White border in cell when adding background colour.

In Numbers for Mac. When I add a background color there is a white border inside the cell. How do I have the entire cell filled with the colour? I go through, the 'format'menu, 'text','layout', 'border' and 'background colour'.

Use the Cell tab to apply a fill color to the cell instead of applying a background color to the text.

Eliminating small white border on paper when copying

when copying in color on a HP 4730 all in one printer, how can, or, can the full 8 1/2 x 11" page be copied thereby eliminating the border on the copied sheet. The sheet being copied has color to it's edges.

This will reset the position of all your toolbar icons, but might resolve the white border issue:
Press Alt+V, then go to View -> Toolbars -> Customize. In the "Customize Toolbar" window, click "Restore Default Set". It will move the Stop/Reload buttons back into the URL bar, make the Back button larger, etc. but does that fix the button borders?
If you View -> Toolbars -> Customize again, you should be able to move the buttons back / re-add any buttons which were removed by the restore.
I don't get the white button borders here, but I notice when I've changed the toolbar to "Show: Icons and Text" instead of just "Icons," when I hover-over the back/forward/etc. buttons a blue box shows around them; maybe that's a system setting, which color it is... When I "Restore Default Set," it goes back to "normal" (though persona is still enabled).

Just to re-state the whole process here:
* I re-produced the border (in my case, as said, Blue not White) by Customizing toolbar to "Show: Icons and Text", closing customize window, borders appear on-hover.
* Then switching back to just Show: Icons, borders still appear on-hover.
* Then I did the Restore Default Set, moved icons back the way shown, and borders are gone / more "normal Firefox looking."
Does that fix your issue as well? If not, which persona did you use in your screenshot?

Getting rid of white border around photos when using iphoto to iweb

Am creating web pages in iweb and importing photos from iphoto. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the white border around my photos (image frame)? Hoping to enhance some of the templates with my own images. I also have photoshop elements and have been having the same problem there. Sure appreciate. Kim Strouble

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The link to the site is broken. There is a fix for some of the strange goings on since the MobileMe conversion. See Wyodor's post in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1605665&tstart=0. After applying the fix to iWeb I found I might have to republish a second time, occasionally a third and make sure I cleared my browser's cache.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Photo border in Library when dimming background

Good evening,
In lightroom 3 I had a border around any photo in loupe view when I dimmed the background using the "L" key (seen only when dimmed). I don't remember ever setting it, it just seemed to come that way. I cannot get this border (which really helped to separate the photo from the background) anymore. I tried all preferences and tried to find this out in Lightroom Help before submitting this question. The border looked like the one you can add in the print module. I notice that when using the "L" key to dim, I also lose the ability to display the information overlay, even when cycling through the "I" key. Am I overlooking a setting or is this just a change to LR4?

In imovie 11 when adding background music it always goes to any open spot where I want to keep recorded sound only how can I designate where background music starts without having to drag to where it should start. any help out there thanks

Drag it from the Music Browser to the frame of video where you want it to start and drop it there. It will appear as a colored ribbon beneath the video clips, rather than as a colored background.

Delete white border around all 4 sides of Page

I have a Page, that inludes two images, and few text boxes, solid background color of light gray. Nothing very complicated. Everything looks fine, as I look at the Page on my computer screen. There is no white border. However, when I print a copy of this Page, it has a white 1/16" border, on all 4 sides of paper. I checked Inspector, but do not see anything that would account for this weird white border. Hope you can help.

1. you would see a grey border at the edge where the printer can't print.
In the page setup you should look att the predefined paper sizes for borderless options. If you have a Photosmart there should be a bordeless option. Might be called something else.

IOS 7 photos iPhone 5s white border on landscape?

When I rotate to landscape a picture taken in landscape doesn't fill screen . White border shows?

When I tap the white at the top goes away and the picture expains top and bottom but the white at the sides go to balck but the picture is not as wide. Changed to 5s and ios 7 so not sure what makes things different before with my 5 and ios 6 I'd get full landscape.

Changing background colour of pdf to white to save ink when printing

I am a Uni student and study from home. I have to print my lecture notes (always in PDF) so i can follow with the lecture online. But the tutor always uses a bright colourful background which looks great but sucks the ink out of my printer. How do i change the background colour of the pdf's she makes us print off to white to save on ink?

If the background color is a layer, try the following
click View | Show/Hide | Navigation Pane | Layers
use the Layers pane to hide the background color

Why does my footer background colour change when adding a float to a DIV element?

Bear with me as I am a student learning dreamweaver....
I am trying to insert a series of 4 DIVs into a footer area with a black background. WHen I insert a float to constrain them to a horizontal position, the black background disappears and the body background shows through. A strip of the footer displays on top of the area where the DIVs are placed. The float works but the problem is with the background colour. It's almost as if the divs have been pushed down below the footer area. I have tried placing my cursor in several locations before inserting the float but it doesn't change anything.
Can anyone help?

It all depends on the code you're working with.   In the following example, I applied overflow:hidden to the <footer> element.

Background Colour Incorrect when exporting to PDF from Crystal Reports 2008

Hello All
When exporting to PDF from CR2008 the background colour of the crosstab is incorrectly displayed. The problem is as follows to create a crosstab with a grey header row and column details in white we have used the following trick.
Format Cross Tab Border Background is set to Silver.
Crosstab Expert Grand Total Background colour is set to white.
The result is a crosstab with header in grey and details in white.
This report displays correctly in CR2008, and exports as seen on screen to everything but PDF. When exporting to PDF the Crosstab is completely grey taking on only the Background colour of silver, and ignoring the Grand Total Background colour being set to white.
What is strange that when I print to PDF the format is also displayed exactly as required,
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

CR2008 version 12.3.1.683
Adobe Reader version 9.3.3
Windows XP Professional

If this is a big issue for you then please purchase a case and a Rep can duplicate and escalate to R&D.
As a work around export to Editable RTF and in Word 2007 you can get a PDF export plug-in and then export to PDF.

Artwork only displays in black and white when adding to a song

Artwork when importing JPG only shows in black and white. Old artwork is OK in colour previously imported. Note these are for non-ITunes store purchased.

WARNING
You might want to set WMP options before you let it loose on your itunes content.
It doesn't matter if you never use WMP - its default settings allow webpages to open WMP in the background without you even knowing, and get info from the internet.
You need to turn this auto-update "feature" off in WMP in 4 places.
Player tab: everything unchecked so WMP won't touch your files
Library tab: everything unchecked, esp the box to retrieve info from the internet
Privacy tab: everything unchecked, esp the box to update files
Security tab: everything unchecked so web pages can't launch WMP in the background
You also need to check these 4 settings after every windows update that includes a WMP update, because it has reset them back to some of the defaults, I have noticed.

Adding image/photo without a white border

Hello, I have searched these discussions and looked through help and cannot find an answer if there is one. I would like to be able to add an image or photo to a page without that automatic little white border . I do have photoshop if that helps. Is there a way to acomplish this? Hi, thanks, but I still get the white border around the outside of the graphic when I drag to an iWeb page. I created a gif, masked the white and saved with transparency checked, and on the graphic the white does not show, just the black vector art, but there is still a white border around the outside.
I would like to screencapture the background in iWeb and create an image on it in photoshop so that when I place it back into iWeb it will blend with the background and not have a white border. Not on a Photo page, but say, on the Welcome page. Can this be done or what am I doing wrong? Thanks:)

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

I need to know how I can get the background color of each cell when mouse clicked, I need that because I have to send that color to another table show the whole table with the same background.

how I can get the background color of a cell when mouse clickedAttach a mouseListener to your table. In that listener find the clicked cell through myTable.rowAtPoint(MouseEvent.getPoint()) dto. with column.
Then myTable.getCellRenderer(int row, int column), and in the renderer you look for the colour.

Change background colour of full screen slideshow when set to fit content proportionally

I've signed up for a demo of Muse and must say I'm very impressed. Having used Dreamweaver in the past at Uni, often getting bogged down in code, Muse is a designers dream. I've even told some friends about it, describing it as "InDesign for web designers". The features, and tutorials on Adobes site, are fab however I'm now needing a bit of assistance.
I'd like several images to fit the whole screen on a specific section of my Muse website, right under the navigation bar. I've noticed the easiest way to do this is create a full screen slideshow. With this option I can add one, or multiple, pictures to fade in and out - communicating various messages and selling points. By default the widget options are set to Fill Frame, which expands my graphic to completely fill the browser. Unfortunately with this selected the image loses some quality and seems to zoom in, getting cropped in the process. When changing the settings to Fit Content Proportionally everything looks great. The graphic is smack bang right under my navigation like I desire however there is also a ghastly grey box either side because the graphic is now it's original size. The grey on either side seems to be the slideshow background colour but I am unable to figure out a way to alter this - from grey to black.
