White borders and background after upgrade to Windows 10

Upgraded my M5-583P today, everything seems ok, except I have white borders and background on all windows, the option to Personalize the colors of the theme are gone from control panel, windows support says it's a graphic driver issue, intalled latest win10 drivers from acer and issue persists. Tried drivers from Intel, same issue, windows support says i have to wait for better drivers from Acer. Any ETA on that?

If you click on Start -> Settings -> Personalization -> Themes -> Theme Settings do you not get the screen loaded where you can choose you window themes?

I was using Windows 7 Home Basic preinstalled with the laptop since 2011. The laptop was working fine. After upgrading to Windows 10 the WiFi and Bluetooth is not working. Unplug the printer, and uninstall it. Then download the Windows 7 CP1215 plug and play driver package from www.hp.com. Install the printer using that package.

I am using a Brother MFC 8460N and on Brother's site it says its compatible with win 8.1 and that the driver is already installed. When I try to scan I am told there is no preset (there was with win 7 though) and I have to "custom scan." When I try that, I hear a sound as if the printer is trying to scan, but the feeder can't pull the paper through. I then get a blank .pdf as my scan. Thanks for your advice. I will try that.

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? Plug and play speakers not working properly after upgrading to Windows 8.1

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, my plug and play speakers do not work properly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled them, and restarted. When I try to play music, nothing comes out. If I turn them off and back on, music will play for approximately 30 seconds, only from one speaker, then it turns off and fades to no sound. They worked fine until I upgraded to Windows 8.1. The manufacturer has not been able to successfully assist me. Has anyone else reported a similar issue after upgrading OS software? Any suggestions? These are fairly new speakers, less than 2 years old, and not used very much. I do have them installed via a K-V switch, and all other devices linked to the K-V switch are functioning properly (monitor and wireless keyboard). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Keyboard wireless key not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

I am having hp pavilion dv6-6165tx notebook, where keyboard having a wireless button that turns ON and OFF all wireless devices, After upgrading to windows 8.1, HP Connection Manager is not getting installed, as well as Key is not working, key color turns red and white but no action is performed.
Kindly suggest me some solution.
Note: HP Doesn't provide drivers for windows 8/8.1 ONLY WINDOWS 7 for hp pavilion dv6-6165tx.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx Notebook and the Wireless keyboard not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the keyboard.
The HP Connection Manager is something that is for Windows 7 not Windows 8.1. I would uninstall this from your Notebook. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating. It has a troubleshooting tool in this.
Make sure all your updates have been completed. I would try restarting my Notebook a few times.
If that does not help I would uninstall the keyboard from the Device manager.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

Update: down loaded Adobe Reader which runs on the desktop so when I read a PDF file it now runs on the desktop and I can print it.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 firefox longer works. I got it to load but screen is either blank or doesn't go to target address

after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from 8 nothing works correctly. Firefox 1st received 'unable to load XPcom' After resetting and uninstalling several times Firefox now loads to either a support screen or blank screen. It accepts address input but doesn't execute to target. So far I have been unable to roll back upgrade.
Although IE11 works, it doesn't work correctly.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I have a Lenovo u460 laptop that has NVidia 305m+hd 3000 switchable graphics.
I recently upgraded to windows 8 after taking the advice in this thread:

Now, whenever I try boot into windows, my screen keeps flickering after the boot screen. Its not a fast flicker, its the type of flicker that occurs whenever you would normally hit the optimus button. It's like the optimus button is being toggled continuously. As a result, I'm never able to reach windows!
I can change the graphics settings to discrete, and then I'm able to go into windows fine. But it forces me to use the NVidia card which is a battery drain. I would much rather only use the intel card than the NVidia one.
What do I do?

I have the same problem - my data had better not be gone! Why won't Apple address this problem?
