons on ipod touch 4th generation
How do you get rid of white icons on the ipod touch 4th generation. I tried resetting it already.

Totally unresponsive ipod touch 4th gen
whilst i was browsing facebook on my 4th gen 32gb ipod touch, the facebook app froze up. it seemed quite normal for me, but after a few minuntes, the screen changed - it displays thousands of multicouloured stripes running vertically on the screen now. it is totally unresponsive and will not turn on or off. connecting it to power does nothing. i have not tried syncing it to itunes yet, but i don't think it would do anything either...
i am convinced i will need to take my ipod to the apple store for help, repair or replacement....
any ideas/comments?
cheersThanks for the help Ingo2711,
I think the situation just resolved itself. I checked on the ipod to see if i could try your ideas, but the screen had gone black and the power was off. I held the power button, and the screen displayed the 'charge' button. It seems fine now. The thing must've run out of power when it was frozen, and gone back to normal.
Cheers mate -

White screen on iPod touch. Quick fixes not working.
We have a two week old iPod touch that started going to a white screen. We reset holding both buttons as many have suggested, but it returns and ends up going to white with a black apple fading away. It never returns to normal. iTunes won't recognize the iPod, either. Any way to reset without using iTunes?
Try a reset, and if that fails, try again while in the appstore. No data is erased.
To reset the device:
Hold the power button and the home button down until the device shuts off, then power it back on and see if the problem is resolved.

Black screen, ipod touch has black screen wouldn't charge
My Ipod Touch screen has gone black. No activity. I have already tried to hold home /power for more than 10 second nothing come back. I even tried holding down arrow + home + pwer together.
When I connect to my computer, sometime it says unable to install driver too. Any suggestionTry:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Hello, I am new here. Anyways I received a fairly new Ipod touch. I know it's in good use because I live with the person who owned it. It was bought at March this year, so its only about 8 months old. And it's hardly been used at all. When I received the iTouch, I did as I would do with any new mobile device, I synced it up with the computer (The original computer used to sync it) and updated it just yesterday (after updating iTunes to the newest version) to the most up to date version available. I'm pretty sure its a 2 gen iPod, and an 8gig. Not only did I update, it but I also restored it to original settings, so it's as if it was new and deleted everything using the option from iTunes when you sync it. Anyways, the itouch worked fine for a while after it was updated, about 15 minutes, and then it unexpectedly shut off. Its completely unresponsive to anything. When I do plug it in to the computer though, the bottom corners feel warm, it's just not turning on/showing charging icon/syncing. The computer doesn't recognize it and iTunes doesn't launch like it should when I connect it. I'm quite suprised that it is about 99% unresponsive to anything I do. The warmness at the bottom is the only indication that it is connected at all. Any Ideas?
I am curious as to what happened and how much it costs to fix it. Mine is doing the same thing (32 GB 3rd gen) It was working fine one day then just shut off. I am very careful with mine and am upset that just after the 1 year purchase mark it decides to die randomly (or so it seems). Please let me know.

I have an ipod touch and have just noticed that some of the app icons have turned white otr blank.
Anyone have the same problem and know of a fix. I have restarted the ipod.
Many thanksTry to reset the iPod first by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset.
If you delete apps in order to download or sync them again, you will also erase the data of those apps while removing them from your device.

White Screen on iPod Touch app store, NOT ITUNES.
I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation running on iOS 6 and the App Store application recently stopped working on it. Everything else is running perfectly, it still has internet connection and everything, but nothing will load on the App Store. When you open the application it's just a white screen, no loading circle or anything, you can click on the five categories on the bottom still (Featured, Charts, Genius, Search, and Updates), but they are all just a white screen, with the exception of the "Search" option. When you go to search, everything is still white, but the gray search bar is still available and when you type in items it still auto finds matches for the keyword you're searching, but when you actually press search, nothing happens.
I heard restoring the iPod might work, and that a lot of other people are having this problem, but it's happened to numerous people and I feel as if after the restore it might just come back.Try a reset, and if that fails, try again while in the appstore. No data is erased.
To reset the device:
Hold the power button and the home button down until the device shuts off, then power it back on and see if the problem is resolved.
